Came for lunch after a beautiful walk around Leith Hill. I had the roast lamb, my friend had a rack of ribs, both dishes were really tasty, presented well, piping hot and we were both really impressed.Staff were welcoming and friendly, it’s a great local Pub, that deserves more visitors, will definitely be back.

We have past this pub many times and decided to stop for lunch. The front door led us into a darken room with one other customer sitting with her dog beside her. We ordered 2 sandwiches which took over half an hour to arrive. The contents of my grated cheese sandwich fell out as I picked it up (why dont pubs just slice cheese in a sandwich instead?) on rather dry white bread. With a handful of chips and several salad leaves I was a little disappointed.

I booked a table for lunch today for my parents & me as we had visited the Anna Peschar Sculpture Garden nearby. We were seated in the conservatory and enjoyed a delicious lunch. My Mum especially enjoyed the (proper) ham, eggs and chips. Recommended, especially as it is very easy to park there with a huge car park a very short walk away from the pub.

We had a long journey home from Gatwick and wanted somewhere nearby where we could stay overnight and then continue, refreshed in the morning. We could have stayed in one of the nearby Airport hotels but wanted something with a bit more character. The Inn on the Green is about half an hour from the Airport in a superbly traditional Surrey village, the pub is full of character, vast with bar billiards, pool, restaurant etc. There was a fairly large menu but we only had a small evening meal of thickly sliced ham, duck eggs and chunky chips (served in the pub) and 3 pints of excellent real ale. The room we had was on the top floor so we could not hear any noise from the bar, had a comfortable King size bed and contained all that we needed. A nice full English breakfast set us up for the journey home the following morning. We'll definitely consider staying again.

Three of us called in to The Inn on the Green for lunch, following a long countryside walk in the area. We had not booked, nor been here before. We received a warm welcome and efficient service. The 'on tap' beer was served in excellent condition. The food we enjoyed from their varied and appealing menu was nicely presented and very tasty. We sat outside in the pleasant garden, and the staff came out a couple of times to check that everything was to our satisfaction - which it was. The pub might not look much from the road, but once inside it's charming, with a real sense of history. My friends and I have now found reason to return to the area for more walks, with suitable reward afterwards!

First visit for a meal to this historic coaching inn and I don't have a bad word to say. There was a warm friendly welcome from staff. There was an excellent selection of modern craft beers both cask and keg including Cloudwater, Verdant and Deya. It's one of the few pubs to offer vegetarian Wellington, either mushroom and cashew or beetroot and squash. Our meals were excellent and good value for money. The pub has not been spoiled my needless modernisation or 'gastroisation' if that's a word. It was nice and warm. Furthermore they have a pool table and a bar billiards table, both in good condition. The pub is quite large with a restaurant area also. Rooms are available although I didn't stay. Roast for two, 4½ pints of craft beer and four games of billiards was £60 including tip. Highly recommended and we will return.

Fantastic pub - personally have been for drinks and dinner/lunch but would also make for a great meeting or event venue. Huge garden (including kids play area) and very accessible with plenty of seating. The burgers are fantastic, and the owners/staff are so incredibly friendly and accommodating, it feels like a home away from home. Would 100% recommend - if you're planning on 'stopping by for one drink', be prepared to stay for another as well as a meal, as you simply won't want to leave.

We thought we’d try this pub tonight having not been there before and it is relatively local to us. First impressions on entering were that it looked dated and some what soulless but thought we’d give it a go anyway. We accept that it was a Monday evening so hardly expect a country pub to be heaving with people but a good pub doesn’t necessarily need to be busy to have a nice atmosphere and appear welcoming when you walk through the door. The menu was not particularly exciting or interesting so we opted for the hunters chicken. Our food arrived in a reasonable time and it was pleasant enough, couldn’t actually fault it but was nothing special or memorable as pub food goes. The desert menu was not exciting or innovative either so we just had mains and a beer. I guess if I had to sum it up in a word, that word would be “average” ! Average menu, average food, average pub. Wouldn’t say I’d never eat there again if we were passing but certainly won’t be rushing back there either. It’s a shame as this place could be really something quite special, it needs some inspiration breathing in to it - a refurb, a facelift, an updated menu perhaps..... Certainly not the worst pub we’ve been to over the years but far from the best either.

I am not one to complain but the whole place has not seen a floor mop in days, the dark cobwebs hanging from the radiators would have been swept away even by the cursary aid of a hoover. So sorry it was a poor lunch, quantity does not cover quality but the fish and chips looked fab.

Pretty average accommodation. Stayed in the a single room at the hotel, which was very dated and needs upgrading. Stayed during the recent heatwave, and the room was exceedingly hot, in order to get air to flow through the room the wooden blinds need to be raised, and window opens out onto a relatively busy road - although second storey - still....In regards to the price, have stayed in nicer pub accommodation, and was pretty average. Went to this pub for Sunday lunch with friends having previously been before for lunch between Xmas and New Year for the past couple of years. Hardly any tables occupied even allowing for the fact that it was a sunny day and there were people sitting outside in the garden, despite this we waited a long time for 2 starters and our main courses (mainly roast beefs). Had to ask for more beef as there were only 2 smallish slices. Mustard was brought in the jar with no spoon. Having said that the roasts were tasty including nice roast potatoes and good Yorkshire pud. The lamb rump meal was very small considering it was c£16.50. Ordered puddings and coffees/tea at the same time but the coffees and tea were brought quite a while before the puds. Cheesecake and apple crumble good but the scoop of chocolate ice-cream was brought half melted in what looked like an ash-tray! Friendly and pleasant service overall but this pub needs to up its game if it wants to keep clients returning. It is charging restaurant prices but not delivering restaurant standars in food or service.

I visited with 2 friends and our 4 young children a couple of weeks ago for lunch. We were sitting in the conservatory (we were the only table) and the Manager complained that we were too noisy. There was only 2 other tables in the whole place so no wonder we could be heard! After eating we went out to the garden and children's play area as we didn't feel we could stay inside only to discover that it was full of dog mess. At that point we gathered our children, soiled shoes and went home. I phoned to speak to the Manageress when I got home as we were upset by the way we'd been treated in a supposedly family friendly restaurant and also mentioned that the dog mess in the play area was unacceptable. The response I got was that it was the first sunny day of the year so they hadn't had time to tidy it up. Dogs should not be allowed to mess in a children's play area full stop - it is dangerous and unacceptable. The food was nice although the children's portions too big. I will not be going back.

I visited here with a couple of friends and our four young children. Despite the place being virtually empty (we were the only people in the restaurant area) we were told that the children were making too much noise and disturbing the people in the bar. Yes the children were being children, but for a place that sells itself as a family place they were very unwelcoming. The children's portions were too large and of poor quality. The sausages my son had were very poor quality and the chips were over cooked. After we ate we went outside to the publicised play area. It was full of dog poo. We told the owner, who was smoking in the garden, and his answer was that he hadn't cleared it yet as it was winter. Yes the weather had been bad, but the day we visited the sun was shining and we wanted to go outside. To summaries this is somewhere that thinks it is family friendly but in reality it is not. If you have young kids I would stay away.

I stayed in The Inn on the Green as they do accommodation, too - I'm reviewing the food here rather than the accommodation (which was OK for £45, but very small rooms).I had a starter portion of linguine with clams and chilli, and some garlic bread. I thought they'd made a mistake since the portion was pretty big - but it was indeed a starter portion, and not a main one - which made it very good value as well as very good quality. For dessert I had orange sponge with a dark chocolate sauces - which was nice, but a little stodgy. The other dishes looked tempting too - I had been planning to try the Asian duck the next day, but sadly the pub was hired out for an event and I couldn't eat there the next day - but the menu looked very tempting, and it certainly represented good value.

For a small country Inn the food was exceptionally good. A good menu selection, all served by warm & friendly staff.

The pub/restaurant is well kept, clean and tidy. The staff are very good however these days when value for money is ever more important I found the prices very high for what in essence is pub grub.

An option especially if you want a delivery. Menu includes Coffee, Smoothies, Fresh Juices, Milkshakes, Sandwiches, Salads, French fries chicken burgers etc. You can order on line. Nothing special but OK

I wouldn’t stay again. Hopefully the pub is alright but the rooms just don’t do it for me. Cobwebs on the walls, dirty hand prints around the light switch, crumbs on the floor. Pillows were maybe as old as me and had no substance to them and whilst the bottom bed sheet was clean there was no top sheet, just a duvet which I felt had not been washed since the last guest, it didn’t smell fresh. At under £40 for a single room it could be considered good value but it’s not a place I will return to.

After changing many landlords, trying to be a posh restaurant, a pizzeria, a sports bar and just the village pub-which is what this establishment was most successful at (in particular during lockdown it provided a welcome chilling opportunity with its large beer garden and kids area) … this longstanding local pub has closed down. Bookham locals will miss its familiar band nights and outdoor summer time drinking
