Saturday evening was our first visit to Quaglinos. It did not disappoint! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The live music was great! The cocktails were lovely - even the non alcoholic ones!! Thank you to Jonathan for looking after us so well. We will be back again very soon!

Came here for a birthday dinner, atmosphere really nice, music excellent, tables and decor lovely. However I’m afraid food came us semi-cold, steak overdone and overall it was …. Just average. After a hiccup with tables, staff were overall pleasant. You cannot have your cake and eat it too. We brought in birthday cake which we couldn’t eat 😂.

We booked the private room in March, signed a contract and paid a £2500 deposit for a black tie event in October. Four days before our event, Quaglino’s rang to tell us they had double booked and could not honour our booking. We ended up at another venue, behind the bar in a roped off area. When we emailed Quaglino’s they did not even bother to reply. Appalling customer service.

Great atmosphere but it's expensive for what it is.

Had a lovely evening/experience at Quags tonight, not for the first time, it never disappoints. Slightly limited in Vegan options but otherwise 5 stars for everything else. Joan was particularly lovely and professional, thank you for your advice/suggestion, it was delicious and may even have convinced me that Mushrooms are actually alright! Even if you just go for a drink or two at the bar you’ll get a good taste of Quaglino’s and its atmosphere. Handy for the London library too, if one is inclined.

Nice atmosphere and music but in terms of group dinners, not great / organised when it comes to splitting the bill. On my birthday, Despite my attendees paying for their meal, I was still left to pay over £80 that was left over, in addition to the £80 I had to pay for my own meal. Not sure how that happened and it really put a downer on what was supposed to be a lovely birthday celebration. I've chased up since via email and call and no reply and this was about 3 weeks ago. So yeah. Good for groups no more than 3-4 people I guess otherwise anything more means calculating the cost gets confusing and the staff don't help you with that.

We had dinner before the show, and there really wasn’t any atmosphere to speak of, luckily we were a group so entertain ourselves, Even if we had been there for the show, our table was completely obscured by the bar. I wouldn’t return - we paid for food at the prices someone who wants a show without getting an actual show. The food itself was okay, but definitely not worth the price.

Visited for a 40th birthday, service was unbelievable, nothing was too much for them. Live singers were amazing, this place has real class, feels like being transported into an 80's jazz bar. Steak cooked to perfection.

Atmosphere was OK a little to loud for me, the singer was good, again not something I personally enjoy whilst eating and the music charge is crazy. Genuine question why do you charge? You as a restaurant charge enough for what can only be described as average food. The starter of Scallops was tasteless. I had the fillet steak and pomme frites with peppercorn sauce and again was poor, nothing special about it. The sauce was overbearing. I eat alot of steak and I am yet to find a steak that is better cooked than that of The Steak lounge or Mabels in Leicester. The staff are lovely though and very attentive and the service charge again something I don't agree with as we pay people a wage in this country. I don't mind if the service is good which in this case was. The people on the door and front desk were also lovely and polite.

Very nice atmosphere, great food, and very friendly staff. The best part of dinner for me was the dessert (a vanilla soufflé with ice cream).

Our waiter Akash P. was lovely and attentive. But they were short staffed so service was slow. The steak tartare was very tasty. I asked for pink beef for main course but it wasn’t pink. And the roast potatoes were not crispy at all. The lemon brûlée was delicious. The soul music was great vut we were seated where it was too loud. The place was 3/4 empty. BUT…when we booked we didn’t realise there was live music on. I tried to cancel the reservation a couple of hours later when we realised but they refused to cancel for free. They were going to charge £25 pp for cancelling 23 hours in advance and they wouldn’t budge on this. I was really shocked by this. So we attended reluctantly.

We booked at 3.30pm the day before our booking (24 hours in advance). We called 2 hours later to cancel as changed our minds and they refused to waive the £25pp cancellation fee. When we arrived it was clearly because they didn’t want to lose the money as they can’t fill the space. I’ve never had a restaurant refuse to let you cancel within a few hours of booking. And the food was extremely disappointing. Would not recommend.

I usually never give reviews but I had to for this one. It was an amazing experience! The music, the atmosphere, the food and the server. Please please please ask for Joan to serve you, she is the most amazing server!

Went here for a birthday dinner and it was 10/10! Food was absolutely incredible. I would recommend the salmon for the starter and the sea bass main. Our waitress for the evening Joan was absolutely amazing. The service was exquisite and she was attentive throughout the night. Can't recommend more!

60th birthday. My family took me here for 60th birthday treat . On arrival.shown to.our table seated and didn't realise they had started the stopwatch . Daughter couldn't decide on food suitable for her 7 year old daughter so took 10 mins I suppose . Anyway has starter and main wich was rushed .I went to.the rest room. On return as I sat down the waitress said sorry we can't give you a desert menu as you have no time to finish it before your time is up to vacate the table. Shocking . We was kinda rushed out of there . Felt terrible take ya money and get out. We won't be returning here for sure . Food was nothing special.

Unfortunately had to update my review from a 5/5 to 2/5. When you see waiters whizzing around not giving you the time of the day to make an order, rushing through their service - you know there’s a problem with management of staff. We spent the first 35mins of the night sat with the menus as we watched the waiters whizzing by. Our own waiter was clearly sweating profusely likely from being overworked. When we eventually ordered the food came quickly but cooked to a standard you’d expect from a regular pub. The pièce the resistance was random items added to our bill which wasn’t a lot of money but I pointed them out anyway and the waiter gruffly and unapologetically went to correct it. Sadly from this recent experience I won’t be coming back. Old review from 2020: Phenomenal venue, classy yet cool even during the pandemic. Amazing staff and great cocktail list

Phenomenal experience, I was recommended to come here instead of Ronnie Scott’s…. And I wasn’t disappointed. The interior looks like a movie set, the movie is delicious and the service is unbeatable. We had the pleasure of being hosted by Joan, she was super attentive to every detail and incredibly charming. She made the experience even better. 10/10. Can’t recommend this place enough, we’ll be back

I visited Quaglinos today to celebrate their 95 th birthday! The menu was inspired from 1935 cook book ! We got complimentary champagne and we were treated like princesses ! Staff so attentive to details and so professional! They must look after the staff because all of them had big smile and was very enthusiastic! Can’t wait to visit Quaglinos soon again ! My favourite place in st James London and Mayfair !

After the last time we weren't impressed, been many times before that and always happy, booked again for Sunday 10th November, normally never go back but will give it a last chance , because we really do like the place ..hope it's better

This weekend we have been there celebrating our Civil Wedding, initially Ivan managed our booking and organised everything amazing very professional person the service provided by Claudiu at our private dinner room was excellent we 100% be back if you looking for a private place to have an amazing night have an 10/10 stake, enjoy your own music that’s the place we highly recommend visiting.

Amazing night out with friends.

Quaglino's makes for a great night out. First, go in open minded to what it is, their style of service, the music, and the other guests. You'll find a full range - couples on intimate dates, folx of all ages (likely from the home counties) in glad rags out for birthdays and anniversaries, business meetings, tourists in their day clothes, and my mom and I who enjoy fine dining ... etc. The deco is epic and sets a mood of elegance ... and drinking. The cocktail menu is fun, probably one of my favourites now - and there are non-alcholic options. We came on a jazz standards night and had the set price menu, arriving as the venue opened. This let us enjoy the atmosphere quietly before it really got going at 7pm when servers swirled around with fizz and oysters. People come here for a good time and that's exactly what they offer. Staff is warm and knowledgeable. Fair warning: we both went to the bathroom through the curtains behind the stairs and left thinking 'the acid just kicked in' - the pattern of lights, wallpaper and framing threw us both cross-eyed and wobbly kneed. When we came out the music and josling crowd was disorienting and awakening ... in the best possible way. We will go back eventually for the full menu, with friends, and try some different music and dancing hopefully.

Great atmosphere for dinner and lovely service. The food however wasn't as great as we would expect for the price, so we were underwhelmed by that.

Very welcoming atmosphere, security on door were great and polite, lady who seated us was lovely and helped us with our request which we were very grateful for. However, our waiter was very rushed, from the moment we sat down he said we only had 2 hours so had to take our order ‘now’. I respect the time frame, but didn’t want to feel rushed. The food was amazing, came out quick. We ordered a side each for our main, but you only need one! The atmosphere was amazing, We felt very lucky to be seated at the front, thank you again for this. The entertainment was perfect. We also got a lovely birthday plate, although we were charged for this, which we weren’t aware of? When we paid, at the end of our 2 hours, we asked to move to the bar to finish our drinks and the waiter said ‘if you can find a seat yes’ and we have never had to move our own drinks, especially at a place of this standard. Overall, the rushed service let us down slightly, but this can be overlooked as we loved our experience and the food. Thank you team x

I really love this place, wonderful atmosphere and music and of course there is Roma who suggests the best of drinks and just cheers up the mood, thank you Roma, you are the best!

Nice, classy atmosphere. Live music was very good. Special mention to Marco, our fantastic, attentive waiter. The food - although beautifully presented - was average in terms of taste, and some dishes were disappointing (pumpkin risotto with strong cheese and a slab of shitake mushroom which was cooked with seaweed in order to taste of fish). The main reason for 3 stars is the very slow dinner service: seated at 19.30, starters at 20.30, and the following courses spaced an hour apart.

The music itself was superb with the service being amazing. The food was also quite good. I ordered the chicken dish and thought it was good it was definitely lacking. It was quite dry which is slightly to be expected considering it is breast. All three of my other guests got the same and agreed. To compensate for the dryness of the chicken there wasn’t a lot of the sauce

We tried the fixed menu on Wednesday and it was very good. Steak tartare for started and steak for main - perfectly cooked. Desserts all great and tasty. Luke the master waiter is very polite and ultra attentive!

After living in London for 5 years this is the most overrated, disappointing establishment I’ve walked in. I went for my birthday with 12 people, we were given menus 30 mins after sitting down, after we constantly asked them for menus. There is a set menu that’s £30pp for x2 courses. It says on the menu that’s it is not applicable for tables over 6. But, our waiter said it’s fine and took all of our orders from the set menu. We asked for wine, this came an hour later and starters arrived another hour after the menus came. So we had been there 1hr45mins until any food arrived at all….. we ended up leaving at midnight and as we were so fed up with the terrible service and long wait I got the bill and told my friends to send their share. The next morning I found out that the waiter lied to us and didn’t put any set menus on over 6 people. Otherwise, we’re not total idiots, we wouldn’t have ordered it. So I’m £350 out of pocket for my birthday going here. When I tried to speak to the manager the following day they disregarded me and said email him. I did, he called me and said it’s my fault and the staff are professionally trained. Didn’t realise this meant if you ask for bread and butter they only bring bread and are incapable of taking down an order of drinks to deliver an hour later. But whatever, conned me, ruined what was meant to be a nice day, and the manager is ignorant with no care towards customers. All 12 of us have no intention of returning. I’m looking forward to the restaurants “reply” to this, saying it was a one off and it’s our fault etc 🥱

Lovely atmospheric evening. Such a treat to listen to some live jazz. Couldn't fault the food. Very attentive service, only slight downside and I'm being picky was coffee was luke warm and it took a while to get the bill. But I would give 4.9 out of5 stars. We will go back.

Only went for a drink but had to pour ourselves after the server went AWOL and left our wine 20 metres away in an ice bucket. Update 04/01/24 - is it possible that the service has got even worse? I've removed the 1 star I gave last time as the waiting staff are surplus to requirements. £7 service charge each time they bring you a bottle of wine and then they do nothing to serve you. I had to ask 4 times for more water and my wine glass stood empty twice until I asked them to bring our wine from the ice bucket.

So, booked this for a birthday dinner and I’m so glad I did. The music was amazing a great couple of sets from the Jazz musicians & the food was amazing - the menu seemed confusing slightly but the staff talk you through it, & it tasted perfect. We were swapping meals the whole night because everything was so great. The venue is perfect too. Will be back again and again. Favourite waiter had to be Peter, what an attentive star! Had my birthday party here. Absolutely amazing service, food and music. There is different music every night and we were very fortunate to listen to “Elle & the pockets bell”. Every minute was a joy and we didn’t want to leave. Great value for money

Beautiful presentation and attentive service. We chose cured salmon, followed by a tender chicken ballotine and a passion-fruit cheesecake. All were delicious and the atmosphere was excellent, with live jazz adding a welcome ambience. Will definitely return. Thank you.
