Jahed Cuisine of India in Birmingham

Booked for 33 people for a familly birthday celebration. Staff were helpfull and accomodating with seating arrangements for such a large group. Food came out on time and was delicious. Staff are helpfull and friendly and prices reasonable. You can also take your own drinks but they do have a bar aswell. Would definitely book again for a large group.

The service in this restaurant is always friendly, personalised, and excellent. We visit whenever we are in the area. The food is freshly cooked, beautifully presented, and really tasty. The value for money is astonishing. Highly recommend a visit.

Poor service, rude and pushy, terrible food. Had to send dishes back. Then tried to rip us off in the bill. Been here many times and it was great, this new manager the younger guy needs to learn from the other manager! He was brilliant

Had the prawn curry ☹️☹️ just a plate of water,did mention it to the manager and to my belief it was my fault,,,then told next time I'll do you a nice curry 😉 no way they will not be a next time,,,

They deserve more than 5 stars. Excellent service and very friendly and welcoming staffs from the moment you step in the restaurant. The restaurant was clean with nice set up. The food was delicious with a bonus of being halal, my children loved the butter chicken and the butter nan. Thanks for the service and continue the hard work.

Me and my partner popped in as we drive by Jahed alot & since our initial visit we have been every week since. Abdul, Sid and Kam made our curry vist, they are absolutely fantastic. Delicious food, great service, friendly and funny can't fault it at all. Lots of love for the whole team, Stacey aka Melissa.

The food and staff are amazing. After our first visit we left with a cobra glass and bottle. We've been many times after and every visit gets better. I'm vegetarian and their paneer balti is 10 10

Very friendly place, always look after us and the kids. Consistently good food. Highly recommend the Naga Chicken if you like a bit of spice but meals always consistently good in here regardless.

Reasons for 3 stars- Very tasty food, However, very small portions ( eg 2 very small veg samosas is a portion, 3 prawns was a portion in the Garlic Prawns ( both starters ) Plus I HATE restaurants that dye their food bright red. We had Chicken Tikka Pathia, however the colour was extremely off putting. It’s a shame as the food is tasty, but I won’t be ordering again.

First time visiting this restaurant so we were a bit dubious we didn't want to spoil a birthday. Staff were very friendly and welcoming on our arrival We were the only ones in there to start but it soon got busy and it was obvious that a lot of customers were regulars. We asked a few questions about the menu and staff were great at explaining what everything was. The food when it was served was amazing. The portions were of a very good size. It was presented really well and everything was fresh and tasty with just the right amount of spices Between us we had chicken tika masala chicken balti and biriyani with pilau rice and poppadoms Very nice. The prices were average but was impressed with the portion sizes You can also take in your own alcohol We didn't but a few customers did. We will definitely be going here again and 100% recommend eating here. You won't be disappointed Staff were attentive and there if we needed them. They wasn't hanging around us removing plates immediately....which we hate. They didn't rush us at all. Even when our table was cleared they told us no rush take your time. Visit if you haven't already. You won't be disappointed Thank you for a great birthday meal.

What have I just experienced ☹️☹️a delivery of a joke of a prawn curry I had to throw in the bin, prawns floating around in water that was supposed to be a curry,phoned to express my feelings and I got the blame, then the chef got the blame, didn't call me back just avoiding me so he didn't have to refund my money back, he still never refunded me,the owner just makes every excuse going, shame I've used this restaurant many times and my family but we want be spending our money at this place again very poor the way I have been treated absolutely shocking,,

Went in the restaurant for a takeaway, great service and attention to detail. Best curry I’ve ever eaten, lamb curry with sauce and chicken curry, with keema naan. Would highly recommend.

I have been eating in and getting takeaways from Jahed for 23 years (with intervals when I have lived outside the area) and I can say confidently it is my favourite Curry House in Sutton Coldfield...and there a lot of Indian Restaurants in and around Sutton Coldfield that I have tried! The food is delicious and tastes most authentic, the staff...the staff are so kind, welcoming, and accommodating. They also do vegan currys (no dairy). I only learnt this recently which makes the experience even more enjoyable. You must try, takeaway or eat in!

Hey the food was incredible my husband use to work there along time ago and he recommended it as we moved locally about 5mintes away from the superb restaurant I had a pasanda, don't like spicy food guys my hubby had a jalfrazie based curry in was a mix grill absolutely magnificent guys if something is not on the menu trust me guys don't be shy to ask, your man is Mr ABDUL his recommendations are spot on , seriously if you enjoy your Indian Food don't miss out very warm and welcoming .

Was introduced to Jahed by my cousin who has lived in the area for decades. While I like some dishes more than others, the food is consistently delicious so we have been returning to eat in and takeaway regularly. I recently took a close friend who is very choosy about his curries and he loved it. Our last meal included a lamb rogan josh and I don’t usually have lamb because it can be fatty, but this was possibly the loveliest lamb I have eaten in a curry. I am suspicious of the negative reviews on here because they don’t correspond with my experiences at all.

Absolutely terrible experience. Food arrived cold (probably uber eats fault...) but... food was inedible in any case, hot or cold. The keema naan was missing keema!! We found a total of 3 prawns in the prawn dish!! The saag aloo we ordered actually was delivered as saag paneer!! Curry was greasy and lamb was terrible!! I can't think of a worst place and experience I've had from indian cuisine. Absolutely never again from this place.

We did an Uber delivery today which arrived inside the estimated time slot, the food from Jahed was first rate . We have had many meals delivered over the past eight years and this one was well up to their superb standard especially when coupled with the Uber discount. We will order again offers or not thanks.

Food disgusting, not cooked properly, seekh kebab was raw in the middle, the manager was very rude and would not refund me as I paid on card ....he passed the phone on to another member of staff who was also rude and cut me of the phone ,I've took pictures and I will be reporting this immediately to fsi I know people who work in this and this needs to be shut down absolutely disgusting to be served food like this ....I had to give a start to post

Awful food, terribly overpriced and portions lacking in quantity. I've tried many Indians in this area and I expected higher quality from this place, considering the location and prices charged. I'm not sure how this place gets so many high reviews. My opinion is that the people posting reviews haven't eaten in any other Indian restaurants, in their entire lives. They also only have a 2* rating, when it comes to food standards. I discovered this, after we'd eaten there... Dreadful and we'll never go again. Try Chili Spice, instead.

Second time and the last takeaway we will order from this restaurant. Appalling service. Despite numerous chase up calls our food didn’t appear. An hour past it’s delivery time we found out the driver had delivered it to the wrong address! Avoid this restaurant for takeaways

Used to go here years ago, and quite liked it, we went recently and it was not great, just the same old, standard stuff, staff not really bothered, and didn’t feel great the next day🤢should have checked ‘Scores on The Doors’ rating ‘2’ 🥴

Went here for dinner on Friday night and the food was so good we went back and ate again the next night. There was so much choice that we couldn’t decide what to eat - so we ‘let the chef decide’ - £26.95 for 2 people. All of the food was really tasty and well presented and plenty of variety. The chef chose well! We ate the same meal the following night and the chef chose different meals for us. Again fantastic tasty and value. We return if ever we are next in town

Always good quality food and great service. Also I managed to grow a rose bush from a new shoot off a rose they gave me after the meal!

I attended the restaurant yesterday and it was my 21st birthday. The food and service were beyond excellent. The staff were fantastic and I feel that they provided a memory that I will never forget. Many thanks to The Jahed, Dom and family.

I ordered about 7 dishes. Every single dish all lamb dishes were a disappointment. Meat chewy and really no taste! The spicy dishes were not spicy at all . Sauce was tomato based. Thought I'd try something different from my usual place which is fantastic. Dont know why I thought I'd change to somewhere different. It was a waste of money really. Extremely disappointed. Had to go in bin. Sorry.

Ordered here for the first time and it was delicious! I rang ahead to ask if their balti and egg fried rice was gluten free (I have coeliac disease) and they didn’t hesitate to answer. Think I’ve found my new local Indian takeaway!

Ordered takeaway online for 7:00. Wouldn’t deliver so went to collect. Had to wait 40 minutes!! Not safe in Covid Times. Not really interested in how it tastes now. Won’t be returning sadly which is a shame as we like to support local.

What an awful experience!!! Our food took 2.5 hours to come and then obviously it was cold- didn’t expect it to be fresh out the kitchen but what a shocking service. I called after 2 hours and he said my order had left ten minutes ago and would be with me very soon... I will not be ordering for there again Hire more drivers or at least be honest about the wait time if you’re rushed

Delicious food and atmosphere is excellent.

I ordered a takeaway from Jahed this evening and it was the best Indian food i've had in a long time! We ordered the lamb chops, daal, saag aloo and butter chicken and all were delicious. All reasonably priced too - will definitely order again!

The staffs are nice and friendly.The food I actually tried chicken silsila is worth and they do give NHS discounts too.So if u wanna try some proper desi stuffs,this place is definitely a go..

I tried this Indian about 3 years ago for the first time.. and haven’t ordered anywhere else in birmingham since. Amazing service , friendly staff, piping hot take away and delicious as always. Always throw in free poppadoms and condiments and wish us well. Amazing 5 star curry house . From Harry and Kealy number Riland Avenue , keep up the amazing tasting food 👍👍👍

Had a delivery last night sat 23rd may was absolutely delicious. Buuuut only one thing a Madras sauce was missing from our order which was something like ,£2_50 or there about I needed it to hot my curry up as I have no sense of taste but did really enjoy the food

Two for ones on sundays and Mondays are beautiful. Great food and such a lil cutie always gives roses to all the hot hunnies.

We ordered 2 starters and 4 curries, and we were very disappointed the starters were lamb tikka and were very chewy but the flavour was there. The curries we had was a king prawn jalfrezi which had raw onions and raw green chillies like they had been thrown in a pot of sauce and absolutely no spice flavour just heat. Then a lamb curry same sauce flavour as the jalfrezi (which of course you would think would taste different) and no spice flavour again but the lamb was tender and finally we had 2 chicken saag baltis which tasted averagely nice but overall was really disapointed and will not be going again.

Such a nice restaurant, food is amazing, service is impeccable and a rose at the end is the icing on the cake. With so much competition around Jahed have just got it right. Well done 👍👌

As others have stated. Delivery time was unacceptable. I think more than an hour is too long even during busy periods. My wait was 1hr 40mins. Curry was average with far too much chopped onion.

Wonderful meal tonight; hospitality was excellent as well. I had my usual butter chicken. My wife had prawn Marsala and my boys had various lamb specialties. Lovely all!

Very quiet at 7:30 on a Wednesday evening when I arrived, so prompt service. Good menu range and great food - and great value: less than £20 for a main, side, poppadums and beer. Would definitely return.

Rarely you get a take away delivered which is to such a high standard, always comes hot and fresh. Normally get free poppadoms and garnishes. Highly recommend lamb jalfrezzi and starter dish of sagaluu

I really enjoyed my visit here! The food was very delicious! The staff were really helpful and professional. It's also great for vegans as they were happy to make make most dishes vegan for me. I especially liked that it still has the nice little touches of the more traditional Indian restaurants in Birmingham! I will be back soon!

First off, let me tell you the food was lovely, the attitude of some of the staff was not, menus flung on the table, no please, no thank you, in fact no pleasantries at all until the person serving our food came along, nearly an hour after we sat down. Asked for speaking water, was bought Apple Perrier, was told they had no plain water but when we asked the same question of the nice person - we were bought plain sparkling water, I always think if you cant be bothered, work somewhere else.Quite expensive for what is basically a bog standard curry house 6 x poppadoms (with onion and sauces already on the table?!) whats that all about and how long had it been there? a chicken korma, mushroom bhuna and king prawn sagwala, boiled rice, mushroom rice and plain naan - 2 drinks - 1 water and cobra - £60.00 Would I go again, no...service not up to scratch and expensive for what you get, there are bigger, smaller and much better curry houses out there. Very busy though and booking essential for a Saturday night - they were turning people away. Brisk takeawy trade also, feel this is a measure of how good their food was.

Just had the Chefs Selection. Wasn't too sure what to expect but wasn't disappointed. Definitely recommend. Generous portions and great selection.

I've been coming here for years now..eating in and ordering delivery's from jahed cuisine of India The food is amazing I can't knock it. Never once have i had a bad curry But everytime I seem to get it delivered I seem to have the same problem.. I always tip atleast a minimum 10%-15% of the bills total (usually way more)to the driver.. But a few times he has asked me for a bigger tip??! I find this terribly unprofessional and it has really put me off using the restaurant again even tho I throughly enjoy the food.. Really annoyed.. I can imagine that other people have had a bad experience with the driver also?I'm.a very generous person so it's a little annoying when peiple take that for granted..Never eating here again.. Hopefully the management will come up with a reply?

This restaurant came higly recommended from some friends. We needed to find another regular indian restaurant due our old haunt Induz changing hands.There was six of us in our party including my father in law who was having his 81st Birthday. We had prebooked and mentioned the birthday but when we were shown the table, it had not been decorated at all which was very disappointing. The drinks arrived and then the popadoms.Again more disappointment as myself and husband thought the popadoms were a bit stale. Maybe that was because we were used to crispier ones at our old place. Instead of moaning about them, we decided to see what the mains were like first but we did highlight he lack of birthday decoration. The waiter said leave it with me, (more of that later)The mains came and my husband and I could see why the restaurant had been given such a good recommendation, The food was top notch and in particular the Korai Lamb and Tamarin chicken.Once the meals were eaten and tidied away the manager came out with a big chocolate cake with candles and orchestrated the whole restaurant to sing happy birthday which was a nice touch. The manager took time to chat to the birthday boy and then prsented him with a china mug and saucer which was very appreciated by us all.Thanks to all the staff for a superb night.Definitely would come back again.

My wife and I went for dinner and drinks with friends, Friday evening, and we enjoyed our night out. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was good. Although the place itself is a bit basic it has a great atmosphere. We did find parking in the area a bit difficult but we would definitely return.

Never disappoints tried chicken korai this time was lovely but chicken Jull remains my fav dish. Alway deliver On time too

Staff are very rude. Me and my friend came to eat for her birthday. We ordered a taxi as soon as it came the staff took our drinks and told us to hurry up as it was raining and the taxi driver had a job to do and was providing a service for us and so was the restaurant. The food was nice but I will never go there again to be ushered out and treated discourteously.

What a banging curry, as ever! Lamb Dhansak spicy, succulent and moorish. We always find the side dishes really yummy, especially the Tarka Dhal. Masala has a kick and prefer the Lamb over the Chicken. Try the Chicken Jaipuri-really tasty.The staff are always lovely; laid back, happy, accommodating but not 'in your face'. We get Indian Cuisine from nowhere else and that is testament to consistently good quality, tasty food. Go check it out for yourselves!

Have been coming here for the last couple of years since our last regular haunt went downhill. Was recommended by a friend. And got to say cannot fault. Food excellent and service above and beyond. Abdul and Sayed and all the staff always make us feel welcome like old friends. Give this place a go u will not be disappointed

18 of my family went. Whilst we were eating our starters my mum still hadn’t got hers. We waited for round an hour, so my mum asked if they could leave the starter as long as they don’t charge her as she doesn’t want to eat on her own. He lied and said it was on its way. He then brought it out as a main course at the same time as all the other mains, so she had two. She complained as they lied and now she wouldn’t be able to eat all of it. So the waiter apologised and said we wouldn’t have to pay for the main but we may as well have it. When it came to the bill, not only had they added the main, but they overcharged us completely. The manager suggested my mum was lying, being disrespectful calling her stupid and then had the audacity to call himself professional. Also embarrassing his colleague who we had no problem with but only the way the manager spoke to us. We won’t be going back again!
