A great wee pub with outstanding food. Good banter with the staff. Enjoyable afternoon.

Loved my breaded haddock sandwich so much I came back a second time during my weekend trip to try the haggis (and I was not disappointed).

We wanted to eat some local food and we found this awesome place. The first time the place was packed but the host was great and very nice and found a way to welcome the 3 of us anyway. The food was delicious and so we had to go back a second time! Also excellent bar selection. Definitely recommended!

Popped in here for some.drinks before our Christmas night out. If we hadn't booked another venue we would have stayed. Managed to get back though for last orders! Excellent staff, excellent prices, food looked amazing (will be going back to try it) great wee atmosphere and the owner is really down to earth, took the time to have a chat and joke. Even the doormen were lovely they made sure folk were in their taxis. Deffo going back so.wish it was my local!

Had lunch here yesterday after being in town could not decide where to go headed back to west end remembered somebody told me about the food here not been in for a long time so glad we never went anywhere else had the haggis Bon bons between the 2 of us 3 of them more like size of meatballs they were lovely worth the £8 just to see the presentation 😂best steak pie we have had in years and we’ve had a few fish and chips was delicious everything was piping hot.you young girl was so friendly and efficient and a good selection of music was playing definitely will be back I’ve already been recommending to my friends and customers definitely worth a visit

I just had the haggis for my lunch and all I can say is I order he same at gleneagles hotel at the weekend and sent it back, but here I devoured it. Food awesome! Service exceptional and atmosphere amazing. If you don’t come here you have made a BIG MISTAKE

Came for the pub quiz and I'm actually blinded by the horrible unatmospheric lighting there. Left shortly after. Couldn't even finish the quiz it was so uncomfy

Eilidh best bartender in Galagow. She was fantastic to talk with. Food is fantastic, Manager Frank is super social and informative on his liquors!!!!!

Excellent little trad bar, nice atmosphere, especially on Mondays when some locals are in practising away. Live music at the weekends too.

Loved the vibe in this place. Late afternoon when we called in, but you could sense a good night coming for those who could stay.

Since the take over I would highly recommend. Food was out of this world, big portions. The service was spot on. And to the added extra twist was the funny cheeky banter. Look forward to coming again especially for the Sunday Roast.

My mother and myself came back to see the entertainment last night. We were regulars at the weekend before the refurb. The keelies were playing and we have seen them before and enjoy their music. Unfortunately from the minute we walked in the music was far too loud . Speakers were blasting . My mother is deaf and had to turn her hearing aids down as she found it painful! The gentleman who served us our drinks couldn't hear us we couldn't hear him.....so that's blantly obvious that the music was too loud. My mother had mentioned about the noise level to a female barmaid but she just walked away and never mentioned it to anyone. Didn't recognise any of the old lovely staff that used to be behind the bar. We left after our drinks. The bar was far quieter than what it would usually be for weekend entertainment. You are paying too much attention to getting the food right for customers than the entertainment value in the evening , which many people come to the bar for. This is the second time we have been since you've reopened and the 1st time back was too quiet due to forgetting to book a band ( the door staff said). Very disappointed with each visit back. Will be the Park bar from now on if back in the area.

Clean pub, top service, fast and with a smile and a great atmosphere Friday and Saturday evening with concerts for us on both evenings. I recommend 200% Attendance of all ages.

Just popped in for drinks with friends. Cosy atmosphere comfy interior

We popped in here for a drink on our way to another eatery with our elderly mother. All tables were either occupied or reserved but the manager (frank) found us some seats which we could use while my mother had a wee breather. We ordered drinks which came quickly and were well presented and also reasonably priced. Frank then insisted on giving my mother a lift in his own car to our next destination as he could see she was struggling a bit. Absolutely above and beyond any required service level and an amazing gesture from a genuine person. Next time we will def be staying longer and will be ordering from the food menu as all the plates that passed us looked amazing. Thank you frank!!! A true gentleman and asset to any employer.

Very popular place. Although busy the manager made everyone was well attended too the entire time. The steak Alba merlot with mashed was particularly amazing!!

Went to the islay inn for the first time since it's been under new management. Had a great brunch - excellent morning rolls and pancakes. Very good service and family friendly. Will be back.

Absolutely fantastic experience, went for Sunday roast with my family and dog, the host made us feel so welcome and at ease and made us fantastic mocktails, the meal itself was outstanding and great portion sizes too, 10/10

Excellent Scottish pub. Great location, close to the art galleries in finneston. The pub has had a full makeover and is spotless with a newly opened kitchen. The food is great and service impeccable. A great pint of Guinness available and the breakfast rolls are 10/10. Will be back often ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love it on here ni matter how many times the owners has changed it’s been a welcoming and lovely place. I will however as much as it pains me to say this place lacks in accessibility it has no accessibility although it is ground floor entry they have no disabled toilets. I am mobility and visually impaired and feel that for how much I like this bar it shoudl ahve more accessibility.

Worst pint of Tennants I've had in a years!

We got saddled with a coked up helmet who sat at the table next to us and wouldn't leave us alone. Necked our pints and ran. Shame, because it's a normally a cracking pub. No idea how the staff didn't notice the absolute state of Sniffy Clyro next to us.

Whilst I've never had any issues previously, Saturday night was shocking. We weren't in long when at about 11:15pm my friend went to the gents. He found vomit all over the sinks; disgusting. When he told a member of staff, she didn't seem to care and then had the audacity to ask security to remove us from the premises as he 'raised his voice'. This would generally happen when with no hearing in one ear, and 50% hearing in the other and extremely loud music playing. Vile way to be treated when you have clear hygiene issues with your establishment. I reached out to them directly via their e-mail address, they didn't respond.

Didn't eat, just popped in for a couple of drinks on New Year's day - the best pint of Tennant's in Glasgow, by a country mile. Nice atmosphere as well and the staff where great.

Me and my 2 sisters went to this pub booked a table 3 found out no food.? Bar guy said be OK to get some food bring it in so later i went across the rd got a pizza they gave me a small can of lager, we didnt drink it as we drank vodka tonic etc so left it on the table while we sat buying drinks all night, forever waiting on a band to start at 9 pm who then promptly took a break at 10pm really whats the point ? I left the pub 10.30 leaving my sisters to continue their night only to be told today, a bar staff member came to the table asked them to leave as they have been smuggling drink he saw the can of lager.!! My god we all professionals in our 60s. All he has to do was speak to the bar staff who served us all day before accusing us of under the table drinking. We spent over £120 In this pub with the atmosphere of a frog, and we left sober !! if we going to smuggle in drinks it would be vodka not one can of beer. Ya uneducated nutter of a bar staff member, you know who you are. Instead of checking you felt it necessary to embarrass my sisters. We will never return so no fear on that score.. I'm only mad we don't drink lager we might have got to the dizzy heights of a buzz before we left as we definitely got no buzz from the many vodkas we drank with mixers??. I would have thought bar staff could tell sober people from drunk by now thereafter logic would kick in seeing us sober after 7 hours drinking in this boring den if a pub...

Brilliant night in the Islay Inn so good we are going back for Hogmanay, there was a group playing called KIN and they were amazing.

Went on a Tuesday night and was rightly entertained by a meeting of The Glasgow Fiddlers (I think!) - half the pub was filled with fiddlers, guitarists, banjo, various guitar-like instruments and an accordionist. Great accompaniment to a couple of pints of Guinness - was brilliant...

Got a wee bit bevvied met American tourists Pleasant evening And has regular traditional music session once or twice a week

Terrific. One of several great pubs in this area. Very quiet when we popped in but I've had some fantastic fun times here.

Grew up in Glasgow but now live in California. Whenever I come home i like to experience the real Glasgow and The Islay does the joib. Highly recommended!

Never let my son in with valid I’d and and wasn’t selling food although advertised , lovely place but so disappointed

Reserved tables for family and friends from Australia on Saturday night, we were seated in an area by staff then after about 2 hours we were told that we didn't have a booking and told to move by a very rude, aggressive barman and after we told him there must be a mistake on the bars bookings he wasnt prepared to try to sort it out and said im telling you to move. The group of people he was trying to move into our seats he obviously knew as he was kissing one of the girls so i think he was trying to be the big boy and tried to bully us with no success. He was unprofessional and had no people skills will definitely not be returning to this bar.

It has a good selection of whiskeys, but not too many beers. A good selection of gins. No food was served when I visited, so not sure if they serve food regularly. Seating is limited as well and outdoor seating is on the pavement. Staff is friendly.

We went along to listen to a group of very talented musicians playing. They were fantastic.
