There's a sign in the window offering a job, so I applied. I was offered a trial shift which I went to, I was there for 2 hours and 30 minutes. I finish the shift and I'm told to send my hours worked in a message so they can pay me. That was on the 8th of June, I'm still yet to receive the payment for working the time that I did. It seems like they're just looking for free labour, do not try to work here.

Has to be the worst chippy I have ever had. The chips were soggy and the battered sausage were way over done and probably cooked the day before. Absolutely disgusting.

Don’t even bother just tried Gill’s for the first time and will not be going back! our meat tastes vile and the chip are under cooked massively have just dug thorough and found raw chicken too! Just phoned up to complain to be told this is there normal! Completely inedible and unacceptable standards. we was offered another meal although long wait for new meat but safe to say if this is there normal we don’t want it. Completely unsatisfied and now ordering a different take away!

Order went through at 7.33pm, food was at my door at 7.48pm! 15 minutes on a Friday night, AMAZING! Food was piping hot and SO good! Chips and saveloy perfect and the batter on the cod was delicious! Best chippy around will most certainly order again

The most disgusting kebab I have ever tasted, and the fish and chips was nothing special either the kebab was so bad, I threw it in the bin.

Change your oil! Inedible chips, scampi was burnt-shame because the last delivery was lovely

Ordered large chips, a small turned up! Only just filled the tray! Ordered a cheese burger and it turned up with no cheese! So much money for so little food

Never showed up yet they had the nerve to update this like they fulfilled the order. Could have updated it and rejected the order at any point giving me a chance to order elsewhere but instead dragged it out for almost 2hours and then updated this to order fulfilled. Absolute joke.

Ordered large chips to get a small, large fish to get a regular and the chips burnt and oil was definitely too old to cook with. Won’t order from them again!

DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE THIEVES!!!!! Firstly my order took 2HOURS from ordering to get to my house! Then they forgot my drinks (WHICH COSTS A DAMN FIVER?!?) They toold me it would take another 1.5 hours to get the drinks back to me and then they never bought them! They're little thieves that make bad food. Avoid at all costs.

Ordered a chippy tea before work. However, they changed the delivery time without notifying us; and they were late for the new delivery time as well. I can’t comment on the quality of the food as I never got to eat anything!

Extra large chips looks like a small u get nothing all small Barnt nasty chips and to charge u a 5er for it is disgusting not happy won't be ordering anything again

Ordered large chips, they are like a small will feed one adult and one child. Don't get me wrong the fish is really nice (cod) but so dissapointed with the portion size when paying good money for large chips and doesn't even feed two adults. Sort portion sizes out its letting you down. Overall nice tasting chips and fish is good size and lovely.

Delivery on time and driver was lovely. Despite that, I paid for 3 large portions of chips. More like small portions. £14! Will order elsewhere in future. Rip off.

Long wait. Order was wrong when it arrived. Didn’t order a cheese burger! Pitta bread in kebab was soggy, not very nice.

Asked for large chips looked like a small to me other chippys we have used there large is much bigger . Had to go and buy another portion as the first one will only feed one person

possibly the worse fish and chips ive ever eaten 🤢 chip had been cooked in old oil and where full of bits of both over cooked batter and remnants of old chips, fish was so greasy the paper it was wrapped in was almost see through, had to dab with kitchen roll to absorb some of the oil. delivery driver was polite. won't be ordering from here again 😒

large cod wasn't large, chips tasted burnt, fishcake tasted like cardboard and mushy were off.

Food was truly awful we have just binned all of it bar the chips. bought the £20 box, box bottom fell through when we pulled it out due to the amount of grease that was is in it (basically a grease bath) the chicken was awful and the lamb was ok at best. Wont be ordering from here again

I only had one issue in that I ordered a pinneapple fritter and it didn't arrive. the rest of the food was superb.

Ordered at 9pm with an estimated delivery time of 30 mins. It is currently 10:55pm and we are yet to receive our food. We have called the shop twice and the man we spoke to was incredibly rude. We haven’t received a single apology. We accept they are busy but a simple “sorry” would’ve been great. We will not be ordering from here again. I’m absolutely starving at this point.

Disgusting customer service!!!. my order turned up late with food missing, when I phoned to tell them was shouted at twice "can't hear you mate" hung up on then refused to awnser the phone, 13 unanswered calls later I gave up and ate half a dinner. safe to say will never use again!!!

Talk about a rip off. I certainly won't be ordering again. A tray of doner meat at £7 you expect a good amount. A half filled burger box arrived, an xl chips at £4.90 was not even enough for 2 people. I pay less in a kebab shop and get more for my money. Sorry to say they put profit margin so high they won't get return customers. On top of that a £2.50 delivery charge and 40p service charge!! For delivery less than a mile away.

Ordered on Just eat...over cooked fish overcooked sausage..it was just burnt...worked a 14 hour day just needed food...ate what I could...not recommended. How is this place running at 4 star

Worst chipshop I've ever ordered from honestly! Such a small order and you couldn't deliver quality! Extra Large chips-small portion IF THAT! Battered sausage a cold sausage with a oily wrap around excuse of batter threw it in the bin and got a refund!

I cannot fault the service of the driver. After discovering we had the wrong order delivered the driver handle it all and brought us a piping hot order from the restaurant with only 25 minutes later than the delivery time. This is my favourite place and where we always order fish and chips from.

Chips were nice but very small portion for extra large, not even enough for 2 to share. Balti pie was cold, but delicious once I warmed it up, cod was nice inside but the batter was inedible, very hard and very greasy couldn't bite or cut it and mixed kebab lamb was lovely but the chicken had a very weird vinegar taste and smelt very unpleasant. All in all a mixed result with some positives and several negatives.

Chips were slightly both under and overdone at the same time, ordered an extra large chips but what came through was at best a medium chips, still tasted nice. Rest of the meal was lush as always

Ordered a large fish, chips, chicken nuggets and pea fritter. Got home and noticed we had no fritter and the size of the large fish was tiny - £7 for a piece of fish that definitely was not large! That said, the fish did taste lovely and was cooked well, but we won't be returning and paying that amount again for what we got, unfortunately.

Bit disappointed as there was a hair in my chips,also chips were a little greasy not the best I've had.

Food was kinda ok. Fish needed draining longer as fish was still dripping with oil.

Use this place frequently as its very close to the house. Never any complaints.

3 large chips ordered to go between 8 children and 3 adults (amongst other food). Food arrived and portions were much smaller than expected compared to other businesses used before. All 3 portions were divided between the children with half a portion left to go between the adults, which obviously is not enough. The first time we ordered from here we didn't think the large chips was a decent size, this time we paid an extra £1 for extra large portion. This was ridiculously small! Probably less than the large portion we had before. I also ordered a pickled onion at £1.20, this was not only very small but soft as well! On a positive note the sausages were nice and as were the chips, just a pitiful amount. The meal was nice and hot.

Previous orders have been great but this one was definitely not as good. The portion sizes have definitely changed smaller and the cost seems far too high for the amount of food. Such a shame as previous orders were brilliant.

Always ordering on a Sundays and sometimes Tuesdays, always on time or early, food is fresh and tasty. Never had any problems

I usually order every Friday from Gills / Broadway fryer and it never fails to impress! The fish is always cooked to perfection and although some of these reviews have mentioned the fish being undersized, I have to disagree! I can never finish my meal as it is simply always more than I can fit! I will always use this chip shop and I will recommend to friends / family.

The best fish and chip shop in Gosport! Food was amazing, batter was so nice. Portion size was huge, extra large chips for 2! Definitely will be my main fish and chips from now on 👍

Norm v good, but very dissapointed. Late. Most of my fish was good, but 1 piece was v dry and massively overcooked. Batter was Very oily. Chips were old, dry and tatseless. Seriously considering ordering here again.....

Thought i’d try something new as my regular is shut. Not impressed, all had a fully chemical taste and very very greasy. only good thing was the battered sausage + the portion size was pretty generous. shame it was all soggy and basically wet when it arrived to me, won’t be using again

We order alot from this take away, through just eat, we ordered food, one of the items tasted and smelt rancid. The chicken was not fresh, or the fish. We won't be using this take away again.
