Loved this bar/restaurant for years and was looking forward to visiting it again with friends this time too. But they've stopped doing food which was disappointing as it was always lovely and a good start to the night. We still had lots of fun in the bar and music was fab. Would be 5 stars if they had been doing food 😁👍

Staff were really friendly, but the statement that food is served until 10pm is wrong - food has not been served in here since JUNE 2024! A consequence of staff shortages/covid/brexit…. Really disappointed as we’d called in at 8pm for dinner, filled with memories of ‘the good old days’ …. Atmosphere was flat, as the place was empty. Very sad.

Been coming here for ages. Absolutely amazing bar. The staff are awesome. Super friendly and always up for a good chat. The atmosphere is great. Love the weekly events, the open mic is absolutely awesome.

Everytime I’m up in Aviemore to hit the slopes, there’s nowhere better to end the night over a few bars. An Aviemore institution, a must visit when you’re ere!

We came here on New Year's Day and had the most fantastic evening. The bar has such a great vibe, matched by great staff. We got chatting with Andy who was really fun and friendly. Drinks were reasonably priced and the bar had darts and table games! We'll be back x

We came in here a few times over the weekend for my stag do and it was great every time! The staff are all brilliant and were a good laugh throughout our visits. Great selection of drinks and food too. Thanks for everything and we’ll be back again in the future!

Lovely bar with decent food! Portion size is massive! Dog friendly is a massive plus, too, with super friendly staff.

Years ago this was a thriving pub with a great variety of huge meals and a real buzzing place. Today the upstairs former restaurant and bar are not used. The basement bar is now the only bit open and the menu is limited to a few light bites. Such a shame...

Kiwi, seasonaire for a numerous years and worked here on camio shifts to help out.. Plus a frequent patrion with the local crew! It was locally owed and operated during my time there and still retains the same beautiful ski town decor.

Popped in for a drink in downstairs bar. Old wooden seating booths. Full of students. Main bar menu was shots. 2 pints of beer was around £10 - tourist prices

The guy that served me drinks would have chucked the ring into Mordor without hesitation.

Good food. Fair pricing. Excellent service. Friendly place. We had burgers, nachos and grilled chicken sandwich. Sweet toffee pudding was lovely. Local IPA too.

Came for a drink. Excellent choice of beers (around 8 keg taps and 1 cask beer). Open Mic night was excellent. Lots of local talent on show! Beers were excellent! Great atmosphere and very welcoming! Dog friendly too!

Aviemore was chaos with several places not taking any further dinner bookings. So, attracted by the 'veggie menu' on the front window we tried this place out. Fantastic veggie burger with large portions and great service. The place has a cool north American vibe to it. will definitely return! thanks

From the outside the pub didn't promise much. We received a very friendly welcome inside. After a short wait at the bar there was a beer tasting and then a short introduction to the gin. First of all, a very tasty Scottish soup. Afterwards the main course was also very good.

Great experience and food. Food was amazing and the theme was amazing. It was winter sports and the ice hockey. Was a great experience.

Fantastic pub to visit whilst in Aviemore. Staff were brilliant. The shot menu is unbelievable. We tried several and all were great. Definitely recommend

Another great meal at the skiing doo. The scotch broth soup was tasty and the burgers are brilliant. Been a staple of the Aviemore scene for more than 30 years and is still consistently excellent. Helpful staff and dog friendly too 👍

2nd time of going here in the last 5 years, food is fantastic as was previous visit 5 years ago there was a birthday party in and they were having a great time staff were friendly and welcoming great place for something to eat will defo go back next time passing through

Nice themed place, very tasty food.

Atmosphere, staff, regulars, ales, shots. Wednesday is jam night and a fine night it is. Bit of a tricky one to find if the upstairs is closed but don't let that put you off. It's a rare place and all the better for it.

Food was great the time I went. One person on shift that was very unimpressed looking..didnt crack a smile and made us feel pretty uncomfortable with the lack of 'friendliness'. Tried going last year in October and they were closed and same again this year. I think this is only a summer restaurant. Unfortunately won't be attempting to go again as let down twice, tried to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Chips(french fries) were too crunchy. Chicken tasted of char . Mushroom sauce didn't hit the spot. The Cajun chicken was better. Staff were nice and it's a fun place to visit. It was open late afternoon. Unlike a lot of other places in Aviemore.

Incredible American-style ski chalet vibes. Service was quick and friendly despite managing the floor as a solo waitress! Beyond meat vegetarian burger was bland and over cooked. Standard beef burger was average. Very impressive selection of shots (50+) and bar downstairs was full of life! Would definitely recommend the bar.

It was quiet when we went in but seemed like a nice enough bar. They weren't serving food on a Monday so we just had drinks. Dog friendly

The Skiing Doo represents a large milestone in my girlfriends life; first time eating Chicken Wings, which were amazing by the way. The staff went above and beyond to go the extra mile (shout out to our boy Hayden). As the Tenents and mad dog shots flowed I was encouraged by the good patrons of the Skiing Doo to jump up and play song for the open Mic Night, which we could not recommend more. Scottish hospitality and alcohol left a mark on hearts and souls, and we will be forever grateful to have passed through The Skiing Doo ❣️

Pulled directions up on the site. Handwritten note on the door saying kitchen is closed until they can hire help. We drove a half hour to get here. Say something on the site!!!!!!! Very disappointed and hungry.

Cracking food, great selection of alcohol, particularly the shots, and staffed by very helpful people.

We found this place completely by accident, however it was a real hidden gem, the decor was fantastic, they had a great selection of food and drinks. The chilli cheeseburger was great and the chips were amazing. The staff were super friendly and allowed us to look around the areas underground. We will certainly be coming here every time we visit.

We were told to expect a long wait when we arrived as the kitchen was short staffed. This was exactly what happened but having been notified in advance this wasn’t a problem at all. We just had a nice chat and drink to keep us going. The staff were very friendly and the music is superb. Worth going just for that! The food when it arrived was lush (for want of a better word) and tasty. Nice big portions and value for money was excellent. Three meals less than £50! Perfect. Will definitely be going for a second visit this week!

Table was really sticky ,& my prawncocktail was terrible, bought sauce, tiny wee prawns,mostly salad! My brushetta was awful, 2 bits burnt toast,with salad, didn't eat it as so bad! I won't be going back!!!!

Our sort of place. Casual dining. Staff were excellent and accommodating. Busy place with bar downstairs. Good portions of delicious tasting food. Opted for Steak pie and veggie burger. Only issue that could be improved was the sticky tables. Good range of reasonable priced beers on menu.

A friend recommended we come here for steaks as he had a great experience recently. We had a rump and a sirloin, both washed down with a wheat beer and a local beer. We were not disappointed. Food was excellent, seasonal veg was delicious. Steaks brilliant. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend. Menu caters for all but can only comment on the steaks we had. Will definitely be back. Thank you Skiing Doo.

Sehr leckeres Essen (Lob an den Koch) und schnelle Bedienung. Allen in allem eine gute Bleibe für einen schnellen Snack oder ein entspanntes Abendessen. Das Ambiente ist zwar viel aber hat meinen Geschmack getroffen. Die Musik war auch nice. Es ist zu erwähnen, dass nicht viel los war.

Struggled to get into the place with staffing issues. But when I did this place didn't dissapoint. Good good. Hot food. Friendly staff. What more could I ask for

As ever the Skiing Doo meets expectations. Does what it says on the tin. Birthday steak, red wine and Belgian waffles tonight. Great service. Great atmosphere. Please don’t ever change. You are as much apart of the history of the village as the hills themselves.

Would give 0 Stars if I could I have been going to this restaurant since 2000 and have always been able to get a table and the food has been fantastic. My son and nephew were especially looking forward to going this year year as they were going to have the T-bone steaks However when we tried to book a table for 4 they said they didn’t take bookings for less than 5 people and would just have to try a walk in. We then went to the restaurant at 5:10pm to see if we could get in, they said they were full and that we could try and we should try again at 7:30pm. We thought maybe we would go back a little earlier 7pm and wait for a table only to be told that they were now booked until after 8pm and then only if the chef could be persuaded to stay later we may be able to get in then if we came back at that time. Quite frankly I am disgusted at the service here, not taking bookings for 4 is unbelievable, We were a group of 4 (2 adults and 2 Very hungry teenage boys), and were like to spend over £150 as we were all having steaks Doubt I’ll ever return to this restaurant unless it changes hands.

The most bizarre experience in a restaurant - something out of Faulty Towers! Walked in off the street on a Sunday evening with my 2 boys. Pretty quiet with a good number of empty and unused tables probably 50% of the restaurants capacity. Asked for a table for 3 but was refused as a booking of 8 was coming in! So bizarre obviously wasn't interested in our business. The place looked good but the attitude of the staff was well below par what is expected these days - not the 1970s.

Great service and fantastic food. Make sure you bring a huge appetite as the portions are pretty large.

It was fine. Service was friendly and the food was alright. Better than other places but not outstanding. It does the job and not too over priced.

Absolutely awful wine was awful probably cost about £5 max nachos were good then main course sirloin awful had to chew and chew and then gave up, Cajun pasta full of oil awful they took 50% off the meal which I think was outrageous as we didn’t eat the meal shocking avoid if you want fed

Was in here on Tuesday night. Waitress was so rude no manners what so ever or a smile. Me and my son had the spaghetti bolognaise it was utterly disgusting we didn’t eat it. I wouldn’t of even gave it to my dog. Definitely not what it should taste like. Didn’t say anything as couldn’t be bothered with the waitress and the attitude. Shame as we come here every year definitely won’t be rushing back. My husband and other son said they enjoyed theres but please avoid the bolognaise like the plague yuck

Used to come here a lot when I was younger and loved it, for a while there the foods Quality wasn’t what it could have been. Re-visited today the first time since covid and was amazed. Back to 5 starts. Good to see a Aviemore classic back and thriving.

Haggis dish was a bit on the small side, chips weren't fresh, mince in the chilli not great either. Expensive too. Beer was good as was service but not good value. Sign of the times tho.

Better reserve a table for evenings. The food is very delicious and vegetarians will be happy.
