Breakfast - great poached eggs, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating on substitutions / making my meal keto friendly as long as didn’t buy a pre-set meal. My eggs were done perfectly, the bacon could have been a little more crispy as o asked for it crispy, but might just be how they make the bacon in the UK. Although I only had a small bite of the toast - it was well prepared and butter was smooth. All in all a great dining experience. Cozy atmosphere and warm feel. Excellent service.

Food was okay but Very poor service!! A bottle of water was brought to our table, opened and poured out when we specifically said we didn't want a bottle, we both had a meal from the two course special menu for £19.95 pp and a bottle of wine @£37, but when I produced a voucher for £60 off , given to me for a Christmas present, they increased the Bill to over £115... I asked them to review the bill and be charged correctly and after a member of staff ( I think it was the duty manager) barged into me without any apology, hurting my shoulder, I also asked for the service charge to be removed, the final bill was £16 ..A huge difference and a rather unpleasant visit... We both felt a bit ripped off and wouldn't consider returning...

I recently returned to The Ivy Grill in Covent Garden after a few years, having visited many times before with great satisfaction. Unfortunately, this visit did not quite meet the high standards I remembered. I made a reservation for a Wednesday evening, and upon arrival, the restaurant was packed. My party of five was made to wait inside, next to other diners, which felt uncomfortable and quite cramped. It seemed that there weren't as many staff at the front of house as I recalled from previous visits, which added to the sense of disorganization. When we were eventually shown to our table, it was incredibly cramped—so much so that I had to check my bag in the cloakroom since there was no space to sit comfortably with it. The interior space felt overcrowded, and we were dining so close to others that the noise from nearby conversations made the atmosphere less intimate. For a restaurant at this price point, I expected a more refined and sophisticated setting, similar to The Ivy in Marlow, which offers a much more relaxed dining experience. The food, as always, was good, but I encountered a problem with a request I had made many times before. I asked for a fried egg to be served with my steak, something that was never an issue in past visits. This time, however, I was told it would need to be ordered as a side. When it arrived, it was overcooked and not runny, which was disappointing. The service was still good, but it lacked the personal touch I had previously experienced. While the staff were efficient, there was less of that warm, attentive atmosphere I had come to associate with The Ivy. Overall, my experience fell short of expectations. It’s a shame, as I’ve always enjoyed dining at this location, especially considering its great setting. However, given the overcrowded atmosphere, less personalized service, and minor issues with the food, I’ll likely look at other Ivy locations in London for future visits. The charm and sophistication I once loved seem to be lacking now.

Poor experience from the Ivy. Visited for a birthday lunch as I heard many good things about the restaurant. But the staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming. We told them several times it was a birthday and if they could bring out a little dessert for the birthday boy (me) and they acknowledged it but never brought anything out. We arrived 8 minutes early for our booking and the lady was unwelcoming at the front desk. Over priced, over-hyped and unwelcoming. Only positive thing was the food but sadly could not make up for the poor customer service.

Friday evening meal, 4 adults. Food and drinks were lovely as you’d expect ( the calamari starter is a disappointingly small portion though!). Staff and service were faultless. Our waiter was Zidane, great guy, very professional but with a great sense of humour. Only one small criticism is that we were squeezed into a corner table on a round bench which was more appropriate for a couple or 3 people max. It was also extremely warm and got quite uncomfortable.

We found the Ivy Market Grill to be an excellent place to meet friends in Covent Garden for dinner. The food was delicious and the restaurant is nicely cozy, if crowded and loud, on a Friday night. We tried 4 appetizers: the smoked salmon, Stilton and walnut cheese soufle, the squid tempura, and chicken skewers. All tasty, though the squid was a bit greasy. Dinner was also good, including hamburgers, blackened cod, shepherd's pie, and a salad. My wife said the shepherd's pie was the best she'd ever eaten. Needless to say, we were too full to add desert, but from past meals here, I can recommend the bombes. Service was good and the front staff, in particular, were excellent on a chilly and wet night. We'll be back.

A Fantastic Spot in Covent Garden – Highly Recommended! The Ivy Market Grill is a wonderful place to meet clients or friends in a relaxed yet stylish setting. Located in the heart of Covent Garden, it offers a classic brasserie feel with elegant booths, oak panels, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. On my recent visit, I sat at the bar with a friend, and we had the best time. The food was excellent, the cocktails were beautifully crafted, and the ambiance was lively and energetic without being too loud—perfect for both conversation and enjoyment. We've visited a few times, mostly for dinner but tried the brunch recently too. The dinner is reliably very good, if a little pricy for what it is. Generally very good service, good portion sizes, and a varied menu with something for every taste. The drinks menu is excellent and we have fun trying something new every time. Definitely not worth the trip for breakfast/brunch - it's really quite bad. Slow and unenthusiastic service (30+ minute wait for drinks for our table. Other tables waited even longer and had their drinks brought to the wrong table - one table seemed to have waited almost an hour for 2 teas!) and the food wasn't good - undercooked bacon, soggy pancakes, sour yogurt. A surprising contrast to their dinner service. They do also seem to have an issue with aggressive, drunken regulars - we had one drunk man who seemed to know the owner or manager pushing and shouting at us while we waited for our table. Manager and waiters either didn't notice or didn't care. It didn't leave us with a good final impression.

We had a lovely lunch here. 5 of us dined before going to the theatre for a matinee. We had mains and deserts and all our dishes were really nice. We had a side of the courgette fries and they were lovely too. The service was good and the atmosphere was buzzing. It was very busy so things took a little longer than we expected on the drinks side but we were not in a hurry so it just meant we had to ask a second time. It was a shame as we probably would have had another bottle of wine had the staff been a bit more attentive. Everyone was very happy with their meals and we would definitely go again.

If the Ivy Market Grill was the first in the chain I had visited I would never return, food was decidedly average and service was at best indifferent. We have visited quite a few Ivy’s in the past and always enjoyed the experience. However this was the worst! Our hot chocolate was lukewarm and the scrambled egg was a barely warm congealed mess! Obviously had been left sitting a long time! We spoke to a waiter, he did nothing, we then spoke to a lady in a black suit and all she did was apologise. No offer of replacing our food! First time trying this particular Ivy and was really disappointed in the service, which was minimal and the standard of the food. it is a real bottleneck entering the restaurant and giving your costs, making it uncomfortable for those stood waiting as well as the diners in that vicinity. Tables are crammed on top of each other, making an unpleasant experience. Normally love the zucchini fritters, but these were incredibly greasy as was the batter on the fish and chips. Lobster pasta lacked the finesse to justify the £38 price tag!

I booked a table for 2 for brunch on 22 Dec. Our table was ready on time, and the service was prompt and courteous, and the brunch tasty and plentiful. The only real issue was that my seat at the table was in the main thoroughfare for staff between the outdoor conservatory area and the kitchen, which meant that the door next to me was constantly being opened for staff (and some customers) to come in and out. It was cold outside so this quickly became uncomfortable as well as very distracting from the brunch with my companion.

I was interested to try this out fairly soon after a visit to its more famous parent restaurant. Walking in through the door the first impression is it does a good job of recreating the art deco style of the original Ivy (without the spacious banquettes). There is an overlap in the menu offerings, with many of the same excellent comfort food dishes (some with a festive twist because of the time of year we visited). Some of the more elaborate dishes and fancier wines from the original you won't find here. The biggest difference from the original Ivy was the service, not to say the service was bad here but the whole restaurant was busier and more rushed, tables closer together and the ratio of staff to customers meant the service could not be as attentive as the original. Still, a good option for a pre-theatre dinner and everyone familiar with traditional British cooking should be able to find something they would like to eat on the menu, and the pricing was fair too.

Festive atmosphere, extremely good food, catered to allergies and all with exceptional service from Sana, who was so attentive to my Mum's gluten allergy and had a radiant smile on her face every time she came to the table. Can't recommend enough.

Lovely place. Very nice lunch and service. We had reservations which were needed. The pumpkin soup was fabulous and duck pie was very good. The dessert menu looked fabulous too. Would highly recommend.

With the sudden closing of their Belgravia branch this new St Johns Wood outpost is a must go to for fans of the 40 year old establishment. We popped in for a late breakfast and were immediately struck by how friendly and efficient the staff were. All our egg dishes were perfect as was the stylish and classy interior.Hopefully we'll be back soon for lunch or dinner.

Went to this bar for NYE.. It was a shame they dint serve food or any snacks at all on NYE. Ofcourse everyone got there nice and early to avoid the crowd only to find out the kitchen was closed for the night. The staff was good and helpful. The bar sure offers an amazing view for the fireworks for NYE . Its a good pit stop..

Decent cafe with full English and also Italian dishes, not many around in the city of London. We had a full English and a spaghetti amatriciana, which was tasty, good level of spicy and great value. There's seating upstairs with a TV screen.
