The fish was refried, which I should have refused. Solid on the inside hard on the outside. The onion rings were overdone and hard.

Avoid at all costs. Massively over Priced . Up there with the lowest quality food I have ever had the misfortune of coming across

Made fresh but with, Frozen chips….yuck. Chips crispy on the outside and a bit of mush on the inside. No idea what batter they are using, but the fish was Thin and not flakes, not that good

Good chips a freshly butted bap and a battered sausage... what more could a hungry person want... a nice chippy and staff always willing to oblige.

Looks a wee bit seedy from outside ... but ... food and prices are dxcellent and thd staff are warm and friendly... Will be back!

It’s always nice to have fish & chips when by the sea. Ordered a fish supper for lunch. Freshly cooked and not too bad. Slightly greasy looking but it didn’t taste greasy or leave a greasy residue on the roof of my mouth. Server could’ve been a bit more cheery.

Best chicken supper EVER. Delicious chicken,chips done to perfection and huge portions. Well worth the money.

The second time this year have been let down orded 3 fish and chip and kids chicken nuggets and chips got one fish and chip one chips no fish one fish no chips place wasn't busy so don't no how they managed to mess up so went back to get the missing items came of to chips still missing from order be the last time. And the kids nuggets and chips was a batters chicken beast cut into bits never again

Havent been for fish supper to ivy for a very long time used to be best in town well to say I was very disappointed is an understatement chips very oily fish was more battery than fish king rib was just oily price expensive not enough attention to Wats going on Defo oil needs changing Disappointed

Always a must when we are visiting but curry sauce was watery and in edible this time which was such a shame. Haggis, pizza and chips with onion rings (home made) were as expected and hugely appetising. Portions as ever large but a bit of attention to detail service wise and curry sauce making will warrant a 5 next time we are there....😊

We called in here for a quick carry out of Fish & Chips on our way to the boat at Cairnryan. Fish "suppers" are £6.00 or a small one of £4.00. As we hadn't eaten all day due to Rail delays we ordered 2 of the £6.00 variety but we had to stop the owner putting on more chips as each portion was huge. With hindsight one "supper" or two of the smaller ones would have been enough. The meal was cooked to order and was delicious.

When the order was finally delivered it was inedible and went straight in the bin The fish came straight from the fryer and placed on the chips. The fish and chips was so greasy the paper was saturated. The staff were stressed but that's no excuse for poor customer service We have been here before and it was delicious I think they must have had a change of staff or ownership . We went be returning

Everything was as expected - very tasty and thoroughly enjoyed by all, not too pricey either and good portions

to prepare just two portions of fish and chips was a hell of a job. When the meal was ready the fish was more fluid then it ever was when it was still in the sea. Only a part of the meal reasoned stomach problems.

We enjoyed two separate takeaway visits. Enjoyed our Fish and Chips Supper maybe just a little bit on the greasy side. Absolutely loved the Jumbo Sausage and Chips cooked to perfection ! Recommend this takeaway to others visiting the town.

Has been here for a good 60 + years everything is made fresh to order so be prepared to wait or pre order fish can be a little oily because does not get draining time but portions are indeed large lovely haddock , I went here on a Tuesday night from Portpatrick with the view of getting this its very popular locally as the other rather good one there was closing which also does sitting in .not the standard of the past generations there but obviously the time of its presence says a lot would recommend and I am quite fussy about food. ENJOY

Late night - needing food but not wanting to go to the bother of finding a pub - so went to the ivy leaf. Had pooch in tow so, naturally, needed something for her too - staff were very attentive even took sausage out soon so that it would be cool enough to eat. Small fish was on the large side (not a complaint just a comment!) and it was very tasty. Look forward to this being the hone for our regular fish supper!

Tuve una hora libre mientras trabajaba, necesitaba comer y beber. Así que pasó por la hoja de hiedra.Lo que fue un error.Dos muchachos trabajando detrás del mostrador, apenas un solo gruñido por medio de comunicación. Pedí una cena de pescado. Pescado cocinado, las patatas fritas eran en las estaciones más cálidas.Bien, lo cual fue un error. Los peces greasiest que he tenido. El bateador pasada fue literalmente deslizando de los peces. Para ser sincero, estaba bien caliente. Quizás para compensar la floja, frío, patatas fritas grasientas que venía con el pescado. Deposité el 90% de la comida a la basura y con hambre.Nunca más. No me alimentar a mi perro.

Stopped off in the town and found the two lads working hard working to supply the best fish supper for the area, cooked to order they sell haggis if you want it

Could have been 5 stars if fish batter had been bubblier and crispier. Fish white and tasty. Other equally good menu choices chicken etc. all reasonably priced. Staff friendly.

This has to be the best fish and chip shop in the area, the fish are enormous and the chips are well cooked and the servers are people friendly.

Worst chip shop ever avoid at all costs, poor quality greasy food. Staff are uninterested and customer service non exsistsnt

Tradicionalmente todos los alimentos de un "fish and chips" se espera tener una cierta cantidad de grasa, pero no tanto como usted probablemente podría exprimir de la pasada salchichas maltratada y llenar una botella vacía de agua. Cada otoño boca fue seguido por un aceite...

We always have visit to this chippy when we are in the area. Chips are very tasty especially with their salt and vinegar there!Onion ring are home made and have been for many years and are really tasty and juicy. Only thing is they seem to be more and more greasy unfortunately in recent times so if anything can be done to improve that it will feel a five out of five next time.Deep fried pizza is usually fab, although this visit it wasn't cooked for very long at all. Macaroni is usually good but not sure why traditional Scottish macaroni pasta isn't used anymore though?Haggis in batter is a hubs favourite and didn't disappoint. Fish is always great too. Portion sizes are generous and make good value for money although we often don't manage to finish everything....If having take away chippy we wouldn't normally go anywhere else when we are here.....

Nice chips, good service, well priced.Love the chips and cheese, big potions and open at lunch time til late.Family run.

I like chips so I thought I should probably go get some, and that's what I did. I then stumbled into this place and had a darn good meal but then I realised I don't like chips so I got ride of them. Threw them in a women's face.

Can't resist the smell of freshly cooked chips had to wait for fresh chips but would rather that service was good will return

Please avoid this place at all costs, unless you like eating greasy food that is free of taste and anything good

Pure and simply one of the nicest haggis suppers I have ever tasted, will definitely go back, good value too.

Lovely food. Great chips that are always cooked to perfection. Haggis is to die for same for their fish. Curry sauce needs improved as better chip shops out there but the have the best food and chips

We have been going to the Ivy Leaf on and off for over 20 years now. Call in now when in the area visiting family. The Steak burger, haggis, black pudding, curry sauce and chips to name a few have never changed and still taste so good. Excellent for a take-away treat.

Often order chips, curry sauce and onion rings to eat by the harbour. The onion rings are the best we have ever had!

Went in and staff very ignorant was in for 4 suppers one a half chicken supper said didn't have any so I suggested he put two breasts in which he done and then tried to charge nearly £10 for this normally half chicken supper is £6 so told him in not so many words to put it where the sun don't shine
