Great Pub, great staff, good selection of beers.We had Sunday Lunch which was not great my roast Sirloin of beef was uneatable which was sad because the rest was ok .I will return. My advice change your Butcher

Food was amazing, far too much which we fed back on. My husband had the muscles and said the best he had ever tasted (and he doesn't give compliments lightly!). We were there at lunchtime on a cold January day so atmosphere was never going to be great. Definitely recommend and definitely be back soon.

Great value coffee and cake excellent lunch time menue very reasonable perfect for any occasion

The management offered a 'loyalty' scheme, buy 10 pints, get 1 free. Then without any notice renegaded on the deal. Many local people holding free drink cards were abandoned without any explanation! This is in the past few days. The management do not understand how much business this has cost them. Are they scammers, they broke an agreement!

First time in the kent ordered two large carverys Was expecting a good variety of veg, just didn't happen, also the portion size was absolutely terrible considering they charge £18. Honestly need to put more on the plate

Visited this place often during a holiday - staff were always courteous, locals were friendly and very accommodating to my two year old son. Ate there once- I had the burger with mushrooms and truffle which was very savoury (just as I like it). Highly recommend and I thank them for their hospitality.

We only had drinks on this occasion but will be returning to try the food . It looked tasty and a good selection of food and drinks x comfortable with a relaxed atmosphere

Lovely friendly service but the food really did let the experience down. I had the roast dinner with Beef and Gammon. The potatoes were nice but the meat was not nice at all and the Yorkshire pudding was so dry and hard it was brittle. Veggies ok ISH. I'd try something else next time. Great to see Exeter Chiefs on the TV there. Toilets were good.

We visit this pub every time we visit Torquay & area. It is a very friendly establishment with a good atmosphere. Staff are welcoming & the food is good. The beer selection is also good. This is a must visit pub.

Nice little local pub, with lots of local characters. A quick lunch before exploring the caverns. The Pulled pork burger and thick hand cut chips really filled a spot. I had a jacket potato brie, beans and side salad. You get what you pay for in this cute little pub. Popped back in afterwards for dessert, my cracking Brulee and the Sticky toffee were a good choice.

I've been to this pub many of times I have had drinks have play their pub quiz and had a laugh.. however food I can't recommend as I don't like anything on their menu it's great if u like burgers chips etc. I prefer a pub to have a normal pub menu where everything don't come with chips and u get a choice... I've never seen the kents as of yet do a curry or a stew which would be nice now we are coming into winter. Just something a little different would be nice to see... A good pub for a quiz and polite staff always to serve drinks.

We're on holiday in Torquay for a week and had our first holiday evening meal here this evening. The pub is really lovley. Cosy decor and great atmosphere. Tables are well laid out so it doesn't feel too crowded even when it got busier. The food was excellent and goos value for money considering the quality. We enjoyed a truffle shuffle burger, mexican fiesta pizza, kids mac n cheese with fries which was all really tasty and well cooked. Then a bakewell tart, chocolate brownie (both served with amazing icecream!) and chocolate cherry creme brulee with homemade shortbread which were all delicious. The brulee was particularly good. But what really made it was the outstanding service from Adam. Polite, friendly, warm and welcoming. Just the right amount of pleasant conversation to make us feel comfortable but not encroached upon. Very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks and happy to answer multiple questions from our talkative 13yo :). Service was quick (but not too quick) and our food was all piping hot when served . He was efficient and could see he was handling several tables but doing it all seemingly effortlessly! We were really impressed. Unknown to us, our son left a small toy behind when we left and they even called us to let us know they had found it and kept it safe for us to go and collect. We had a really enjoyable time here and will be returning for sure before we go home. Would recommend to anyone in the area!

Service was rushed despite not being busy. Meant to eat there but ended up just having drinks as l object to pay nearly £20 for a burger and pretty much for fish and chips. Prices excessively high. Must be why we use to have to book to eat there but on the day of our visit there was only one table of 6 sitting for a meal.

The waiter I had was friendly and helpful, and the food was absolutely amazing. My husband and I had pork steak with vegetables and was yummy. Would recommend to vist because it was well worth a visit .

I popped in with my family today after a long walk. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The food was superb. Very good for the price. I had the Hoisin Duck chips, daughter 1 had the ribeye steak, daughter 2 hed ceasar salad, and my partner had the Hoisin Duck pizza. All were more than pleased. Even took exesss foosld away in takeaway boxes. Just finished the pizza and was still tasty. I'm so glad we discovered The Kents and will my goto for food whenever in Torquay.

Met up with my friend Sheila here yesterday evening for dinner and a drink. I had the Mussels and they were Lush. They have an offer on The Gin also. Buy a double and you get the mixer free. A big thank you to Tasha and Harry who were our waiters. You are both amazing. If going here, don't forget to book as it does get very busy 😊

A little bit pricey it has to be said especially when the clock tower pub down town can do the same tap lager for £2.50 cheaper but it has a lovely beer garden, entertainment and realy respectable staff. It's clean and tidy with a good food selection, this is the type of place you would take a works party or treat your partner to a meal with a selection of seating if you don't like been put on display or want a little privacy. Respect to the bald young chapp aswell (Harry) I think. Makes you feel very welcome, always cleaning tables when not busy at the bar. Worth every penny to that pub so I hope management if this is seen takes this into consideration. Catered for me and the Mrs with exceptional professionalism while still having character and personality. Will be here again for sure felt VERY welcome indeed

Christmas menu. Good food plenty of it. A bit Turkey heavy though. Didn't have it but not sure about Turkey pizza. Turkey burger was nice and baked cheese was lovely

Lovely staff, we had beef, l did ask for my beef to be well done, hate to it red or pink, when it arrived l thought brill, well done, turned it over and it was red, staff took it back, staff took it back, brought it back after 5mins, however when it cut, it was pink, there was no green vegetables, only red cabbage and carrots, gravy was nice, roaster were okay, stuffing l liked, however we won't come back

Took my girlfriend for her 25th birthday. The service was quality, food was delicious and we didn’t have to wait long to be served or have the food delivered to our table. Would recommend, especially on their 2-4-1 burger Wednesdays!

No takeout and unfamiliar with the food menu

Not impressed the fish was in dried out batter for both meals so had to be returned. We chose another meal and they was equally as bad. Customer service was okay but would not eat there again

Terrible Sunday beef roast. Had to pick up in hands to be able to eat it. Knife would not cut through it.

On holiday here and the cottage we stayed in put this pub as the recommended local. We ate here once. Ordered pizza and chips to share as we were told the menu was limited. The pizza was so greasy we couldn’t eat it and the chips weren’t cooked. The staff were lovely and aside the food, it seemed a friendly place.

Very friendly helpful staff but we was disappointed in the roast dinner, we all had beef and pork and was as tough as old boots!!! We did have a nice time but dont think id go back again as other places do offer better food and thats the only reason for me not returning. Hopefully you can improve. All the best.

Just checked my statements from last week and discovered I have been grotesquely overcharged for a pint in Kents! I popped in for a few pints (exactly 2 pints) and one of the transactions came back at £47.70!!! As I was tapping my bank card I didn’t look at the screen properly! At best this was a mistake, at worst their staff are ‘on the take’. Beware.

Food tasty, main course was served three times in the end appears they had given wrong steak.

Not had a bad experience here, decent ales on tap (Otter Brewery) and nice food, especially the burger.

Bit sad as previously had great food here. Very dry, bland tapas, alit if menu items unavailable. Service however very friendly and faultless. Maybe we hit in a bad day.

Service was very good, very polite and timely. Food wise the New York burger was very tasty and nice coleslaw on the side, the chips were a little disappointing to be honest, plenty of them but over cooked for my liking. But overall lovely meal, thank you very much. Will visit again to try the roast 🙂

Been here tonight for dinner. We both had a sirloin steak which were both awful. The edge was pure grisel and leathery and the meat was really tough. On advising the waitress that we were unhappy with both the meals that they sent out, we were only offered a free pudding. We accepted this as were hungry, we had the sticky toffee pudding which I have to say was equally as awful. The sponge had a non descript flavour and it was floating in a sauce which had a bitter burnt taste. Came away feeling very disappointed and hungry !!!!
