Band were amazing but very very rude staff. Drink grabbed out of hand at end of night. Definitely used to be much friendlier. Hope things improve soon!

Whilst I've never had any issues previously, Saturday night was shocking. We weren't in long when at about 11:15pm my friend went to the gents. He found vomit all over the sinks; disgusting. When he told a member of staff, she didn't seem to care and then had the audacity to ask security to remove us from the premises as he 'raised his voice'. This would generally happen when with no hearing in one ear, and 50% hearing in the other and extremely loud music playing. Vile way to be treated when you have clear hygiene issues with your establishment. I reached out to them directly via their e-mail address, they didn't respond.

popped in for a couple if drinks before dinner (didn't have food here) - service great and nice atmosphere, a grown-up pub!

Didn't eat, just popped in for a couple of drinks on New Year's day - the best pint of Tennant's in Glasgow, by a country mile. Nice atmosphere as well and the staff where great.

Me and my 2 sisters went to this pub booked a table 3 found out no food.? Bar guy said be OK to get some food bring it in so later i went across the rd got a pizza they gave me a small can of lager, we didnt drink it as we drank vodka tonic etc so left it on the table while we sat buying drinks all night, forever waiting on a band to start at 9 pm who then promptly took a break at 10pm really whats the point ? I left the pub 10.30 leaving my sisters to continue their night only to be told today, a bar staff member came to the table asked them to leave as they have been smuggling drink he saw the can of lager.!! My god we all professionals in our 60s. All he has to do was speak to the bar staff who served us all day before accusing us of under the table drinking. We spent over £120 In this pub with the atmosphere of a frog, and we left sober !! if we going to smuggle in drinks it would be vodka not one can of beer. Ya uneducated nutter of a bar staff member, you know who you are. Instead of checking you felt it necessary to embarrass my sisters. We will never return so no fear on that score.. I'm only mad we don't drink lager we might have got to the dizzy heights of a buzz before we left as we definitely got no buzz from the many vodkas we drank with mixers??. I would have thought bar staff could tell sober people from drunk by now thereafter logic would kick in seeing us sober after 7 hours drinking in this boring den if a pub...

Brilliant night in the Islay Inn so good we are going back for Hogmanay, there was a group playing called KIN and they were amazing.

Went on a Tuesday night and was rightly entertained by a meeting of The Glasgow Fiddlers (I think!) - half the pub was filled with fiddlers, guitarists, banjo, various guitar-like instruments and an accordionist. Great accompaniment to a couple of pints of Guinness - was brilliant...

Got a wee bit bevvied met American tourists Pleasant evening And has regular traditional music session once or twice a week

Just had a couple of pints of Stella but they were top class girl behind bar was so cheery would have liked to stayed but had other plans unfortunately will be back soon 👏🍺

Terrific. One of several great pubs in this area. Very quiet when we popped in but I've had some fantastic fun times here.

Grew up in Glasgow but now live in California. Whenever I come home i like to experience the real Glasgow and The Islay does the joib. Highly recommended!

Never let my son in with valid I’d and and wasn’t selling food although advertised , lovely place but so disappointed

Reserved tables for family and friends from Australia on Saturday night, we were seated in an area by staff then after about 2 hours we were told that we didn't have a booking and told to move by a very rude, aggressive barman and after we told him there must be a mistake on the bars bookings he wasnt prepared to try to sort it out and said im telling you to move. The group of people he was trying to move into our seats he obviously knew as he was kissing one of the girls so i think he was trying to be the big boy and tried to bully us with no success. He was unprofessional and had no people skills will definitely not be returning to this bar.

It has a good selection of whiskeys, but not too many beers. A good selection of gins. No food was served when I visited, so not sure if they serve food regularly. Seating is limited as well and outdoor seating is on the pavement. Staff is friendly.

We went along to listen to a group of very talented musicians playing. They were fantastic.

It's a lovely Bar in the West end..family connections too as Atlantic Reel play there, although I've yet to see a band I havn't liked! Always a friendly atmosphere, great Craic, music..and the food is'nt half bad either!😊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🎵🇮🇪🍺😎🎵

Brilliant friendly atmosphere with friendly local bar service. I always enjoy myself at this bar. Live music was excellent and had my partner up dancing.

De hele middag en avond hier door gebracht met vrienden. Diverse soorten whiskey te verkrijgen en het eten is smaakvol en lekker.

Don't judge a pub by it's exterior. Great unpretentious mixed age atmosphere and live music events.

always meet someone interesting in the isla , bands play at the weekend and sometimes a pack of fiddlers invade through the week, lovely place food was great 👍

Idk where people have eaten or what they were expecting but the food was better than average and everything was pretty well done. I had the special which was a Shepard's pie. The toffee desert was wonderful. My daughter didn't care for much but she's beyond picky. The waitress was wonderful.

Tuesday night came accross this fantastic fiddle group just jamin away in the corner. I think they were called GFW and were not listed on the events board. However well worth a drop in to hear ♥

Group of 6 including 2 relatives from Canada last Thursday night. Musicians excellent ... a real treat.

Live music but food takes loooooog time. More than 40 minutes while this pub is only half full. However, I want to highlight that their deserts “fried mars bar” is super good. Plus live music on Sunday afternoon

On visiting this place on the 17th of June with my son for a Father’s Day treat we had a few drinks and found a table , we then popped outside to vape when I came back in there were 2 girls at our table and our drinks were gone ! I approached a member of staff who basically said tough luck ! I then spoke to the manager who said I was abusive to his staff ! My son then joined me’ he never opened his mouth ‘ the next thing 2 bouncers grabbed us and propelled us towards the door assaulting us in the process ! I explained that I have bone cancer and was told tough luck ! Shame on all you who work there ! I have reported this matter to the police !

We had booked a table for 5.30pm on 17th June for dinner only to arrive and be told the kitchen was closed. After keeping us standing about for at least 10 minutes we were told there was nothing they could. Very disappointed. Surely when they took the booking they knew when the kitchen closed. Luckily we found somewhere else for dinner or our whole night out would have been spoiled.

Order food and drink at the bar. I'm always happy when I can get a Strongbow and some Laphroaig. I went with the Haggis Nattie and Tattie along with the chili nachos. If you're from out of town food is done serving around 8, but you can still get drinks. Staff was very busy but extremely attentive to everyone's needs. The live band was great and added a wonderful charm to the bar with a mixture of some local and modern songs (ranging from Moody Blues to Staind). The portion sizes were good and I shared the nachos with my friends. I was full so I couldn't do dessert, but they did come around the tables to see if anyone wanted anything before they closed up the food for the night.

This was a great stay, nice and clean

We popped in to this well known local pub for a few refreshments. Bar staff were attentive and friendly with a good range of barrel and bottled beers on offer. I opted for the Madri and my friend the usual Tennent's. For round two we both had a Madri. Nice surroundings and it was lovely to sit outside too, Good craic from the barman too!

I used to love the Islay Inn, we would go quite regularly. I recommend it for a catch up with family last week but it didn't live up to previous standards. It is usually very fast with food service but this time we waited 3 hours in total for a main and dessert. The food was ok. The chicken was quite tough. The staff were friendly and helpful though.

A relaxing haven with gracious hospitality in a comfortable environment. Our hostess/bartender Rachel was just the best. With less than 1 week in Glasgow, we had to go back and enjoy it a second time today.

Very nice interior relaxing afternoon food steak pie excellent.

When in watch football match and a beer the staff were very Friendly

Staff could not care less. Totally disinterested in the customers. Took my friends drink off the bar and poured it away when it was half full and told us it "was our responsibility to look after our drinks". It was obviously taken by staff, not people round us. To be fair, the bar was spotless. I think most people would prefer to finish their drink though! Good for sport and a pint. Bloody Mary's too if you ask the right person! Edit: Thanks management for the response. Much appreciated.

Great selection of whiskies but the place was soulless and lacking that warm welcome you get from most decent boozers in glasgow. £4.15 for a pint of Tennents.

Drinks were good. Sticky toffee pudding was good but not the best I’ve had in the UK.

Excellent local pub, friendly staff, great atmosphere, great selection of drinks. I'd love to come here one evening for a music session.

Great pub, has live music in the evenings and is usually busy. The drinks are fairly priced for West end. Haven't eaten so can't comment on the food but atmosphere and drinks are always spot on

Cool classic pub with all the fixtures. No food currently due to staff shortage unfortunately, but still a fine stop for a drink or two.

Lively bar and particularly busy at the weekend when there’s live music on. We saw the wee drams recently and they were excellent. Cover band doing the odd The cranberries, The Undertones etc

Good local pub, though I don't remember there being a wide selection of cask ales.

I’d need to give this place another try as I feel I caught it on a bad moment but on a Saturday night it was absolutely jam packed. The band was on full blast and the crowd were really REALLY drunk. Atmosphere was a bit chaotic so it’s hard to judge it’s character fully. Just wasn’t very inviting on this occasion.

Went for food at midday, which was basic (price reflects that) I think if you're having a drink it would be good as they seemed to be lots of reserved tables, but for a lunch, there *might* be better places around. Staff were very friendly though!

Visited the Islay Inn on Saturday 21st Jan all the staff was very friendly and the pub was spotless Amelie and the staff was absolutely brilliant will definitely visit again when in Glasgow the staff could not have been any friendly if they tried thank you all so much for the hospitality and a friendly welcome. Phenomenal seafood, great whisky selection, and stunningly friendly service. They treated us like longtime locals, even though it was our first day on Islay!

Came here by chance and very welcoming staff, crowd plus hearty pub food. The Sunday Roast was only 10 GBP and was better than others we’ve had for double the price.

Could do with a bit of a clean. Visited about 14:30 on a Saturday. Maybe staff hadn't had a chance from the night before.

Excellent people, food and pints. LOVED this place and will absolutely be back. It's just a few steps from Kelvingrove and I'm so happy we stumbled into it. The bar staff were so awesome.

Scrumptious food and even better music. Service was excellent. The Haggis was top notch. A must if you visit Glasgow.
