Shireen's in Walsall

Outstanding chicken achari and prawn passanda here at good prices. They even threw in free rice for us on our takeaway. We very much enjoyed it here.

It's not perfect. Nothing is in lockdown. But that isn't the point, is it? The point is the food was hot, well cooked, full of flavour and really well packed for the ride home, after I opted to collect. There is a small discount for public sector employees on at the moment, and the venue itself was spotless, quiet, and thoroughly COVID safe. Minor niggle: Poppadoms weren't huge and a little roughed up from the journey. Although I'd be whinging if they'd been chewy but intact, so you can't have everything. Many plusses, including: Beautiful Rogan Josh and punchy Vindaloo were the highlights, but a lovely Biryani helped and the side dishes were lovely. Naans were hot and well cooked, well wrapped up too against the chill night air. All the basics were done very well, and although it's pricey, it's worth it for an occasional treat.

The staff went above and beyond for my family and myself yesterday. Everyone commented about how polite and attentive the staff were. The food was amazing, they catered for my mother's allergies perfectly and there were clear plates all round. This is by far the best restaurant in Aldridge.

Just a bit rubbish to be honest. Curry tastes like Italian chicken - all tomatoes, no spice and actually all tomatoes apart from a bit of chicken, veg pakoras bland, beef noodles had pork in - not beef, wasabi prawns undercooked and powdery, masala chips undercooked and soggy. Such a shame as you can tell there’s flavour there just not executed well this time. Hopefully if we went to the restaurant it would be different but got an uber eats. Maybe don’t put crispy prawns and chips in plastic Tupperware - It doesn’t travel well. Shame - was really excited to try this place but we’ll a miss in future.

We visited as part of the eat out to help out scheme and despite being very busy, everyone was very friendly and the service was great. We were particularly impressed by some of the vegetarian dishes we ordered (especially the daal). If you’re vegetarian, this is the best Indian in Walsall/Sutton. The meat options were also good.

Would recommend as having eaten in a lot of establishments within the local area I would highly recommend it

Had a great experience on ordering a take away from here, arrived to pick up a few minutes before and was all ready for me. Food was all piping hot and all was very fresh. I ordered a tandoori mix grill main and came with a salad which I was very pleased about. Over all it was a great meal and will be using again

Ordered via Just Eat and picked Royal Shireen as it was top of the list for reviews but the lamb curry was very fatty with small pieces of meat and not much of it and my wife's chicken was not great either.

Ordered takeaway from Khimuk 26-06-2020. Surprised to find it takes 30 minutes to cook, despite ordering at 5:03 PM. Arrived a few minutes early and kept waiting a little while until ready. Chicken Dupiaza and a portion of chips. On getting it home, chips had been pre cooked, warmed up and were undercooked and floppy. Dupiaza was undercooked, meat hard not soft as should be and a very small portion. Poppadoms provided and again not fresh, obviously cooked some time ago and not crisp and snappy as should have been. 3 dips, tiny portions. All in all disappointing and not a patch on other similar restaurants we have purchased from. Sorry, won't be going there again.

Decided to give Khimuk a try......never again, over priced rubbish! See photos popadoms all smashed korma had leaked all over the other good and yes this was delivered by Khimuk, add yo that it was over 45mins later than they said, the Thai Chicken with Cashew nuts was just that nothing else except a greasy watery liquid! Portion size is also tiny compared to almost every other local curry house and more expensive. Best advice I can give you is avoid,

We ordered a take away. Quick delivery of food and friendly service. We ordered startes and mains and all the food was delicious. For starters we had a mixed grill & fish pakoras...would highly recommend. Mains we had a lamb and chicken dish...spice and flavours really hit the spot and their cheese nan was lovely too.

Terrible food god awful service. Never had a curry that bad. Everything lukewarm chips were soggy. Barely any chicken in the dishes, onion bharjis weren't even resembling of one. Would never use again and would advise everyone else to do the same. 2 and half hours late for pre booked delivery time, 7.30pm turned up at 10pm, rang and rang yet only answered the phone once when it was 2 hours late. Not sure if they are fully to blame for delivery or just eat but the food was still awful

Had my first takeaway from here recently and was given someone else’s order. Wife phoned to point this out and was told it was our fault for collecting the wrong order! How could that be I asked?when I was handed this by the kitchen staff . At least they apologised and sent out someone to swap the order. Food was acceptable too.

We first used Khimuk last summer and were very disappointed. The food took over and hour and a half and when we got it home, there were items missing. We decided tonight to give it another chance - big mistake! Initially it was only 15 minutes later than the advertised 55 minutes but when it came, the starters were cold and the batter on the prawns and pakora were soggy. Then we realised that they had forgotten the rice. We phoned immediately and despite only living 5 minutes from Khimuk, we waited another 40 minutes for the rice. And when we phoned, we were greeted with rude staff. We will definitely use any other Indian restaurant in Aldridge in the future.

I came here yesterday for a birthday meal with my work friends and the staff was amazing! Starters came promptly and the rest of our food was amazing. Upon visiting this restaurant after hearing so many good things I decided to visit with 5 friends, we had a lovely meal, hats off to the staff they were really welcoming even though it was busy but they attended to our every need. Great price and good range of food on the menu especially for vegetarians as they offer a wide range of Qourn. Totally blown away will definitely be coming back.

As a regular i have always felt welcome and at home. Been visiting Shireens with family and friends since the opening. The service has always been excellent from friendly and helpful staff. Food is delicious, never been disappointed and great value for money!
