Visited a very windy Gwithian beach with our poorly dog as part of a bucket list for her. Saw sign that Jam Pot was open and they accepted dogs. Had lovely coffee, and pumpkin & red pepper soup. Hubby had coffee, and a sausage sandwich. Very reasonably priced and had a fantastic view towards the beach, whilst being kept nice and toasty with the gas fired wood effect woodburner in the little building we were in.

The cream tea is amazing. I had it one day on the beach and the scones are really lovely. My husband popped up from Gwythian Beach to buy and they packaged it up nicely, warmed the scones, gave ample jam and cream. Really nice experience to have cream tea on the beach. Returned a couple of days later to the beach and had a hankering for another cream tea so this time I walked up to get one. Waited by the counter to be served, people behind the kitchen counter were busy but one girl was standing right by it not doing anything. I wasn't attended to, but just as I was about to say something, another customer came in and returned a bowl to the girl by the kitchen counter. She smiled at him, took the bowl, turned around and ignored me. It doesn't take anything to say 'I'll be with you in a moment' if you can't serve in a timely manner. I ended up going to the cafe down the road. When I returned without the cream tea, I explained what happened to my husband and he said he'd had to wait ages as well the previous day. Such a shame because the cream tea is really lovely. Either more staff or better training is needed.

Went here today for lunch based on previous good experience but unfortunately the service was severely lacking! There were four of us, the food came out at different times, a long enough wait for a cheese and tomato toastie then finally after 40 minutes the sausage roll I had ordered came out in a greasy brown paper bag which was practically thrown at me, no plate or serviette! The food was all very nice just a shame about the poor service.

Been visiting the Jam Pot for many years and seen it progress. It is a lovely little cafe on Gwithian Towens, fabulous views across the bay. Excellent value, lovely cakes and good service. They have added a nice front covered area to sit in and shelter from the weather, albeit we didn't use it as it was lovely and sunny! Highly recommended to try.

We have used the Jam Pot on many occasions over the years when we stay in Gwithian and it has always been very good. This quirky little cafe has stunning views over St Ives bay. As we were staying in Gwithian We popped in and ordered a bacon and egg roll, cheese and tomato toasty and a cheese and onion toasty, after 20 mins my bacon roll turned up, didn't want it to go cold so I started it, after another 40 minutes still no toasties, my wife went in to check where they were. They eventually came out after another 15 minutes. Karen was very apologetic and offered us some cake, but we opted for a free can of coke instead, she then forgot to bring it out, when she realised she had forgotten she brought out 2 x £5 gift vouchers. We love the Jam Pot and feel sad that service is letting it down. Maybe if serving hot snacks is an issue, the way forward is cream teas only. We suspect it is under new ownership, as it has had a big extension and all the branding has been changed.

Small cafe with amazing 5 star views. Limited inside seating (3 tables compacted together in main building then another 3 tables in the round building which is quite dark inside) extra tables outside, so on a sunny day its great! We were told upon ordering there was a wait, had we been told it would be over an hour for the bacon & egg butty, we wouldn't of ordered as we only had an hour. After a 70 mins wait, I asked if we could cancel the order but was told it was nearly ready, so we had it as a take away. Sadly, the wait was not worth it. The bacon was nice but strangely the egg had no taste! As a local, I wouldn't go again in peak season, I would give it another try out of season, & maybe give the afternoon tea a try as they were coming out faster than the hot food

Visited twice during our last trip. We had a toastie each which were fab, crispy and gooey and loads of cheese 🤤. Next time we visited we had cream teas which were very generous portion sizes, no scrimping on the clotted cream or jam. It is GREAT value for money, really affordable for a filling lunch/brunch. As it’s one of only 2 options for visitors to Gwithian beach it gets busy, but each time the staff were friendly and very hardworking. I will be looking forward to visiting again, I’ve got my eye on a slice of lemon drizzle cake next time and what a view to scoff it next to!

The Jam Pot has sat above the dunes at Gwithian for decades. Very basic, but when I am away I wish to sit again in its little garden enjoying a snack or light meal and a cuppa. My children and grandchildren feel exactly the same......

Absolutely wonderful visit. The cream tea was the best I think I’ve ever had. Warm scones, huge pot of cream and delicious jam, must be homemade. The tea was piping hot and came with an additional tea bag should you like it strong.

Stayed in one of the adjacent Quarryman's Cottages over Christmas and the New Year and had quite a few meals in the pub. Always got a friendly welcome. Not a bad choice on the menu and sampled quite a few dishes during our visits, all of them well cooked and presented and very tasty. Guest cask ales were also very nice. Couldn't fault the service. Traditional Sunday lunch was also very good, with lots of veg and a choice of roast beef or pork.
