Excellent atmosphere to have food with family. Service was great. We need a place like five rivers in Walsall

The best Indian restaurant in the midlands, the food, service and atmosphere are always fantastic!

Service was faultless. Booked a last minute table for 3 on a Friday night and the restaurant accommodated us well Throughout the evening the staff were consistently on point, with their service. The food for all 3 of us was a let down bar, the Lobster starter, that in itself was sweet and delicious. My salmon although presented beautifully was overcooked, the prawn Malabari prawns dish, tasted similar to heinz tomato soup. I'm not at all suggesting this is what made the base of the dish just providing a comparison. We unfortunately could not taste the coconut described in the dish beyond a strong tomatoe base. We did request the food to be cooked with extra spice but alas, to no avail. The restaurant itself is beautiful the food is very reasonably priced but unfortunately again the food we tried was not great. With stiff competition there are other Indian restaurants I would recommend. Udays, Roti Pani and Dosa Hut. Agreed, the restaurants mentioned are not fine dining but the food is consistently good. The better alternative would be Varnasi in Birmingham. Fine dinning and beautiful Indian food. We didn't stay for deserts. Give Five rivers a try decidefor yourself.

I liked the food as well as the ambience, Dhruv served us the best cocktails in the entire universe.

Food was cooked to perfection, nothing was overcooked or undercooked. Quality ingredients. However, all my mates found the dishes way too salty and didn’t enjoy them. Food and drinks are nicely presented. The prices here are about double of that in a normal curry house. Service is nice, restaurant nicely decorated, but it is way too quiet, not many customers even for dinner.

We had a good choice of food and drinks. A decent atmosphere in the restaurant a good piano player as well .My wife and our friend were celebrating their birthdays and they thank you for the cheese cake and good wishes.

Five Rivers Á La Carte offers a delightful fine dining experience with delicious and high-quality cuisine. Whether dining in or opting for takeout, the food is consistently fresh and flavorful. Personally, I've been a loyal customer for many years since the restaurant first opened , indulging in their delectable dishes both at the restaurant and through delivery at least once a week. My go-to dish, the Karahi paneer, never fails to impress, and the award-winning Punjabi saag is a close second. The naan breads are always a highlight, boasting a delightful freshness that perfectly complements any meal. While the starters, particularly the tawa tikki with chaneh, are a delicious way to kick off the dining experience, I do find the portion size of the naans a bit small. However, aside from this minor critique, the food consistently exceeds expectations with each visit. As for service, there's room for improvement, but it doesn't detract significantly from the overall dining experience. Overall, Five Rivers Á La Carte delivers first class cuisine that satisfies the palate and keeps patrons coming back for more.

So I had always loved this place. When I heard they were doing takeaways I told my hubby this is what I want for mother's day please! No cooking. We told them food was for kids and not to make it spicy. I've never had an issue whilst there. So wasn't expecting any while ordering a takeaway. The food arrived and it wasn't fit for purpose. We spent £60 and it all went in the bin. I had to get up and cook for the kids. Mother's day ruined! We contacted them and a woman apologised and offered us one free dessert on our next visit. I've ordered alot over the years. And this was a slap in the face. Any other place would have sent a replacement out then and there. They first argued it wasn't spicy until I said I'd bring it in for them to taste! They ruined mother's day Took £60 I still had to cook! As the food was so spicy it was inedible even for me! Thanks but I will be taking my business elsewhere! A real shame as I did really like their food. But service means alot and it wasn't there!

Upon entrance had a warm welcome by staff only to view the high end decor. Drinks/food quality and service was amazing and topped off by the amazing pianist - if you have not tried five rivers, your really missing out. Great food, excellent service. Equally as good as meals we have eaten in London and Birmingham so a great find in Walsall. Mayank was very attentive and gave good advice regarding the menu.

Limited parking but long stay car park near by which is free after 630PM. Good food but pricey.

Best Indian restaurant on the Midlands!

Great food top service one of the best fine dining restaurants in the midlands

This restaurant is wonderfully overwhelming as you walk-in because you feel like it is a special venue with a grand piano, huge bar and spaced tables. The food is very good. The service is awkward. For example, as I was nearing to finishing my starter, the waiter asked if I’d finished and I say not yet, pointing to the last piece. He replied that my mains were waiting and then cleared the starter. Odd. The service seems nervous and as though the waiting staff have never been a customer in a restaurant.

I visited here for an engagement party recently and its such a beautiful venue. There was a pianist playing which added to the vibe. There was a wide variety of food served to suit all, and the drinks were also very tasty!

Five Rivers is a firm favourite for celebrations and tonight did not disappoint! A standout during my visit was Ricky. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely went out of his way to make the experience memorable. He made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. Ricky’s attention to detail really added to the overall experience, making it feel personal and special. As always, the food was equally impressive with the tandoori jhinga, lamb chops&saag punjabi being the favourites!

Went here for dinner for the first time, was sceptical as the menu doesn’t have ‘the classics’ and I am a fussy eater. The food was beautiful, cocktails came with a bit of added drama, which we loved and the service was impeccable. Definitely recommend to try, we’ll be going back for some point in the future. 10/10.

We’ve come to the conclusion that Five Rivers surpasses all Indian restaurants in Birmingham and we’ve tried a few! The service is impeccable and the food is delicious. Jason was a great host. Can I suggest whatever you’re doing just keep doing it!

Was taken to five rivers for my birthday. It was my first experience of a la carte Punjabi cuisine. Can’t recommend them highly enough everything was first class, especially at the end of the evening,when the young waiter on realising it was my birthday rushed off to the kitchen to then return with a beautiful little cake. All in all a fabulous evening in a fabulous restaurant

This restaurant is our go to place for special occasions. It has an upmarket vibe from the impeccable service to the wonderfully presented food Our 4 friends who had never been here before were all suitably impressed.

As always beautiful environment, lovely staff and incredible food. We booked a table for 10 to celebrate a milestone birthday with friends. We had a wonderful evening. My only improvement would be to recommend more staffing for the restaurant when there are big functions booked upstairs. We found service good but slow, needing to ask to order drinks, menus, food, pay etc the and all room much longer than usual. No complaints about he food and staff were hard working doing their best. Thank you for a lovely evening overall :)

This was our first visit, booked as a surprise birthday dinner because I had heard really good things about the food. The restaurant did not disappoint, the food was fantastic, freshly cooked, great flavour and portion sizes. The staff were friendly and very attentive. Definitely recommended.

The menu is small, but each dish is crafted with great care. The presentation, décor, and staff are exceptional. I’ve been a regular at Five Rivers since 2014, and they even catered our wedding. Highly recommend. The downside: the Glaab-Jaman Cinnamon Crème Brûlée, which was their secret weapon, has been taken off the menu. It really needs to make a comeback.

We had five rivers cater for my parents anniversary and mum’s 70th birthday at the Belfry and one word to sum it up was “wow”. Ravi who led the team was exceptional and on hand throughout the whole evening. Nothing was too much. The food though was absolutely fantastic. The initial food tasting took over two hours and we did wonder if the food could be just as good for over 150 people….and it was more than good, it was so tasty and made the whole event even more better. They catered for the children with their special food. The feedback from everyone was the food was so tasty. Thank you to Ravi and your team. You are an asset to Five Rivers! My family booked Five Rivers restaurant for my parents 50th Wedding anniversary on the 27th September 2024. Prior to our visit we contacted Five Rivers and made acquaintance with the restaurant manager Hamza who was amazing! Hamza, literally took care of our booking, from numbers, dietary requirements and even ensuring that allowance on the table was made for a family member with disabilities. Hamza arranged for our celebration of my parents anniversary to be seated upstairs in the mezzanine section that easily accommodated our party of 28 guests, their was a lift onsite so anyone with a disability and our elderly family members did not have to journey up the stairs. The restaurant was amazing, so the setting and ambience was perfect for the occasion. The staff were all extremely attentive and the service was second to none. A review of a restaurant should be about the food, prior to our visit we opted for the Sutlej fixed menu and the food was spot on, 28 people enjoyed the meal and not a single complaint was heard which as you may know is a rare thing when it comes to families and dining. The award winning Saag went down a treat and was a hit with the family, however my own personal favourite was the Mugh Tikka washed down with a pint of Cobra was top notch. The food portions came out in copious amounts, and if anything further was required the team did not hesitate to bring out further dishes or top up what we already had. All in all we had a fantastic time, my parents marked their anniversary with the family in a beautiful setting, and the food could not be faulted. Really appreciate all of Hamza's help and the team for making this a night to remember. My first tripadvisor review because i booked this restaurant on the back of the other tripadvisor reviews i read, and our experience was fantastic so hopefully more of you visit Five Rivers because it really is worth it. Food was good but not exceptional as it usually is. Our reservation was 830 and the dining area was so loud you couldn’t hear yourself think. The piano playing was quite loud and people were talking louder to accommodate this. We were a party of 7 on a large round table and you could only talk to the person next to you as the other side of the table could not hear. It did quieten down later.

They ask if you want popadoms , and do not say they cost, so you like yes thinking the complemantary and at the end they charge you 8 pounds, they also have hefty service charges whicj they do not tell you about. Very expensive place , for the quality.

I have been coming here since day one and still attend as well as get takeouts for small/larger events. Hamza is an absolute legend as are all the staff. Exceptional food and service, the best in my opinion. Everything tastes top tier, the Saag, lamb chops and Fish Pakoreh are michelin worthy. Keep it up!

Great food and service from Harshit

A fabulous restaurant with good attentive and caring service. The food is second to none. It is authentic, tasty, and fresh and has a feel of genuine home cooked food. We were in the area for the weekend attending a wedding and ended up getting a takeaway and brought it back to London. If in the area, definitely give it go. It will not disappoint.

I've always wanted to come here after working with the team on the mobile catering. Absolutely delicious. Never seemed to disappoint when we had staff meals nor have you disappointed today. We celebrated my husbands 40th birthday here and all I can say is WOW what service food and what a venue everything was perfection from start to end and we had a party of 40+ guests and we had nothing but great compliments about the food and dining experience. Hamzah (manager) was amazing and assisted with any of our needs and requests. We also had family members who were coeliac and their gluten allergy was taken very seriously and they were very well catered for. Thank you to all at five rivers for the great hospitality.

The menu has changed since we last came and the onion bhajee used to be amazing but this time it was different and a little soggy instead of crispy… the mains were amazing!

This is one of the best Indian dining experiences in the Midlands. Great food set in contemporary décor. However may not represent the best value for what you’re paying - service can be a little slow at times if it gets busy. Could do with better music and ambience to match the interior design.

Had a great meal on Saturday 17th of August. Was looked after by Dhruv mainly and he did an exceptional job.

Just had a nice meal here with the family. Food and drinks were great especially all the mojitos. Service was excellent, waiters at hand and quick service. The only thing that let it down was the lack of disabled parking which they could have offered from the ample space at front.

Fantastic experience, clean, food was excel and not small in portion. Nothing was too much to ask for the staff and they were excellent throughout.
