Service was fantastic. The food was nice but not "special" which I reserve for a 5/5. As far as chain restaurants go this was pretty good. Not extortionate, but comes with a relatively high price, but I think you have to consider the level of service.

Service was excellent and they managed to get us served and out in a very short time span which meant that we were able to catch a train. Food was hot, tasty and well presented. From start to finish staff were pleasant and courteous.

First visit to The Ivy, Birmingham, and it didn't disappoint. Although the food is very good, it's the top quality service from every member of staff that really makes the visit special. Not the cheapest place to eat in Birmingham, but ultimately you get what you pay for and in this respect The Ivy delivered way beyond our expectations.

We had afternoon tea, served by Shezy. He brought us tea, in a silver pot, then sandwiches, cakes and scones. Shezy would be at home at Raffles or in Sandringham.

My wife and I went for dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Well, what a shambles from start to finish. Seated quickly, however drinks took half an hour to come even though they only had to take the top off a bottle! After chasing the starters these came 1 hour after we'd been seated...followed one minute later by our main course which we had no choice but to send back. The mains were recooked from scratch, however by the time they came we'd been in the restaurant over an hour and a half. Just very poor service as all good waiting staff should keep an eye on tables and query if they can't see food or drinks knowing an order has been placed. We do not complain generally, however we did on this occasion given such poor service and an anniversary meal effectively ruined, although by this point it was becoming so bad that it was comical. In fairness to the manger, he fully accepted the shambles and was very apologetic. In the end the cost of the starter, desserts, drinks and service charge (which we'd have refused to pay in any event) were waived, therefore we only paid for the mains, however given that they had to cook these twice (the first being binned) meant a meagre night for the restaurant. The mains themselves were nothing to write home about with the Ivy Burger being on a par with what an average pub churns out. All in, a special evening spoilt.

Great food and staff service as always at the Ivy restaurants. Served by a very smart and polite young lady. Unfortunately as with all Ivy restaurants the 12.5% optional service charge that's added to your bill does NOT go to the staff. So if you get good service (which you will), decline the service charge and tip your server directly!

Tried the 2 course fixed menu for the first time and was delightful, just the right amount of food and for the price perfect for an early dinner. We were looked after by a lovely gentleman, well presented and charming, oozed classic service with a slight playful character (Shezy i think) - just right for The Ivy. Dinner for two came to about 75 including service. Couple drinks, hot bevs to finish and a glass of wine for me.

Wow! We were so impressed with the Ivy. Fabulous food, good portions and even better staff. Thank you so much for looking after us for my Hen brunch. Cute surprise of bringing out a little pudding for me too to say congratulations. We all had a fabulous time and really appreciate the service and quality. We will be back soon.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had in a restaurant where I was kept waiting for an hour after starters for a burger. When the burger arrived I'd already asked for a refund and so chose not eat it as I knew it would have been rushed. Manager on duty on the 13th of April 2024 was in my opinion hostile and did not apologise or even offer an explanation. Disgusting behaviour.

Beautiful restaurant and food was amazing. Service was exceptional from our wonderful waiter called Shezy. He looked after us so well and nothing was too much trouble.

What a disappointing experience. Rushed service when it was present as they wanted the table back. If they had advised us of this at the time of booking we would have been forewarned. Instead we were rushed not even asked about wine.. and when I finally got a wine list the sever disappeared and we had ho wait to order . We ended up with only having mains (which at least were excellent) When we ordered coffees and dessert we brought the bill without asking, so we took the hint and left. I’ve never had a bad experience here so I’ll take it hopefully as a one off. The food as ever was great which partially redeemed our experience

Steak was served well done when I asked for medium rare. Was sent back and then brought back rare. I just ate it as I was starving but overall food isn’t the best. Service is quite slow but understandable in a busy place. I go back every couple years and always regret it

Breakfast visit to celebrate my wife's birthday and our anniversary. We enjoyed the usual cheery welcome and seated by Beverley. Beverley is a wonderful constant on our visits and her exceptional service shone through - offered our usual drinks and talked us through best offer breakfast menu, and knew how we had our breakfast cooked, such is her customer knowledge and attention to detail. Throughout our visit, she took time to attend to our every need, as well as serving other customers, redressing tables and scanning the floor for her colleagues ensuring everyone was happy. Beverley is that very rare breed, where customer service isn't her job - it's a way of life and sense of pride which means that nothing is left to chance and that we wanted for nothing. Food cooked to perfection, table immaculately dressed and Beverley on her A-game. The Ivy excelled themselves and they should be exceptionally proud of having Beverley on their team. A birthday and anniversary like no other - thanks Bev!

Absolutely amazing experience at The Ivy Temple Row this week. Raimond was absolutely amazing, so accommodating and really went above and beyond to ensure we were having a good time. Thank you to everyone working on the 11th April for ensuring such a memorable experience.

I took my friend for her first visit to The Ivy, we went for lunch to celebrate her birthday. We had a lovely meal we was served by Pavel he was so friendly and attentive. I thought it was so lovely Cleibe came over to say hello he has been our waiter when I have dined there with my other friend. Our meal was absolutely delicious everything was perfect. Looking forward to my next visit.

We went for afternoon tea. The sandwiches were not dainty but very tasty, the cake's VERY sweet, too sweet for us, and unfortunately all the fruit had in the scones sunk! Would I go again? Not for afternoon tea but definitely for lunch or dinner.

Absolutely love the food and vibe here. Currently worshipping the new version chicken Milanese without the egg, utterly gorgeous. Can the service be quickened please , we were there over 2.5 hours for 2 courses.

Went for breakfast for my daughters 40th birthday ..staff were great food was lovely and they even brought her a suprise cake with candle. 4th time we've been and at different times all meals have great choice will definitely be returning again .

It's always good in an Ivy Restaurant and this one is no exception. We had steaks which were excellent. Service was very good too.

Had a lovely birthday dinner in the Ivy Birmingham. Atmosphere was great, food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Very attentive servers with great food suggestions. Vincenzo was our server for the evening and he really was fantastic. Great food suggestions, lovely friendly service and checked in at the appropriate times too. First time visiting The Ivy and it had that "wow factor" as soon as we walked in. The service was brilliant, the atmosphere was perfect and most importantly the food was incredible. The cost of the food can be seen as pricey, however the food is well worth it. Probably not somewhere to visit on a regular basis, but is perfect for a nice treat. I would absolutely love to return to The Ivy again soon and would recommend it to everyone. A perfect evening!

Went yesterday for lunch, we had the set 2 course for £19.27, which is a bargain. I started with the bang bang crispy chicken which was delicious, followed by the grilled halloumi. My friend had the onion soup followed by the Shepard’s pie. All the food was delicious, portion sizes excellent, the staff were very attentive & the surroundings beautiful. It’s smart casual, there was plenty of people in jeans and trainers, it has a very relaxed atmosphere.

Once again The Ivy exceeded expectations with their incredible food. This restaurant holds a special place in my heart as one of my absolute favorites. With each visit, the dishes never fail to impress, leaving me eager to return time and time again.The flavors are consistently outstanding, showcasing the culinary expertise of the chefs. From the first bite to the last, every dish is a culinary delight, making each visit a memorable experience.I can't praise this restaurant enough. It's the kind of place I would gladly visit a million times over. If you're searching for a dining spot that consistently delivers exceptional food and a fantastic experience, look no further than The Ivy. It's simply the best!

Food service was slow waited 1 hour for main food

Service is absolutely awful. Got off on a bad footing as soon as we arrived as a member of the party is on crutches, so unable to climb the stairs - "in future put this on your booking" (we did!). Approx 15 minutes to be asked if we wanted drinks. Quite a wait to order food. Once ordered it arrived promptly and was hot and fresh. Service lacked all evening, even with theirs being 3 members of management/supervisors overseeing the area we were seated in. Had to chase up and request all additional drinks. Asked if we would like desserts, menus given and then left for 25 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes for them, we decided to just pay the bill and leave as it was getting late and we had an hour's drive home ahead. Waitress was shocked we didn't want to wait any longer. Manager took a gesture of money off the bill to apologise for the poor service - but still left the service charge on😂 had given up by this point as didn't want to ruin what was meant to be a family birthday meal. At just under £60 a head for what I would describe as "chain restaurant" food, the service could at least be better given the sheet volume of people working

Unable to adapt any dishes for food intolerance. Over priced for what seemingly was your standard "chain restaurant" fodder.

Hugely overrated restaurant. Service was poor and slow. Food was tasteless. Appetiser was basically a French boule loaf with 5 olives and main was a tiny piece of cod. Definitely would not recommend and won’t be coming back. Very disappointing as came for our 10 year anniversary.

Found the Ivy still to be delivering service and food still at the highest level. Despite being really busy the team were fabulous. A credit to everyone and in particular our waiter Fortunata he was brilliant. The quality of the foos excellent and the drinks also. Thanks to all.

We booked in advance but our table wasn’t ready when we arrived so we were asked to wait at the bar. We ordered a drink while we were waiting however they seemed to forget about us as we ended up waiting around 1 hour for our table. Food and service was great aside from that

Bad service. I had to ask for them to take our order after a lengthy wait. The starters arrived before our drinks which also took a lengthy wait to arrive. The cottage pie main course was cold. We were too hungry now to send them back, so ate them. They were tasty but cold. My wife had a free dessert as it was her birthday but it was stale pastry and they served it to her before taking my dessert order so we ate them at different time. I paid the bill as not to make a fuss on my wife's birthday and once I paid, the manager asked me if the meal was ok. A little late. So I told her. She was sorry. Bad service and bad cooking means we wont be returning.

Lovely setting and priced accordingly. That’s ok if your food is up to scratch. In this case we both had burgers that we didn’t finish because they were overdone and dry. And it was all really quite unimaginative. We chose not to fuss about it with the management because that causes its own meal-ruining dynamic. So £110!spent disappointingly on a Monday night: we will probably just never go back.

So slow. 2 1/2 hours it took for two courses. We did order dessert but waited so long we lost the will to live and left without. The food was actually really good, but when you’re charging premium prices you need to have the service to justify them.

Ate a dry overdone burger. Both myself and my partner didn’t finish our meals. I don’t really like to spend £110 on a Monday evening treat that turns into a confrontation with the management. So we just left disappointed and probably won’t ever be back. Nice decor can only take a dining experience so far. But the staff were generally very nice.

This was my first visit to The Ivy and I have to say there is something really special about this place. The interior design is beautiful, the food was amazing and all of the staff were friendly and professional. If there is a tiny criticism it would be that there is a slight lack of privacy with the tables being so close together but it did not really detract from us having a truly wonderful evening.

Great food and drink options, all of which were delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant was particularly nice, great ambience and the decor and finish looked well taken care of.

Five stars in every respect. Good reception, the place is more than wonderful, the breakfast is excellent every time and the service is fast. The place is amazing. I thank them the restaurant five star and everything is good and nice from service or when it comes is very very clean and the place is amazing thank you so much

Absolutely wonderfull. The staff's treatment is exquisite, they gave us a table with a view (and we were with two children). The place is beautiful and the place is great for a special lunch or dinner or afternoon tea. The food was delicious 😋. The kids ordered bolognese pasta and it was delicious. The menu of the day was very tasty... and the scones were from another planet. All positive and highly recommended.

The Ivy does serve some beautiful food, but was let down by the serving experience. On arrival we were met by a queue of customers waiting to enter because the front of house lady at the door was explaining that a table for 4 with a pushchair was for 4 humans (including baby) and not 5. The manner in which this was done was very demeaning and far worse than I would have expected . Our waitress was quite miserable and never smiled once, not even to greet us. Other waiting staff were also poor and would just dump things (such as the mayonnaise) on the table without a word. The usual Ivy policy of keeping the white wines on ice in a central location is only ok if the serving staff keep an eye on your glasses but not when you need to wave repeatedly to get attention. To be honest it put a dampener on the meal. And automatically adding 12.5% for that level of service was ridiculous – we adjusted downwards. £220 later for 4 of us, the experience should have been much better. Sorry you let yourself down and spoilt our birthday meal.

Lovely lunch although we had to ask where our mains were when we noticed other food being brought out that was ordered way after ours. Would visit again. Good presentation and a warm welcome.

The Ivy has become a noisy, overpriced high St. chain. The food is hit and miss though i have to say, their twice backed cheese soufflé is a joy. The service is always good though getting the bill and paying it is sometimes a trial. We are cistomers of Brighton , Birmingham, London, Harrogate and Edinburgh restaurants. (Edingburgh and Brighton were very good so this is a general opinion)

The Ivy had always been my go to restaurant for special celebrations but after experiencing the awful 2 vegetarian or should I say vegan options as vegetarians no longer seem to be catered for I will not be returning. Not everyone is vegan. The vegetarian options were always so tasty before.

Went for Valentine's Day with my partner and we had an amazing experience! Food was fantastic and the service was great. We had both been working that day and were feeling tired, but everyone was so nice and chatty that it was exactly what we needed to end our evening on a positive note! Special thanks to Marek!

Very busy Friday evening, the atmosphere was lovely with dim lighting and classy background music. The food was perfect and I will definitely come back again.

We came here for a celebration lunch and were not disappointed! From the moment you walk in, the service is excellent, greeted by a smile and a cheery welcome. The decor is also fabulous, classy, and also fun. It has that art deco feel but with modern twists. The food was excellent, if you are vegetarian ask for the veggie menu! I had the shepherd's pie, which was amazing! Sides come separate , so this pushes up the price, but it is worth it for this experience . Our waiter was very attentive and nothing was too difficult for them. The only down side for me was that I felt the service was a little slow, but we simply enjoyed the surroundings. I would love to go back in the evening and try out the dinner options.

Enjoyed a lovely Friday morning brunch, we all selected the set breakfast, which has two options for a blended drink, then pastries , followed by cooked breakfast. The mixed berries smoothie was delicious and fresh. Pastries warmed and tasty. Vegetarian cooked breakfast was just as yummy. Fantastic atmosphere and friendly staff. Thank you for a lovely morning.

The food was alright not the best I had a burger and it was tasteless , drinks and starter was good our server did an amazing job I forgot his name but I know he is an Afro-Italian even though the food wasn’t the best his service made our overall experience better

I was taken out by two dear friends of mine after almost a year in hospital. It was my first trip out & I was slightly anxious as I was in a wheelchair. I need not have worried the table was very accessible & the disabled toilet was nearby. Staff were extremely good & the service was excellent. The food was delicious every single course was so nice. Lovely ambiance in the restaurant & as it was quiet we were not rushed from the table. For my first trip.out it was a memorable experience.

Hate leaving bad reviews but I am always honest about my experience (hopefully it was just a one off). Went for dinner a few weeks ago. Some of the worst service I have experienced and the mains food was really quite poor. Had the cod for mains and it had literally zero flavour. The starters and drinks were ok. Really disappointed as the one in Manchester is excellent.

Despite several attempts to recreate the magic of the original Covent Garden restaurant, the Ivy Brasserie in Birmingham joins the growing list of this expanding chain’s eateries to miss the mark. The tepid food, the staff redolent of a fast food chain more than a high-end dining room, and the young clientele void of style and sophistication make this brasserie sadly nothing more than an “upmarket” watering hole for kids with some coin to drop. It seems the original Ivy will never be bettered, and I’m willing to wager that not a single team member in B’ham has even stepped foot inside it and sampled, first-hand, what the true Ivy experience should be. If they have, they have a long way to go in recreating it. To make matters worse, the men’s bathroom was filled with the odorous stench of stale urine. This is a watered-down experience overall and a blight on the Ivy brand.

I have to say we had a fantastic time at The Ivy for Friendsmas! The customer service was sensitive and perceptive. The food is consistently perfect. I attended the previous day too for my sister’s birthday but the Salmon was not available. Positively, I was able to eat the salmon at Friendsmas. It was worth the wait. It is the Ivy’s attention to detail that remains second to none. We had Christmas crackers and a wonderful booth for our meal together. The had the ice cream dessert which came with generous sized biscuits. I could have ordered two!! The only down side was the fact that the restaurant was quite busy due to the time of year. Towards the end we were slightly rushed as there was another booking. I wished there was more space in the venue to relax after eating. We would have spent more had there been space to lounge. However, space is often a luxury. I will forever rate the Ivy! Good and service top tier.

The service was good. The atmosphere was beautiful. However, the breakfast food quality was marginally better than other restaurants in the area at a massive premium in price.

First and definitely not my last time at visiting this amazing place. Food and staff was so good.
