The Inn by The Sea in Gosport

Staff lovely and polite, went above and beyond, food was tasty and the meat was presented well, the veg and potatoes were all fresh and not dry and the food area was very clean. We had a dog with us which wasn’t an issue, the que system for the carvery was brilliant, we will definitely be visiting again.

It was busy in the pub, we had a dog with us and were happy accommodated in the garden. When our carvery was ready we were called. Advied them we were Gluten Free and a gluten free mug if gravy was provided food was lovely and staff were brilliant. Would recommend.

Really enjoyed the Ultimate Sharer and Hot Porker Pizza. Plenty for 3 to share.

Some staff friendly, senior staff just looked past you.

We visited Sunday lunchtime, 3 adults, 2 children. Crayons and colouring for the kids. Great Carvery, meat, especially the beef was gorgeous. Friendly, happy helpful staff.

The welcome is always friendly. Improve the cauliflower cheese it is always rock hard in this restaurant

Arrived just before 6 and shown to table next to noisy ice cream machine when it was half empty and we could have been sat elsewhere. After 15 minutes no one had been to the table to take any orders for food or drink. Ordered via the scan code on the table, about 6.30 we were eventually told we could go to the carvery. After ordering via the app it still took an extra 20 mins till we got our drinks.

nobody was waiting in line for the carvery which we was seated in view of , but told to wait till we was called to get our food. 15mins later (carvery getting cold and not topped up) we was called to get our food. staff must have been on a tea break as was standing around talking during this time. food quality poor and gammon very fatty. would not visit again

Sunday carvery with 3 adults and 2 kids.As we are new to the area we were looking for a venue for lunch with family.We tried Inn by the sea as we had heard good things. Our visit was great from start to finish could not fault the food or service.Also great value.My wife is disabled and found she could access the venue without problems.So you come highly recommended and you have gained another customer

Great self serve breakfast with all the normal ingredients but it can get really busy and sometimes the topping up is behind but can't fault the set up nor the quality . Friendly service and they will do their best to fit you in if turning up without booking but highly advise booking.

Pizza party package. The kids had a wonderful time creating their own pizzas. Vicki's engagement was brilliant with the kids. All had a fun time.

For a few years we'd been put off going to the Inn-by-the-sea for a sunday roast because it's a carvery, and our experiences of carveries elsewhere have been long & slow queues, cool & uninviting veg or empty veg dishes, and messy counters. We gave it a try a couple of weeks ago and found that it was well-organised with tables called to the carvery at their booked time with no queue, a good selection of fresh & hot & tasty veg, and clean counters. Food was good and tasty, portions were adequate plus (in fact for that reason we regretted ordering starters), service was good, staff were happy, friendly & obliging. We visited again this sunday - all very much up to the same standard. We recommend

The staff were so accommodating and fun especially Vikki who was doing her best with a team of super young and new staff. The food was lovely too

Best carvery we have had for a long time

We visit weekly on a Tuesday and the staff at Inn by the Sea are always so friendly, efficient and professional. We visited on 7th Jan for our son's 18th birthday for dinner and everything was fantastic as always. Thank you to a great team for always welcoming us.

Great place to eat when we want to get together for breakfast or main meal. Great value food.

Veggie roast carvery, don't be fooled into thinking you get a veggie option, it's just vegs, a disappointment, otherwise the food is lovely

Went in for our first time out Christmas dinner as a family, it was excellent and we all had a great time, the wife is already talking about doing it again. Well done & thanks to all the staff.

Christmas Day, party of 12, absolutely brilliant from start to finish, lovely happy relaxed atmosphere, staff were all cheerful & helpful, our waitress Vicky went the extra mile for the 4 young children in our party, food was fab, the lovely proprietors Tracy & Ian both checked on us, we enjoyed it so much we booked for next year on our way out :0))

Excellent place to enjoy good food and environment

We visited on Christmas eve pre booked for a birthday celebration. It was half empty, the area where we were seated was dirty with food on the floor. Carpet and tables were sticky. The carvery was extremely disappointing with watery tasteless vegetables. Roast potatoes were dry and hard. No one came to check on us or clear our plates. It was less than festive and will not be repeated.

I enjoy the food so much I had my boxing day meal here every year

We booked for a family festive get together. There was 30 of us mix of children and adults. I can honestly say it was a real pleasure, we pre ordered our food which was ideal and this was checked again on the day. The food was lovely, all the staff and service was brilliant and Tracey the manager was an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Would definitely recommend this to anyone for a get together and we will define back. Thank you!

Had the most amazing time at inn by the sea yesterday - Staff were incredibly welcoming and Tracey and Vicky couldn’t do enough to insure that we all had a fabulous night out at the Robbie Willams tribute act. (Hope there will be another one) We had a 3 course meal as part of the Christmas menu and can say it was outstanding. Food was hot , delivered well presented and tasted delicious- table of 10 people very happy. Must say best chocolate fudge cake ever 😊 Thank you to all the staff especially Tracey - you have started the Christmas season off for me very well 👌

We treated our friends to a carvery lunch yesterday, our first visit to Inn by the Sea. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Dan who served us was very helpful and pleasant, and the young lady on the carvery did an excellent job. The food was excellent, lovely meat and a good selection of nicely cooked veg. Brilliant service by all staff. We were not rushed between courses. We had a main course and dessert with a great selection of drinks. Both courses were really good at a very reasonable price. Will be back soon

I recently had a fantastic meal here with the family. Wonderful food and very attentive staff. A massive shout out to Viki who helped us navigate ordering with my dad's intolerances. It's rare to find a restaurant that is willing to make such big alterations to a dish. All in all everyone left happy and full. Would highly recommend to anyone planning an affordable family meal out.

Popped in here on the off chance, wish we hadn't!. The place is run down and dirty, certainly would not eat in here. Left feeling like I needed a shower!. Definitely a NO from me.

We have just had our 8 year olds pizza making party here, and I would definitely give it 10/10!! Our party host Vicky was superb! Kept 12 children 7-12yrs engaged and all the children had lots of fun. Would definitely recommend it. Vicky didn't let me do anything, which was great 😃

If you're feeling like a good breakfast, this is the place to aim for, plentiful free parking if your not local once inside Tuck in to all your favourite breakfast items, as much as you need to fill up, good quality food nicely cooked fried bread for a special treat and the bacon is especially good thick top quality amazing value and if your still hungry you just help yourself to some more, then I totally recommend a good long walk along the sea front just to take the guilty feeling away for being rather over enthusiastic at breakfast this morning. Thanks, INN BY THE SEA. I'll restart my diet tomorrow...Again.!!!

Had the carvery, it was very nice but mash and veg lacked seasoning. Meat lovely, yorkshires lovely, roast potatoes amazing, went back 3 times for more 😋 my grandchildren lucas, ethan and Mia loved it 😋

I went here a couple of days ago for the breakfast! It was really fairly priced with a great selection of food. I’m probably going to make it a weekly treat now as I did really enjoy it. It’s worth booking a table though as it was busy, but for good reason.

Great place for a Sunday carvery

brilliant food and service, accommodated a large group of us for my nans 90th at short notice. food was amazing and thorough with allergy , really a lovely carvery and my nieces burgers and pizzas looked amazing !

Invited here by a relative, not again ever. Kitchen staff moaning about food running out for carvery had 3 beef was very fatty, service poor and the children pizza meal we waited for before getting are carvery took well over 30min and then had to wait again for a the kids chips, about 7-8 in a little dish, I work in catering I know it's hard work.... But this was beyond poor... After telling the floor staff. Was told there put are point across, no care for the custom coming through the doors. ( As Google asks what dishes would you recommend none if it's this bad )

Came here for a birthday meal and was very happy at the service by the staff as well as the fantastic food. Great value for money and plenty of places to sit.

Twas a chill evening, had a nice Mac n Cheese and cranberry juice. Service was quick, food was tasty and the Cranberry juice was exquisite.

Got told we couldn't order burgers due to apparent technical issue with the till which wasn't our fault it was theirs, not much choice on the menu, decor was horrible half painted rolling pins, window frames were splitting, the roast wasn't a that nice the vegetables (carrots & sprouts) were very soft and the staff were shouting which we could hear while trying to eat som of what was on the plate, only good thing was the turkey. I don't recommend this place

Food was really tasty and as much as you can manage!

My sister and I popped in for a quick bite to eat with some trepidation after a visit a few years ago which was quite awful. We were greeted ad given a table,the menu was fairly extensive and very reasonable, our main server was a young lady called Ashley, who clearly loves her job as she was incredibly efficient but so lovely at the same time, she is a credit to the pub and the company as a whole

Veg cold gravy cold veg very watery been many times in the past today was the last. The potatoes were hard and obviously had been there a long time.
