We had a lovely dinner. The restaurant just looks amazing with these flowers decorated all over the ceiling. Very romantic atmosphere. We had a three course meal. The service was attentive and quick. The food was really tasty and the homemade petit fours were delicious, definitely would recommend them.

Such a good place to have dinner in London where they know the good sense of welcoming. The plates are delicious and beautiful, every waiters look after the table from the beginning to the end, the wine waitress has very good knowledge about the wine list which is incredible, you can find a lot of good bottles for a couple of 100£, the cocktails looks amazing and are very tasty. The only thing to correct, to have the best experience ever, would be to slow down a little bit the service of plates because it was as fast as a business lunch but still incredible experience.

Food is delicious, but the service was disappointing. Bonnie our waitress simply couldn’t care less. She asked my husband first when ordering, assumed we wanted the lunch menu (her tone was super dismissive), didn’t bring us any sparkling water 15 mins after asking and started taking orders without pouring us water first, insisted that the bread has to be cold and never even checked with the kitchen if they can be warmed up, poured the sauce of my starter onto the rim (outer edge) of my plate, the list goes on… Bonnie smiled but was completely unhelpful, untrained, and showed a completely misguided confidence because she clearly has no clue with fine dining service standards. Thankfully, after the starter, a new French waiter came out and was incredibly friendly, courteous and knew the service etiquette that fine dining should follow. He was the reason this restaurant still gets stars. Overall, please train your staff. London is a competitive market.

We had a lovely dinner at Clos Maggiore to celebrate our anniversary. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcomed. The reception team was very friendly, and our server was knowledgeable without being overbearing. Every course was delicious, and the staff made sure everything went smoothly from start to finish.

Took my boyfriend there for his birthday (although he paid as he is very generous). Very romantic setting and excellent food, wine and service. Also an excellent and extensive wine list but let down by ridiculous mark ups. I would like to give a special thanks to our sommelier Keely for navigating us through the list and finding some delicious wines that did not break my boyfriend's bank!

Wonderful lunch for my birthday. Exceptional food and service, and the dining room is one of the most beautiful I can remember. My only draw back was the wine list. While it is very impressive (great selection of back vintages, over 2500 different wines!), the mark up is one of the highest i have seen in London or anywhere else, and there is no corkage. Keely the sommelier was very knowledgable and did an admirable job finding something appropriate for us. It's an ideal place for dry January!

One of the most romantic restaurants in London with extremely beautiful floral settings and delicious food. The cocktails and food are all extremely well presented and tasted fabulous. It was all very worth the money and I find it very affordable for the quality and quantity of food you are getting. Highly recommend for couples, or birthday celebrations.

The only redeeming quality of this restaurant is its cosy atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food is incredibly disappointing—nowhere near the standard you'd expect and certainly not worth the time or money. It’s shockingly overhyped. The vegetarian options were abysmal, easily some of the worst I’ve encountered in London. The dessert was pure sugar with no real flavour, making for an overall horrendous dining experience. Service was equally poor; our waiter was unfriendly and getting any assistance felt like an ordeal. Overall, a deeply disappointing visit—I wouldn’t recommend it.

Food was just ok, overpriced but ok. I would’ve given 3-4 stars if that was the extent of our experience however: Our waitress was EXTREMELY sick, coughing up a lung throughout the evening as she walked past us and throughout the restaurant without covering her mouth. I then observed the same waitress going behind the bar and sampling another customer’s cocktail with a straw. She threw away the straw which is good (still way too close for a sick person to be near any food or drink) however we then watched the other person working the bar sample a different drink, put the straw from their mouth back into the drink and sample it again… if you want to contract an illness come eat here, I will never return

The restaurant is very centrally located and is very nicely and comfortably furnished inside. The atmosphere is calm and invites you to linger. The service is discreet and always attentive. There's actually nothing to complain about when it comes to food. It tastes very good and the ingredients seem to be of good quality. Only the side dishes could retain some of the sophistication of the other dishes.

Made the booking well in advance, pre ordered due to dietary requirements, a day before our visit I had a call to say they've been sent the wrong meat, I was very disappointed with this. On the day all the staff was very nice apart from one lady in a grey blazer. I stressed to them it was a very special occasion, no effort was made, a plate with happy birthday in chocolate sauce which was smudged with two small chocolates. I was left very embarrassed.

Really sad, not sure what happened to this place as it used to be fantastic. I had a great meal here about two years ago — delicious food, excellent service — and my experience this past weekend couldn't have been anything further from that. We had to wait 10-15 minutes to be seated in the freezing cold doorway area of the restaurant where the door kept being opened and letting in all the freezing air. Once we sat down it took a further 20 minutes for a waiter to come and ask us if we wanted anything... and when he finally came over, he abruptly asked "are you ready to order?" ... usually in a nice restaurant you are first asked if you'd like a drink (and it shouldn't take 20 minutes). So we hastily placed our order and sadly the food was very average. Definitely not worth the price! There are so many more exciting and delicious options in London these days. The restaurant was also absolutely freezing, despite us being seated right in front of the fire. This was in January on a freezing day and there was COLD air blowing on me from the vent the whole time!! Why is the A/C on in the winter? Finally, given how long we had to wait to be seated and place our order I of course believe some sort of perk should have been offered, like a complimentary dessert or round of drinks... but nope, the apathetic staff didn't even seem to realize that we were practically neglected through our entire experience from start to finish. Also, there are multiple reviews mentioning rodent sightings lately? I will not be returning.

The service was awful, the food late and expensive, and everything was generally unwelcoming. Food was good for a weekend lunch. It’s a shame as the tables weren’t connected, so 14 people were split between 2 groups. Further, the food didn’t come at once - which would have been absolutely fine if there was some communication and apology. The biggest negative though, is written below, which really ruined the experience to be honest. If you’re booking for a birthday; beware. We were a table of 14 and were asked to pay £8 each to eat our own cake - after paying for 3 courses each. We gave the choice of either eating our cake to finish the meal; or to remove the service charge. They decided the “cakeage” fee was fixed and so removed the service charge. Never been asked to pay “cakeage” before.

Pricey but definitely worth it for a special occasion. We had the tasting menu with the premium wine pairing. The food was amazing, especially the steak tartare, and the wine pairing was great but above all the service was the best. All the staff was really nice and treated us marvelously. The sommelier, called Andrea if I remember correctly, from Romania, was so helpful and knowledgeable. In fairness, we were given a free drink - firstly, prosecco - however one person is in recovery, one doing dry January, would've nice to be asked alcoholic or non-alcoholic Then when the drink came it kind of smelt like wet dog HOWEVER - As soon as we were seated everything was perfection. My husband and I visited Clos Maggiore yesterday for a late celebration of our 22nd anniversary, and it was nothing short of perfection! I explained this and asked if possible to reschedule. Was extremely disappointed at the service, spoke to the manager Giuseppe who offered zero flexibility and said the card would still be charged as a no show. I asked if he would want a customer coughing in the restaurant and spreading the virus to which he said they cannot do anything being a 48 hour cancellation policy. In our first visit to Clos Maggiore, a stone's throw from Covent Garden tube station, we had been seated on the ground floor but this time we were seated upstairs, which is charming, with a beautiful ceiling floral decoration, and feels far more private, with passers by not peering in. The first floor, where we were seated, had six tables and a gentle fireplace. There are some excellent set lunches, which vary whether it's weekend or a weekday. It's an ideal and economical way to sample some wonderful food and the addition of an excellent sparkling wine is, excuse the pun, another sweetener, although the set lunches are not for those with a big appetite as portion sizes are not overly generous. What you will get at Clos Maggiore, however, is cooking of the highest possible standard, both in quality, imagination and presentation, using the freshest of produce. This was particularly obvious in the seared cod, which was so fresh you could smell the sea. The venison was beautiful as well, which we had requested medium-rare rather than their recommended medium. Also very enjoyable was the salsify, a vegetarian dish, which was on the a la carte menu although the portions of accompanying Jerusalem artichoke were a little on the stingy side. Perhaps the one disappointment was the salad of autumn leaves, William pears, with Westcombe Dairy cheese dressing as it was not obvious that it would have such a strong blue cheese flavour. That's certainly not for everyone's palate, as was the case here. Had it not been just after Christmas and a belly full of Christmas pud, we might have been tempted to sample a dessert - but we decided to spare our waistlines although the additional cost of a dessert in the set lunches is very reasonable. Service is unobtrusive and courteous although if you're a big-spending foreign diner, say an American, who is likely to tip big, then the service is so partisan, that other diners are almost ignored. Embarassingly partisan as it could deter the 'neglected' diners from coming again if they are left to feel like second-class citizens.

We went to dinner on New Year's Eve, they left more than 20 people outside waiting for a table, after an hour we were able to sit down to dinner... the dishes were horrible, first a very small salad with 2 pieces of butter, candied pear and dried lettuce, main a very small piece of hake with a super basic sauce and then a piece of cheese with truffle to spread on 2 pieces of bread with more dried lettuce… I also reserved a cake since it was my partner's birthday but that cake never arrived. I have eaten at a Michelin star for less than what this restaurant cost me and it was a thousand times better, overall a disappointment since based on the comments we expected something better.

I recently dined at clos maggiore and while I initially had high hopes for the experience but unfortunately marred by some unsettling issues. The evening started out fine, but while we were having dinner, we noticed an insect on the table. We brushed it off and killed it, thinking it was a minor inconvenience. However when a large rat unexpectedly passed right behind me while we were seated near the fireplace. It scurried into the wall decorations, which had lights and trees designed on them, hiding out of sight. Naturally, I informed the waiter, and we were promptly moved to another table. But when we mentioned the incident to the receptionist, who had originally seated us, her response was not what I expected. Instead of expressing concern or offering any form of empathy, she laughed and thougt that it was only because it was too warm by the fireplace that we changed our table. This left us feeling dismissed and uncomfortable. The most troubling part is that there was no gesture of goodwill from the restaurant. No apology beyond the initial acknowledgment, no offer of a discount or even a complimentary dessert—nothing to make up for the frightening experience. The sight of such a large rat was alarming, and it left us wondering if the restaurant’s kitchen or other areas might be facing similar cleanliness issues. I expected much better standards of cleanliness and customer service. It’s a shame, because the food and ambiance had potential, but I can’t overlook such serious hygiene concerns. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

We came in December expecting a similar cosy festive experience to Daphne’s Restaurant, but first impressions weren’t so great. The restaurant was fully booked and it showed in the fact that we were totally ignored for 30 minutes after arriving for our reservation - first we had to stand in the cramped entranceway for at least 10 minutes as other parties who arrived later were seated before us, and then we were forgotten at our table for another 20 minutes even after asking for a menu twice. However, just as we were planning to give up and leave, a waiter from another section noticed our situation and went out of his way to make the rest of our experience a positive one, making sure we got our menus, drinks, bread and food quickly. The food itself was delicious and absolutely worth the price we paid for the weekday set lunch. The atmosphere wasn’t as cosy as we’d hoped despite the lovely Christmas decor, just because a lot of the staff seemed very stressed by the amount of guests! We probably won’t go back now that we’ve tried it once, but wanted to shout out the kind waiter for cheering us up after a rocky start!

We booked a Christmas Eve dinner at this restaurant over a month in advance and were very excited to try such a renowned establishment. However, upon arrival, we were told they could not find our reservation. Despite showing proof of the credit card charge for the deposit, we were still informed there was no record of it. Only after we provided the restaurant’s own confirmation of the reservation did they acknowledge the issue. Even then, the staff seemed indifferent and unhelpful, making us feel like the situation was our problem rather than theirs. At one point, it felt as though they were suggesting we should leave instead of finding a solution. After some time, they offered us a smaller table, which we reluctantly accepted given it was Christmas Eve and we had no other options. Eventually, we were seated at a properly sized table after another party left, but the initial treatment left a lasting negative impression. While the food was good and the service improved once we were seated, the lack of professionalism and hospitality at the start of our experience significantly overshadowed everything else. A first impression matters, and unfortunately, this one fell short. We will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to others.

Unfortunately I feel that this restaurant has probably become pay to social media posts. The interior is paradise for anyone addicted to Instagram posts or tick tock, but unfortunately the service and food didn’t match the decor. We waited for half an hour before anyone actually spoke to us about food or drink. When we received our food we were disappointed with the amount that was on our plate. It tasted nice, but it seemed that it was style over substance. It is an extremely small restaurant and the tables are close together, so don’t expect to have a private conversation! Service was very poor. When we asked the waiter for a wine list he looked at us as if we’d asked for a trip to the moon! We definitely won’t return here again. The food was supposed to be good, but our slow cook beef main course was way too salty due to the gravy. We asked for it to be remade, but the waitress came back with the same outcome. We made comment about the gravy to the waitress and she said she’d mention it to the chef. It’d be nice to get a better response from the restaurant rather than just “mention it to the chef” as it didn’t really help us. They should either have acknowledged the cooking error and reduce the bills or give us something on the house as a token of appreciation for our feedback. So overall, a bit disappointed…

Clos Maggiore is an institution in London for Christmas and for this, we visited it for a set-lunch-menu. The atmosphere is the most festive and romantic one you can think of, and the restaurant is set directly at Covent Garden, so you cannot miss it. The food was amazing. Two minor let downs worth mentioning. A bit of a chaos with all the people waiting for their tables as everyone wants to be there, and the woman who was responsible to refill our wine glasses wasn´t as present as she should have been, let alone we prediced she mixed a bottle once or twice. We booked this for a special celebration after it being on our ‘must eat’ list for years and were left very disappointed. We were seated in the restaurant hallway, with a constant stream of diners walking past our table all evening and a chill from the open door. I mentioned this to the front of house staff, who gave me my coat from the cloakroom as a solution. The service was incredibly slow, we finished our bread (they forgot the butter) before we placed our drinks order. Once the food order was finally taken, the courses were rushed out. We were served 3 of our 5 tasting menu courses in the same time it took for our drinks to arrive. The tasting menu was very average for the price paid. All of the courses were under-seasoned, bland and underwhelming. Worse still the Monkfish course arrived cold with gritty cockles - it was inedible. The restaurant itself felt very dated and tired. It’s certainly not a luxury restaurant experience and sadly we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Made worse by the arrival (at a free table next to us) of a family of 4, with 2 children under 5 (was unaware children were allowed in the restaurant at the 9pm sitting). Had my second visit to Clos, last time during summer, seated upstairs, a few years ago and this time for the weekend lunch menu during a weekend. We were seated downstairs next to the bar, which was really disappointing as had such lovely seat the last time. Considering the location, it was fairly peaceful but nothing like our seat before. The atmosphere is beautiful, summer or Christmas, and the service is amazing. They are able to cater for dietary requirements(veg + gluten free) without making you feel awkward about it, and are happy to check with the kitchen any additional requests as well. However, the food overall has been a bit of a let down. My partner’s side dish never arrived, and my meals were average - even for the lunch offer they felt a bit overpriced. I remember having this feeling the last time as well, so this restaurant is not a recommendation for the food, rather for the atmosphere and wine pairings and attentive service. Despite being an adopted Londoner since 1992, I never went to this place before yesterday. This is possibly because I always managed to be single or recently split up just before St Valentine’s. As this is arguably the most romantic restaurant I can think of in London, I did not want to go with friends or on my own. Anyway, I am glad I changed my mind yesterday evening, as Clos Maggiore is a gem of a restaurant, perfect for special occasions or celebrations! I went after seeing The Tempest nearby, without a reservation, and the very kind and friendly lady at the reception managed to squeeze me in despite being late ( 10 pm!). The staff were incredibly professional, smiling, witty, competent and warm. The service is fast and efficient, and they know what to recommend. I had the steak tartare, one of the best I ever had, and the venison with Armagnac sauce, accompanied by an excellent red from Bordeaux. Perfect matching ! I also had the chocolate soufflé, and they matched it perfectly with Grenat, a sweet wine that was perfect! Regrettably, the sommelier had gone home do I was unable to take a picture of this delicious dessert wine. They do a really pretty lunch set menu, at an extremely reasonable price point. For what it's worth, especially if you're able to get a seat at the Conservatory space area, you'll have a really pretty dining experience against the backdrop of an actual fireplace and flowers strewn across the entire ceiling. Their weekday set lunch comes with a glass of bubbles, and 3 courses. For 35 GBP, it's extremely worth the reservation. Got myself a classic terrine, a slow cooked belly of pork, and their signature apple crumble tart. With the service considered, against such an attractive price point, there's honestly nothing much to complain about. One thing though: make sure you make reservations earlier, as they get booked out quite quickly.

So sad I can’t give this place 5 stars as it’s so beautiful! Pros: - beautiful setting, the ceiling is so lovely, and the atmosphere really delightful. - the staff are amazing - the wine is fabulous Cons: - some of the food wasn’t up to the standard I’d expect for this place. We did the tasting menu, where one of the courses was incredible, 2 of the courses were ‘quite’ nice, but 2 others weren’t so rich in flavour/ were quite disappointing. - it’s also a bit hectic when you first walks in as the front of house is so narrow and people are rushing up and down to get people to their tables. Would definitely go back if they have change their menu to see if it was a one off!

Exceptional! First Xmas dinner of the year here. Was a very nice setting, staff were friendly and food was very enjoyable. Sitting above the cobblestone streets of Covent Garden in the heart of it all was also quite special. Awesome spot for a date or group dinner

My Husband booked months in advance for our wedding anniversary. I was very excited to try Clos Maggiore as it was on my to do list for a while specially during the Christmas season with all the decorations. Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed with my experience here and would not return again. First, we were seated next to the bar which was located close to the tiny waiting area so we were close to the door and it was noisy and cold. We expected the beautiful room we see on every photos... it was disappointing! Also our table wasn't stable which wasn't something you expect to see in this kind of restaurant. We were also in a cramped corner where we had to move the table far away to be able to get out. First they gives you bread for the meal and as a French I was disappointed as it wasn't crispy enough. We had a three course set lunch menu and the food was not the quality we were expecting either. For starters my Husband's had the celeriac velouté which was really good but my autumn salad was disappointing and dry. Then for the main course my Husband's had the truffle macaroni which was very good but not warm enough. But once again, I wasn't lucky with my choice.. I had the Sea Trout with vegetables that wasn't cooked enough and almost cold. As a side I had the truffle mashed potatoes which was the most delicious thing of the whole meal. For dessert, we had the apple crumble that was delicious but very very cold which was odd for a crumble. They also bring us a treat for our anniversary which was very nice of them. Overall, we are quite disappointed. We already visited few fancy restaurants but never had an experience like this. The place is beautiful and service was good but some things needs to be improved. Also, I would like to add that they take £40 per person few days before your visit. You need to be aware of this! They will not refund you after but instead this amount will pay for your meal. If the amount is higher you'll need to pay the rest. But if not, they can't refund you and you'll have to order something or just leave it to them. It happened to someone next to our table so we overhead.

Had a fantastic pre-theatre meal last night, the food and service were excellent, set in a beautiful setting. The staff were fantastic, very friendly and nothing too much to trouble. I am unsure what restaurant the negative reviews were from but our experience here was extremely positive. Yes, its slightly expensive but this is London, in the middle of Covent Gardens and the food is a la carte, you get what you pay for, it's not a Toby Carvery so people need to think their expectations. I would definately recommend here for anyone looking for somewhere special to eat.

this remarkable place. The atmosphere is just cosy and definitely gives off romantic vibes.💓 It's incredibly sublime. The staff? Oh, they are ever so attentive and make you feel so special!👏 And the wine list, ugh, simply amazing. 🍷 A little heads-up - some rooms might feel small, but they certainly ooze an intimate and wonderful vibe. I seriously relished the wine and the dinner there.🍴✨ The food? Scrumptuously delicious! 😋 I highly recommend this place for couples, or anyone really who enjoys having a lovely dinner in a fabulous French ambiance. Trust me, you're going to love it. 🇫🇷🌃

Experience was bittersweet, we were seated over 30 mins after our reservation time, and only offered a drink after we complained about the wait. Thankfully after we were seated we found the food and our server excellent, however towards the end of the evening (before midnight) we felt like we were being rushed out, being asked if we wanted the bill and if we wanted our coats. I suspect the rushed service was due to us going near Christmas, so I’d probably avoid it at this time, but go again another period as the food and service (apart from at the start and end) were very good.

I’ve been to Clos Maggiore before and it was phenomenal. My husband took me for my birthday- we arrived a bit earlier to ask if there was any availability. He hadn’t asked for the conservatory in the booking (which was fine by me), but when he asked about other seats, the host said “you should have been organised and mentioned it in your booking”. This isn’t something he was aware of having never been there, so to make that comment left a sour taste. She then proceeded to question me three times about whether it was actually my birthday which again didn’t make sense to me when it had already been stated twice. The food generally was great- unfortunately, the chocolate soufflé was not cooked. It had not been baked for long enough and was simply raw batter which was not an ideal end to the meal. Appreciated the little cake they gave on the side for my birthday, but expected a lot more from them.

The food was very good but the service wasn’t. We waited forever for everything. After the waiter brought us the bread, we asked for salt and pepper and it took a long time until we got it. We finished our waters and had to ask for more, our waiter wasn’t checking on us much. We ordered an appetizer, which was forgotten. The waiter didn’t acknowledge that he forgot it, he said he would bring it out with the main dinner course so it could be eaten together, but he didn’t ask if this was ok. Then, our main course arrived but the appetizer still didn’t come for another 10 min or so. We made reservations to celebrate a birthday and this wasn’t acknowledged until we already paid the bill and got up to leave when the waiter said to please sit back down because they had a complementary birthday dish for us. It was just awkward. On top of this, a snail fell from the garlands onto our table almost landing in the bread basket. The food was really good and the atmosphere was nice but the service was not good at all for a supposedly “good restaurant”. For the price, I won’t be able to recommend this place.

Despite my reservation two weeks before Beware of the beautiful Instagrammable photos and videos of a large room beautifully decorated for Christmas ... we found ourselves upstairs in a very small room, it was the evening of my birthday .. really disappointed and the food that arrived cold for the pasta and truffle mash. Placed next to a window that is not insulated, we were cold all evening.

Really disappointed with this restaurant. The food was average at best and overpriced, dishes kept coming out really late and cold and to top it off the staff were extremely rude. I think it being overhyped on social media has made the restaurant laxed on their customer service.

Clos Maggiore is hands down our favorite restaurant in London - and we’re from NYC. It never disappoints: from the warm, gracious service to the romantic setting, and always superb excellent food, it is, quite simply, the very best.

Beautiful setting, service & atmosphere around Xmas time. Food aside, it’s worth booking just to experience that. Our table got changed last minute before we were seated and it seems my girlfriends birthday dessert got sent to the wrong table. Unfortunately we didn’t receive it and another couple received it instead. The only downside to a lovely evening.

Luke-warm leftovers of its former glory. We had a birthday lunch, which resulted in my birthday completely ruined. I had to go home straight after and spent the day on the sofa, sick. I tried to call the restaurant in the evening to warn them not to serve the same meals. No answer. I sent an email expressing my disappointment - this was two weeks ago; no answer either. Avoid.

I booked a table for two as I was celebrating a 2 year anniversary with my girlfriend. I was disappointed to hear that apparently my booking did not exist in their system, despite receiving two email confirmations and a text message. A french man at the entrance made no effort to help, despite me showing proof of my booking simply just told us to eat elsewhere. Hearing "ce n'est pas mon problème" was the cherry on top as I am a native French speaker myself. I cannot review the food therefore and I'm sure it deserves all the praise. However, I have never felt disrespect that much when simply going to a restaurant I booked.

Very poor and pretentious service. Waiters made a mistake pouring a glass of Pinot Grigio for another table but served our table. We said no but they repeated to return to our table to ask if we ordered it. We sent it back 3 times and still ended up with the glass on our bill while getting rushed out of the restaurant. Do not recommend such a pretentious spot unless you want extra charges because they cannot imagine making a simple mistake. Customers shouldn’t be billed for anything sent back multiple times that’s a bare minimum for service, especially at a fine dining restaurant. We deserve better.

Well decorated premises next to Covent Garden. French food, good preparation and correct flavors. A wine list with 2,500 references is a bit overwhelming. The appetizers were the best of the dinner. A crab cake, some homemade macaroni with truffle and a very different, original and excellent-tasting steak tartare. The main course is a venison loin and a beef tenderloin. Good point of both meats. Accompanied by a deer sauce and a wine sauce respectively. For dessert we had some excellent roasted pears. From the beginning we had the feeling that it was late. If you are in the area and are tired of English food it is a good option.

Have been meaning to come here for years. I finally made it, but won’t be back. The decor is very Instagram-able, if that’s what you’re after. Impressive wine list, although marked up 300%. Couldn’t find the bottle of wine I ordered in the cellar and I had a hard time selecting something to eat that was inspiring. Top it off with a soundtrack of cheesy elevator jazz music and you have yourself a mediocre, expensive evening in central London.
