Cant even rate the service... the member of staff taking the food orders was very RUDE to myself and family then she served cold fried breakfast she was not approachable at all because of her attitude..we will not return

Would never go back staff very rude. Breakfasts where all cold & didn’t look great at all the eggs where really in edible. Customer service was appalling. This restaurant use to me amazing but really gone done hill.

The food was delicious and the staff are wonderful and welcoming The best food I had well away My son cleaned his plate the 4 times we went there in the week Very happy 😀😀 We went back just recently and it was lovely The food was delicious as always Freshly cook My daughter came and said the vegetarian lasagna was the best and had it twice It was the first place we ate out when we went back Absolutely love it 😀😃❤

Had breakfast there 2 days ago with family, first was told my daughter couldn't have pancakes because they didn't have any- and they were on the menu ( and we were the only customers there just after 9.20am), then, when everybody ordered English breakfast, all of them were served cold!! And everything was floating in pool of beans, will be avoiding in the future

We went to Larissa and had asked for a table of 4 adults and two children. I then went back in and asked for 4 seats and a high chair as our littlest was in her pram. The lady who greeted me told me we needed two tables at first and then when I asked to put the tables together she refused. After going back in the second time and asking about the high chair being on the end of the table of 4, the lady refused and told us no due to it being in the way. It’s disappointing that we weren’t able to try the food and surprised to be turned away when there weren’t many customers. You would have thought they’d want 4 adult paying customers but clearly not.

We have been eating hear for year and can not recommend them enough the service is amazing and the food is just as good

My sisters and I visited Chapel St Leonards this week for a short break. We needed somewhere where we could eat at reasonable prices, but of course the food would have to be good too! We found this Cafe/Restaurant 'Larissa' along the main road. Not only was the food excellent, the quantity was more then enough to fill us, it was also extremely tasty :0). The owners Chris & Zoe were fabulous hosts, very welcoming, friendly and tended to our every need. Chris's sister Alex served us daily and always with a beaming smile. Though we didn't meet the Chef personally, his food was outstanding 100%. We would highly recommend eating at Larissa, it was superb! This is a really good restaurant. The food is cooked really well here but there is a bit of an issue. The massive burgers come on old chopping board esq things. I don't like this as a plate would catch salad that comes out of a burger much easier then a chopping board. Besides that, great restaurant.

We are just back from our first holiday at CSL and our week was made all the more enjoyable by the staff at this gem of a place to eat . We had breakfast, lunch and dinner most days and not once did we have a problem, The menus are clear and the choice is satisfactory, A good selection in burgers ..(home made and the best I’ve tasted ) Seating outside and dog friendly too … Yes I would recommend.

Absolutely a great find!!! Unfortunately we found this place at the end of our holiday, we went the last 2 nights and wish we had another night. Food is spectacular with the most friendly professional service..we will definitely be back. Do yourselves a favour and eat here, you will NOT regret it.

Very disappointing. We were told to try this place by a family member, they told us the burgers were amazing. Unfortunately we did not get to try them. As soon as we walked through the door a pleasant young lady gave us menus and lead us to our table. 2 adults, 1 teen (14), 2 children (10,8). A few minutes after being seated the young lady was back to take our order, "Sorry we are only serving all day breakfasts and roast dinners as its sunday", curious as to why we wasnt told this when we were handed standard menus, but OK, disappointing, but fair enough. My partner and our teen reluctantly decided on the roast beef dinner, our two younger children wanted childrens meals; chicken nuggets and chips/mash and beans, waitress said that was ok, I asked for scampi and waitress went to check with chef "Yes that's fine because it's quick", great, we ordered drinks. The drinks came out to us shortly after, in cans not glasses. 15 minutes later our food had not yet arrived, but we were happy chatting with one another. Then I noticed a waiter take two orders of burgers to the outside seating area, I got the waitresses attention and said "I thought burgers weren't available today", she replied "it was a mistake" and hastily disappeared. The food took 30 minutes in all, and when it arrived we were all underwhelmed. My partner said the mash potato was "smash" cupboard mix, the meat was cold and chewy, the veg was tasteless and the yorkshire pudding was not fresh, a smart price one is more appetising, the hottest thing on the plate was the gravy. Our autistic teen son, ate two mouth fulls then refused to try anything else. Our 10 year old was disappointed as the mash wasn't "real" and despite the menu referring to the children's meals as suitable for children under 12 years, there wasnt enough to feed a toddler on her plate, it was obviously much smaller than the plate they served our 8 year old, he however was very satisfied with his meal. My scampi was nice, I gave half of my chips to our 10 year old to cheer her up. As we were heading to counter to pay, I noticed that nobody in the restaurant had roast dinners or all day breakfasts, so maybe the workers just took a dislike to my family and I. I will not be dinning there again, and I will disuade anybody who asks me about the place. It was a very unpleasant experience.

Popped in for an evening meal after a long day at the fair and was fully impressed. The food was clearly made fresh and was cooked to perfection. The portions were generous without being too much. We ordered the salmon, mixed grill, kids meal and a burger and each of them were delicious. Beautiful meals, great prices And very friendly service. Will be returning for breakfast before going home!

Having read the reviews I was a bit dubious however as a family of 5 (2yr old included) we decided to give it a try and I’m so glad we did. Each of us ordered a different dish. All came out together piping hot and delicious! Staff were attentive, friendly and eager. Give this place a go. It’s lovely!!!!! 5 stars all day long

Saw this on a off chance when lookimg for somewhere for breakfast. Looked closed from the outside but it wasn't . Had 1 traditional small breakfast, 1 vegetarian medium breakfast & 1 vegetarian large breakfast. All arrived hot, fresh & and with great service with a smile. Honestly they were really great breakfasts. Definitely recommend. Only reason I lost a star was we sat outside on the benches and the surroundings let it down. The garden could do with better tables and better shade. Trees being cut and some pots with flowers in would make a massive difference. But that's cosmetic. Overall wonderful food and friendly service. Well done

Just popped in for breakfast, I had a mega & my Mrs had a medium. Well cooked , everything very tasty. My mega came with black pudding which I did not want so the waitress gave me an extra hash brown in its place. Both meals came with tea or coffee and all for just over £13. Well worth a visit for a good cooked meal at a good price. My photo is my plate which was huge & full with food when it came but was empty when I'd finished as I tucked into it before I got my phone out lol

Me and my partner were on a couple nights away and came into Larissa's for a bite to eat around tea time. Although this place does not have toilets the food was lovely. Couldn't fault it. Excellent service from the waitress and food was hot when arrived which also came out at w speedy time. Would recommend

Just no! Overpriced for what you get, burgers had a funny taste like old meat. The 'salad' was lettuce, onion & tomato.. odd to think you're surrounded by fresh produce! You don't put mozzarella on a jacket potato! The tables were very sticky & the toilets were out of order. We won't be using this place again. Lady was friendly but that was the only positive.

Went here for an evening meal husband had steak which he said was very good I had BBQ chicken and chips not so good sauce had large chunks of tomato in it and small pieces of bacon more like a hunters chicken ( which was also on the menu ) salad was yellow round the edges . Mine came 7 mins after my husband's but the waitress did apologize and she was very nice good disabled access but probably would not go again

The food is excellent and everything is beautifully seasoned, I went for a week and ended up eating here 4 of the days, you also won’t get better prices, the girls at the front of the house are also very welcoming and very friendly, some people will moan about everything! Ignore them and just try it for yourself 🙂

Children’s hot chocolate drink arrived in a bottle with a rusty cap and reusable straw (have they not heard of the virus)! Adult meal arrived. Mash pototoe with a large piece of plastic which my daughter nearly choked on it ! Kindly told the young waitress. She passed this to who I assume is the manager in the kitchen , he offered 10% discount! Disgusting. Picture of the dirty bottle attached He should not have charged for the meal which got sent back. Should have apologised. Not left it to the young waitress to do his dirty work . Visited when it was Sue’s. Hygiene and food always excellent. Will not be eating here again

Visited today, been many times before & the breakfasts were yummy but decided to have a takeaway breakfast today as it was cold outside, neither of us wanted tomato so asked for hash brown instead.. we got 1 so halved it. I struggle eating anyway but for once my stomach was fancying abit of food, after I’d eaten my half of the hash brown I was about to tuck into the beans but noticed a dodgy looking one, picked it up and it had black dots ( mould looking) so that instantly made me feel unwell not wanting to eat. I don’t like to complain if we hadn’t of gone back to chalet and stayed I would of delt with matter privately. Please make sure the chef checks the food before taking it out. Hopefully be better next time?

Been here a few times in the last 2 months. First visit was amazing, steak pie to die for and lovely friendly service. Second time I was given curry that tasted like bolognese and plates cleared before others had finished. Third time we were presented with the bill before we even recieved the food or drinks, again some plates cleared while others were eating and felt rushed to get out. Most of the staff are friendly but some need customer service training... was asked before we had even got our puddings ' You pay me now'. To which I replied 'when we are finished yes I will'. I would give 5* if the staff get some customer/ hospitality training. Food is really good besides the one of tomato curry.

we went as a family of ten, the service was excellent and the food and presentation brilliant, top marks. We used the government eat out scheme but would happily have paid full price

My whole family called in for lunch by the off chance yesterday, as we wanted something fresh and different. Wow, we weren't disappointed at all. The food was amazing, fresh, home-made and deliciously tasty. We were greeted with a friendly smile from the owner and all the staff were extra attentive. A little gem on the east coast and great value for money. Look forward to going back to support these guys when I am on my hols again!

Awful!! We enquired about Sunday lunch for 8 people and where told they stopped serving lunch at 3pm. We then prebooked a table for 5pm and planned to order off the normal menu. On arrival staff told us they had held 1x beef and 5x pork for our table to which we stated we hadn’t preordered!! We were then seated outside and were told they had 1xbeef and 5xpork left if we wanted them and could also make some chicken Sunday lunches if we preferred. One person from our party asked if they could change the mashed and roast potato for chips as they didn’t like it. Staff told us they had no chips left at all, even if we had burgers we would have to have roast potatoes or salad. We were served frozen roast potatoes, veg, and Yorkshire puddings, chicken breast cut in half and what seemed like boiled pork medallions. Another person from our party got serloin steak which he said was beautiful and tender.. but served with no steak knife. When we asked for a steak knife and some extra gravy, the waitress huffed and puffed then brought 8 steak knives asking if anyone else wanted one then put our gravy (half a gravy boat) on another table!! THEN another large group arrived and ordered and got various meals WITH CHIPS INC A Sunday lunch!! Our table was cleared where the waitress managed to flick veg and gravy on 2 people while scraping food onto one plate. Awful food and awful service!!!

Excellent food and very friendly service. I didn't have the chocolate cheesecake but those that did were in heaven. Good choice for the children as well. Will definitely revisit

Arrived just after 2pm. Ordered food n drinks after 5 min and got drinks 20 min later Reduced menu due to a busy weekend but food OK The problem is service, wouldnt mind if it was busy but it wasn't.obviously needs a manager to keep on top of things.

My wife and I called for lunch, we both had the Hawaiian chicken. It came quite quickly and was well presented and hot. Only every other table used due to covid and all the staff wearing face Shields. It it's clean and the lav it's clean . Quite reasonable prices too.£25:40 for the meals and drinks. That came with a choice of chips and salad, or potatoes and veg.

We visited this place mid season last year in a party of 7 . Food quality was not as good as the last owners however the service was fast and friendly . Also the previous owners had a special lunch time meal for kids which always attracted us inside .

Just been to Larissa trunch lane got tuna that looked like cat food and tasted worse the burger tasted awful if you've never tried this place don't bother those who have know exactly what I'm talking about avoid

Perfect atmosphere! The staffing really friendly. Lovely food as well.I had a nice omellet for breakfast and a nice cup of tea. This place is recently renovated and look s brill. Well done. The best in Chapel!

We have been to Larissa's 4 times now. Every meal was brilliant. I had chilli, which was spicy enough without being too hot My partner had steak pie. The pastry was just right..meant in your mouth short pastry We also had breakfasts. Everything was cooked just how we liked it. The cost was good too. Cant recommended them enough for tasty meals.and the staff are so helpful and accommodating.

We called in for a breakfast and it was delicious. The staff were wonderful and created a warm and friendly environment. Lovely full English breakfast for two with coffee for under £10. Would have been 5* but for the silly sauce sachets.

I visit this restaurant 5 days a week and I love it. The staff are wonderful and bend over backwards to accommodate your requirements. The food is cooked to order so please be patient it's so worth it. The atmosphere is brilliant and I would recommend it to anyone. Please visit it and see for yourselves. I promise you will not be disappointed.

I have read all the previous reviews and thought it didn’t reflect the experience we had. We had breakfast there for 12 out of the 14 days and had no complaints what so ever. We also had evening meals 12 out of 14 days and...

Thought we would give this a try today.. swiftly wished we hadn’t bothered! Kids ate their roast beef dinners which in fairness were as big the adult portions but beef very chewy almost unable to cut it! Daughters prawn cocktail full of hairs and frozen...

Visited last night and ordered the “handmade” burger for £7.95. The burger was NOT hand made it was in-fact a cheap catering burger full of gristle. Had it not been described as “handmade” I would have happily eaten it and said I got what i expected from a cafe. One star for blatantly misleading me.

Not the greatest as my brother found what looked like a dragon fly in his dish then they tried to charge us for it.

Good selection of meals as well as all day breakfasts, Sunday lunches on Sundays.

I asked for the home made steak pie with double veg & gravy on the side & that's exactly what I got. All served piping hot with butter for the new potatoes which was part of the dish. My partner had Liver & Onions with mashed potatoes & veg, again served piping hot on a hot plate (so many restaurants could learn from that alone!). Both dishes were very tasty & served promptly by a helpful waiter. Apple crumble with custard & ice cream for me, Rhubarb crumble with the same extras for my partner. Crumbles were home made, piping hot & very tasty. 2 very minor negatives. The Rhubarb topping was slightly doughy still, it needed another 5m in the oven to crisp up & the waiter popped out for a quick smoke during a quiet moment, no real problem other than (as a pair of non smokers) we found it a bit pungent on his return. As visitors to the area we had no idea what to expect, we were happily surprised with a great home made meal which included a couple of drinks for under £30, bargain! Thanks for a lovely meal, we shall return again during the week, home made Lasagne has been requested.

Had a breakfast here and was pleasantly surprised with the quality. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Service was efficient and friendly. Coffee was also very good.

Went for tea and ordered 3 meals, 2 was ok chilli chips and pie and mash but the fish and chips well all I can say frozen cheap fish and some chips like warm peas Not a place I will return Service was good that's why I gave it 2 stars

The Breakfast was very good ( large) choice of sausages, coffee good . Service excellent, efficient and very polite. Good value. Definitely recommend.
