The Ivy Tower Bridge in Southwark

The food is really good. But, the price does not match really ,at the end somehow you will end up paying way more. The cocktails were watery. The service is weird there, they were keep looking at us . Trying to take the dishes even before they finish so we had to constantly say no dont take our dishes away.

Disappointing : Dry Turkey. No mince pies with the whiskey sour cocktails as stated on menu. No Christmas crackers either. Staff lack warmth & personality. £300! Would not return.

We went there for an "afternoon tea" which unfortunately they no longer do... However their scones served with the "cream tea" are delicious! The staff is warm and the setting magnificent!

We spontaneously went to the lunch menu at lunchtime and were greeted very warmly. Service and food was excellent. Both warm and comfortable. A highlight for us.

Staff were attentive and in abundance. Food was so-so but the Quality of the produce was not as good when compared to other Ivy restaurants, e.g sides were overcooked and lukewarm. Personally it was too loud: because the music was loud, people struggled to talk over it, all in all resulting in it being a shouting competition to converse at the table. Other than the service, overall a disappointing visit.

This restaurant is worth coming to try for several reasons. First of all, their food has a very British feel. You can have fish and chips or their lobster, which will give you a good surprise. In addition, they offer different drinks, both with and without alcohol. Choose your favorite and you will be sure to have something right. They have many branches, but the reason why this one is worth recommending is that it is located near Tower Bridge. If you are traveling to London for the first time, you must visit Tower Bridge. In terms of cost-effectiveness, you can look at the tower. Among the restaurants by the bridge, this one is the cheapest. You can enjoy London's most famous attractions while dining. This is the second time I've eaten at the Ivy. This restaurant just never disappoints , food and drinks are amazing. The desert was scrumptious . I always leave very full.

Food was ok, half of us enjoyed it. Service to our table was appalling, food was forgotten, I was hit on the side of the face with a plate while we were being served without any sign of apology, after serving us our first glass of wine the bottle disappeared and I had to go and search for it as we were finishing our main course as it was impossible to catch our waitress’ eye,( we would normally have had two bottles of wine)Towards the end of our meal the waiter took my half empty glass and when I asked for it to be returned as it wasn’t finished he pulled such a face at me. Our table had bench seating to two sides and one chair causing the third person on the bench to sit really awkwardly , clearly there should have been four chairs. This won’t be a place we’ll be returning to

Magnificent restaurant! Top notch staff! Nothing to say! The dishes are a delight! I ate really well! Be careful, the bread costs money (unlike what we are used to in France) and it is really very (too) salty. Otherwise it was incredible! I will come back! Honorable mention to Aaron for his service of rare quality!

Bit of a tourist trap. Very strange service that we're repeatedly forgetting what was needed. It is a far cry from The Ivy - Chelsea, or any other Ivy for that matter. Really nice food but the atmosphere and service really took a lot of the gloss away and we opted to have our dessert elsewhere. Won't be returning

I went to dinner with my boyfriend to our anniversary together and the food was really nice but unfortunately I can’t say the same about the service. The door hostess and the waitress (both was lady’s) was really serious, I Didn’t feel welcome there. I expected they could make our night more special… Also the other waitress who gave us the bio( I really hope it was a mistake) saw the totally in the Bio, and put extra more £30 in the card machine. I really hope it was a mistake.

Was very good until the end. Bill included tip at 13.5%, server presented the card machine to me and gave me to the option to “add tip”. It had already been added to the bill (I double checked amount), I said this to the waiter who then tried to pretend he didn’t understand me… completely ruined it for me

We had a party of 11 to celebrate my wife’s 80th birthday. Two of our party are coeliac and the restaurant was informed of this. One of the two rounds of bread was supposed to be gluten free, having an allergen free flag with it. Both of our coeliac guests became ill and had to leave the restaurant. The management were not prepared to accept responsibility for what had clearly been the restaurant’s error.

We have a great experince in this restaurant, amazing food, beautiful place, and the best service in London. We are grategul for the services of the assintent manager Joan, he did everything to make our nigth especial.

After a long walk through the city it was nice to sit down to eat a lovely dinner in front of the bridge. I ordered the Shepherds Pie, very tasty! I also had dessert and it was very good. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. Clean and well maintained restaurant. I recommend it.

Our party of 4 came here last Friday. It was a busy night and while food and drinks were decent, the service was absolutely appalling. Our waiter seemed to have very little knowledge of the menu, forgot to put through our drinks/dessert orders (despite reminders) and then it took over 40 mins to pay for the bill. The manager did end up cancelling all drinks off our bill as goodwill gesture however, which was appreciated.

The £19.17 menu is exceptional value, and we thought the food was delicious and considering the cost, portion sizes were very good. It wasn’t busy when we visited but service was very slow. Lovely outlook, and lovely interior. Definitely worth a visit

The food was so underwhelming. We ordered the cod and fish n chips and within a couple of minutes our food was brought to us. It clearly was ready to go out before the order was even placed to try and keep up with all the customers. My fish was way over cooked and it didn’t taste fresh.It was too pricey for what it was. Very disappointed!! On the up side the staff were very attentive and the service was great which is why I’ve given this place two stars Would not return for the food

Very elegant restaurant with several rooms and an outdoor terrace. It offers breakfast, lunch and dinner options. It is located right next to Tower Bridge. In our case we ordered two dishes: poached eggs benedictine with avocado and toasted muffin, which came accompanied by fries, and the other dish was “shepherd pie.” Both dishes were exquisite.

What a delightfully odd place! Looks like a nondescript British pub from the front entrance, but then you enter a tropical lounge, bar and conservatory that would've been right at home in early last century. Tropical plants, wall decor and tiling, light fixtures, carpet and bar trim, and the bathroom! It's an experience in itself. Extensive drinks menu, and well curated food menu. Service was polite, professional and efficient. Good portions of food, arrived quickly. Reasonably priced - only making down slightly for service because the bill automatically included a 13.5% "optional" service gratuity, and I loathe tipping culture with a passion.

DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE AT A USUALLY RELIABLE RESTAURANT :/ As a regular customer (at the Ivy Chelsea garden), I’ve always enjoyed the food and atmosphere at the Ivy, but my recent visit left me incredibly disappointed. I ordered one of my usual dishes, the truffle Milanese cotoletta, only to find that it was severely undercooked, at some sites. Not only was the texture off, but it was clear that the kitchen rushed the preparation. I informed the waitress, expecting the issue to be resolved. However, all I received was a brief apology with no effort to rectify the situation. While I understand mistakes happen, the lack of care in handling my concern was surprising, especially for an iconic restaurant with such a good reputation. I’ve had many positive experiences in the Ivy Chelsea garden, but this visit at the Ivy Tower Bridge really fell short of the standard I’ve come to expect. Hopefully this was just an off day and you take this feedback seriously, as it affects not only the dining experience but also the safety and wellbeing of your customers, but after this experience, I’m not sure I’ll be back as often.

Solid ‘meh’ experience dining here. One person’s drink came right away, the other two of ours took 20 minutes. Food was dropped minutes later. Food was solid, everyone liked what we ordered. Friend handed her card to the waitress to pay mid way through. Not sure what happened but they still brought us the bill after. It took an extra 20 minutes for it to be paid. Felt very touristy, won’t return.

MICE!!!!! My husband and I were having dinner on the terrace when I noticed a mouse scurrying around, I spoke to the waiter and asked him "do you know you have mice running around"? he basically shrugged his shoulders and was quite Blaise about it! The next thing was that as he walked away he almost stood on the mouse! When we looked over there were several more mice scurrying under the opposite table! No apology was offered and we just wanted to get out of there as quickly as we could. This is a serious health hazard and should be dealt with. I contacted the IVY and no response to date hence, very unprofessional, its why I am adding this review. Avoid this place at all costs.

Went for a lovely reunion lunch last week to The Ivy Tower Bridge. Staff were very friendly, service was good and the food was great. The only negative was the price of the wine - so expensive. Maybe try and get a few cheaper alternatives for those of us who aren't made of money. Apart from that I would highly recommend, it's a great place to have lunch, feels a real treat.

I really don’t understand who would leave a good review of this place. What impressed them? Food was bland. Service was bland. Atmosphere was loud. Six people group booked for Sunday roast and we get seated on a 4-person table. We basically couldn’t move. When the issue was raised, they told us that the problem was in the tables? What? The plates were empty and it seems the staff forgot to take them away for the next 20 minutes. Don’t get fooled by the photos. It doesn’t taste the way it looks. Not worth the price.

Good atmosphere, although at times a little noisey. Lovely decor and food from the £19.17 2 course menu was great. Service a little slow at times but was busy.

Stopped for a coffee and scones to get out of the rain while walk past tower bridge. High scale spot with good prices.

The team at the Ivy Tower Bridge have been superb on two business events I have ran at this location. They offer fantastic private dining spaces suitable to different needs which a unbeatable views. The events team are responsive and on hand to any enquiries. The team working the room on the day are always very polite and attentive. I look forward to hosting our third event here again the New Year! Special mention to Agne Igaris for all assistance during the planning and to Aaron who assisted on the day (3rd Oct) with serving our clients.

Been here a few times now. Food is always very good, service quick and staff are kind.

The only proper restaurant I experienced in London. I’ve been to some higher class restaurants like Blacklock and the Wolseley, but never had any waiters simile and being patient to me. But the Ivy have good service and food. Just the steak is over cooked. The rest are perfect.

The Ivy at Tower Bridge has an atmosphere that's both trendy and inviting. The décor is stylish, and the vibe is energetic, making it a great spot to catch up with friends. The staff were lovely, welcoming us warmly. However, our experience with the food service was less than ideal. It was a busy night, and this seemed to impact the service. Our starters arrived at very different times, with some of our group finishing their dishes before others had even been served. One of our guests had to wait over 30 minutes after everyone else had finished theirs, which made for an awkward dining experience. That said, the main courses and deserts were terrific overall, with 2 dishes needing to be sent back as the steaks were overcooked. Initially, there was some frustration with our waiter, but the manager handled the situation exceptionally well. He listened to the guests concerns and ensured everything was resolved amicably, which was truly appreciated. Having dined at The Ivy in other locations our expectations were higher, and this experience did fall below what we’ve come to expect from this establishment. It’s hard to say whether it was just the busyness of the evening or an unknown issue in the kitchen, but the slow service certainly impacted our evening. On a positive note, the food and drinks were enjoyable, and I’ll give the benefit of the doubt that something unusual happened that evening to cause these long delays. Hopefully, this was just an ‘off night’ for an otherwise great venue.

Pablo looked after us very well and he went above and beyond to make our meal an amazing experience. My sister and brother in law celebrated their wedding anniversary and he was very attentive.

Delicious and good quality typical English food. If you come don't forget to try the desserts. The service is fast and attentive, there is a very friendly Spanish waiter (Pablo). We will return another time!

The servers were lovely to us! The decoration of this place is beautiful and cozy, we had a delicious time there. Too bad the weather wasn't on our side, we would have asked for the terrace with a view of Tower Bridge... 😁

First the positive... the food was excellent. The portions are very small but very tasty. The rude awakening came with the bill. There were drinks listed that we never got and the big deal was a 13.5% tip on the bill. The. Percentage symbol is hidden so that we assumed £13.5. For us, however, 13.5% was an impressive 47 pounds. I think it's a tourist rip-off, but if you pay attention to the bill it's great.

Unfortunately, we had the same bad experience as the last reviewer. At the end our dinner, we realised that an extra main was added to our bill. After examining the bill further an extra side and a drink were found as well. However, that wasn’t the disappointing part, if the matter was handled professionally and rectified efficiently we would have happily left without any complaints. What followed is the sluggish approach to the process of refund and apologies. The manager seemed nonchalant about the reputational damage to the Ivy brand and that the restaurant and its staff can’t be trusted anymore. He was defensive and unprofessional. When challenged on the language used the response we received is “I call all females ‘luv’ because I am English” requires no further comment on how low the Ivy brand has fallen. I hope it gets replaced by another more reputable restaurant in the near future. If you are visiting London avoid this Ivy as a plague. If you are a Londoner find a better place to spend your hard earned money.

This place was terrible. Awful service, average food, gross cocktails. Ordered water. Never got it. Brought our food to the wrong table. Was charged twice for appetizers. Waiter convinced us to ordered sides, never got them. Cocktails were disappointing. And a mouse. Yes in the restaurant. Don’t go. Avoid.

Waited 20 minutes for our table to be ready, then our waiter disappeared for 40 minutes so we couldn't order. Then they forgot our starter, and put mains under a heater while they rushed the starter through. I'm all for recycling but when they eventually took our starter plates they put the cutlery back on the table and also left empty glasses behind. Finally, the heater tray cod arrived dried out, wilted salad and very chewy. The service is chaotic and doesn't seem like anyone knows (or cares) what is going on. Unprofessional, Avoid. Well done Richard caring - same as your other restaurants.

A very elegant place for meal time, breakfast, snack or dinner. In our case, we spent my last day in London having breakfast here. Highly recommended, breakfast values ​​more than acceptable with everything they offer. Highly recommended. If you go with suitcases, they can keep them for you until you leave.

Over all, Great ! We booked the private room for an executive dinner. Incredible service from start to finish. The events team were very accommodating especially with last minute changes. The wait staff on the evening were very polite, very attentive, highly professional and just overall did an amazing job. To top it all off, the food was excellent. We would like to thank The Ivy Tower Bridge for a wonderful evening.

I ate from the Autumn Menu (which I had to ask for as not put on the table). Good value for money. A little noisy to begin in the restaurant at 7pm but nice atmosphere and good service.

Really good food, nice location with an okay view of the tower bridge if you sit outside (it's not a terrace, just an area outside the entry of the restaurant on the normal ground level), got charged £6.50 for a side of broccoli and a service charge of 13.5% (didn't realise we were in America??).

Poor level of food for the price. The beef tenderloin was supposed to be medium rare and came in overcooked. the image. They have no idea. When you point it out, the waiter seems unaware of what the problem is 😅 They also charge for the sauces and accessories separately. That is, if you order beef fillet on the plate, you will only get beef fillet and nothing else?? Lucky that the cutlery and napkins were included😅 Uncomfortably high noise level. Overpriced tourist trap with mediocre food and nothing else. Avoid..

We went for Sunday lunch .. the roast beef was so tender. My friend had the steak, which she really enjoyed The deserts are amazing, so save some space. 😀😀

This was an experience of two parts. As with all Ivy's the decor is beautiful and the staff very help and friendly. Starter of truffle pasta and duck salad were delicious. As was fish and chips. The burger was a huge disappointment. If you are spending close to £20 on a burger and chips it should be juicy and delicious. This was dry and way overcooked. The head waiter explained that they don't make their own patties and hence they are cooked well done. I was able to swap it for the shepherds pie which is always a good choice. So if you can't offer a good burger, don't offer one at all

Brunch was really bad. I would not eat it in general, but when I add price tag to it, the whole experience becomes ridiculous :(. The service was ok, they somehow didn't really care, didn't try to focus on anything, more like a robots - but they smiled and said things like "wonderful".

We made a last minute reservation and sat at the bar, but still had a very nice experience. The service was friendly and the food was excellent.

The service was really good. A cozy and cute cafe and restaurant, very close to the tower bridge. Depending on where you sit, you get the chance to have a very nice view of the Thames and the bridge! Very good cup of tea, and the food that was being served at the table next to us looked so good we certainly would have stayed for lunch if we had not eaten before!

The best for me personally is Bath, but this was just as good. My word, what great food and as usual very well presented and the waiter was a dream just on the scales of professionalism but with a dash of humour.

The waiter was terrible. We were overcharged on our final bill and when I pointed this out, he condescendingly tells me "I know it's confusing, but it's right". It felt sexist and that he was talking down at me, implying that I'm not capable of understanding basic math because it's "confusing" and I should just pay. I showed him the two items that were over charged, he continued to gaslight me and say "yes it's confusing, the bill is right though". I replied to say it's not confusing, it's written on the bill, I've pointed it out to you and you've made a mistake. He took the bill away and after waiting 10mins comes back to say ok I moved things around and you've settled already. At time I didn't make a fuss, but I'm actually very angry about it. I will not be returning to the Ivy.

Super nice restaurant in great location. I had a table with view on a Tower bridge, it was fantastic. Good menu with interesting positions. The cocktail was fancy. Unusual taste of desert. Pleasant service. They add service fee in receipt.

Lovely, sumptuous room and staff at the front desk give this a decidedly "premium" feel, but sadly the food does not match the service or surroundings. Sunday lunch (roast beef) was fine, 2 smallish and very thick cuts of meat, passable potatoes and veg but very thin and tasteless gravy - not what you would expect for £30!! Burger looked great but was slightly overcooked and dense. My tomato and coriander salad was completely missed off the order. Thankfully I was not charged for it. Service a little overattentive and manic. The whole place is a bit style over substance - everything looks good, but at this price point, it should be a lot better and go beyond its chain credentials.

Fabulous buzz at The Ivy Tower Bridge tonight. Lovely staff, great service and atmosphere. Thanks to Matteo and his team namely Front of House: Paloma and Bethany, at table: Carlos for breakfast and Ayesha for dinner who was new. Had duck Curry and the famous Shepherds Pie followed by Crème Brûlée with espresso.

If I'm honest I was a fair bit disappointed, first time visiting this Ivy but I've been to quite a few others. I found the welcome was fine, view of tower bridge was great but the service after that wasn't great. We had been sat in a bit of a corner and the chap looking after us seemed very busy, not blaming him, I think they needed more staff. The price of the food has gone up significantly and you no longer get a side with most mains. Add to that they have removed some of the best dishes from the menu and all in all not a great experience. I usually love the ivy and was dining with 2 people who had never been to an Ivy restaurant before, but I was left thinking I wouldn't rush back.
