Gas Street Social in Birmingham

No phone number and no response to emails. I can’t be arsed with doing a 15 minute google search to try and call to amend a booking. If I had the option I’d just cancel it altogether.

Food was absolutely shocking... booked a bottomless drinks for my friends birthday as it is made out on the website bottomless drinks were separate to food so seemed cheeper than most bottomless brunches. Turns out this was NOT the case and we were rudley told you have to by a main or can share 3 small plates with someone for £16 which was annoying but didn't sound too bad so is what me and one of my friends opted for. We ordered beef tacos, shrimp tacos and cheesy garlic bread...what came was ONE pathetic shrimp taco and ONE pathetic beef with BURNT garlic bread. The other food my friends ordered was just as dissapointing. We were appalled to say the least and they had the cheek to add a service charge!! Restaurant looks lovley and atmosphere seemed nice but don't be fooled!

Waited over half an hour for our food. Waiter didn’t bother bringing over table water as requested when ordering. The coffees arrived luke warm. The food arrived cold! Overall poor service, and very slow chefs. Won’t ever go back

Ordered the southern fried chicken club gluten free with no guacamole…. Really wished I hadn’t it tasted like there was no chicken in the batter. it was just the weirdest tasting chicken I’ve ever had plus they’d put the guacamole on. Apart from that service was excellent a cocktails were really good. I wouldn’t go back for food but definitely for drinks.

Thursday night about 7:30. we ordered 2 x half kilo of wings and a side of the Quac and bacon nachos. All was well cooked and presented. Greg looked after us from entering to leaving. GSS is very lucky to have staff like this. Well done guys...back again soon.

My third time at Gas Street Social and it certainly did not disappoint! Attentive service, great menu and cocktail choices. Happy Hour is a must! Highly recommended!

We had the grilled cheese and was slightly warm. My partner ate this and felt like she needed to throw up after. Definitely avoid this on the menu if you can.

I've been here on several occasions over a 10 year period and the service has always been on point. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is always great. Fabulous place for day drinking or evening dinner/drinks with friends or family.

This place was great; we were served by a woman called Chanel and she was the most welcoming worker we had come across and served us very quickly and with care, lovely worker. Overall the service we received was exceptional!!!!

This was definitely the worse bottomless brunch i have ever been to! The selection of drinks is rubbish, they don't serve prosecco which i thought was odd, and you have to pay for your food separately. To me a bottomless brunch included food. The staff were really friendly and helpful, couldn't fault them at all, and the food was really nice, but I would not recommend and will definitely not go back.

Came with 5 friends for a 21st birthday celebration. Initally very when we came in but it later picked up. The staff seemed friendly but were initally not very quick at serving the drinks. However, one of the waiters took over our table later on and the experience definitely improved- he was incredibly friendly and really quick on getting the drinks. I never got his name but he definitely made our experience better! I thought the food was ok, I had the vegan burger but I thought the fake meat was quite chewy- not like anything I'd had before. The bill came to about £41 each in the end- bit on the steeper side, but it was a nice atmosphere and an overall nice evening out. Would definitely like to come back for drinks at some point.

Absolutely excellent customer service, Greg was a amazing host. Brilliant knowledge of all food and drink options. Charming with such a friendly uplifting personality, he made our afternoon so much fun He is a credit to the company

Recommend by a local friend during our visit to Birmingham recently. Lovely breakfast and atmosphere. We spent a good 2 hours there. We weren’t rushed as our drinks were flowing. I would return next time I’m in Birmingham.

Absolutely amazing. Definitely coming here again. Our waitress Chanel was so lovely, and made sure there was atleast 2 drinks per person at the table. We felt so welcome the second we walked in and the service was rapid, made the experience so much better, it was absolutely lovely. I highly recommend!

Our waitress Emma was superb - we were a large group and she was entertaining, funny and patient with us. Food & drinks can be good anywhere but service really does make the difference and we would gladly come back again.

One of my favourites spots for lunch when I'm in the office is this place that serves incredible Cajun shrimp tacos! The lunch menu is reasonably priced at £12 for two shrimp tacos and chips. I just wish they offered halal options!

Went for breakfast got there for 10.00 as we had booked, when we walked in there was only one other couple in there, we told staff we had a reservation so they would take us to,our table we asked if we could have a booth but they said we couldn't they took us to our table which was in the corner, we felt separate from the rest of the restaurant, if it was busy would be fine but another couple came in and we're put in the main part by the window and then a family of about 8 came in and were also in the main part and that was it! So firstly they could have let us have a booth or after least put us in the main area instead of being hidden away, although the food was lovely just felt uncomfortable, even when we left it was emptyish not sure would go back sadly

My friend&I came here for our first ever bottomless brunch&if it wasn't for the amazing service I don't think we would have come back. Everyone that we spoke too was polite&kind but our main server Phebe was absolutely out of this world!💯 She was funny, informative&super friendly in explaining how it all works&so a HUGE thanks to her for creating such a fun, enjoyable atmosphere👏🏻 That being said the food was a bit of a let down it was nicely presented but lacked the most important thing - flavour&if I'm being honest had we not been so hungry we wouldn't have ate it at all.

Misleading menu. Food was luke warm & took a long time to serve. No staff interaction to ask if food was ok? “Social” in the name excludes the staff unfortunately. Nice venue, great location but no “service” after entrance greeting.

A good spot for drinks and a catch up with friends. The first espresso martini I ordered was really good. They have a fun selection of cocktails. We found ordering via the QR code quicker than the bar, but some food menu offers didn’t seem to be available online which meant having to use the bar to order.

Tried the bottomless brunch experience during our visit to Birmingham, and it did not disappoint! Definitely worth it to try. The food is filling and tasteful, the drinks are great, overall, it was a really good experience here. Been here thrice and will continue to come each time I’m here.

The welcome was ok, we were waiting outside, as we got there 5 minutes before it opened. Once they opened, we went in and shown to our table, the coffee was warm and it had a funny colour to it. So I asked for another black coffee and it was the same, so I didn't drink it. I asked for sugar and that seemed like I was asking for alot, had to ask 3 times, and they were bringing 1 sugar at the time. Food was delicious and portions were generous, would be back for food. But definitely not for coffee.

Had a lovely vegan breakfast! It was a big portion and really delicious.

Need to get opening times correct. Advertised open at 10am on new years day. Got there at 10;50, was told didn't open until 11.00. Told them website said open at 10, just shrugged. They didn't even offer to let us stay and wait the 10 mins until 11.

BEST bottomless brunch in Birmingham!!!! We had Millie as our server and she was lovely (floor Millie, not bar Millie, although I’m sure bar Millie is amazing too), super attentive and kept the drinks flowing throughout the whole 90mins!!! Food was absolutely amazing too. 10/10 Food, 10/10 Drinks, 10/10 Service. 100% would recommend and definitely will be back! EDIT: Met Bar Millie, I was right, she is amazing too!

Dropped in for an hour before going to the theatre with my son. Ordered a Madri at the bar and sat in a booth. Difficult to tell how you go about ordering food so I asked at the bar. Was told to order at the bar when I was ready. Only one staff member at the bar who seemed to be fully occupied making cocktails. After 10 minutes a young guy approached and said he would take my order. I ordered Chicken Skewers with a side of onion rings. The menu is difficult to navigate and confusing, even though it is on a single card. Ended up with one skewer of 5 small cubes of chicken and a small portion of skinny fries, small slaw and plate dressing greens. £16.95 was £7.95 too much. Large onion rings at £4.95 was reasonable. When it was time to leave I asked to pay but had to go to the bar to hurry the process up. Single bar staff member not too pleased as they were still busy with cocktails. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant and don't imagine I'll be going back.

Chanel was absolutely fantastic to us this evening! Making recommendations on food and drinks and she recommended the bar tender special drink made by Adam who was also brilliant!

We came to the Gas Street Social because of a recommendation (thank you Greg from the Hart) , and it absolutely lives up to the hype. Chanel looked after us so well, we were never left wanting for anything for our whole visit, and the drinks by Adam were phenomenal. Couldn’t recommend enough for a bottomless brunch - the food absolutely killed, so much flavour and generous portions. Thank you! Xoxo

Great independent restaurant in a fantastic location in Birmingham. We were a table of 12, on a work night out. Really good atmosphere, food was top quality, with everyone saying they enjoyed it. I had one of the burgers, which was massive and you could tell was made with decent beef, with a side of loaded fries (which could have been a meal in themselves) A lot of our party had the 3 small plates option which they all enjoyed. Decent cocktail menu, but also some local craft beer on tap. Staff were really friendly and efficient, toilets were spotless. Meal came to £31 per head, with everyone having a couple of drinks and a decent tip for the excellent staff. Would recommend and will definitely use again

Great burger and fries, very tasty. Only (very minor issue) was that the burger was so big I had to dismantle it before eating as my jaw wouldn't open wide enough! Would definitely come back and try another one.

We had the most fantastic afternoon for our get together. Millie the redhead (normally a bartender) went above and beyond and we were so glad she was our server. Millie understood all our dietary requirements and guided us to the most incredible cocktails. Our entire table was pleased with the wonderful service and attention to our table. Amazing bottomless brunch probably the best I’ve been to in Birmingham! We were celebrating a hen do and this was great. Food was incredible honestly I felt like I was in the USA - great themed breakfast, loads of choices and just great quality across the whole board. Staff were so lovely and entertaining - credit to the business! Brilliant atmosphere and good prices. Only slight hiccup was service is slow for drinks and would benefit from having pre - made cocktails ready perhaps as the place wasn’t super busy! Highly recommend ! Chicken waffles were amazing!

What a fantastic place. Great food and even better service. Unfortunately my glass fell and smashed but Gabe was amazing and saved the day and saved our whole night with his excellent sweeping skills!

Myself and my hubby called in today and we were served by Gabe who was very attentive from start to finish. My hubby has a dairy allergy and he was very clear about what he could pick from the menu and checked in with the kitchen staff. We are here visiting and Gabe told us a few local places to try which was extremely helpful. Lovely place, beautiful food and incredible service. Thanks Gabe see you soon in Mama Roux's 🤣

Not suitable for disabled people as toilets are upstairs , . We ordered a chicken burger and this is what it came out as. The cocktails are far too expensive and they are watered down a lot . The mail worker was rude and acted like he couldn’t see what was wrong with it , there is also no aircon, the table was dirty Moral of the story don’t eat here

My friends and I met up in Birmingham after not seeing each other for a long time, some of us are in London, some in the Chilterns and one in Sheffield, so we chose Birmingham as a meeting place. I selected Gas Street Social after looking at lots of options for a bottomless brunch. The company website states “our bottomless lunch is the stuff of legends”. I’m sorry but this couldn’t be further from the truth. While the staff were pleasant and the food tasted good, the portions were tiny and the drinks were watered down to an extent that after 90 mins of bottomless cocktails, we left not even feeling tipsy in the slightest. It was really disappointing and I would tell anyone reading this review to steer clear of Gas Street Social.

The service we received from our waitress alone was definitely a 5 star service, sadly this was overshadowed by her obnoxious male colleague with the black and white striped long sleeve top and spikey hair. After 10 of us spent more than £367 at the bottomless brunch and the bar, the waitress came to our table to politely say that the table time had ran out but she would find out where we could stand to finish our drinks, or if there was another table to stand by with the drinks. No issues with the waitress, she was brilliant. The male waiter / bar staff followed her over and abruptly said after she had walked off ‘‘you all need to leave now you’ve paid and been asked to leave’’ a member of our table informed him we were waiting to be told where we can go with the drinks to which he replied ‘no there isn’t anywhere, you need to leave and take the party elsewhere we need the space’. Leaving wasn’t a problem if we were spoken to properly and the fries didn’t taste of fish! We stood outside in the pouring rain at the tables because we were rudely rushed out after the bill was paid, we asked ‘’Mr Happy’’ if someone could bring the awning down for cover and was told no, it’s broken. I understand everyone has an off day working in hospitality but come on! The female working our table though was brilliant, shame about her male colleague though. Only issue with the food was that the fries tasted of fish which we left and was issued fresh fries by the waitress. The fishy fries would have been overlooked until the waiter put his foot in his mouth with his rudeness.

We recently visited Gas Street Social for breakfast and had a mixed experience. Our server, Ben, was amazing—friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout our meal, which really elevated the experience. The coffee was served at a perfect temperature, but I found it could have been a bit stronger to really hit the spot. As for the food, I tried the Eggs Burgerdict and the Avo & Eggs. The Eggs Burgerdict was just okay. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly, with a lovely runny yolk, but the sausage patties were disappointingly dry. Additionally, the English muffins were tough and a bit difficult to cut through, which detracted from the overall enjoyment of the dish. On the other hand, the Avo & Eggs were quite nice. Again, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the added bacon was a highlight—crispy and full of flavor. However, the bread it was served on was also tough, making it hard to cut and somewhat challenging to eat. Overall, while there were some hits and misses with the food, the excellent service from Ben and the cozy atmosphere made for a pleasant breakfast experience. With a few tweaks to the dishes, this could easily become a go-to spot for a morning meal.

Really good food and service but a bit hectic for my taste. But I guess if the music's too loud, I'm too old.

This location is amazing to have a brunch with friends and family, or even by yourself. With such a nice view of the canal, beautiful modern decor and comfortable seating, this is the ideal location. The atmosphere is beautiful in the summer to have the option to also sit outside for a nicer view, but I’m sure it will also be great in the winter. If eating here, I would recommend the full English pancakes! The pancakes have the perfect mixture of sweet and savoury with a lovely syrup that mixes well with the rest of the meal. 10/10 This location is also very insta worthy and great for some quick posts for your stories. The service also makes it even better with the waiters and waitresses all being so kind and helpful, checking up on you often. A MUST VISIT (The restaurant is up some stairs, so it wouldn’t be the best for wheelchair access)

Cajun shrimp tacos and the buttermilk chicken tenders were great. The tortilla chips less so but still a very nice place for a lunch.

The food took 40 minutes to arrive and the customer service was bad. We stood at the entrance as it was our first time waiting to be approached by a member of staff but they ignored us so we found a booth to sit in. Then we placed our orders using the qr code - we waited for a very long time before the food arrived. This isnt the place to go for a meal but if youre finding a place to go for drinks then this place is ideal

Showed up and was given such a warm welcome by our waiter Ben , we were quickly seated and gave menus and talked through everything. He made sure to cater to everything we asked for with a smile, it was a lovely experience, 10/10 would come again. He was everything you could want from a server and made you feel at ease.

When we arrived, the staff informed us that children were not allowed. The place was almost empty inside, but still, we were not allowed to eat. First time this happened to us in the UK. This is not clear on the website so we were very disappointed.

What a cool place. We always come here for bottomless. The staff are super friendly, the food is so good and the drinks keep flowing. We’re on mimosas to keep the day young, but they’re enough to get us going. Kirsty is a great server and you’ll be in great hands with her. Thank you again for a great time, we will be back.

Did a bottomless brunch here on Saturday the 6th of July and was pleasantly surprised!! Was only meant to be coming for breakfast but Ben sold the bottomless brunch to us and we couldn’t say no. Drinks were really quick thanks to Bens speedy service and the food was delicious . Will definitely come back again!!

Been to Gas Street Social a few times and the service is always amazing and the staff is always friendly and happy to help in anyway possible. I recently brought a friend here for lunch and was greeted by our server Ben who was very friendly and kept checking up on us throughout our time there. He’s was always smiling and patient with us and did a fantastic job of explaining the menu to certain dietary needs. Ben is a credit to the Gas Street Social team.

The bartender was great, and made us whatever we wanted (and made it well). The place had a good, vibrant atmosphere. The food was good, but it wasn't exactly what it purported to be (hard to call those nachos Mexican...).

Visited Gas Street again and was served by Ben who is the newest server. Was amazed that he remembered us from the last visit. He was very attentive and friendly. Our food, which was amazing, was received in good time and he checked back to ensure everything was fine. Nothing was too much trouble and he ensured our visit was a good experience - we will be going back again

Came to celebrate my friends university results. Ben and Greg were super friendly, knowledgable about the menu and provided amazing service. Also loved the 2 for £12 cocktail deal. We will definitely be back!!

We had a brilliant bottomless brunch afternoon on Saturday. fabulous atmosphere & the staff were amazing. The frisco frickle burger was to die for & if you're having rhe bottomless brunch I recommend the peach sangria. I will be back to try the rhubarb & custard cocktail (they were all out)

Although some of the food was nice and the atmosphere is top notch, this wouldn’t be a place I would travel out of the way for. We didn’t have to wait long for the table and there were plenty to choose from. The menus quite varied and there’s a lot of tempting food options. You have a choice of ordering/paying through the app or having table service and once we decided to go with the former, the waitress seemed a bit standoff-ish after hearing this. The nachos were probably the highlight of our choices although the cheese slice on top wasn’t fully melted. The Dirty South burger was beyond disappointing - bland, watery and no flavour at all. Chicken tenders were well cooked but batter had no flavour. It’s on the pricier side, more than likely given where it is. But after our experience it’s not somewhere we’ll be looking to come back.

Went here on a date Friday afternoon. Overall appearance of the place is amazing. Great vibe overall even though the majority of people were outside. The food was good, but found for the price I felt it was a little lack-luster. My partner ordered dirty south, but we found it was mainly just lettuce unfortunately. I had the frickle burger which I personally really enjoyed. The chicken strip sides were also really good.
