Myself and my partner stopped in for a late breakfast and a coffee on our way further up north on holiday in March 2013. We had passed several slightly touristy and slightly grotty cafes and were giving up hope of finding anywhere nice to stop when we spotted a sign for this place in an attractive looking golf course. It was cold so we took a cosy seat by the fire but was a lovely clear day and the view out over the loch and surrounding grounds was lovely. The inside is newly refurbished and has a nice fresh feel. The owner was a young girl who was lovely and welcoming and we enjoyed a lovely (and great value!) cafetiere coffee and yummy bacon and square sausage roll. Thank you and we hope to stop by again next time we're on our way up!

I visited this cafe on my travels and decided to stop for some lunch on my way to Fort William. The cafe is small and cosy. I fancied the sound of the quiche but was told it was not mafe yet (even though it was after 1pm) I decided on the soup but unfortunately it arrived and was cold but the coffee was lovely. More attention to detail regarding the food is needed. Cosy cafe, nice location.

We were staying at a nearby hotel and stumbled upon the Ivy Rooms while out exploring the local area (slightly worried we were invading the golf course's clubhouse but luckily not!). It was a sunny day so we took advantage of the outdoor seating with cracking views across the golf course out towards the water. We had the fishcake of the day and a burger with all the trimmings (egg, cheese etc.), both were delicious and the portions were generous - which was just as well as the food at the hotel left a lot to be desired! Staff were very welcoming and service was good. Would recommend and visit again if we were back in the area.

When driving from Oban to Inverness, a couple of weeks ago, I saw a sign saying cafe open so my husband and I thought we would stop in for some lunch. The Ivy Room is located in the middle of a lovely golf course and has beautiful scenery. The cafe itself is warm and welcoming and the staff member who was working was lovely. The young girl (a waitress I presume) happily chatted away to us and gave us directions to a hotel we were stayng at. She was very chatty and welcoming. We ordered 2 coffee's, my partner had the fishcakes and I had a panini. The food took a while to come out despite us being the only customers present. The food was ok, not great. For the prices on the menu I would have expected better. However the location, views and welcoming waitress were all positives.

Great wee snack stop, lovely place to stop on my trip from Glasgow to Inverness via Fort William. Good range of tasty food, scrummy home baking, super coffee all very good value served by friendly staff. Pity I don't live closer - it would definitely be one of my regular coffee destinations if I did, but I will certainly be stopping off here again on future trips this way.

I visited the dragon's tooth golf course recently, had a great round of golf and then popped in for a snack and a pint in the Ivy Room. I feel the prices were high for the quality of food provided. The two local girls who were waitressing and behind the bar were very pleasant however it sounded like it was quite chaotic in the kitchen. It was very busy at the time and although I was served quite quickly, there didn't appear to be any visible management present to control the front of house. Nice round of golf, decent service, food ok but too expensive.

After reading the first review on here, me and Allan wandered in earlier today. The Ivy Room is a place where the staff is great, food is decent and the cake is lovely. It'll be added to our list of 'places to go for a coffee'. Thanks :) Susy and Allan -imported locals of Ballachulish- PS. The only thing that this place needs is more cute decorations, it does still look like a club house :)

Called in here by chance. The building is in the middle of the golf course and I thought it was the clubhouse but apparently it's a separate business and they welcome visits by the public. We had bacon rolls and coffee - really tasty and good value. Staff were friendly and chatty.

Really enjoyed a visit here, with very good breakfast and efficient and very friendly service. With it being on a main road on the outside of Inverness and with easy free parking, it makes it all the better.

Visited 3 times in 5 days and probably spent more on coffee than we did on merchandise (and Tiso is an excellent shop by the way). Excellent coffee, lovely cake selection and a truly fantastic full English/Scottish breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. View to the Cairngorms outstanding and our doggy companions most welcome.

It's a pretty scummy dive bar. (In response to owner's comment - Dive bar isn't necessarily a bad thing, but good for folk to know what they're walking in to. Football, football fans and occasional fights. Other dive bars in Inverness have more atmosphere and soul IMO but it is what it is. It's the kind of place you go to get messy, but stay away of you're in any kind of alternative subculture and don't want to get harassed by Inverness's scummy drunks.)
