Sameeha in Blaby

We have recently rediscovered Sameeha after being regulars before lockdown. The staff are all lovely, really friendly and welcoming. The food is beautiful and always nicely presented. Excellent service too. It's a take- your- own alcohol place; as it happens the people I go there with don't drink but it does keep the cost of a night out down if you do. We will definitely be back!

Food was fabulous and it’s a good job it was ….. Sameeha obviously have a great chef which is the plus point to this restaurant because the delivery was absolutely atrocious the owners need to think about this because you will loose customers due to your horrendous deliver drivers.

A very disappointing experience. Ordered online to be delivered via Uber . Order was expected within 40 minutes. It didn’t arrive. I Called and was told it was on the way. 15 minutes later & no order. It finally arrived an hour & 25 minutes from order & was barely warm . All we were told was ‘ there’s a slight issue’ not sure I’d go back again !

Handy local restaurant/takeaway with easy parking. Lovely food, helpful, prompt service. Highly recommended.

Food was lovely but the table next to us was extremely loud and had a bottle of vodka they were drinking and were constantly swearing and no one said anything. It was not a pleasant experience.

Had our 1st takeaway from this restaurant tonight as our usual was busy. Ordered through the website at 7.15pm and was delivered at 8.20pm. Ordered chilli garlic mushroom- was not as expected and boiled mushroom with no flavour, ordered chicken chilli and no spice at all completely bland. Chicken tandoori masala was completely sweet and full of colour, lamb was cooked properly but bland. All of the dishes were raided by onions. The nans were doughy and all of the main dishes above were totally without taste or spice. A total waste of over £30 for terrible food.Massively dissapointed in the service and food. Would will never order from here again and probably the worst curry we have ever had. Might have to re-consider my options

Positive points. Excellent Menu. Will always accommodate menu to personal choice. Food always piping hot. Never had a bad meal. Clean restaurant and toilet. Minor things that would add more ambience to an evening out. The restaurant can be quite cold inside so some heating would be good whilst your waiting for your food. The interior lighting could be lowered to make it more cosy like a restaurant rather than a Bistro feel. The strip lighting outside (not the restaurants fault) is very bright so maybe a pelmet on the inside would hide this unsightly feature. Overall this a an excellent establishment with just a few simple tweets needed.

Ordered a take away through just eat. Food was not as described and overly hot based on menu description. Seems like it was left over from not being sold at weekend as we ordered it on a Monday. Ate some of it but ended up throwing most in the bin. Very disappointed.

Pleasant meal, attentive service the only back ground noise though is the incessant telephone ringing for takeaways, it really never stops and is very annoying

Really dissatisfied with the service tonight. I waited over 2 hours for my order and most was cold when arriving. The best part was when I looked on my app and it told me it was delivered at 18.45. This was the first time I have used this restaurant and definitely the last.

A modern restaurant a little on the Bistro side. Excellent choice on the menu. The food came piping hot and plenty of it which was a real joy. Very nice decor wise, however the air conditioning is a little on the cold side so would suggest a wrap or cardigan. We really enjoyed our evening very much and have been back twice since.

Ordering process excellent, delivery on time with a smile,. Food bland! No flavour, pretty poor actually. Won’t bother again. Shame always want to support local businesses.

We use the Sameeha on a regular basis but haven’t been due to the covid restrictions and have only just gone back to eating there. We went with two friends, and have got to say we all felt really safe with the social distancing measures they have in place. As always the staff and the food was excellent and love the the new additions to the menu.

We’ve ordered from here before and have been happy with the food, but having been told it would take an hour (which I accepted as it was Valentine’s Day), the having phoned to see where the food was over an hour later, to be told it will be another 20 mins - 40 mins later I called - advised it would be another 10 minutes. We gave up and cancelled the order after 2 hours!!!!!! Not good enough.

As my wife and I enjoy Indian food we like to try different venues and for the first visit to this one I would like to commend the staff and chef on first class service and the most excellent food well done to all we will be back

We have made a few visit to Sameeha and always found it fab. When you make a visit Xmas eve, you kinda expect it won't live up to normal expectation. But made for a fab night, with an amazing meal. Thank you for making our Xmas eve.

Ordered a takeaway was told 1 half hours , 2 hours later phoned and they said another 15 minutes..what a joke .

Excellent food at reasonable prices, but staff seem a bit reserved. But the surroundings are excellent and very clean I would definitely recommend.

Small but perfect. We come from Spain to enjoy a fantastic meal in cosy and friendly place. Not licenced so bring your own wine, but there's a shop nearby.

This is top quality, fine-dining Indian cuisine at its best. Wonderful atmosphere, excellent personal service (our group were offered a personalised group menu in the evening, over and above the standard menu) and food you’ve never tasted before. Every visit I’ve made to Sameeha with friends, family, work colleagues - everyone always says it’s amazing. I saw this week that Sameeha Is the best local for fine dining - I really hope they will do continue the best. this place is fantastic, very small though. and always delivers quality food, service and experience. Best place in town.

Great little restaurant nicely decorated and very welcoming, staff are friendly and professional. Fantastic menu so much to choose with amazing specialities and if course all the favourites too. The food was very good indeed served nice and hot and so tasty. It's quite small so you need to book in advance highly recommended.. YUM.

Received one of their promotional flyers so decided to try them instead of our regular takeaway. The menu looked excellent so tried their chicken and cashew nut curry, a korma as well the usual sundries. Chicken and cashew nut had very few cashews in it and apart from a couple of chillies was tasteless. Korma didn't taste the same. Best part was the popadoms. Their garlic mushroom and spinach was tinned mushrooms, that was it. Will not be using them again.

Restaurant had a very homely vibe and the food was absolutely exquisite. Our server, Khalid, went above and beyond to provide us with a memorable experience. Would definitely revisit and recommend!

Small restaurant come take away, only open till 9, this is the same for all the shops on the row, no license,bring your own booze, they will supply glasses and bottle openers, nice decor, cafe style set up, doesn't hold many, the food is great and given you take your own booze the bill is never that expensive. The food is as good as any of the top restaurants in town, just a small cosy venue. On street parking round and about, there is an offsales nearby on the same row or drop in the Tesco Express on the main road if you need beers.you cannot bring your own soft drinks or mixers though. Can be a bit of a wait as it is a take away as well, staff are all lovely and will bag up anything you want to take home if you can't finish it.

Ate here twice during a stay at the nearby Premier Inn, due to the quality of both service and food. This small but friendly restaurant is hidden away in a parade of shops within the Glenfield area and is a short but hilly walk from the main dual carriageway where my hotel was situated. The restaurant is not licensed but fortunately there is a very well stocked convenience store two shops down which is open until 9pm and offers a good range of decent priced wine and beers. The menu here offers a number of speciality dishes different to your usual Indians and everything is cooked to order. The food is prepared and presented well and arrives in decent sized portions. Overall, a superb find and I look forward to returning the next time i.m in the area. Highly recommended.

Our family has been using this restaurant for about a year now.

This is a small restaurant, so it's best to book a table. The food was delicious and two of us had the Lamb Naga which we were warned could be very hot; we therefore had a reduced chilli option, which we both enjoyed. Our companions enjoyed their food too. As others have said no alcohol is served but you can take your own if required. We all had soft drinks which was fine.

Popped in for a meal with hubby. 2 other tables already seated. It took 15 mins to get our first drink! And I had to ask for it. We waited an hour for our mains. We ordered different things but they tasted the same ! Slow service. Unconfident staff. Great that you can take your own wine

Love this place, usually order and collect and they add a discount, there’s loads of choice, cooked on the spot and ready in about 10-15 mins. Haven’t eaten inside the restaurant yet but Always seems busy when I go in. There is also a separate menu you can ask for which is a set menu, also good value!

I visited Sameeha recently with friend. I had no idea that such a gem was hidden away in the village! Fantastic food, great service, good atmosphere. Small and cosy venue. Definitely recommend to all. Bring your own wine. Brilliant evening had by all.

Highly recommended for the good. Like the fact we can take our own drinks. A recommendations though. Could the menu do half portions for kids?

Ok meal staff seem not too interested in anything other than maybe serving you eventually. Have to bring your own drink as well.

Read the reviews and gave it a try as visiting Leicester for the weekend. So glad we did - delicious food and lovely service. Ordered of the specialities menu and each dish was unique and full of flavour. Great that you can bring your own bottle as well!

Very good food, interesting flavours, clean and well presented. close to Glenfield hospital and in a residential area, parking close by. No alcohol served.

The food was delicious, the service was a little lacking. Despite this I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Went to Sameeha and ordered. Sweet chilli chicken and keema rice. Came and was lovely. Cooked to perfection. Fast delivery and the driver was lovely. Great customer service. I would recommend eating here if you would like a takeaway.

Thought I would try this restaurant after googling the reviews. I was my disappointed. The staff were very friendly and the food was of a very high standard. I can't wait to work in Leicester again as I will definitely eat there again.

This is a fantastic restaurant. The food is amazing and great value. Would recommend this place to anyone. Service matches the food. Friendly without being familiar. Great selection for vegetarians unlike 'british" restaurants who have no imagination.

The wife and myself took some friends to the Sameeha,we use it regularly as it's not far from our home, once again the meals were superb and our friends were really impressed. The staff are always welcoming and always ready to help with the menu which is not a large menu but with all the regular things you would expect, and then the Sameeha's specials. It's only a small restaurant but with a great ambience, but the thing I like you take your own alcohol so you drink what you like and not what the restaurant sells they do sell soft drinks though. So if you want a really nice indian meal at a reasonable price I would certainly recommend the Sameeh

Food was really tasty and came in good time considering we had such a large party. Had a takeaway from here in the past aswell which was also really good! Staff are friendly and helpful.

Sameeha is a small restaurant decorated in a contemporary style. The waiters are very friendly and helpful. I wanted the lamb with lentils and I love potatoes in my curries and they were added on request. Lemon rice was not on the menu but they were happy to make it for us. The naans were hot and delicious. They served some unusual dishes along with 'Old favourites'. We had a ginger and date naan which I have never had before. You take your own drink. Very clean well kitted out Ladies toilet. I don't know what the bill was as it was a treat for my husbands 70th birthday!!

I've had a few takeaways and vegetarian I've had pathia and jalfrezis mainly, they always add a good variety of veg and complimentary poppadoms pickles, I've had lamb dishes which have been lovely,

I like this restaurant but was disappointed that all evening we were the only people there, this has happened on a few other visits and therefore there's no atmosphere! Food nice staff friendly and love being able to take own wine as it doesn't have a licence.

Great service and food. Riki was very friendly and helped us decide on what to eat. We tried the lamb with potatoes which he recommended and I must say it was perfection. We will be returning in the new year.

Dont be putoff by the location, small, but well proportioned restaurant. Pleasant decor and excellent Dansak and garlic nan. Staff very pleasant and attentive.

We have eaten in and had a take away and wow! flavoursome, fresh and great value. The restaurant does not have a licence due to the location but there is a shop nearby if you wanted to take your own beer/wine in or as we did took a bottle from home. The staff are great, very polite and offer advice on the menu. the Masala mash stuffed organic mushrooms are to die for. I little gem hidden away in the heart of Glenfield

Having read the good reviews of the restaurant and having browsed their website I tried ordering a delivery. The food was excellent and is highly recommended. Regrettably the member of staff who took the order was impatient and often brusque and plain rude. It is however worth putting up with this to get some great Indian food.

I saw the good reviews and noticed their advertising board locally. We were wanting to find a decent takeaway closer to home so we went along.

First time trying this restaurant since changed hands. Lovely small restaurant. Pleasant decor. Had poppadoms and pickle tray. Asked for lime pickle as an extra which was provided. Pickle tray was plentiful and tasty options. Omitted starters as needed to gauge portions. Excellent chicken madras. Had pilau rice and roti as accompaniments. Finished with coffees and left feeling comfortable. Bring your own alcohol a bonus as costs kept down. Meal for 2 including coffees was under £30. Will definitely return.

The Sameeha is a small indian restaurant in Glenfield on Faire Road which used to called Swatty's. It as been refurbished to a high standard and as a great ambience, but the real change is the food it is absolutely brilliant and the staff are always really pleasant and always helpful with the menu. The wife and I always try and get around there once a week and have took lots of friends who also were quite impressed, would certainly recommend it, don't forget take your own alcohol.

Ordered a takeaway for 6 and we all agreed it was excellent. Having picked up the food the place looked great. Will be back soon for a sit in.

This fabulous little restaurant serves wonderful well cooked Indian cusine .I have been several times and the food is consistently excellent.The staff are very polite and helpful,and prepared to vary the menu to suit our tastes .The prices are very reasonable and you can take your own wine .A little gem in Glenfield !

First visit to this restaurant under new ownership and we were not disappointed.. The staff are very friendly and the food was excellent.

Came here with our 1 year old as they open at 4.30 which for any families you'll appreciate an early meal. Portions generous and service very good. Dishes seem to be more home cooked with fresh ingredients rather than the default stodge you get in a takeaway. Seems each dish was made fresh. Very enjoyable meal and will be back. Wouldn't be surprised if Sameeha makes it to the top 50 in Leicester within a few weeks if not higher. Well worth a visit.

This new restaurant in Glenfield is the twin of the Dining Room in Birstall. Beautifully decorated and finished. Take your own alcohol along. Nice staff and good service, happy to help out with varying dishes if you request anything they may not have on the menu. Give it a try - they do takeaway as well.
