JJ's Fish and Chip Shop in Dumfries & Galloway

Great chippy, had a fish supper which was lovely, husband had the steak pie, chips and gravy which was also very nice. Prices are reasonable for a chippy. Lovely Dinner

First of all paid £9.80 for a 99p Aldi frozen pizza they shouldn't be allowed to sell pizzas. The chippy food was decent but chip portions for the price are rubbish

Food was poor. Curry sauce and mushy peas are microwave reheats. Don't know if it's a Glasgow thing but a fish or sausage supper you get two bits of fish or sausage not one. Hardly any chips in a stupid wee box not much bigger than a cigarette box. Really poor place for the money. Wouldn't recommend.

Does what it says on the tin, chips were nice as was the sausage etc however the pizza wasn't very good. Like a cheap aldi pizza. Would recommend if you're in the area and after a takeaway

Good chipshop , loads of choice . Everyone in the family enjoyed their meal from battered sausage to cheese and leek pie

Pizza tasted awful. Cheap rubbish - a Tesco value frozen pizza would honestly taste nicer. Could have went down the beach and used it as a frisbee it was that solid

Good quality food for a decent price. We visited here when we were at the southerness parkdean resort, just a 5 minute walk from the site. We had an order for a family of 5, only came to about £35. Fish was nice as were the chips and curry sauce.

The staff were friendly. The fish was delicious however the large chips looked more like a small portion and I thought it was a little over priced ( 3x fish&chips and 3x tar tar sachets was just under £32. They are not open everyday and they do close at 7.30pm but definitely worth a visit.

Oven baked pizza was from frozen ....10 pounds....and tastes worse than plastic and for the Donner wrap we get the salad in a plastic bag. I was wery disappointed.

Fish and batter is outstanding and few other stuff i have tried are great. Chips need worked on. Price is reasonable considering it's on a caravan area.

Bought 2 fish suppers and 2 large fish suppers and we were really impressed. The regular chip size was a very good portion size, and the large chip portion was huge. The fish and batter were delicious. Definitely recommend the food, and a friendly and quick service too. Well done JJ’s!!

I’ll start this review by talking about the positives of this place. I got a deep-fried pizza, and it was as good as a deep-fried pizza could be, really. The chips weren’t too bad, albeit the portions were a bit stingy. My main qualms with this place lie within the sausage, which is a rather generous naming considering it’s resemblance to a pale, chubby finger. It was practically raw, even my father (who has been known to happily devour poor-quality meat) had a hard time eating it. My sister found the sausage’s skin within the sausage, if that is enough for you to curate an image of this abomination of a sausage. If you really feel inclined to visit here, then perhaps stick with the vegetarian options. However, I would strongly recommend that you avoid this place.

We bought three fish suppers the first night we arrived and they were excellent. During the week we stopped off at lunchtime after walking on the beach for ice creams, two 99s and a plain ice again these were excellent and on our last evening we tried out the oven baked pizzas two of these and another fish and chips, all very good. The service was very quick and the cafe was clean. The staff were very helpful and polite.

We were at parkdean holiday park with a party of 8 and decided to stay in and go to JJs chip shop but have to say not very impressed pizzas were shop bought bases and they then applied the toppings you wanted. I’m afraid for half the price could have done this at Asda and base would have been nicer and shop was mean on the toppings. Also we wanted special fish but advised they only do battered fish what chip shop don’t do a special fish. Took the battered fish but felt it was quite greasy and so was the chips. Out of 8 people only 3 enjoyed their meals not good.

Absolutely shocking, kebab was clearly microwaved , steak pie at least was OK, just don't know how you can charge £5.60 for 4 slices of doner meat if you can call it that, best to give up selling kebabs altogether if that's the best you...

Perhaps we're spoilt by our local chippies but the large chips was the size of a cone back home. Everything was tasty but we were still hungry afterwards.

Had a lovely meal, the fish and chips were lovely and nice ice cream to follow just what we wanted and reasonably priced too

Chips and pizza were good but the sausage wasn’t great at all, greasy and partially burned. Kids meal was expensive for what it was but was very busy. Staff were pleasant.
