When we left, on a Saturday evening, the eating area was empty. Not surprising - the cod and chips was mediocre. The eating area reminded us of an aircraft hangar. The most depressing place we have ever eaten in. Decent food might have made a difference but it was awful. First time we’ve eaten at Harry Ramsden’s - and last.

Poor, unfriendly, service. The breakfasts at Wetherspoon's are 4x the quality at half the price. Any 'cook' that that can't "Griddle" an egg just isn't a cook.

Called in mid afternoon, all the other food stalls in the services had very long queues. Ordered regular fish and chips, the fish was cooked well and the batter was good, however the chips were awful and they were the ones you could eat, over 3-4 of the chips were made from potatoes that had already spoiled green/black I will not be back. Avoid if you can

Very very nice food, 3 large cod and chips cooked to order. Very fresh and probably one of the nicest bits of cod I’ve actually had. Staff very attentive and very polite. So while I was waiting for my food to cook previous customers that had just finished there food were giving good feed back to the staff for such nice food. Will definitely be coming back to this particular Harry Ramsden’s

Should have been more aware of the ramifications of being able to purchase a breakfast roll with 4 breakfast items on it for under £5 in a service station. But I thought, it being Ramsdens, that this was some form of loss leader. Unfortunately the answer was that they can do this because the produce must be the cheapest they can get and the bacon for instance would have given beef jerky a run for its money chewability wise. In fact it was virtually inedible. What most annoys me though is that this must be blindingly obvious to the owners. As we stood up to leave our inedible breakfast there were three other tables where the patrons had scarpered leaving half eaten breakfasts behind. Avoid this place like the plague and I'll think twice before I visit a Ramsdens at all. Staff were cheerful, and that's about all you can say for this appalling place.

without a doubt the worst breakfast I have ever had. Deep fried mushroom, deep fried, very low grade sausage and under cooked bacon. The whole lot dripping with oil. Avoid this place like the plague. Harry Ramsdon's you should be ashamed.

Came here for a meal and a drink in Gretna Green. The food was very nice and nice staff although a bit slow but we didn't mind that. Nice clean pub and some parking although not a huge car park we were lucky enough to get a space. Would come here again

We stopped here on our way to Aberdeen and could not fault our breakfasts, it was nicely presented and hot. The only downside we had to pay 20p extra each for brown and red sauce, which was extortionate as we paid £21.00 for two breakfasts including drinks....

We stopped here on our way home, after a flight from Manchester. We had eaten on the plane in,but was feeling like something decant. There was 3 of us,two fancied the fish and chips, the other person sausage and chips. We ordered 2 medium fish ,but the server suggested the large size,as we would get our drinks free. It was all freshly cooked, pipping hot and worth the money. The place is clean ,staff pleasant .

Visited Harry ' s @ Gretna. Ordered scampi & fishcake. Both advertised to come with tartar sauce & lemon. This did not happen. Requested both and staff came back with tartar sauce only. Requested lemon and staff informed me she would come back with lemon which didn't happen. Waited for 15 mins for food. Drinks were served after food. We had to wait at counter for drinks whilst food cooled. Fishcake was really bland. Service was poor. We initially remarked how empty the restuarant was. Our experience certainly answered our initial question. We shall not return here again.

Meal ordering efficient and as it clearly had to be cooked to order it took a time to come but worth the wait. Area short-staffed as several tables left and the cleared trays section was full to overflowing. Main disaster was the unannounced closure at 6.30 pm of the principal gift shop on a prime Saturday evening! The purpose of a service area is just that and this is poor in the extreme!

Stayed at DaysInn hotel and popped over to the service station for evening meal. Rather than use the burger/chicken outlet decided to try EatInn as they at least had hot pies, mashed spuds etc. Didnt see any fish ready cooked and on enquiry the helpful server/chef offered to cook to order for me and deliver to a table. Consequently when it arrived it was freshly cooked and piping hot, well cooked, good portion and fairly priced. No problems, hit the spot. Would certainly use again.

Went to the Welcome Break Gretna Service, think place was called Eat In. Had good service staff friendly but has to be said had the worst sausages on a roll ever, tasted disgusting put them in the bin outside they were that bad.

12 inch cheap base, 10 inch of toppings. Cheap, flavourless ingredients, premium prices. I'd be embarrassed to serve this if it was my business the cuisine equivalent of the willy wonka experience.
