Been twice now and have not been disappointed food was absolutely beautiful new staff so friendly .it was the Jewel but now it is called the Royal, give it a go you will surprised

Good food. good decor, excellent service. Park on Hall street car park. Wide variety of choices on menu . Cheese and garlic naan actually contained both unlike a lot of places.

Ate in, it’s changed names now called The Royal. The place is clean and the staff are polite and helpful. The food was great, I always say the best fish pakora I’ve ever had. I can’t eat much so me and my partner share and there’s still loads. I stopped going in around two years ago after a bad experience but I can’t fault it now. The food is so much better. My new weekend food place.

Excellent service, fantastic food.will definitely recommend and use again. 1st time have used the restaurant but tried it this time off a recommendation, and they were right food and service you cannot fault.

My husband and I have come here for years; it has now changed its name to Hannan's .. same owners but with a new decor but the food is still as delicious as always the prices are very competitive and the service is always outstanding. 👌 5***** can't fault it 😋 delicious....

Excellent food, excellent service, this is the third time in as many weeks that we have visited here for a meal. On each occasion there has been around 8 or more of us and we’ve received food and service of a high standard every time. I would highly recommend the Honey Lemon chicken, the garlic and coriander chicken dish is also excellent, amongst many others. Thanks for looking after us yet again and look forward to our next visit which will definitely be in the very near future.

Had an excellent night for my anniversary. Waitress and waiters so polite and helpful-quality food and so good for the price!! Have highly recommended to my family-lovely warm atmosphere. Definitely booking for Christmas! X

1st time here young girl serving had bit of an attiude and twice leant over table to pass our food/drink and shoved her breast in my partners face!!!! She took ages to take our plates away and could clearly see we had finished long before!! There were 7 of us dont think we’ll be going back in there even though ive heard good reviews on the place food was average

we havent used this resturant for years but we thought we would give it a try!.. We had food there with a few friends and it was a good night! The food was quite good and flavoursome and the service was great! The waiters were well informed about every dish and they were happy to attend to concerns over the nut allergies of a friend's food.. Not as good as my local but we shall definitely be popping in again when we decide for a change!..

We arrived very early in the evening, and the waiter was eager to please. In fact, all of the staff were polite and attentive throughout. The food was glorious. A chicken tikka balti and a chicken jalfrezi. Both meals were excellent, perfectly cooked. The restaurant was clean and tidy, and soft music was playing in the background. All in all, nothing to fault about the place. Only thing to remember is that The Jewel isn't licensed, so if you want alcohol with your meal, you will have to bring your own. But lots of restaurants are unlicensed nowadays, so it's not a problem. Thoroughly recommend The Jewel.

Very impressed with excellent service provide. Food was outstanding very tasty and to requirements. Food came on time and was very piping hot. Normally I have chicken Bhuna but today I am having a chicken Karahi which some various occasions I do have this dish. Always very happy with the variety of dish choices available and are all value for money. It’s also phenomenally good for taking your own alcohol which I find another money saving thing.

The Jewel has made me a regular and I'm very tough to please. The takeaway is so fast I got it in 30 MINS that's the fastest I have ever gotten a delivery way better than Amazon🤣🤣🤣. But seriously I ate in one night and the food tasted heavenly. I will recommend 100 times.

Wonderfull indian/bangladeshi restaurant. Great service,modern style restaurant design. Food we had was impeccable. Its not our 1st been coming here for couple of months as we moved round the corner. Started off with usual poppadoms and dips,me and the mrs always have are usual main meals now because we just cant get enough of it maybe someday later will have a change but for now i will keep having my chicken madrass wich i cant fault here just perfectly done and my mrs she has her bombay supreme, if u like mushrooms,spinach and potato then this would be a nice one for any veggie people well recomeneded medium dish and not too hot just perfect and looks nice when it comes in a plate as mine just came in a balti dish wich was fine as its old school the way i like it,had mines with chips/nan and the mrs just had couple chappati always.We dont have desserts but this time i asked the waiter which is the best one and not to much of a filling you can recomend as there is no pictures on the menu. Happy to say he recomended me a funky pie wich i wasnt too sure about it even though he explained thats it is a biscuit crumb filled with icecream also toffee and hazelnuts something like that but the waiter just told me to trust him that its the best and i did it was omg delicious. Anyway happy to say in my opinion its the best place to have a meal , the meal cooking looks good ,comes out nicly piping hot, bread too what more you want. Also i have takeaways which is always nicley done when i come back from work and cheaper too especialy when i come before 6pm for the 20% off my total bill not bad . So overall 5/5.

Visited the Jewel last week and was absolutely amazed by the food and the service. Best decision I made on the dish. House special different to normal curry but best decision.

The food here is fantastic and the calm atmosphere makes for a great night out. We tried the Chicken Marsala for the first time last night and it was stunning, freshly cooked very tasty and well presented. We will certainly be going back.

I have been using The Jewel for 10 years and haven't had a bad meal. Whether it's a takeaway or dining in the food is always consistently good. Staff are friendly and have a vast knowledge of the cuisine, they are always happy to recommend dishes. They also really look after customers that are loyal as I have experienced often receiving starters and sides free of charge. In my opinion The Jewel is one of the best Indian restaurants in the Midlands. More specifically the best in Willenhall, no others locally can compare. Great food and a great service. I recommend them to everyone, you will not be disappointed!!

I have been going to this place for a long Time. I love this place. Been with Family and my staffs.

The food here was absolutely amazing and the staff were so attentive. Me and my friends had such a lovely evening and will definitely be coming back next week. They didn’t rush us at all which meant we could let out hair down. You’ll see us next week guys!

Ordered takeawy saturday evening and sorry to say we were dissapointed. Both the garlic rice and keema rice was very oily with not much taste and the 3 curries were nothing special. The popadoms and dips were lovely. Nice touch to get 25% doscount for orderong early evening.

Visited on a number of occasions. Very friendly staff, great service, great selection of food. Food comes in good time and is high quality.

Came here with a work colleague on business. Service was very good, no one annoyed us and let us get on with our meal. The food was absolutely top! I would recommend this place. Well done to the owner and his staff for looking after us! We will be back soon.

Use this place all the time great food, great staff always welcoming. Decor could be a bit smarter but that would add to the price which is always great value. Take your own alcohol here and settle back and enjoy

Had dinner there with a couple of friends and we loved the place! The food was beautiful and flavoursome and service was extremely pleasant! I love Indian food but I tend to be suspicious because of my allergies however i need not worry. The waiter was well informed about ingredients for every dish and was happy to attend to my concerns. Overall an excellent atmosphere and a superb experience. I shall definitely be popping in again! :)

I'd never eat there again the man was very rood and I'd never eat there again I'd ask for not hot curry and it was so hot when I said it was wrong I asked for a curry not hot . He said I give u some yoghurt he said we won't charge u for that and as we couldn't eat our meal he said we stil got to pay for it after we said we didn't want hot curry never again

We went here for a balti on a whim and it turned out to be very good indeed. The place was clean, the waiters friendly and talkative and the food was good and cooked quickly. The price was reasonable, too. Recommended.

We had a fantastic bank holiday evening at the jewel with family of 10. Was busy at the time when we arrived but that didn't stop Abdul ( manager)to look after us at busy hours was very helpful choosing our dishes but I would recommend this one dish which Abdul chose for me a murghi biryani from ala carte section which was amazingly delicious best biryani iv ever had if Abdul didn't point that out to me then I wouldn't have known only problem is u can't have it as a takeaway but worth dining in . Price wasn't bad at all ,Overall happy with service and food highly recommended . Not bad keep up the service and will be back for more .

Decided to come out with my friends for a meal and was recommended the Tandoori Golden Curry. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal, it was a perfect strength - not too hot and not too sweet. Perfect for chicken lovers. I was also shocked at how fast the service was and how welcoming the staff were. Despite it being very busy, the customer service was never dropped. I will definitely be returning.

Booked Indian meal as a change over xmas what a great choice we made. Party of 9 catered for no problems, the menu was great plenty of choices for all. I choice tandoori fish starter wow great best ever tasted, then a special house Balti wow what taste. All 9 of us enjoyed our food with one of the party who only ever eats steak had the best T bone steak he as ever had, please support these guys they are top class professional courteous people. Serving top quality food in the centre of Willenhall.

Amazing food! Amazing staff. Fast service. Been here many times. I've taken all my friends and family. And we've all loved it. My favourite is tandoori murgi mass with a keema nan. This is the highlight of my week !! I've tried nearly everything and every dish has been beautiful!!

As my first ever review on trip adviser went to the Jewel last night at honestly was the worst food I've ever had curry.. All the curry was the same colour.. Chick peas are not supposed to be a bright res colour. Manager said to me if I knew you was Asian girl I would have told the chef to cook the food different. I wouldn't even rate it a 1. I'm very appalled at the food.

We have a takeaway delivered,It always arrives promptly and always pipping hot, the service is great, the food is super I highly recommend, Will visit the restaurant for special occasions, we look forward to it.

After a period of upsetting news and sadness,we thought it would be good to have an evening to cheer us all up.The Jewell was our choice and did not disappoint.Food and service was outstanding.So much so that one of our party requested the opportunity to meet with the 'back room' staff to thank them for their culinary skills. We visited here on Wednesday night, have been a few times before. I have to say that we were greatly disappointed, they seem to have completely changed their recipes and food and I can't say that it was for the better, used to love the onion bhajis but these were very disappointing as they were totally different, also we had a garlic fish dish that was covered in a curry sauce this was disgusting, when the curry sauce was scraped off the fish was grey and watery, not nice at all, really wouldn't recommend and won't be going again

Tonight was a rush so decided to have a takeaway from the Jewel, ordered by phone arrived red hot within 30mins and was absolutely delicious, couldn't fault it thank you

Been a few times now and never let down! Very Tasty hot freshly cooked food. Very reasonable prices. Staff friendly. A little gem in willenhall and visiting again this weekend!

Myself and my family have been before and would recommend trying here. They do a special offer Monday to Thursday of 2 for 1. It is nothing special, but the food is good and reasonably priced. It is not licensed but there is a pub opposite that lets you take the glasses as long as you return them. Give it a try

We visited this place on a Saturday at 6:30.The service was great, quick but not too fast. I was amazed how they got the dishes out all at the same time and didn't make any mistakes or miss any dishes despite all 18 of us.The quality of the food was great, best curry I've had in recent memory, everyone else was in agreement. The bill worked out to £12 per head. Brilliant value. I will most definitely be returning!

My Wife and I got a takeaway from this restaurant for our evening meal. The food was promptly delivered and the taste was even better, an amazing meal with big portion sizes and well priced. All in all a top takeaway so the restaurant must be even better!!!

We eat from here regularly, service is 10/10. Staff are always friendly and willing to accommodate any needs you have. The lamb korma is gorgeous! If dining in, you can take your own alcohol as they haven't got a licence to sell.

The very friendly staff directed us around the corner to an off-licence as we had no idea the restaurant wasn't licenced. The waiter also assisted with menu choices, offering sage advice which was very welcome as it's a big'un. The food was great, really fresh and flavoursome, and we ended up having a really good evening despite being the only ones in the restaurant that night (don't know why!).

Lived in Willenhall all my life and stupidly never visited this restaurant. My wife and I decided we'd like to try somewhere different so after a quick scan on here rang and booked a table.The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the food is superb, I can strongly recommend the chilli fish. I've been passed this restaurant every week without taking any notice but after actually visiting I will certainly be going back.

Looked on trip advisor for a good restaurant. Found the Jewel restaurant in willenhall. Thought I'd give it a try. Well!!! WOW!! The previous comments were spot on. Outstanding service, very generous portions, and the food was fantastic. Full off aroma and flavour. Friendly staff, truly a great find. We will defiantly use the restaurant again. The jewel is our local indian restaurant and the food is always good, but I have to mention the meal I had last night it was amazing I did not want it to end. Lamb shank with garlic and coriander I can honestly say it was the best lamb shank I have ever tasted. If you are unsure what to order I can guarantee 100% you will not be disappointed if you order this.

Never been to the Jewel before but thought we would give it a try and we were not disappointed. We didn't book but we were seated almost straight away. The food and atmosphere was great, it's great you can bring your own drinks as some restaurants do mind (this keeps the bill down)Great price and we found the service to be great with the waiters being very friendly and the management also cheerful and smiling (not seen much nowadays). Will definitely be coming again! :)

went to the jewel as a party six.we had starters,and main meal.i had chicken and mushroom balti which was very good.the others in the party had different meals but all said the food was good.however the service was not so good.not many customers but the service was slow.might give it another try later in the year.

Went here after work for late sit down meal skirting boards need a clean cutlery needs to be properly washed and food was mediocre not has hot in temperature as should be and my egg fried rice looked as if it was triple fried due to how dry and black and my chips looked like they were thrown in a bag from next door I'm sure we won't be going back

We have been visiting this restaurant a few times now and have been very impressed with the quality of the food, the curries are to die for. The only thing that let's the place down is that there is hardly ever anybody else in the restaurant dining. Sometimes, we are the only ones eating and we just cannot understand why as the food is reasonably priced and is lovely. Where are the people? It can be very very quiet sometimes.

I have been going to this restaurant for some twenty years since the original owner the son and now a manager. I have noticed for the last few times there has been some comments under his breath to the staff regarding myself with the new manager and have ignored. He obviously thinks this makes him look clever. it does not! It shows the disregard for loyal customers that is indicative of someone who has no idea of the real reason they have been placed in this position. I will never use this resturant again and will make sure that my views are heard by others. The owners are good customer people. the manager who they have put in charge is not!!!!. Shame on you!!!. I deserve better.!!!..

Really good food, wide choice on menu , very attentive and considerate staff, good decor. Also convenient parking nearby - on Wakes ground .And you can take your own drink.Would recommend to anyone. Willenhall a good central place to meet up for friends scattered around the Black Country.

The Jewel Restaurant is a great find for me. I was invited to eat at the Jewel about 6 weeks ago. I was so impressed with the quality of my food and the friendly service that I returned tonight. This evening we ordered 2 starters, 2 main meals, Lassi drink, peshwari naan, pilau rice and coffee. Amazingly, the bill was less than £30. Great quality food that anyone can afford. I would like to recommend the peshwari naan in particular. Many restaurants are frugal with the coconut, but not so with The Jewel Restaurant, the best peshwari naan so far. I have friends from Chennai, Southern India who are great cooks, so I get to eat great food often. We have eaten out on occasions, but my friends are not easily impressed. However, I am totally confident that they will love The Jewel, when I take them there. I will post their feedback soon :-)

Haven't had chance to go for a curry for a while but went into the Jewel last night . As usual friendly welcome and chat as soon as entering restaurant >>>>they certainly know how to make you welcome.Seated and seconds later fresh poppadums, onion salad and sauces are infront of me !! After a brief catch up order taken (and they remembered immediately what I had which is highly impressive!).Now my order is slightly different and I told them about a trip to Scotland where I was told in no uncertain terms I couldn't have my favourite dish but insisted !! I have a chicken tikka massalla but have it madras hot ---introduced it to many a friend who now love it!! You get the creaminess of the massalla sauce , the flavour of the tikka and the mouth tingling effect of the madras ....highly recommended to one and all. The food was superb with the peshwari nan totally yummy !!So great value , superb food and first class and friendly service make The Jewel the place to go !!

We have been here a few times but yesterday was totally awful - Arrived at 9:00 and literally 16 people in (we had a table of 5).4 members of staff were on.We waited about 10mins before someone even came to ask if we wanted drinks.Ordered food and in fairness the starter came in about 10mins ... so then we waited about 45mins for the main course.In this time, no one came to clear starters or ask if we wanted more drinks ..The table in front of us (2 people) actually walked out due to bad service and waiting along time.Shortly after a waiter came over and removed 2 plates and I asked him "any chance of our meals soon" .. he smiled and said "Hopefully!!!!"Well another 10mins passed and then the food turned up - but obviously as they had not bothered to clean away the dirty plates from the starters this confused things.I asked the waiter who was in charge and he smiled and said "I am" ... I said whats happening things are awful tonight and he just smiled .. At this I pointed out that he shouldn't be smiling and this was a complaint and should be treated as such .. he spoke to me as if I was his friend - to which I explained I was not and I was a customer !!!To be fair he didn't really seem to care.As for the food, it was OK - certainly not the best we have had and to add insult after 1 of the party had nearly finished their main (a tandoori chicken) they came out and said "would you like any mint yogurt with that !! - to which we pointed out was about 10mins too late as she had nearly finished.A short time after another waiter came up (he explained he was doing takeaways and not serving) - explained to him the problems and he said "its not really his problem, he was just checking the food".He also said the restaurant has been there for 30yrs .. WHAT HAS THAT GOT TO DO WITH THINGS !!! ..remember woolworths ... just because something is there for a long time, drop the standards and your customers will walk to the many other Indian restaurants in the area.

Been reading some of the reviews and think some people are being so harsh. Everyone makes mistakes and quite clearly they've tried rectifying the situations that occurred. You can't please all these buffoons I'm afraid. But if your looking for a reasonably priced restaurant with polite staff and a great atmosphere this is the place. The food is exquisite better than most Indians I've tried. The staff are ever so attentive always going that extra mile for you. Can't fault this place whether I went in with my family or a group of friends! Defo worth a try!

Visited with my work friends. Overheard the waiters insulting my friends and me in his native language unbeknown to him I also speak bengali, have to say I felt embarrassed and uncomfortable. Never again

living just around the corner from this restaurant me and my fiance would always pass this restaurant and comment on how lovely the place looks and we simply must try it!We finally decided to give it a go on our anniversary and we were not dissapointed, the service was top class, all the staff there are very friendly and make you feel very welcome answering all our questions and actually making effort with to give us their undivided attention which can be a difficult thing to find in restaurants these days.Our food was also spot on, every dish came out piping hot and was cooked to perfection, and we was told we would have to wait a little longer as my fiance ordered a house special which we didnt mind because we was enjoying the relaxed atmosphere the restaurant provided.Essentially its a take away but the staff and quality of the food make this feel like a top class dining experience.Overall the staff were brilliant, the food was delicious and the price was very cheap making it a worthwhile experience.My only complaint is we never ate here sooner.

The Jewel has been established for well over 20 years, I have lived in Willenhall all my life but this was my first visit and I can honestly say I don't know what I've been missing! From the starter to the main the food was served piping hot and was gorgeous, really tasty! Both myself and my husband thoroughly enjoyed it, service was quick and it would be five out of five if they had not forgotten our drinks but to be fair they did knock the price of the drinks off the bill at the end. Left with the take away menu in hand and a very full tummy!

We visited this restaurant one Friday night purely based on Trip Advisor reviews, and were not disappointed!Staff were very welcoming and helpful and the food was brilliant. Could not have been better. Lots of interesting special dishes on the menu too. Will definitely be back!

A favourite restaurant for us but just discovered that they have a special 3 course offer for Thursday and Sunday at £8.95. Availed ourselves of that today and it was fab. Good portions, well cooked and flavoured, good service and take your own alcoholic drinks. Excellent.

I visited this Indian restaurant with the family and was made very welcome. We was shown to our table and the waiter went though the menu with us and told us about the specials starters and mains. I went for mixed kebab starter which was fantasic hot and tasty, and I had chicken bhuna for my main and while we were waiting we got free trial stuff and popadoms and a very hot sauce to try oh and plenty of water lol. Then my bhuna arrived it was perfect very tasty I dident go for desert as I was full after my main meal. All in all very good meal and service. Would recommend best Indian in Willenhall by far. Would I return deffo yes 9/10

This is our local Indian restaurant, the food is fantastic,staff very friendly and very reasonably priced. They also do a fantastic Christmas day lunch. If what you want is not on the menu just ask and they will sort it for you. Makes for a good reasonable priced night out as you can take your own drinks. Gold Star all round

Popped in on a wet and windy Saturday night (10/05/2014) for a quick take away, having chosen The Jewel after reading the various reviews. The staff were friendly and courteous. Ordered a mixed meat starter and mixed meat Madras curry. Waited approximately 10 minutes. Both the starter and main meal were very, very good! The Madras was hot, but not excessively hot. The sauce had a beautiful consistency and was full of prawns, chicken and lamb and for those with a healthy appetite, there was plenty there. In conclusion I will most definitely visit again and would honestly recommend this restaurant.

We go there once a month as part of our pub crawl and end up at the jewel at the end of night. They serve some really tasty dishes. Nice clean place will definitely recommend this place.

Visited The Jewel Balti after reading good reviews. Visited Sat 8th Feb, not many other diners in ,service okay but my chicken sagg balti was bland . Will not be returning. Good point not licensed so can take your own wine or beer

Have been there 5 times after I wrote a review for this place and I have to admit the food just gets better and better each time I go back, maybe that is why I keep going back. Our last visit here was when I went for my brothers 40th and there was a party of 30 of us and the way these guys looked after is absolutely priceless. The staff made an extra effort in looking after us and sure we were a wild bunch but they handled us great service. Even though it we was a big party the food did not decline and the food timing was perfect, it just goes to show the service is still up to scratch. They never seem to disappoint us, the service and food is 5 star, thank you guys for a great meal again. Good luck on the New Year.

The food was delicious, we made a effot with dressing up and we expected a bit more of a happier environment it was to casual for me and the family

We've been there a few times as we are regulars at there other places.The menu and food is similar to their other places and both just as good as it each other.The friendly staff lift the service to another level and really makes up for the atmosphere, try the chilli fish or their lamb shank dishes really amazing.If you're stuck and don't know what to have ask the waiters as they are really helpful. You can take your own alcohol which is an added bonus also parking is a problem so you can park on the gypsy lane car park or opposite the police station. I would definitely recommend this place.

My partner and I made a last minute decision to go out for a meal. We were made to feel very welcome.The restaurant was warm and well laid out.The most important thing is the quality of the food and it did not disappoint! We both had different dishes and they were both equally as good! I would recommend it to anyone and we will be making a return visit.

My friends and myself eat here regularly, it is the best Indian Restaurant in the Midlands.I try a different meal each time I visit and they are all top class. Friendly service, No waiting around, but we usually take our time and enjoy the evening. The Lobster Samarkand is great, although it is difficult to choose as all choices are brilliant. Take your own bottle as they do not have a license, this does help make the evening a reasonable price.Although it is on the main road, there is plenty of parking around.Please try it a soon as possible. They are very fast with their take away deliveries also.

Its been a few years since I have been here and what a change, the décor, layout and whole place was not something I remembered.They have obviously spent lots on the place and it looks very good, but what about the food ... well I found this to be top notch also.Service was quick, staff were friendly.Maybe the indian restaurant has gone full circle ... years ago going out to eat was a pleasure ... then came the balti houses of sub standard food and tacky décor and now once again a pleasure (well certainly here anyway).Well recommended.

Went in there at midnight for a sit down with my boyfriend, And I got a say the food was fantastic. one of the waiter helped my boyfriend out with a realy nice hot curry which he fancied and it came out just the way he wanted it off the menu . I have to say they know what there doing , as for me I went for a chicken korai which is my favourite dish were ever I go I always have the same dish and it was lovely at this place. Do try the chicken korai here as I realy liked it here. Overal I give 9/10

Staff polite and the surroundings were good.I had a chicken starter which was recommended by the manager. it was a large chicken drum stick in a spicey sauce. disappointing as the chicken drum stick was raw in the middle. I will say it was removed straight away and I was offered a replacement which I declined the main course was ok.The manager was quite appolgetic and did not charge for the starter. A little carless with the starter but worth a visit I think and not bad value for money

I have been visiting the Jewel in Willenhall for many years but after an enforced break I was looking forward to a return visit at the earliest opportunity and that opportunity was not wasted tonight.It may be located in the desert of Willenhall, one of the poor relations of the Black Country but please take the opportunity for yourself to visit The Jewel, you will not be disappointed!I have written reviews on two of the best respected Indian Restaurants in both Wolverhampton and Walsall but believe me when I say that THE JEWEL REPRESENTS THE BEST VALUE FOR MONEY.Pleasant staff provide friendly and efficient service.A wide ranging comprehensive Menu means that you WILL find something to suit you.Take your own drinks and save even more money.As I was eating alone I was able to indulge myself in my own favourites.Starter.....Nargris KababMain........Chicken Tikka Byriani, with Nan Bread.Served fresh , hot and very tasty.Cost for all £11.80, brilliant and at least £5 cheaper than at other named Restaurants.DON'T MISS OUT...................SEE FOR YOURSELF, you will not be disappointed.

Been there after been told the owner of this place is the same owner as the curry lounge wolverhampton, the food and the service is just as good as the one in wolverhampton, it is a pitty it doesn't look as posh as the other one but the food is awesome.The menu is the same with a few differences but just as good.I definitely recommend this place as it is a nice change from the city restaurants, you feel very welcomed there and the staff are very polite and pleasant. This place is unlicenced so you can take your own alcohol- an added bonus!

Went with family and friends and had a very enjoyable evening. Nice atmosphere and very good indian food. Lots of dishes we have never seen before. Take your own beer, but they prefer you to purchase their soft drinks. £88 for 5 hungry adults and 2 children.Overall, a very enjoyable Saturday evening experience.

Called in here before going to a gig. The service is great, it is not licences but you can take your own drink, they don't charge you for bringing it in, some do.The food was of good quality, whilst not spectacular and the dips with the poppadorm were a bit fluorescent!they do an interesting menu, there is one section where you can have two small portions of two different curries in a special dish. Quite impressed.

This is a second attempt at writing a review for the Jewel..... lets see if TA censors this one. I went to the Jewel after its manager had seen many of my reviews on TA and invited me (at a 20% discount), to try his food.i went un announced with no intention of asking for my offered discount, the food was OK, not great, but not awful, service was smart and attentive and in general it was good VFM. Is it up there with the best.......... no sorry....... but it's a lot better than the worst !

My family are huge Indian food fans and have eaten in most local restaurants but keep coming back to the jewel! We even went there for Christmas dinner!.. The food is great and good value and the staff are fantastic, best balti around if you ask me! and the tandoori lamb shank is amazing... well worth a visit!
