The Ivy Victoria in City of London, Westminster

Between the modern buildings there is a beautiful French restaurant with a very nice atmosphere. We came here for breakfast and were not disappointed. A large selection of sweet dishes and a large selection like cynics 😉 Fantastic service We highly recommend it!

Beautiful and relax setting. Ordered fish and chips. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Friendly staff. My friend got a small gift when they realised it was her birthday. Will be back.

'Mario' with the shaved head and thick black rimmed glasses was incredibly rude and ruined our evening. It was my mother's first night in London and his customer service left an awful lot to be desired. His colleagues were much more polite.

We had a great time with Ève, who took care of us. Very smiling, pleasant and funny, she knew how to adapt to our desires and to our little mastered English. The dishes are excellent and plentiful. All the servers are friendly and create a very good atmosphere. If you come to London, don't hesitate to stop by 😊.

Great place with options for vegetarians. Vegetable tartin tart with accompaniment of fries. And cheese burger and smoked ham. Impeccable service and friendly staff who speak French.

Amongst the towers of glass in Victoria, here is a classic French Bistro, that reminds of me of so many wonderful meals on holiday in France. Simple, classic, French food cooked well, and served by friendly staff in a beautiful restaurant, with a great selection of wines, cocktails and other drinks, a real hidden gem. We had a wonderful early evening meal before heading off to the Theatre. Also, very reasonably priced for London.

The Croque Madame was *chef’s kiss* and the pain au chocolate was fabulous! Our waitress, Eve, made the visit with her excellent customer service and hospitality. I’d recommend to anyone!

A really well appointed large restaurant. We booked on line which was seamless. Warmly welcomed and shown to our table. Menu is fairly standard but extremely well prepared. Good wine list. Service was exceptional even though the restaurantwas full.. Be warned it is a bit pricy but you get good food

We had a wonderful evening last night. We met an old friend who lives nearby the restaurant. The food was excellent and the house red was one of the nicest wines I have tasted for a long time. The evening was made even more special when our son and his two children arrived unexpectedly and the restaurant staff immediately accommodated them by adding another table alongside ours, all this done with a smile on a busy Saturday evening. We will certainly go back again.

Had a delightful brunch here on a Saturday. Had not booked ahead but was lucky as there was room. It gets busy and is relatively small so I would recommend booking. My food met my expectations, and the service was attentive. Will be happy to eat here again.

We had dinner here on a Friday night. The place was very cozy and the food very good. On top of that, our waitress (Eve) was extremely nice and polite. All in all, a very enjoyable dinner, we would definitely come back.

Very good table, we were seated downstairs and the food and service ("il Napolitano") were perfect. Delicious desserts.

We celebrated our daughter's birthday in the most spacious hall of the restaurant. No joke – 18 years is only once in a lifetime. There were a lot of guests, but there was no crowding. The interior is stylish, the table was bursting with gorgeous dishes. Special thanks for the gorgeous dishes and cutlery. The banquet is simply royal!

Went as a couple for an anniversary meal. Long time since I’ve been to the Ivy - the original in West Street - but I have to say I don’t think the Victoria one is anywhere near as good as the original. It was busy, overcrowded with tables squashed in like we all knew each other. We were seated in a corner window table, I had to switch seats with my wife because of the cold draft (early Spring, not pleasant). Our wine was stored in an ice bucket on the other side of other tables and we had to prompt the waiter to top us up. The service was mixed; we had about four different servers, so no real continuity or care. We could see the “famous” Oli N serving the next table, and while I found him completely annoying and overbearing (to build his profile on Tripadvisor I suspect, more than just tips), at least he wasn’t serving us. By contrast, there was no attention paid to us. The food was pretty average - accounting for London prices I still felt like a Pizza Express would have served something similar for about half the price. The chicken in the Milanese was dry and unimpressive. Squid was served in a dish on top of a napkin, making it hard to cut to reasonable mouthfuls. My wife enjoyed her fish cake but the duck liver parfait was more of a pate and the massive chinks of toast were somewhat intimidating for a starter. I really expected more. I refused to pay the “discretionary” service charge because of the lack of service, but that does seem to be something that London has adopted as standard. When did a service charge for a table of two become a thing? I got an apology for the poor service and my dessert was comp’d which went some way to compensate, but the experience pretty much assured that I won’t be trying the Ivy again for a while.

We just spent a week in London and ended up eating breakfast here three times! Excellent flat white and delicious waffles, french toast and egg dishes. Would highly recommend.

I celebrate the milestone of four hundred contributions to Trip Advisor reviews with one that is very special to me. I travel all the time for work so I acknowledge how lucky I am to eat out a lot, visit many lovely sites and stay in all kinds of hotels from the bargain basement to the luxurious. The record is for two purposes - to eek to be helpful to fellow-travelers and as a personal record of places I would otherwise forget. I guess I'm as driven by nostalgia as much as I am by desire. That this review is of Ivy Victoria is less important than the occasion it marks, lovely though it was there last week. I had a falling out with the most lovely friend a year and a half ago and we decided to meet last week nd have early dinner in Ivy Victoria. Eighteen months is a long time when you miss a good friend, so we marked it by coming here, by turning a page, by not mentioning a word of our past differences and by carrying on as though nothing had happened. And it is why Ivy Victoria will be an important place for me, and for my precious friend, from now on. Amen to all that. How was it? it was very good indeed, in its own right. A few important niggles but generally very good. I found it to be much nicer than Ivy Canary Wharf which I visited not long ago. No idea why nut I'm open to it being the occasion. It was already busy at 4.30pm, a half an hour before our date. I was offered a tiny table near the counter which was crammed way to close for comfort to the diners next to it, to their discomfort and to mine. I politely refused it and took a seat at the bar until my friend arrived. Luckily, the restaurant to the rear opens at 5.00pm and we found the best table in the house, a small corner banquette table at the very rear to the left, for two people, but with plenty of room. it made the occasion to be honest. it was far more relaxed, more private and more fun. Service was mixed - the young greeter at the front door looked as though she was bored to death with having to deal with the likes of me - i get it - its very hard work to be enthusiastic all day, but she pulled the cat out of the bag in offering us the table the rear later. The guy at the bar was, to use a kind term, relaxed in his attention too. its a common disease in London. But the table service in the restaurant was superb. The lady who manages here was fabulous as was our wonderful waiter. The food was delicious too and was served with aplomb and with perfect timing. All in all, three hours talking about the future, not the past, over a lovely meal, in a lovely place with smiles and promises to remain close friends henceforth, is a lovely way to mark my four-hundredth contribution to Trip Advisor.

Terrible food. Old bread with gummy escargots prepared w margarine and powdered garlic, stewed lamb like in the army categories, ox cheeks boiled to death in a brown sauce... Never again for food. Decor and wine were good and my companions made the night! Will not return.

The food is lovely. However, the tables for two are far too close together unless you want the table next you listening to your whole conversation and you being forced to listen to theirs. Also the constant upselling from the waiter was not needed and really quite annoying/pushy. If I want a glass of champagne I will order some but the constant asking made us uncomfortable. Feeling abit let down as I usually love the ivy experience but this time it really misses the mark.

I was at the restaurant tonight with my boyfriend. Very good dinner but the most important thing was Eva's service, who made us happy with her professionalism and kindness. We will definitely come back to this restaurant on our next London holiday!

Had an early Sunday supper here with a friend and we loved it. First class service, food was very good and price not ridiculous for London. Nice buzzy atmosphere. Worth visiting just to visit the ladies loo on the upper floor!

Nice food, very c’ose to a french bistrot, but the service is a bit slow. Overall was a good experience. It is quite noisy .

Nowhere near as good as I was hoping for. The French onion soup was tepid with the cheeses just melting lumps. The apple crumble was in fact apple pie the service was efficient, nearly too efficient as someone tried to take away my friend’s soup bowl before he’d finished! I’d really wanted a nice French dining experience, and for the price they charge, I should’ve had one, but we didn’t.

Wonderful find! Found on google and decided to try due to good reviews. Didn’t disappoint. Delicious food, wine and home made desserts! It’s a small place that gets full so recommend booking.

Hands down the best onion soup in town (even better than those we had in Paris!) Very reasonably priced authentic french food, great ambience and attentive service. Love it so much that I came here for our anniversary. We will keep coming back.

Terrible experience sadly - in fact it would have been funny if we hadn't been paying.. the courses arrived in wrong order, food was cold so we sent it back & it came back cold again. The linguine was terribly overcooked and also cold. Really very disappointing - avoid if you can

I was sat upstairs with my friend, all the sudden the place was packed, and I said to my friend there is no chance we will get a good service and fast meal here, but let me tell you the server went beyond our expectations , she would non stop was going from one end to the other, we just enjoyed looking at her multitasking duties, she came first to the table and we were not ready to order so she said when you are ready try to get my attention by looking at me WOW, she was something else, Everytime i needed her here she was looking at me, amazing!!!! Really lovely place, kinda in the middle of buildings. Sat outside, they had heaters and covering, and enjoyed a couple of drinks, apps and soup. I will say that they did get busy during happy hour and forgot to bring my dinner plate, but the apps and soups were great and overall a good experience.

I had the oxtail and my wife had the roast chicken. Both were excellent. We shared the chocolate cake for dessert. She's celiac, and all the dishes were gluten free. Good cocktails too.

We visited on Monday evening to a fairly busy restaurant but there were still some empty tables. We were greeted with the usual Ivy hospitality and taken to our table very promptly. From here the evening experience went downhill. We waited over 90 minutes for our main course which was mediocre at best. No apology or explanation for the unacceptable delay. We were Ivy regulars but sadly this experience has made us look elsewhere for quality food.

This place has everything to be good but the service and the arrogant staff step in the way. The management of the orders, the tables and the service itself steps in the way. Food comes fast, with good portions, it’s at a good location and decoration with good music but when service fails…

Louis welcomed us with a big smile, this pleasure of being served comes from the staff who love their job. We will come back !

I really enjoy to go for a glass of wine after work. The staff is friendly and polite at all times, and they are happy to recommend wines based on your preferences.

In summary Initial service ok, service for rest of time at table poor. Toilets smelly (female), not clean in places (male). Up sold due to being a male or larger when I know what I wanted to order. No where near value for money, even factoring a london premium. Only reason not 1 star is family members food was better quality.

We had not previously been to Chez Antoinette and were keen to find a new (to us) French restaurant. We were delighted with everything about Chez Antoinette. The decor, ambience and service were authentically French as was the menu itself. The food was extremely good as was the service. We would definitely recommend Chez Antoinette to anyone who would like a top quality, and authentic, French meal and dining experience; and we are fussy about this ourselves.

We were in London to see wicked as part of my wife’s birthday and booked to have dinner here before hand . The restaurant is only a short walk to the theatre . We received a warm welcome and were shown to our table by the young lady at the front desk . The interior decoration is very nice and there is a nice ambience to the place . We had looked at the menu online before hand so there were no surprises . We kept it simple and had the fish and chips which were fine . The house rose was decent enough and I just stuck to a beer . Our waiter was friendly enough without being overly attentive , we are not the type who need to be fussed over . He did explain about the app once we had paid our bill . Only mistake we made was getting some bread for the table before our mains came , it was basically a large round loaf (nice ) but enough for four people . There is a service charge of 13.5 % added to the bill and this seems pretty standard all over London and something I’m not a fan of .. we do always tip but I much prefer to give any monies straight to the person who looked after us . It’s something I’ve noticed starting to creep into restaurants and bars in Glasgow . I’m sure there must be a reason? . Overall we had a nice time and perhaps I will visit the one on Buchanan street in Glasgow .

The service is really bad here. The waitress is very slow and when I follow up for a croissant, they dont even have the decency to give it. I’ve been waiting 1 hr for a croissant which isn’t even hard to give. Additionally when the food came, it tasted really bland and not okay. This French girl who was the waitress is just unmotivated

This is one of the few restaurants that I actually want to visit again (I’m literally going there this weekend for the second time 😄), and a rare occasion where I felt like trying all the dishes on the menu. The food was full of flavour, the service friendly and quick, the house wine very nice, and the prices reasonable. I really enjoyed the vibe as well because it reminded me of those typical French bistros. I will be definitely coming back to this restaurant a lot. Highly recommended!

The Ivy always delivers. I am currently using a walking stick, and the staff were very attentive, and made sure I could get to my table easily. The food was excellent, and service was great. Ibwill definitely be returning.

Fantastically crispy french fries which you will want to order 5 of… came here as my partner loves croque monsieur and Chez Antoinette did not disappoint one bit, they are very attentive and accomodating and we could not be more impressed. We had an excellent lunch at Chez Antoinette, with great service (and wonderful cocktails!). It felt very French and had a pleasant ‘buzz’ in the restaurant. We felt the menu had a good range of choices without being overwhelming (or suspiciously long). Nice to find an independent restaurant just a little way beyond all the usual chains. The tables are really close to each other and you can overhear other people's converation. Really not an ideal place for a romantic date... The food is just alright.

Lured in by the high rating. Ordered ox cheek - meat was cold, seemed to rely on the sauce to heat it but doesn't work when it is very fatty.Rest of dish was ok but very pricey for what was served. Giovanni was an excellent server—a perfect ten! He went above and beyond to ensure that our breakfast visit to celebrate my mother's birthday was a success. We have no complaints about the meal, beverages, setting, or staff. After the breakfast, Giovanni surprised my mother with a fresh cream and chocolate choux pastry. We will definitely return!

Our waiter provided amazing customer service, was friendly, attentive and all on their first day as well! You’d never have guessed. The food was delicious and plenty of gluten free options for myself. We had an early reservation after a matinee show but there was still a good atmosphere and it was very cosy and authentic. We will be back when we’re next in London

This has been on my list for years and it absolutely held up to my expectations. The food is fresh and, of course, any bread and cheese combination is good but this was amazing. I highly recommend getting a few plates to share and enjoying the cozy atmosphere and good food.
