The Inglenook in Arun

Not a welcoming place. Senior waiter (or manager) took our food order. No welcome or friendly behaviour from him. Most of the food arrived. Most of us were eating our food as the burger was so late arriving. When it arrived it was undercooked and very pink inside. Meat pie had to be returned as vegetables and mash were cold. The pie was so overpowering with herbs and was impossible to tell whether the meat was lamb or beef. Our friend went home and was very poorly with stomach upset after eating this. The chips with the scampi were lukewarm. No one asked how our food was. Think they must have gathered we were not happy. Some of us ordered dessert. Waitress said I suppose you need spoons!!! How did she expect us to eat the food!!! Won’t be returning.

We paid £250.00 per night. The bathroom had no shampoo and we had to force open the cheap conditioner. Dinner was disappointing, my Welsh rarebit was raw and had to be sent back. The lamb was delicious but the Sheppard's pie was dry with no gravy. The fish cakes and truffle fries were devine. Overall pleasant but not anywhere near worth the price

I had another lovely stay at this little gem in the heart of beautiful Pagham Village. I arrived to a lovely upgrade to the bridal suite which was amazing, so Thankyou all very much ♥️. The food, staff, rooms and grounds all 5 ⭐️ for me. As always I had fantastic stay, with a tribute to Elton John on in their function room which was amazing. 🤞🏻 I’ll be back when you have another tribute night for sure.

Had our wedding at the Inglenook yesterday. Perfect day helped along by the wonderful staff, especially the manager Phil, he was always one step ahead. The food was delicious, staff were attentive, friendly and so helpful. Such a beautiful setting for a wedding.. The whole weekend was amazing. It’s definitely our favourite place in Pagham and one that will always be close to our hearts. I can’t thank the staff enough for making it all go so well.

We were travelling to the South coast to see family and friends. Jane my wife and our dog Winston. Our first stop was at the Inglenook Hotel. The first impression was ok but not great, the place is a tad tired, but the welcome was warm. Our room was clean and ok, but small it just accommodated the (large) crate for Winston after a reorganisation of the furniture. The pub has a nice beer garden and friendly bar. We were booked in for dinner both nights and were shown to a table in the area between the bar area and the formal restaurant. This is where they put their guests with dogs who want to eat. I had the stake the first night which was large and good. At both breakfasts there were a number of other dogs, we were all served in the same area as dinner, it was busy but everyone was friendly. Breakfast was very good. The service was good too. We had a very lovely dinner the second night, I had scampi, good pub grub. We had a nice stay and the staff were all lovely.

What can we say.......The Inglenook Hotel has been, by far, one of the best hotels we have stayed at. Our room was clean and comfortable; furnishings to suit the appearance of the building. Crisp, clean and fresh bedding. Dinner was delicious! Cooked and presented perfectly. Breakfast was also delicious! After dinner we went into the bar and enjoyed the special ales and whiskeys. Such a cosy space with real fireplaces and a lovely atmosphere. The service was friendly and welcoming, by all staff, during our stay. We will certainly be staying again! We stayed over night had lunch dinner breakfast could not fought anything staff so lovely and very welcoming friendly atmosphere will definitely be coming back couldn't get in for Sunday roast but will be booking earlier next time thank you for having us

Well all I can say about this visit can be summed up in one word awesome and fabulous ok it took two words sorry. The overall service across the board includes the two words I mentioned. The staff cannot do enough for your comfort and nothing is too much for efforts to please you. This all stems from the great leadership of their managers Phill & Sophie who instill a great ethos into their staff and they also lead by example . So big thanks to them for that . I cannot wait to return to this area because I know where I'll be staying . The warm and friendly family atmosphere made me feel at home . My wife and I visited the Inglenook for Christmas Day lunch 2023 and had a wonderful experience. We were shown promptly to our table which like the room was very tastefully decorated. We enjoyed a really delicious 5 course meal whilst being waited on by very attentive, friendly and courteous staff. We are very particular in where we would choose to eat, especially on Christmas Day and we would highly recommend The Inglenook for its excellent food and drink, friendly and helpful staff and a homely cosy environment. Well done to The Inglenook and all its management and staff.

Best Christmas Ever! My partner and I had an absolutely amazing time at the Inglenook Pagham, the staff are fantastic and treat you like old friends, the food was out of this world, Christmas Dinner was yummy 😋 and sooo much of it, so many courses and extremely nice, a little too nice, I'll have to work a little harder in the New Year to try and get the pounds off! 🤣🙌 the staff worked they're socks off making sure everyone was attended too, crackers and laughter in abundance and plenty of Christmas music plus a beautifully made up banquet room made for a perfect Christmas day. Ho, Ho, Ho! Thank you so much for all your hard work. To then go and do it all again on Boxing Day with a surprise visit from our daughter and her husband (my partner secretly arranged with staff) absolutely made my Christmas and the food was just as perfect as it was the day before as we're the staff. Thank you so much for all your help over this period and for making it such a special time for us. You are ALL ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We will see you again soon Colin and Jo xx

I went to the Inglenook with a group of friends for a Christmas meal. I’ve been to the Inglenook for Christmas parties many times in the past and the atmosphere has always been great and it’s been really busy and buzzy. I was amazed by how quiet the place was, no Christmas party night happening and only two other tables apart from us. We preordered and the food came out quickly, the roast turkey was pleasant enough although the pigs in blankets were alarmingly anaemic. It was 3 courses whether you wanted dessert or not which most of us wouldn’t have had so it was very wasteful. No coffee or tea was offered. At 8.30pm we were encouraged to pay at the bar when we were ready, which we weren’t, and lights were turned off and doors locked around us! After persevering for a bit longer we went into the bar to pay where half a dozen people and a dog were with a fed up looking barman who took our money without a smile. None of us will be rushing back. Such a shame, great spot but woefully lacking in personality.

Really enjoyed our visit. Was a bit unsure of visiting as have been before and although food was nice previously and it has a lovely garden we were not too sure if we would return. So glad we did! It looks like the whole place has had a ‘freshen up’. Alot more variety on the menu too. Staff very friendly too. Had a lovely lunch here.

We stayed at the Inglenook Saturday night as we were attending a family Birthday. We found the hotel welcoming and the staff very friendly and helpful. The room Was nice and it had Tea and coffee-making facilities and the Breakfast was absolutely gorgeous. we will be returning when it is needed

We stay at the local caravan park for 20 weeks or so per year and until recently had not visited the nook as it looked a bit upmarket. However several locals we spoke to said this was not the case, so we tried it out. Myself, the disabled woman I am a carer for always sit in the garden with our dog. The garden is wonderful and seating well spaced out. The food Is tasty, plentiful and not expensive. All the staff are friendly and helpful , especially the girl from Littlehampton and the lad whom worked Tuesday. Drink prices also competitive with local hospitality venues. Well worth a visit if you visiting the area.

We’ve just returned from another lovely stay at the Inglenook Pagham, only this time we where lucky enough to stay in the bridal suite. What an experience, we loved the room and the giant bed and bathroom just wow..! My granddaughter was living her best life in the jacuzzi bath, and didn’t want to leave. The staff as always go above and beyond to make your stay as wonderful as possible. Thankyou everyone, I’ve only just got home but I’m already planning my next visit.

Wonderful atmosphere. The staff was outstanding! Would recommend to come again and again. The hotel accommodations were wonderful. Very nice decor and ambulance. Very relaxing atmosphere.

I visited the Inglenook hotel with my husband last month after hearing such high reviews from friends. The food was fine but nothing special. Sadly I couldn’t help but notice our waiter was very agile and rather unhappy to have us, terrible service in that respect and shan't return

We went for a Sunday lunchtime drink and my wife went and sat down at the only table which was available and did NOT have a reserved sign on it whilst I got some drinks. After 10mins we were asked to move from the table by the bar person as it was reserved. Where can we move to my wife asked as all other tables were occupied but the bar person looked at us blankly. We then got up to leave as was very embarrassed and annoyed as there was no reserved sign. We then finished our drinks in the garden and left and will not be returning.

Have recently just held our wedding at this venue. We have nothing but praise for the staff, service and facilities provided. It was more than value for money, the bridal suite was fantastic and all our guests could not fault the setting, food and accommodation. Would recommend it very highly. Mr&Mrs Worley

Come to pagham for a little holiday with the family and have been exploring the local pubs and restaurant. We had a lovely afternoon in the garden with the sun shining! The food was great, traditional pub food and lovely sandwiches. The service was also great and the staff were all very friendly. Definitely will be making another visit before we go home.

Absolutely love, love, love this place! Everything about it stands out, from its old world ambience and original features to the incredibly friendly staff. The food is out of this world making every meal a delight and not having to worry about looking for somewhere to eat is always a bonus and the food here will not let you down. All the staff here are extremely professional and know their job inside out and we cant wait to go back, in fact the day we got back we re-booked our next trip!. We we're meant to stay for a weekend and it was that good we stayed for a whole week. Absolutely brilliant 😁

We're local and met with friends, who were staying at the hotel for breakfast. Can't fault the food but service was unfriendly and not welcoming. The waitress and manager didn't have a nice word or smile to share and we noticed eye rolling when we made a request. No tea/coffee refills offered - we had to ask. When we left, guests checked out and we paid; all 9 of us gave the same response - nice food! We met the new owner who asked after our visit and again our response was 'the food was nice '. We didn't feel we could complain and nor did we wish to create and to be fair that is what this platform is for!! We left having enjoyed our food but sadly we were all in agreement that the service we received was poor. Certainly was NOT professional and nor was it courteous - we felt that we were simply tolerated.

Another amazing stay at the friendliest hotel in Pagham. Rooms, Food, Staff, entertainment all 5 ⭐️ for us. The tribute show ‘The Four Harmonies’ where brilliant. We booked 4 rooms several weeks ago.I checked the booking the week before - only 3 rooms booked! They very kindly gave us the bridal sweet for my mother in law for half price, thank you, however, we were nervous that booking may again be incorrect. At time of checking they confirmed 7 guests plus myself and my husband (as we were joining our guests for breakfast which requires a table for 9). We arrived at 9am, met our guests but could not see our table or any staff. We loitered awkwardly and were eventually spoken to by Phil 'the manager,' who was abrupt with us and impatiently rolled his eyes when we enquired about our table. Nice!! He confirmed a table for 7 and seemed even more annoyed with us when we confirmed our original request for a table for 9 which was what we had booked. He abruptly took us out of the restaurant and sat us at 2 separate tables...not what we wanted for our wedding breakfast. Service was awful, we felt like we were an annoyance rather than paying guests. No fresh fruit juice, no yoghurt or fruit and the cereal can only be described as basic, cheap and cheerful. No drink orders were taken but tea and coffee pots were put on the table. Tea and coffee both served in a tea pot and not enough cups. Small pots for table size so soon ran out but no top up/replacement offered. Phil and waitress had a disgusting attitude and any question or request was met with encumbrance. We all felt like a nuisance and all commented on how rude Phil and the waitress were. Such a shame as the food was great and as we're local would like to use again BUT with staff having attitudes like that we will unfortunately not be rushing back. We met the new owner who seemed lovely which makes us question if he knows how his staff can make guests feel.

Located in Pagham high street not very far from Bognor regis Resort. This is a charming Hotel full of character with friendly staff starting from helpful front-of-the house staff to the elegent bar and restaurant. The room i stayed in was very clean with comfortable bed tastfuly decorated with all amenities with outstanding attention to detail. The Hotel has a large bar/ restaurant on the ground floor which is open to the public. the quality of food served was of the higest quality srved by professional and friendly staff. The Hotel has a large outside garden with tables ,and chairs to relax in nice sunny days. there is alse a large free car park .at the rear of the building. It was pleasure to spend a night there

Went last night 06 Sep. and really enjoyed the food. Started with the warm goats cheese and honey salad, then the Sunday roast chicken which was absolutely delicious followed by creme brulee. The staff were great and friendly, great night out.

Just visited the Inglenook and tried their new Pizzas which are cooked on site in their new oven. I recon that theses are up there with one of the best I’ve ever eaten. The staff are also keeping everyone as safe as possible implementing the rules set out by the government for COVID-19. Well done team Inglenook.

Living local to the Inglenook we are so lucky to have had great food available during this strange year ,during lockdown they still supplied takeaways of pies, fish and chips plus other delicious meals. Since we have ventured out again this is such a welcoming place to dine and the biggest part for us is that the safety measures are so reassuring, we have booked many times mostly in the lovely gardens and enjoyed wonderful pizzas which are a new addition this summer last night as the weather was inclement we ate inside wonderfully distanced tables delicious food and great beer. the menu as of many places at present isn't extensive but gives a good choice of food to suit all at affordable prices .Lovely staff and great team all round

We booked a table and when arrived at 11.45 was told we wasnt booked in til the evening and made us feel we should be lucky as they found us a table in the garden at 26' sunshine ! It took 20 to 30 mins to get drinks and had to grab a waitress at 1pm to order our food ? My partner had the steak (Which wasnt The Ribeye on menu!) But still same price? Steak was very tough and mostly inedible. My Burger was falling apart and very salty ? Feeling very uncomfortable in the mid day sun we wanted the bill to leave ... 1 hour later and no more service for anymore drinks we finally got the bill at 2.30pm! when stating how long we waited for the bill we was told The Chef had walked out and they were doing their best ?. I had the exact same meal in cafe in town for a fraction of the price and far better quality ? I know these are hard times but The Service and the Quality was dreadfull. These places should be reported to trading standards with there very poor quality. They are charging Restaurant prices where I can honestly state I have had better service at Macdonalds drive through !

My wife booked us a meal here last night, I had no idea what to expect but no worries. To be fair it was a bit cold and blowy out, not ideal weather to sit in the garden room to eat. It's actually in the garden rather than a conservatory so bear in mind.Food wise then menu was quite small, there was a mix of more homecooked vs standard dishes . My wife's lasagne was more the former and looked good, as did another tables chessy cottage pie. I had the fish and chips which for a seaside resort area seemed very average at best. The fish didn't seem that fresh and to me could have been out of a supermarket freezer box version. The kids food was the most disappointing thing though, I know it's kids food, so not that expensive or high brow usually but still you can do it well, the lobster pot cafe last night did. In this case i had asked what pizza it was and was told 5 cheese, fine sounds nice but I swear that the pizza was a frozen one. A Chicago Town five cheese one. Frankly that takes the mick, for a restaurant with good reviews it's embarrassing. Their Chicken nuggets were not much better but a decent amount so it didn't matter.It's rare I don't tip, but the service was erratic too, so I didn't, I didn't want to. Sorry but try harder and please if anything bin those pizzas off.

On a short break we needed a good meal on our first night after an afternoon walking in Kingley Vale. We were not disappointed. It was lucky we booked as there was no availability on the night. Excellent food at a respectable price. The staff were exceptionally attentive and very polite. I would highly recommend the Inglenook pub as a delightful place to eat.

Lovely meal last night. Restaurant and hotel spotlessly clean. Staff amazing giving 100% to make our visit safe and welcoming. Love how this gem down in Pagham is beating the virus with innovative ideas such as pizza oven and gin bar in the garden. Dear Inglenook you deserve nothing but success we will be back soon.

Great pub. Very COVID safe. Table service. Staff are fantastic and look after you so well. Regularly check everything is ok. Food is absolutely delicious and quick turn around. Well worth a visit. Highly recommend.

On holiday in Pagham called in for a pint , I was met by the manager ( I presume ) ,I was asked "Are you a resesident,I replied no.he then said you have register at reception,I said do not bother" I do not mind giving all my details for Corovinus but he was not interested .I left the pub and visited another pub .

Called in on the off chance we would get a table. We were welcomed by friendly staff and were shown to a table. My husband had a burger with brie and chips, I had Lasagne Chips and a side salad. The food was very good and very hot.

We had lunch here on a Saturday at start of Feb, we, as a couple have dined here before, to our entire satisfaction. We booked to sit in the bar area but had the choice from the bar menu and restaurant a la carte, great. The staff as always are really friendly and right on the ball with service. The food arrived smartly and was as usual really good, good presentation, hot and full of flavour. Their Lasagne and salad is really good as was the fish and chips.There were 5 of us and with sweet and drinks the whole bill came to £120.00. Really good value. Would certainly recommend.

This restaurant has a good reputation so decided to try it for ourselves. I chose the Lamb Stew, it was delicious, just like my mother used to make. My friends both had the fish pie and made similar comments. Next time I am in this area I will just have to go back.

As it’s New Years Eve, I feel prompted to let people know what an AMAZING place The Inglenook is! I met my husband there 25years ago on New Years Eve!! We married there, which was so magical , we couldn’t have wished for anything better, we have had wonderful meals which are sensational, gone to parties there which are always personalised with great care to detail , are great fun, with lots of dancing !!! .. the atmosphere is always brilliant ! Lots of Christmas parties which are just as a Christmas party should be, full of festive jollity!! I have also sadly had my parents funerals there (it was their favourite place too ) they were done with such love, and sensitivity beyond measure.So a big huge congratulations and thank you to The Inglenook , Tony, Sarah & Edna and to all there fabulous staff for continuing with their their amazing food , service, and welcoming atmosphere. Happy 2020 to you all !!

Went on boxing day Absolute rip off No drink on arrival and actually no one to greet us at all Two tiny slithers of meat from carvery then had to wait 15 mins for bill Very disappointing as it all came to £80

We have just had a wonderful Christmas break at the Inglenook.From check in on Christmas Eve until we checked out on Friday 27th we have had a fantastic stay.Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet and all the staff are very friendly and welcoming.All our food was included in our break. There was so much thought put into the stay - the tables were beautifully presented and the food and the service was excellent throughout the stay. Father Christmas even paid a visit to the children at lunch time.My husband and I have just enjoyed a lovely relaxing Christmas break and would highly recommend staying at the Inglenook at any time of the year.

This has become a tradition to visit the Inglenook for our Boxing Day meal, now the fourth year. Once again it was superb, we have never been disappointed. The food which was a three course plus coffee also included their fantastic carvery which is always fantastic, everything cooked perfectly and incredibly with four different meats to choose from. What makes this event more special is the friendly and efficient service, this year we had a new Lady (to us) serving and she was brilliant always around if needed, but not constantly bothering, just perfect. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special with a lovely greeting from the Manager. We will certainly be back next year and continue our tradition.

Visited the Inglenook hotel today for Christmas lunch. It was fantastic from start to finish. The place was decorated for Christmas with excellent style, the tables were set with sparkles and high quality Christmas crackers. The service was brilliant and the food was cooked to perfection. Well done to all involved

We came as a family to get away from having the effort of doing it ourselves. The food was amazing and the staff couldnt be more attentive to your needs. My nana and grandad have older people needs and they were met amazingly that made the whole trip even better! Come here if you want a family run, more private and personable experience and you wont regret it!

Starting with a drink in the bar to a really well cooked meal and back into the bar. The whole evening was a pleasure.In particularly the atmosphere in the bar was one I wish you could find more of. Welcoming locals, attentive staff and a good open conversation around an open fire.

We complained the dessert wasn't as advertised and they did not hesitate in refunding that part of the meal we had. Otherwise the food was excellent.

My wife and I took our Son and daughter in law for a quiet dinner as a small private celebration for our golden wedding before the clans gathered for the big celebration.
