Mediterranean Cafe in City of London, Westminster

A very pleasant welcome on a sleepy Sunday morning. Full English and Eggs Royale were both excellent and great coffee. Friendly staff in a lovely small restaurant.

This is a such a cute hidden gem. It's small but perfect for a dinner date. The atmosphere has a fun vibe to it and everyone is so nice. We enjoyed our food so much ! I was craving Mediterranean food and this definitely hit the spot.

Food is so good , classic Italian taste. Service was great, and cozy family restaurant. Recommend if you are in the area.

The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. It's a cozy restaurant, and you're able to see the chef at work. Pasha was such a wonderful host.

A great cafe/bar in Berwick Street. The staff were very good and friendly, the food excellent and the prices definately not "west end prices". We've been eating there off and on for 10 years and it never fails.

We found this small and inviting restaurant wandering around Soho and were welcomed by the lovely staff and latterly by the owner who we got chatting to. The food was great, the menu mainly based on a Turkish/Greek theme. One of us is a vegetarian and there was plenty to eat in this regard. Would thoroughly recommend a visit to this establishment!

Stumbled across this little place, obviously a favorite eatery for the area.The server invited us in whilst we were looking at the menu on the window. Very happy we took up his offer, good food cooked fresh. Highly recommend.

C'était délicieux !!! Vraiment, je vous conseille ! Le repas était excellent, avec un peu de choix mais sans trop. Le restaurant est très petit donc il est préférable de réserver. La cuisine est ouverte , à la vue des clients, ce qui donne encore plus envie de manger. Tout est fait maison, et fait devant nous. Le service est cependant un peu "mou" mais la qualité des plats vous oblige à tester ;)

Food was fantastic and the wait times were very short between courses. Highly recommended the Med Chicken main as the source was delightful. Will definitely visit again!

Came across this restuarant when looking for something to eat before the theatre. We opted for the 2 course set menu which had quite a few options. The food quality was excellent and service was really friendly. I would return here when back in London and would highly recommend to others.

This is a great place to eat, if you find yourself in Soho. We were a group of 7 and the staff managed to accommodate us. They were very friendly and patient when it comes to our orders (with changes) and split bill as well. In general we all enjoyed the food. I was happy see the photo of a local resident Violet on the wall. It used to be her favourite restaurant. It was lovely to chat to her ... Sadly, she passed away a couple of years ago.

Found this restaurant buy sheer chance, what a great little place. Food amd drinks are excellent and will definitely come back here.

Great little place with excellent staff. The food is lovely and very reasonable. The only complaint was the price of wine (min. £25.95) but hey, this is central London.

Hidden gem in London. Beautiful food, authentic and homemade in taste. A real cosy vibe. Cannot believe how fairly priced it is for being so central, will definitely be visiting again.

Popped in for lunch - very impressed with the food & service. We both enjoy veggie food, so we had the Chef Special Veggie Mezi, Mozzarella Pide & Side Salad. Lovely, well worth visiting.

The service was a bit mixed. Didn't get olives which we had to ask for a 2nd time. Houmous starter had bread which was quite dry and slightly stale. The prawns and mussels in the seafood linguine were very overcooked and rubbery. There may have been some squid in there, but I'm not sure because they were 2 very rubbery strips. The red sauce was lumpy and excessive to the point that it was like a soup. The salmon was fairly nice, but dry on the bottom. I think it may have been served with a bechamel sauce rather than hollandaise. The green olives were okay, but the black olives were bitter and mushy. All this while we had to listen to terrible karaoke from the downstairs entrance.

Fantastic small restaurant in Soho. Came for food before a theatre performance and the staff, food and atmosphere are excellent. Highly recommended.

Cosy little bar and restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and a nice Mediterranean menu, including vegetarian options. Staff were friendly and fast service for drinks and food. Nice and central for Soho and the theatre district. Visited with friends and shared a mezze starter with hummus which was delicious. We had chicken escalope, vegetarian moussaka and lasagna for mains, all of which were lovely! The only downsides were that some wines on the menu were not available (though we were able to sample alternatives before choosing), and the toilets needed some attention (1 women's toilet that was not flushable and needed repairs). Would visit again, if I could give half stars, I would bump up to 4.5 🙂

My Partner and I love this restaurant! I have eaten here about 5 times now and I truly believe they have the best avocado dish in London! In addition to the baked avocado, I love the espresso martinis and their chicken dishes. Staff are always friendly and I always look forward to visiting.

Ali, the owner of Med Cafe Soho, is the friendliest and most welcoming restaurant owner I've ever met. He really makes you feel at home. And the food? Simply amazing. A must-visit in London.

Med Cafe Soho is an absolute gem! The service is exceptional and the owner Ali is incredibly welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere is just perfect. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great Mediterranean meal in London.

Had a great breakfast with my wife and parents. Attentive and kind staff and delicious food. The breakfast was filling but not too much and the bacon was cooked to perfection.

Have been going here for their takeaway lunches for many years. However, more recently their quality and quantity has reduced considerably and the prices have increased substantially. Whilst I appreciate the cost of living crisis and costs increasing for all, I think the price of £8.50 for a salad and receiving less than a quarter of a small chicken breast a tad extortionate. A shame given I have been a loyal customer for a long time. I think it is now obvious that the large amount of people who used to line up here have now voted with their feet and choose to spend their money on the temporary stalls. Disappointed to say I think I’ll be doing the same

Baked avacado was dreamy with cheesy sauce with mushrooms - my lamb kebab was incredible, the lamb was of the finest quality - looking forward to returning next time I’m in Soho

Food was ok.. I ordered a starter to come out as a main, was disappointed the avocado was mash instead of sliced but it wasn't stated on menu.. I was charged double price but the whole reason I chose a starter was I cannot eat big portions. Most disappointing was the banofee pie dessert it consists of base, banana and cream the caramel was the tiniest scraping along the base. Friendly staff but wouldn't return.

Wonderful find last Sunday (26/2/23) Five of us went in for breakfast on Sunmday morning Great food - good value - good service - very friendly and warm Our waitress was Georgian and a reall happy welcoming smile We asked if we could book a table for 4 in the evening for Dinner as we were heading to Wembley for the football (we got beat but never mind) Went back at 8.30 and had a wondefurl meal - cooked to perfection Well done Chef We were served again by our wondeful waitress and we were treated so warmly it was an absolute pleasure to be there - laughed our way through the evening Met the boss who was also a truly nice person and we talked a lot about a certain photograph on the wall and the bar next door - great stuff and nice history We would like to thank all of those at the cafe for a really nice evening If we are ever in London again this place is a MUST VISIT

A group of 6 of us stubbled across this cafe looking for breakfast on a Sunday morning before heading home. We were quickly given a table inside the bar next door which the cafe is now also operating from. The waiter was very hospitable a quickly sorted our drinks and took our orders along with various dietary requests. We had the English Breakfast, Turkish Breakfast and some mushrooms on toast which we all agreed was great and quickly cleared our plates. Value for money was average for the location but given the good service and quality of the food I'd be happy to return.

Raw sausage and terrible service We ordered two full English breakfasts. After waiting an extremely long time, one lukewarm complete breakfast arrived, the second breakfast, also lukewarm, was missing a sausage. After less than five minutes a sausage arrived, on closer inspection it was clear that it was raw, the inside was pink and spreadable. When we alerted the waitress she took it away with no apology. A few minutes later, the same sausage was returned after being deep fried, again with no apology, it looked completely inedible. Terrible service and questionable food standards.

The waitress is a kind and positive lady, but the beef burger was a total ripoff for 13,50£. We asked for cheese, they forgot to put it, we returned the burgers so the chefs put shredded cheese without even melting it.

Everything about this place creates the perfect "at home" atmosphere. We went for the Lunch Menu and we're incredibly happy with the service and especially the food.

Had the French toast advertised as coming with strawberries, blueberries and bananas with maple syrup. Disappointing: plain white grocery store bread, a sprinkle of fruit, and what appeared and tasted like heavy golden syrup. Average service/fine. Came at lunch but only the breakfast menu was available. Won’t be back.

Not sure how they got such high reviews. Food was poor quality for what you pay, my eggs Florentine was soggy and orange juice was £3 for a glass when the carton was from a grocery store for probably £1. The toast was the cheapest white loaf of bread from the grocery store isle. Waitress was very polite but that’s about it that was pleasant sadly. Big waste of money.

Vistited twice during our trip to london. And both times left with our plates empty and are stomokes full On our second vist today as we walked in the watress recignised us from our first visit the service is that good Im a chef myself so belive me when i say the food is outstanding 100% would recomend The open kitchen to the resturant is great and allows you to see the true skills of the chef who is clearly very good at what he does and knolagable when it comes to his skill one of the best places we have found while in london Cant recomend it enough we will defo be returning on our next trip

We had a price fix menu of two courses. Both were excellent, and both were of a nice portion size. So it made the meal reasonably priced. Both the calamari, and the Moussaka were excellent. The waitress was friendly and the service was good.

Testé dans le cadre d’un petit déjeuner tardif, l’expérience a été deceptive. Le temps d’attente était très long (environ 1h entre notre commande et la réception de nos plats), ce qui aurait pu se comprendre si les assiettes étaient savoureuses. Mais là, rien n’était assaisonné, on a juste l’impression qu’il a fallu 1h pour ouvrir des boites et disposer le contenu dans l’assiette, dommage. Sinon, bonne ambiance.

Went here with my wife after going a matinee play. We both chose the £18.95 pp main meal followed by sweet selection. My wife ordered their chicken kebab meal and I ordered their Fillet of Sea Bass meal and we both had Tiramisu after. My wife's kebab consisted of 5 small pieces of chicken with onions and peppers inbetween each chicken piece. She is only 5' 2" so a meal of this size was ok for her. But a 'small' kebab like this one wasn't worth £7, let aline the £14 or £15 we were charged (she had a small portion of rice and a tiny salad with it) My fillet of Sea Bass, I kid you not, was a 4 inch fish 'Goujon', ie, slightly bigger than a fish finger in batter, just as a goujon would be. It's menu description stated 'fillet' meaning it WASN'T covered in batter. With my meal it stated it comes with 'potatoes'. It came with ONE small jersey potato cut in half! So I ordered a bowl of chips, for £4. When I complained to the Manager, I had to wait for him to finish his 5 minutes discussion with his 2 aquaintances before he came over to me, knowing I was waiting to speak to him. I explained that the 'fillet' of fish was a 4 inch long'Goujon' , not afillet. His reply? 'What is a goujon?' I responded with 'You don't know what a goujon is?!' He said 'No'. I then said 'Your Chef knows what a goujon is! It's a shame he has no idea what a 'fillet' is! The Tiramisu tasted like it had an artificial sweetener in it. Were our meals worth £19 each all but 5p? A BIG NO. NO member of staff asked us at any time we were sat at our table if everything was ok for me to reply 'no actually!' Also, our table was in front of 1 of the 2 doors to their downstairs bar..and I was asked TWICE to shift across to the other corner of our table so 2 men (at separate times) could come into the restaurant where we sat. A 3rd man also asked if I could move to one side and I said 'No!' The Manager stated that he would put our situation right next time. I said to him that there won't be a'next time'. He walked off quite aloofly. £12 for a medium size cocktail. Don't waste your money eating here.

This place has outside seating - we were lucky to get in a table in this trending and fashionable location. The staff are very friendly, we were sat next to Italians chatting away having brunch. Nice place to sit if you like people watching. We had the vegetarian plate, Mediterranean and full English breakfasts. All £11-13.50 per plat with a £6 service charge (shame). We were given a bit of bread too. So overall expected the flavours to slap a bit more. Also shame about no fresh black pepper but I’m being picky. Fine for a breakfast but not particularly memorable. If you’re into a mild tasting breakfast this is fine. The staff are lovely however!

This is not good value for money and should be avoided. It should also be inspected by Westminster Council and TripAdvisor. When the food arrived we should have walked away. The Menu shown on TripAdvisor is certainly not the menu given to us at the cafe, we were charged £12 and £14 for the Turkish and Med Garden Plate breakfasts. Med Garden Plate: The scrambled eggs were runny and cold, the slices of tomato were cold and not roasted, the avocado was a mashed pulp, a thin slice of sujuc sausage, a little finger size of rubbery cold halloumi, 3 slices of cucumber, but no sour dough toast. The Turkish Breakfast: The fried eggs were over cooked and cold, the waiter offered to change them, but as we had waited so long, I decided to eat and run. The spicy beef sausage was a thin slice of sujuc, thin slice of feta cheese NO TURKEY, NO HAM, NO PASTRAMI, NO TURKISH CHEDDAR CHEESE. Little finger size of cold halloumi, and the Borek was cold and tasteless. NO GRILLED PEPPER. 3 slices each of tomato and cucumber. Margarine instead of butter. I informed the waiter, that I would write an unfavourable review. I have rarely given a bad review for a cafe or restaurant, but this was inexcusably BAD.

OLD REVIEW FROM 2018: Love the cosy atmosphere! The service is great and the food is also good. 2021 JULY UPDATE: While the rest of the waiting staff were nice and friendly, there was one incompetent waitress (possibly new because she clearly didn't know what she was doing and clearly had no training). When she was clearing the table she didn't know how to do it safely (I've been a waitress in the past). She piled up lots of plates where I was sitting, i.e. on top of small plates (while leaving forks on the plate) she put big plates with forks on etc. And as you can imagine a tower of plates such as this is not very stable. All of a sudden half of the plates fell off the plate tower on me and stained my shorts red with mussels in a tomato sauce. She then said sorry and rushed off with the plates, and that was it!! I expected her to come back with a damp towel or ANYTHING so I could clean up that mess on my lap, but she just disappeared! Another waiter saw it and offered me tissues (dry ones, I had to ask for wet tissues). I just cannot believe how awful the service was by her. Who drops dirty dishes on a customer and leaves without offering anything to clean up!? I emailed this restaurant about it and didn't get a response.. sad how one incompetent person can ruin your opinion of the whole restaurant.

They do not do oat milk or soy milk, no bloody Mary’s and after ordering one coffee and waiting 15 mins, ask again and two coffees arrive and offered normal milk even though we asked for oak milk, and still no sign of our breakfast. 25 mins and we am for the bull and it comes with our breakfast costings even though we only received one coffee Highly disappointed with in experienced staff the breakfast club just down the street 😉
