First time at the terrace and it did not disappoint. My partner and I both ordered steak and it was cooked perfectly👌🏼 The squid we shared for starter had the lightest batter, it was very tasty. We also shared an orange and chocolate tort for desert which was moorish. We will definitely be back!

Really nice food and really good service , no draught beer tho so works out nearly a tenner a pint, other than that all good

We booked here as a recommendation. When we walked in we were seated to our wobbly table, I did mention this to the waitress but no interest was shown. We ordered our food and I noticed that this is only a 2 star food hygiene rating which having experience in the sector was a massive concern. I didn’t want to get up and leave as my son is Autistic and it would have upset him. We ordered 2 small starters in which the waitress bought to the table in her hand not on a tray which I feel is unprofessional considering she is having to walk from the kitchen to our tables. With her hand over the food while holding this. We also ordered drinks again no tray!! We all ordered pizza which was ok but my partners was quite burnt around. The edges and underneath. The manager was lovely and the staff but I do feel attention to details is needed. And maybe the cleaning of table as ours wasn’t when seated , Candles lit on most tablets but not on ours or a coupe of others, t light was gone, a new one could have been replace as we did dine early and only 2 other tablets in the restaurant as others were dining on the terrace. I do hope changes are made to gain that higher rating, a 2 star is a concern.

We last ate in this restaurant 4 years ago when we were here on holiday. We moved to Hayle 3 years ago and this is the first time since moving we have had a meal here. It is our wedding anniversary today so we wanted a special meal. We were not dis appointed. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. My wife had Carbonara and I had steak and blue cheese pizza. The food was hot and very tasty. The waitress that served us was friendly and attentive and a credit to the restaurant. Thank you for making our anniversary special.

Having booked a table 8 days in advance, we were not expected, but fortunately, a table was found for our group. The seafood chowder was delicious but would have benefited by the addition of some prawns and mussels. The rest of our group ordered pizzas, and they were very disappointing. The crust was lovely and thin, but the bottom was very overcooked. The toppings were sparse, to say the least. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

Amazing food and great service in beautiful surroundings. Can’t fault it. We ate here whilst on holiday and loved it. Would definitely be back next time we are in Cornwall.

Absolutely amazing service from all the staff, very friendly, The menu has a good variety of food, and everything tasted delicious. My photo doesn’t do it justice, but the mushroom and leek risotto was so good. The only fault I can say, is that the risotto isn’t on the permanent menu, it’s on the weekly menu. It was that good I definitely think it should be a dish that stays :)

Such a lovely dinner at The Terrace! We picked here based off of the good reviews, whilst staying in Cornwall. A warm welcome from the staff, and the perfect menu for us. As a vegetarian I often find menus all the same for me! But the menu here was varied, seasonal and lots of things appealed to me. I had pizza and my boyfriend had steak. Generous portions and delicious! Really good wine too. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!

You know when you're eating food and just don't want it to finish because it's so good. This is how both my wife and I felt after each course. Couldn't possibly rate this restaurant any higher 10 out of 10 and that included the service.

We had a really great meal here. Staff are attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Every dish was delicious and mains are reasonably priced. They have a kitchen menu where mains are £15, their normal menu and a specials board if you want some local fish or something a bit a fancier. The carbonara was scrumptious and so filling! We’ll be coming back again.

Business party of five mid week. We mainly went for the specials of pork belly starter and lamb main. Faultless cooking, great flavours and resonably priced. Worth a visit for sure.

Absolutely amazing service! 22 of us for a staff party, the staff were super friendly and helpful. Hannah was amazing, dealing with all the pre orders, communication was spot on. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the food was super lovely. Thank you again from all the staff at Brewers.

First and last time at the terrace, food was terribly overpriced for tiny portions and average food, website has not been updated and menu is quite different, not many pasta options and had ran out of a few things

I booked this restaurant as part of my husband's 60th birthday celebrations, and it did not disappoint. From the initial booking, I had text messages from Hannah regarding our booking and menu choices for our party. Nothing was a problem even when 2 of my family members cancelled on the day. When we arrived, there were balloons and a birthday banner above our table. The service was exceptional from a young team, and the food quality and presentation blew us away. Quite a few of our party had worked in the hospitality industry, including myself, and we all felt that the staff were a credit to the industry. I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant and hopefully will go again

Had the fish special, delicious 😋 the desserts were amazing. Great to go somewhere with freshly cooked tasty food. Great menu, not the same same like everywhere else. Have been coming to Hayle for many years and never visited until now.We will definitely visit next time we are down. The staff were young,friendly and couldn't do enough for us. My partner had fish from the specials board and said it was amazing.I had a burger which was good.Our daughter had chicken nuggets. Our daughter had ice cream which our server made special for her and I had creme brulee which was amazing. Yes it was slightly more expensive but it would be cheaper than St Ives.And it was worth it, good quality food in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

Really enjoyed our meal here this evening. From the outside, you could easily miss this place. The inside is simple and understated, but charming with it. Our garlic bread with mozzarella was very fresh and tasty. Both pasta dishes were delicious and of a good portion size. Prices reasonable. Staff were friendly and attentive - service charge not slapped on like many places in St Ives, but paid anyway as we had such a nice time. Thank you :) (ps. Book to avoid disappointment).

Let me put this review into perspective. We ate out every night last week whilst staying in Hayle and we can all honestly say this was the meal we enjoyed most. The food was great but the service was exceptional. We were fortunate enough to be served by Elouise who has great customer service skills and always had a big smile on her face. I should also thank her sister Josie? They could not do enough for us, a truly enjoyable dining experience. Great food, great service and a lovely atmosphere THANK YOU.

We went as a group - there was only one other table there and that was only 4 people, we struggled to hear each other. Visited on a Tuesday night in November and it was very quiet; although it was raining very heavily! I had a capresse salad to start and the duck breast off the specials board for mains and it was all delicious; the dauphinoise potatoes that came with the duck were divine. Service was very good and the staff very friendly. Prices very reasonable. This was our second visit in 2 years and I would definitely recommend it!

We couldn't decide on a starter so chose 3 to share. Had the duck which was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. Dessert of banoffee waffle topped off a perfect evening in a wonderful restaurant I challenge anyone not to love.

Lovely meal here and drinks in the last night of our holiday. Wish we had found it sooner! Perfect starters, tried the soft shell crab and it was lovely. Lots of lovely choices on the specials menu and I had the freshly caught lemon sole and it was delicious. Staff very friendly and reasonably priced for a 3 course meal.

Overall, a reasonably good experience. Only downside was that they cooked the wrong pizza for me, meaning there was a delay whilst they cooked a fresh one and, by the time it arrived, the others had largely eaten theirs. Guests should be eating together, not alone. This aside, though, food was nice and service was good. Wine is expensive vis-a-vis quality.

We booked a table 48 hours ahead of our visit but when we arrived there was some confusion with the name booked and it transpired our booking had not been made when we called! Despite 2 or 3 staff members greeting us there was no apology for the error and we were told to 'Sit here'...The menu was interesting and different from traditional Italian fayre but I stuck with a Napolitana pizza which was nicely loaded and just the right crust for me. Very tasty. The service was average and disappointing but I put this down to the staff being young and not well trained. An enjoyable and reasonably priced Italian meal but not somewhere we would go back to on our next visit to Hayle.

After reading a few dodgy reviews we weren’t sure but gave it a go.Food was brilliant - had the meatball calzone and the Stilton/mushroom pasta with cauli cheese Arancini to start. Quick friendly service - the staff were all very attentive and smiley, lots of effort was made. Ate inside but finished our drinks on the benches by the waterfront which was beautiful. All in all, definitely recommend!

We booked a few days ahead of our meal tonight and were looking forward to a traditional Italian.We chose to sit outside, they have a large covered area, but not all the heaters work and I think the service may suffer from not being inside.The food was actually quite good, we had the soft shell crab and a prawn dish, followed by a pizza and a carbonara. We did also have garlic bread which was very dry and overcooked. We did want the starter from the specials board, but the waitress eventually informed us that it was not available, as was the case with our wine choice.What really let them down was the service. Not that they were rude but, as is increasingly the case, it was almost exclusively staffed by very young girls who clearly aren’t well trained. So, no offer of Parmesan with your pasta, no pepper and we waited 20 mins before we could get someone’s attention to ask for the bill.This is an ok choice for a reasonable Italian meal, but, with a little care, it could be a lot better.

Rang up on a Tuesday night on a whim after not managing to get in to eat anywhere else but turned out to be a stroke of luck! The food and drinks were really yummy…just what we needed! Found an Aperol spritz at last(!) Our waitress Josie was so attentive throughout the whole night, keeping us updated on the status of our food, making sure our glasses were never empty etc - the devil is in the detail!!

Fantastic food and service. Our steaks were amazing, full of flavour and very tender. Pasta was also lovely. Service was quick and attentive to all of our needs. But I would recommend an online booking system as there was a mistake with our booking which was corrected to our satisfaction

Overall good experience but definitely some bad factors.The starters were lovely and fresh, but the mains took a while to arrive (it was very busy so not an issue) but when they did we were let down by the carbonara. It wasn’t your traditional style, but very creamy and cheesy, more like a béchamel rather than your normal dish which doesn’t have cream in. The two dishes off the specials looked and tasted amazing however.The biggest issue for me is when we ordered a small glass of wine only to be informed they didn’t sell small so couldn’t do this, only medium or large. Though it wasn’t worth arguing at the time, this is illegal and all establishments must provide small measures of wine. Seems a bit of a worrying practice to not allow small glasses even when requested.All in all the staff were lovely, most of the food was great except for one dish, and we had a good night.

Had poorly planned dinner date with husband on Saturday night, found the Terrace and the staff gratefully fit us in for dinner. Good prompt service, friendly staff, food was excellent. At times the staff could have been a smidge more friendly, a bit abrupt at times but that's just splitting hairs. We were sat in the conservatory and at times was used as a bit of a chat zone for staff so they dropped their porfesionnalism a little. We didn't mind but some would. Overall happy and would go again.

Really great food in a clean and modern restaurant with amazing views from the terrace. Despite being really busy, the service was excellent and all the food was all so tasty. I had a fillet steak which was unbelievable and so reasonably priced too. The children finished all their food which was a miracle..We will definitely return.

We called a lot to try to get a reservation and eventually after a few days they answered. The staff were friendly but service was slow it was very busy though the food was not the standard we expected I had prawns with ciabatta bread which was actually like croutons and very hard then we had risotto and there was so much chillie it over powered the taste of everything else . The menu wasn’t particularly extensive but that could be because of Covid situation my advice is don’t go out of your way to book here

Hmmmmmm what do I say about this little place other than a must when in Cornwall the food wasn't what I expected it was amazingly delicious even my wife was in aaaaaaaw of the food. Traveling from Birmingham to this place was worth the journey. We had only issue the outside section had alot of webs and the floor could do with a bit of sweeping but other than that excellent food and customer service.

This is a nice little restaurant. We booked an indoor table for 2 adults and 2 kids. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the service is great. The food was very nice.Only criticism would be the size of the pizza on the kids menu but that is a small gripe as it was very nice.I would book again if ever in the area.

We had a lovely meal here, and my gluten free pizza was delicious. The non-gluten-free dishes that my family had looked delicious too. The waiting staff were friendly and polite.

We are a family of 7 and arrived 3 days after the restrictions were lifted in July. Even though we are one bubble and sat outside we had to have separate tables and 2 separate bills as we went over 6 people! This was very inconvenient and in away took away the emphasis of a family meal. The staff were apologetic and said it’s company policy. Maybe that needs reassessing. Putting all this aside; the staff were friendly and helpful; the food was amazing; home made & freshly made to order with high quality ingredients. This was the most expensive meal of our holiday but worth it.I would definitely return. If we could of sat and paid together the. It would of been 5*.

We had sirloin steak and burger, chocolate fudge cake + 2 white wine spritzer with soda last night at the Terrace.Service was very slow, we were waiting for 20 minutes for drinks and another 40 for meals.Top of that to charge £12 for 2 spritzer that is 2x250ml wine price a bit disappointing as we've ordered 2×175ml top up with soda...... Food was delicious but I do not think we will back again.

The problems began on entry to the restaurant. First a "conservatory" table for two was confirmed verbally at the time of booking, but had been reallocated before we arrived (punctually). Signs on the door stated "cash only" as the credit/debit card machine was "broken". (It later began working, which suggests an attempt to defraud HMRC of tax on trading profit and vat). My wife chose the fish dish of the day (Hake) which was advertised with crushed new potatoes, but served with mash. This was explained as the kitchen not having updated the specials board. To add insult to injury, crushed new potatoes were then offered as a spare side dish, but rejected. The damage was already done. We had only the main course and left.

Visited last night with our son & his fiancée. We had requested outdoor seating due to the heat but we were given an inside table but we didn’t complain. The staff were all very friendly helpful & attentive. We ordered the arrancinni meat balls & garlic bread to share as starters. We had a little wait but you do when things are made freshly to order & we all thoroughly enjoyed. For mains we ordered 3 different pizzas with a few added extras & a catch of the day. All meals were enjoyed & the pizzas were delicious !!!. The staff very kindly ordered us a taxi as we were staying at the motorhome club campsite just outside Hayle. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Well done to all the staff at The Terrace!!!. We will definitely return when we are next in the area. Thankyou!!

We managed to get a late booking and was very pleased with the service and our meal. The service by the waitresses was very friendly and polite and our meals were delicious. I would thoroughly recommend and if we holiday in Hayle again we’ll definitely book to go back.

Family of 5 we choose this restaurant as it provided gluten free options due to allergies, plus individual was vegaterian, also we mentioned this when the table was booked. On arrival ordered drinks, then food to be told no gluten free pizzas bases left or gluten free pasta, so 8.30 on a Friday night trying to find an alternative in a busy period impossible. Food took over an hour to arrival, drinks over priced, food average, very disappointed

Main road frontage but lovely rear courtyard, warm and almost weatherproof! Pizza and pasta all lovely and fresh. Staff all really friendly and helpful. Menu isn't vast but the food is good and reasonably priced. A great choice for a simple family evening out.
