Great Food with plenty of flavours and delivery was 10 mins early

Unsure what has happened but this place has gone down hill. The food was so poor we could not eat it. Such a shame

Asked for a hot Royal Naga sauce for our meal. Also asked them to confirm that. Did not get said sauce did not get any confirmation because they did check message on the order very poor customer service.

Well, first of all and very important. This is no longer the Indian Gate, it’s the Maharaja and the sign goes up on Saturday. This is really important, the Indian Gate was the worst Indian take away I have ever used, and I gave it 3 attempts, with detailed criticism then have not been since, very disappointed. A couple of days ago we got another take away menu through the door and it mentioned Cardomon Lounge, Narborough. I love Indian food and read the menu with glee, all looked good, different and very affordable. I said to my wife ‘if only our takeaway, just round the corner’ was anything like this. Anyway, picked my food and prepared to set off for Narborough. My wife then picked up the flyer to make her choice. Then she let out a loud ‘oh’. What, I asked, she told me the amazing news that Maharaja was opening on Watergate lane. Wow. Tonight was the big night, made my choices, ( standard for such a big test) Chicken Jalfrezi, madras hot, mushroom Bhaji, mushroom pilau rice. I had my own home made chapatti’s so none of them required. And the verdict, awesome, amazing and about time too. The ordering app needed a tweak, which they did immediately and the food was as close to perfect as possible. Thanks guys, I will be back.

Tried this restaurant for the first time and was hopeful! Drink missing and Tikka masala originally smelled burnt. Food was delicious, and the driver kindly refunded me for my drink! Will definitely be ordering from here again!

The chips were ok, curries did not taste good. Quite bland. Butter chicken sauce just tasted of tomatoes, madras tasted like beef stock. Very disappointed.

Ordered 2 Rogan josh. 1 mild and 1 medium. Pilau rice turned up a as a boiled rice and both Rogan joshes were the same. I couldn’t eat mine as it was far too hot 🥵 will not be ordering again!!!

Had a great chicken kebab with a fantastic naan. Wasn't sure about it being prepared at the back because I like to see what is happening to my food, but when I got home food was fine, salad was fine and spicy mint was great. Yoghurt was too sweet for my liking. Kebab was good and at a reasonable price.

Food is good however sometimes they get order wrong had happend to me few times. I asked for plain chips and checked on delivery it wasn’t plain he said it was seasoning

we loved the food from this place in 2010 -2013 when we lived in Leicester . We had some takeaway last week during our stay at Leicester - the food quality has deteriorated in quality and taste - upsetting

Food was really nice. I was a shame we had to warm it up and we ordered a keema naan and we just got a plain naan.

Best Indian takeaway I have ever tasted.Excellent value for money. I'd eat this deliciousness​ for breakfast, dinner and tea. I actually did today. Got me through hard graft with a smile and probably stinky breath, love it.

Very tasty! Great food and lovely people. Like having the option to change spiciness as well. I got the paneer makhani (medium) and garlic and green chilli Naan. Really really good and comes with loads of paneer!!

Mixed grill was awful,it tasted like it had gone off, binned all of it. The curry was very bland . The garlic naan was good though

I rarely write any reviews but I had to on this instance, I ordered Saag (Spinach), Lamb Karai, 1 rice and 2 Garlic Naans, order came very promptly leading to concern. Saag was tasteless, didn't look like traditional Punjabi Saag, I couldn't eat it and left it. Lamb dish, lamb pieces were very tuff and chewy, there was far too much oil in the dish, I left this also, way too much you can taste it. Naans were not fresh, very rubbery, can't taste garlic, did not taste fresh, it was pre prepared, and in 15 mins to deliver it, it shows it's not fresh at all, Please go back to basics, if I order food I expect it to be made freshly for me, I would not order again, in this day and age with businesses closing every day. Why not just be simple and tasty and maintain your customer base Btw I'm Punjabi and cook Indian every week.

Would like to say me and my partner went to the Indian Gate for my birthday. It was a lovely restaurant service was excellent very friendly and very reasonable food excellent we will definitely be back.😀

Always a very nice nan kebab, loads of meat, separate side salad, very good value for money. And they deliver.

Quote possibly the worst food i have ever eaten. Missed off the delivery of poppadoms. As a vegetarian indian, the food i ordered is some of the simplest dishes to cook. The paneer karahi was reheated and over watered in doing so leaving it a bland concoction of onions and paneer. By the way a karahi is made of peppers, some onions and a beautiful balanced symphony of spices. I would suggest the India Gate revisit Delhi to get a cooking lesson. The Bhindi (lady fingers) was beyond atrocious. Using Frozen bhindi in such a delicate dish was diabolical. And then reheating it in a premade curry sauce for all your dishes is just an injustice. People should open restaurants and takeaways to live out a passion and enjoyment of cooking, not just to make a coupe of quid. I only ordered from here as i was stuck in Leicester last night. I feel sorry for the people who receive your bad food. If you can cook vegetarian food, what you do with meat dishes makes me really wonder. You probably wonder what gives me the right to give such a scathing review. Well, i supply equipment for restaurants and takeaways and visit more commercial kitchens in a year that i care to imagine. Fortunately for me, i meet a lot of owners who are willing to go the extra mile to make a difference. Shame the India Gate is not one of them.

A great place to visit if you are traveling to New Delhi. A great way to see and meet the locals of New Delhi. They sell things like sunglasses and costume jewellery. A great way to see and explore the culture. I have been here twice and live taking friends and family who visit me whilst in New Delhi.

Poor customer service. Just Eat states free delivery charge but the restaurant claims that they should have charged for it... Food was delivered with Currys spilt allover the bag with soaked Naan bread. Not recommended.

Amazing samosas and a speedy delivery on a Friday night. I would chose this restaurant when in the Blaby/Glen Parva area of Leicester.

British Indian - Food was average, Sikh kebab was cooked from frozen (watery when you bite into it). Nothing special, but not bad food.

Forgot to give me my drink on the order, but food was of a good standard. Oh and the salad was a little over the top with a full onion that was not not finely sliced.

Food was lovely, as always from here. But when dropping it off the driver tells me next time there will be a charge for delivery as it's 4.5 miles to mine and he charges after 4 miles. Then sort this out with just eat... I can't volunteer to pay extra on my bill when paying with just eat cause I know it's 0.5 miles more than they think it is!!

I'm so happy that The Indian Gate is now on Just Eat! My wife and I love this takeaway. I've never had a bad meal from there. Highly recommend to anyone.

We live round the corner and to have a bad Indian round the corner in Leicester must be pretty unlucky. Have been a few times, just in case, but every time, very poor. They can not do a no chilli, Indian, which my wife needs and often food is too salty. They need to go to Aspects for superb no chilli food.

Not bad food at all really, we did ask for chips for the kids but they covered them in chilli oil or something ! We wished they didn't !!!!

In town on business I needed some decent curry and followed the few recommendations for this place. It was a good plan. I had a lamb Madras, Tara dall and paratha. About £11.50 all in, with a spoon and a bit of salad too. The dall was smokey and brilliant and the Madras was really tasty and not too hot (got a long meeting tomorrow, so no chicken chilli masala tonight). Excellent food at a good price ... The Midlands at their best. Note that it's takeaway only!
