Of the nine people in my party, five opted for the carvery. The other four received good quality meals that they were very happy with. The carvery, however, was possibly the worst I have ever had! The meat (between us we tried all four on offer, were all tasteless. The turkey was bone dry and tasteless, the beef was tough with a lot of sinew and gristle and wasn’t even tasted as I couldn’t find any worth eating. The pork and ham were both dry and tasteless. The vegetables did not improve anything at all! The sprouts were hard, from frozen and tasted of nothing, the carrots were clearly reheated at least once, and what passed for gravy was clearly made from an instant mix and was, of course, tasteless and watery! Oh, and the Yorkshire puddings were reheated frozen ones and like the roast potatoes, were soggy. We were one of the first tables to be called up for our carvery which, logically, should have been freshly served so I would love to hear the excuses for such poor quality and unappetising food.

Friendly service, nice hot meals, Carvery seems special, so much choice. Pleasant atmosphere. Not cluttered, easy to move around. Parking at side.

Great, all you can eat Full English, plus £2.49 everlasting mug of coffee for 4 adults for less than £40

We went here on a Sunday evening for the carvery and was very impressed. The choice of meats was very good and there was a wide range of vegetables to choose from, all hot and well cooked. The service was quick and friendly and although it was pretty busy we ordered and paid at the bar as advised and was called up for our carvery shortly after retaking our seats. We managed to leave room for puddings, apple pie and chocolate fudge cake, which were both delicious with ample portions. This is the first time we’ve been here for more than 10 years but we definitely won’t be leaving it so long next time.

I wouldn't bother. Booked for 9.45 and arrived on time, there was no bacon, no eggs, no coffee. When I asked how long it would be the chef told me "oh quite a while I'm new and struggling" 25 mins later I went to the bar to ask how long it would be till we could get food and coffee and was told "I can't rush them or the bacon will be raw, but I'll put the coffee on to brew" and that was when she finally appeared. The bar was totally unattended but the work laptop with all the spread sheets and staffing was out and facing customers. And I was waiting at the bar over 5 mins until she appeared. It wasn't that busy, under a 3rd of the tables were sat although there were 4/5 tables left uncleared for the entire duration of our visit. We waited until 10.20 - 35 mins after arriving and then requested a refund. My kids had eaten a few strips of waffles so we paid their meals. I've never known bacon or eggs to take over half hour to cook, I imagine if I cooked bacon for 30 mins it'd be charcoal. Honestly the new staff excuse I'll never understand, I'd assume they're not working entirely alone, and even if they were to qualify for the title of chef surely you can cook bacon in under 30mins? First and last time we visit for breakfast as evidently they couldn't care less about providing the actual breakfast

Missing food from order and then claimed the driver stole it from the sealed bag. Terrible attitude of the person answering the phone and if this is how they treat customers then no one should visit them. Can't believe you'd accuse someone of theft from a sealed bag and not admit and resolve the mistakes you've made. Contemplating raising a police number and seeing if he will testify under oath that it was packed and the driver stole it.

We ordered a take away for the whole family as we have used this place many time but on arrival of our food I noticed my breakfast was missing phoned up and asked if the could get one out to me only to be told there is nothing they can do as no one working there can drive and they had packed it all so must of gone missing in transit but there bags are sealed

We were made to be very welcome! The lady making pizzas (think her name was Victoria/Vicky) was very busy and held it together. Thank you very much, will definitely be back.
