The Ivy Cobham Garden in Elmbridge

Went with my girlfriends for a lovely catch-up brunch on Sunday afternoon. Amazing cocktails range and nibbles. We had the arancinni and zucchini to start with, followed by delicious sheperds pie for main. My dessert wast fabulous also, the lavander cake. Highly recommend the Cobham brunch. Service was lovely also, our waitress Ellie was very friendly and helpful.

Every course looked great and tasted even better. Very good service from staff and kitchen. Great inside and outside decor. Couldn’t fault it tbh, and can’t remember feeling compelled to write a review as good as this for a very long time.

This was my first experience of an Ivy restaurant and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were SO professional and attentive which feels rare these days. The food and drinks were served very quickly and my vegan burger was big and delicious. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Distinctly average. The front of house staff require significant training in hospitality and customer service. Perhaps starting with learning to smile would be a strong foundation. No ability to adapt to client requirements. We asked for a croissant at 12:15 pm and they said breakfast had ended and they could get us one from the kitchen. How does that work! Tables left dirty with ketchup it between courses we had to ask them clean it twice. Not good.

Just had a lovely meal at the restaurant. We had the mezzanine room for an 80th birthday. Food was excellent but it was the service that really stood out. Our waitress Olivia was fab. She looked after us so well. Staff made sure everything was ready before we went up to the room, they put our balloons and place names out for us. Room was gorgeous - fresh flowers and lovely decor. Perfect evening. Thank you so much to all the staff who looked after us tonight.

We were slightly disappointed with the evening. When making a booking we made note that it is a birthday celebration and we would like a birthday plate. When we came in the lady at the desk acknowledged that it was a birthday party and said that our table is not ready which is absolutely fine as we were offered a drinks table before our table was ready. When we ordered the waiter didn’t seem to know the menu and we had to point out every dish and on top of that, he came back to double check the order. The starters took about 40 minutes to arrive (3 salads), were cleared straight after and then again we waited at least 45 minutes for the mains. Mistakes happen but the fact that no one came to let us know that the food will take longer time to arrive, it’s just not good enough. We were told after that it would take couple of minutes, when actually it took another 15 minutes. When clearing the table we asked for the bill I know that we did not have dessert but nothing was done about our birthday request. Appreciate the discount at the end but it would be better if the manager would actually came out and spoke to us.

The Ivy probably receives fair few poor or neutral reviews because the prices are fairly steep for a restaurant outside of London. Obviously, if we are paying £65 or over for a modest meal, expectations are high. As a consequence my review is “average” but the dining experience was definitely a positive one. Firstly, the positives. It’s a great venue and the staff were all lovely and totally professional. My starter was excellent (ham hock croquette) but my Malaysian curry was just okay. I like my vegetables al dente but the broccoli that came with it was definitely undercooked and really hard to cut. My Malbec, gluten free beer and coffee were great and the company of old friends was wonderful. I shall come back though because we had a very good time and it really did feel like a special lunch.

Not having been to the Ivy in Cobham for some time, we were all looking forward to our visit to celebrate my birthday. Whilst generally enjoyable, it was lacklustre and disappointing in some respects. It was obvious that we had arrived after a busy lunch service and staff were on wind down before the dinner service. However, whilst there were some exceptions, from front desk through to waitresses, the staff were surly and inadequately trained on basics. The food was generally very nice but it was immensely disappointing that the shepherd pie was only luke warm. Also, the absence of any overseeing ,manager was very evident and again disappointing. It smacked of complacency that the restaurant did not have to try and be better. We will not be rushing back.

The food is average, expensive for what it is. It’s kind of like a glorified Bill’s although tbh I think Bill’s is better. Most of the mains don’t include a side, except a few. Nice decor inside and staff friendly enough.

The convenience of parking, just a ten-minute amble away in a council-run haven, was an unexpected bonus to the day's ease. Yet, it was the 'Ice Cream Bombe' that cast a spell of intrigue over my culinary journey. Before me sat a spectacle: an orb of ice cream, swathed in a rich chocolate embrace, awaiting its fate beside a rivulet of warm, beckoning caramel sauce. Individually, they promised a duo of distinct delights. However, in a twist of culinary fate, as they were united upon serving, a peculiar alchemy occurred. What was intended as a bold symphony of hot meets cold instead gently faded into a melding whisper, neither fully caramel nor ice cream, but an enigmatic blend of both. This curious culinary decision, though a venture into the unknown, left me pondering the delicate balance of flavours. Despite this, my dining escapade was an embrace of joy and tranquillity, a testament to the art of creating memorable moments from the simple act of dining.

We had a great time. The food was divine and the service provided by our waiter - Tony - was so attentive. The restaurant itself is lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Would recommend.

we went for my birthday meal as its local To us. The restaurant itself is great, decor etc. we had Patrick waiting on us and honestly what a lovely young man. So polite and friendly and really went over and above to make sure we had everything. He even brought me a birthday dessert with a candle🎉 Chocolate bomb is always a must here. The steak was unfortunately not great. Definitely over cooked and dry. The gin and tonic was uninspiring (Ice and a slice of lemon) I’d say tables are very close and we were sat near a large group who kept passing past our chairs. All in all we had a nice evening.

Great dining experience. Goes without saying that the food is good, but the staff are also attentive and accessible. Nice not to be asked ‘who is having the …. ?’ every time a plate of food is delivered! The restaurant’s car park is pitifully small. To avoid disappointment and annoyance I recommend parking in the Holly Hedge Car Park and take the 5-min walk to the Ivy using Hollyhedge Road to cut through to the high street.

Nice location, parking interesting ,service good albeit eager to move you on ! Food generally good but it’s a bit pricey for what you get - a bottle of hogs back beer at £7.50 is OTT !

We were glad to get off the M25 due to heavy traffic and head here as a detour. There is limited parking and it is difficult to park in Cobham but the staff kindly helped us as one of our guests has a blue badge. The food was good - and the service friendly.

Visited the Ivy in Cobham on Xmas Eve (which is a tradition we have been doing for the last 3 years). Felt disappointed with the visit this year, the service wasn't great, the staff felt unbothered and not interested, lack of Christmas decorations, didn't feel christmassy, cloak room was closed and had to wait along time for our drinks and food order to be taken. May consider an alternative for our Xmas eve brunch this year (2024).

Decent breakfast - full English was good and cooked how I asked for it. Service was good and is quite a nice looking branch of The Ivy.

An absolutely beautiful interior and a relaxed atmosphere. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The food was delicious - smoked haddock fishcake followed by a festive polar bombe. It hurt that I just couldn't finish it as the portions are very generous. Parking was surprisingly easy. My first time there and can't wait to go again.

I have been really looking forward to taking my daughter here as a Xmas treat but was disappointed! We had the festive breakfast to share and then I had extra avocado on toast with eggs. My daughters was fine, but my eggs were barely cooked and the bread was hard to eat. I did tell the waiter but he didn’t say much and just took my plate away. Felt that it could have been more Christmassy, given it’s a festive breakfast and also no options for children which is a shame. I didn’t feel we got the best service either and our cracker had nothing in it. Just felt it was a little underwhelming and I didn’t enjoy my food. My daughter’s food was fine and I recommend the festive breakfast the bircher was lovely as was the smoothie! All in all an ok experience but wouldn’t return sadly.

Came for my daughter's 11th birthday. Food was lovely, kids burgers were huge and they brought us a little dessert with a candle which was a nice touch. Sam our server was very attentive and looked after us perfectly.

The food was OK but the overall experience was not. Staff seemed unbothered and inattentive. My partner has food allergies but the menu had no indication, and staff merely said "you have to scan that [tiny] QR code". Service was slow. Five different people waited on us at different times. It was expensive and second rate. We will not return or recommend.

Virgin Mary was tasteless and poached eggs were served cold. Tables were so close together, it made getting in and out to the bathroom rather tricky. Coffee was pleasant.

Had a li’l birthday bash here, in the Mezzanine “private” area. It was super special. Dedicated service was attentive and prompt and food - we made typically classic choices - was excellent. Fantastic decor in this restaurant, beautifully presented dishes, served by highly trained efficient staff. The food was very good, especially the chocolate bombe dessert delicious.
