Really pleasant staff good prices

Just another bar to sit at for a quick brake from the arcades.

We shared 3 x small plates. Good portion sizes and dishes were warmed. Staff lovely and friendly. A bonus that we even got a free pint of Peroni on our MIXR apps.

Came in today and partner got it by a pool ball from a customer to hit it t9o hard the manger came over put ice on her leg and took pictures of the leg she in a lot of pain he advised us to call 111 service get adviced manger took our details and very helpful . Put it would have bin nice if the manger told the guys to go steady put did not.

Nice enough pub , staff are fine . Food is not so good. Second visit there to see if I was unlucky with the food the first time . A year had passed, and to be honest the food was below standard . I would go again but only for a beer.

Drinks were terrible the head on the pint was terrible toilets were disguised feaces down the toilet urine up the wall try to dispute with staff and what an attitude

Didn't eat in here but it's not a food place I would ever think of going . One tip I would give management is on your coffee machine the steam arms should be cleaned after every coffee made and purged before every coffee made. We sat and watched 2 coffees made and not once was the arms cleaned or purged but I'm sure the staff should know .

Garbage went in Sunday 7thJuly. Stuck to floor stuck to bar and table. Glasses hung up over bar looked like they were placed there after someone had finished there drink. Waited at bar young girl strolled over and said do want something lol . Ordered two cocktails vile . No orange and Prosecco flat in cocktail all soda water. Pints watered down . Pub looks okay on first impressions but not once in maybe why it wasn’t busy. No atmosphere. Staff looked happy to be there too lol . Can’t comment on food didn’t risk it. Such a shame.

Dynamic pricing is illegal. Brewery sets the pricing not the establishment or staff. £26 for two vodkas and a rum. Don't think so. Very slow service would not recommend or return.

Extremely disappointed, myself and the wife went in today expecting to have a nice lunchtime meal, was looking at the menu and was about to order but was told that the drinks that we wanted was NO Longer available because they don't sell it anymore. Well here is an interesting idea change your menus and website so you are NOT FALSE ADVERTISING

Very busy probably because alfie boe was performing next door but due to prime location It's very popular anyway as to be said love all the outside seating great people watching and seaside atmosphere 👍 friendly staff will definitely visit again when not so busy 😀

Stopped in for a drink, on a day out. Helpful lad serving behind the bar, good drinks. It wasn’t busy being a cold Monday, the table areas were not cleared of food dishes and our table was pretty sticky . Toilets are upstairs and were not great, broken loo seats and clearly not checked regularly. Put us off eating ,so we went across the road to the chippy.

Ordered via app. Drinks turned up and got plonked on table, had a Coke and a Coke Zero but weren't told which was which so had to ask, I then had to ask for the glass to be replaced as it was covered in lipstick. It was reasonably busy so I ws expecting a slight wait on food however people around us with larger orders who had ordered after us were getting their food pretty quickly so figured that it wouldn't be too long. Twenty minutes after ordering I noticed the pub's KMS screen (not sure what Stonegate call their system) and saw that our food was ready and told my partner that ours was next, ten minutes later still no food. I noticed few minutes later that the timer had been going for nearly ten minutes so I was expecting cold food at that point. A few minutes later the screen changed again and then the front of house team member (youngish girl, ahoulder length dyed red hair with glasses) closed off the order so I went over and said that she'd cleared off our order and we'd not had the food. She replied to me quite rudely "yeah, I did, someone took the wrap to the wrong table so they're doing another one, it won't be long but we are busy" I understand being busy having worked in hospitality myself for over twenty years and I had no issue waiting, my issue was the lack of communication regarding the order and the issue with it being taken to the wrong table, if you're honest with your guests they'll understand. At no point did a team member approach us to tell us about the delay. I was also not happy about having a team member speak to me like that as I was not rude when I approached her so her attitude was not warranted. The food came out about ten minutes after this and we did get an apology. However as soon as she had put the food down it was clear to see that my burger had been sat under the hot light for the last twenty minutes as the top of the bun had a small darker brown patch from where the lamp had burnt it. The bun itself hadn't actually been toasted so the sauce had soaked through the bun and it had fallen apart, as a result of being under there for so long the lettuce on the bun had wilted quite badly and turned brown and the fries on both meals were stone cold. Again, I understand that mistakes and delays can happen from time to time however a guest will be less likely to be annoyed if they wait nearly fifty minutes for two meals if the food turns up as expected and generally it's good pracrtice if there has been an issue with a meal being taken to the wrong table to replate the other meal to ensure that it's actually hot and of good quality. The price of a replacement burger bun and a couple of fresh portions of fries is nothing to ensure that customers get decent food. I went into a pub for a quick lunch, I don't expect gourmet cuisine and silver service but for £30 I at least expect to get something better than McDonald's, In hindsight we'd have been better off going to a food kiosk at the fairground. Had any of the team bothered to do a checkback I would have highlighted my dissatisfaction at the time however we did not recieve a checkback and it seemed that the team weren't even bothering to clear tables by that point and were too busy chatting as another guest cleared and wiped his own table. I'm not going to be melodramatic and say that this ruined my day however it did quite annoy me for a while.

Food comes cold. You get a portion of chips for a 3 yr old. Lasagna was just a small strip. Chicken tikka had small man bread poppadom tasted like paper. Food comes out fast but most likely microwaves. The rice defo came out of a container as it was clumped together and freezing cold. The tikka was like warm the spice is the only heat you can get. The burgers were alright. Not worth the money. Under £70 for 5 drinks and 5 meals for cold small portions. The plates are hotter than the meal

Quite empty for a wednesday night in Witson week ? Burgers ok , fish not bad , however " steak & gravy pie" wasn't sure if it was gammon / pork or some scraps of steak ... veg like bullets & mash still had powder in it ( not stirred properly) couldn't use gravy to soak it up as like custard with thick skin . No staff around to check meal ok

Absolutely disgusting. Glasses everywhere dirty tables food plates just left .toilets are vile no one cleans up .wait ages to be served and are very expensive .Will never go again .

Food is not bad for the price un comparison with other options in the area. Have been a few times now so clearly not bad at all. My opinion prices should be a little lower as price doesn't reflect portion size but with the increase on costs the establishment must be seeing maybe this is just me being out of touch. Atmosphere only marked down as its a seaside pub so you are always going to have rowdy people in and shirtless people sat inside and out, staff will call people out when coming in which is nice.

I called in with my son and his fiancée on his birthday with their little one we had a couple of chicken wraps and a chicken sub . The food was ok and fairly reasonable, not many people in so the atmosphere was a bit lacking. On the whole not a bad meal. Cheers Duncan, Aaron, Chloe and Harriet

Went in for coffee first thing and decided to go back for lunch. On our return within minutes my mum stepped off a raised seating area and fell straight forward onto the wooden floor We would like to thank all the team on duty for caring for her and calling 999 for us. Josh (P/T Fireman) was our main support from start to finish and we would like to thank him for his professionalism in supporting us. The coffee’s first thing were delicious too. Keep up the good work.

Wish I had read reviews before going for lunch. I agree with comments. Place not busy but dirty. Ordered two steak pies with mash and veg. The mash was out of a packet, and cold as was the veg. Poured the small amount of gravy over the mash and it came out in lumps…..the meal was only lukewarm. The rice with the curry chicken dish was cold, and the chips with the other dish were lukewarm. No staff about to voice our opinion to as only one person behind bar serving. We tried this establishment as we were hoping to bring a party of ten people to eat here in May before we go to a show at the Embassy in May. But on the quality of food and the place being dirty we will try the Brewers Fayre next. Very poor quality all round, and prices expensive for what you get. I would certainly say avoid at all costs.

The atmosphere of the place was nice and calm and they had football on the TV, and that's about it for the positives. Staff were very rude, made snarky comments and almost rushed you to place you order. We ordered 2 of the burger lunch meals which you get a drink with them. We were not handed them and was told after placing the order 'right thank you'. We later found out that we should have been given the drinks when we ordered so just make sure you get them before leaving. Before every receiving any food, we were given our cutlery and we had to ask for new knives and forks as half of them were still covered in food. Next, one member of our party had a steak. 1st, for a 5oz steak it was tiny and for £15, it is a rip off 2nd, we asked for it to be medium rare and when it arrived it was well done. We asked for a new one to be cooked and after 20 minutes, it arrived, still over cooked but due to the fact the rest of us finished eating, they ate it just because we didn't have time to wait. Then, another member of the party had the chicken tikka masala. The mango chutney looked like the filling of an apple crumle and the naan bread was tiny and was so hard it could be used as a Frisbee. The burgers weren't too bad. The chicken and bacon burger was nice despite the slither of bacon that wouldn't feed a mouse, and the burning hot burger being as spicy and bland and a Rustler burger from tesco. And to top it all off, whilst someone was still eating, the waitress came over to clean the table when it is common curtesy to wait until all members of the party have finished eating. If you choose to go I hope you have a better experience then we did.

The tables were all sticky and the same for the menus. The burgers were average at best. 2 small burgers on a bun with some lettuce and onion. Handful of chips that were okay. High prices for alcohol and soft drinks. Wouldn't be in a rush back.

Handy family pub where we took a couple of young grandchildren for a pit stop after a damp and windy beach walk..

Four people behind bar, no-one waiting except for us, still waited to be served!!!?? Standing around doing nothing. Got drinks, sat near round window, flies around window because there was crumbs and food on the window sill!!. Cutlery on floor and covered in food, doesn't anybody ever clean this place!

Top place on a Saturday night Great music

This was the 2nd time I had eaten at this pub and ordered chicken tikka masala and paid to go large. The chicken masala was a very small portion and the chips looked like they had been warmed up. The tables were very sticky and hadn't been cleaned between dinners and the young lads in the bar area were constantly swearing watching the man City v utd match. The last we ate here last year both me and my partner had a sore throat within hours and ended up with a viral infection and the same happened again after eating at the pub this weekend. We won't be eating here again and I've sent my concerns to the local authority. Avoid.

Food was ok service excellent and a nice relaxing atmosphere

My fiance ordered steak and kidney pie with mash. The pie was dry and hardly any filling, the mash was also dry the veg was hard and the gravy just plopped out of the gravy boat it was that thick. I had hunters chicken which was ok but the chips looked like they had just been heated up were awful 😞

Nipped in here on a recent visit to Skegness but we were quite disappointed. It was cheap and the food reflected that. We both had the burger deal (free drink with any burger) which came on a huge white plate, one with a bowl of nachos and one with what was literally a handful of chips. One of the burgers ordered was the vegan bombay burger, somehow the two burgers on it were different colours even though they were the same soya based burger. The plates looked well over half empty, so they need either smaller plates depending on what's being served, or bigger portions. We paid an extra £1.50 each to get upgraded drinks, a pint of Moretti and a spiced Bacardi with coke, so it came to £26, wasn't expecting much for the price but was still a bit disappointed.

Not impressed earlier. There were two young girls one slumped on a table. The waiting staff seemed oblivious to her condition as they passed the table several times they were clearly happy to take money at the Bar and for food, which was untouched. But not bothered about her welfare. The Bar staff were asked for help. One of the staff members called through to the back saying “ I’ll get the tallest person here to help” The young girl got up but could barely stand. None of the staff members moved to intervene. The most.appalling moment was when the girl fell backwards. The three staff members again failed to intervene and just laughed clearly thinking it amusing. I am not happy about the staffs lack of respect care lack of responsibility and welfare, for someone vulnerable

⭐⭐✩✩✩ I recently visited The Jolly Fisherman in Skegness for a quiet lunchtime experience. The venue was clean and tidy, and finding a seat was hassle-free. The staff were polite and welcoming, adding to the pleasant atmosphere. However, when it comes to the food, I was left underwhelmed. The prices for typical pub fare were higher than expected, and unfortunately, the quality didn't match. The pizza I ordered had a tough base and an overpowering cheese flavor, leaving much to be desired. My partner's "small" steak was ridiculously tiny, not what we're accustomed to for a steak portion. The so-called "Hot Burger" lacked heat and flavor, with minimal extra toppings despite an additional charge. On a positive note, the kids' meals were enjoyable and appropriately portioned. Overall, The Jolly Fisherman is okay at best, more suited for drinks than dining. While I'll return for the friendly staff and beverages, I'll be actively avoiding the food in the future.

Food just dumped on the plate, had to lift up fish to find chips . Skin on curry sauce so we all know what that means. Table was dirty and when we took our plates up afterwards a certain member of staff behind the bar was not amused. The place was very quiet and we wondered why until we found out we got charged £9.70 for a bottle of cider and half a coke. WOW.. thought I was buying shares in the the company.

Came in for breakfast while on a weekend away. It was our first time coming here. Ordered a kids breakfast for me and a breakfast burger for my husband, superbly cooked by Jimmy. Was a quiet Sunday morning but the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were very friendly. Beats the greasy spoons hands down. Will definitely come here again.

It was a cold winters evening The wind blew heavily, whilst we walked the promenade, we saw The Jolly Fisherman. On entering, we were delighted with the warmth and smiles of everyone inside. We were home. Beautiful beer, fantastic food and friendly people. What more could you ask for? to finish it off we had a whiskey and danced see you again, my fair friend once upon a time in Skegness

Fantastic customer service. Came in on way to a Butlins 2000 weekender and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Will visit again on way back from the weekender and on future butlins breaks.

Hiya, would just like to make a complain about the food I ordered on Tuesday 2nd Jan at about 7.30, I ordered a chicken and bacon burger with chips, it only took about 5/10 minutes to come what was unusual but after I finished it I became very unwell and was bed bound the following day and had to miss work due to this, I hadn’t ate anything through the day so it was the only meal I ate, staff was lovely but the food was completely diabolical.

Never seen anything like it, went for a drink here and the staff were playing football inside, I'm gutted now looking back, I should have steamed in with a 2 footed challenge.

Went for the Festive 3 course meal this evening , Amazing Service and Food. :) Defo Recommend 10/10.

First visit here. Food was very nice for pub food, hot, well presented and tasty. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful.

This food was some of the worst I've ever eaten, lukewarm and nothing like it looked like on the menu, BBQ Mac.burger ?, 6 pieces of macaroni cheese on two wafer thin burgers, took over 30 mins to arrive. 🤮 Place could be a lot cleaner as well. Gave one star because there wasn't an option to give none.

My review applies to several daytime midweek visits. Ideally positioned on the Skegness sea front; a pleasant and internally attractive place to enjoy a reasonably priced pint. Staff are great both helpful and friendly, and contribute in no small way to a generally welcoming atmosphere, which makes it amongst the better venues in town. Only minor criticism can be a minor lack of tidiness (odd bits of food waste, wrappers on floor, full ash trays outside), but that's no detriment to either staff or the JF, just some of the public can be a bit messy! Clientele on my visits were decent and, in all, the JF is a vastly superior establishment compared to the local Wetherspoons and several others.

I'm completely a pain in the bum when we eat out due to so many allergies. I went with my partner yesterday he had to fish and chips and upgraded. Poor Dan was trying to find something I could actually eat. I won't lie I was down hearted. He went don't worry will find you something it's my job. So I had a bucket of bbq chicken wings. Omg they were amazing!! I couldn't eat them all so was supplied by the lady ( sorry I didn't get her name) with a pizza box and grease proof paper. The lad when we arrived and asked about the app told us to go to the bar to order as no messages can be given on the app. Again I didn't take his name but he took our drinks order and was really helpful. Finding our way around for a table was easy too (I'm in a wheelchair) Got talking to Dan explained we're localish and he knew our local pub owners. Was chatting away saying how we are having our wedding venue next year in a different pub in the village where we live. Dan gave me the bad news he had seen on fb that the pub had closed and to be turned into a hotel. Not a call from our venue or anything that's how we found out. So Dan is the man he found me grub I could eat and yes did give us bad news but we are now asap looking for a new venue. No idea when we would have found out otherwise. Will be back for a bbq bucket of chicken wings soon and I'll bring my fella too lol. Cheers Dan

Our trip to the jolly fisherman was MADE by the incredible service from our main man ...Jordan!!!! Top notch cocktail skills- if you are visiting you HAVE to get him to make you a cocktail - they are the best! Food and atmosphere were also awesome!

The worst food ever served. It was Luke warm, sparse, and had to wait 3/4 hour and they weren’t that busy when we ordered. They were understaffed and didn’t even get a check back as there was no one about to complain to.

Not eaten in here but always looks popular and busy for food during the day. We call in at night on weekends DJ on and very friendly with good songs. Straight from the Embassy theatre into the Jolly Fisherman to finish off the night.

Came in with my nephew who is Who is asian and one of your doorman turn round and said I have to check him because the who are you, I'm sure you have to check everyone that comes into your pub. With a backpack not just him I had one to and he did not check me as I'm White, I think you need to have a good look at who you Employ I will not come to your pub again.

First time visiting Skegness and thought I’d pop into the Jolly Fisherman for a drink and the menu turned out to look promising. Main course was sufficient for my appetite and the brownie was absolutely gorgeous. Definitely will come again and best place to go if you’re not looking for anything too tatty.

Went here for lunch today, staff were exceptional on a very busy sunny day. Ordered our food, table next to ours had theirs delivered, they looked abit blank when it arrived, I asked them if it was food they had ordered and they said yes and proceeded to eat it. After 15mins asked staff how long our food would be. Table next to us scarpered. Staff realised they had eaten our order, were very apologetic and gave us complimentary drinks. I do not blame the young waitress as they could have told her it wasn't theirs and she was so lovely. Food was delicious and plentiful and will definitely eat there again next time in skegness xx
