Dipali in Blaby

My go to Indian. Never had a bad meal here. So tasty and great service. However, last night was very, very poor. Prawn Puri was OK, no taste in the prawns. Butter Chicken was bland and no taste at all. Chicken was so chewy. My partner had the Chicken Bhuna, her chicken was the same. We both left it, very dissapointed.

Chicken tikka masala was watery not sure if it’s cause it’s been delivered. But tasted great. The other thing is that it says on just eat that if you order above £25 you get a free side dish and I never did and my order was above £25

Not good! Do not order Tikka Masala, it will be nothing like you expect! Not in a good way!

Have been using this restaurant for year's. Great food, brilliant service always look forward to going there for a family treat 😊

Wow!! Ordered my first takeaway after moving to Blaby. Excellent flavours, & generous portions. I don't have takeaways often but will definitely use Dipali again . I absolutely advise you to try them

I feel I should be even here: a Friday evening visit didn't start well - parking was an issue and when we finally got into an impossibly empty restaurant (at 9:50pm), the elderly gentleman who received us insisted on placing us (my wife and I) at the most undesirable set of seats in the house! OK, so moaning out of the way, now on to the food: extraordinarily brilliant. I had the Duck chilli starter followed by a mixed tandoori and pillau rice was washed down with a pint of Cobra beer. My wife had the chicken pakora then lamb biriyani and a glass of red wine. The service was great (not the elderly gentleman) and the bill for two came to shy of £60: an excellent end to an excellent evening!😀 Ps - the men's toilets are brilliantly decorated fresh and very well kept! Can't speak for the Ladies though.

Delivery was as expected and the food was hot. Unfortunately, the curry was very disappointing. It was very oily and lacked depth of flavour. A clue might be in menu, suggesting that the meat is cooked and then added to a pre-prepared sauce, instead of marinating. The effect is that it resembles an oriental dish, rather than an indian/Bangladeshi one.

Food was excellent best I have had in a long time, although the managers accent was barely understandable apart from that an enjoyable meal especially when the manager arrived with the landline phone to take the card payment.

Had the chicken tikka and the fish curry dish. We had upset stomach shortly after.

Absolutely shameful. We went here a year ago and didn't enjoy it, but thought we'd give it another chance. Was probably worse this time. If you're looking for a decent Indian it would be more worthwhile to wait for the 85 bus into town. We ordered butter chicken, which was just thinner korma and not even stirred through properly; Lamb nihari, which had no depth of flavour, just a spicy tomato base, not a nihari by any stretch of the imagination; and matar paneer, which was just the generic curry base you get with a poor biryani with "some" paneer and a pile of peas. Note the word "some" here, we had 2-3 pieces of paneer each (two of us), 4 very small pieces of chicken tikka, and 4 small pieces of poorly cooked chewy lamb. So not only was it poor quality overall, it was poor quality. This time it we ordered to take away. Took 40 minutes (one would hope to cook the lamb properly... alas) and the staff were not very welcoming or friendly. We gave them a second chance... chances all spent.

Really if to be enjoyed with Asian food , especially Indian, it’s the best place. After trying from everywhere I got this best place. Try it and enjoy 😊

Ordered a takeaway In person, got the meal home. Part of the order was missing. Called them. They replaced the missing item, no apology, just a bad mannered acceptance. Got home, opened and found the wrong curry, the wrong nan and the wrong rice. Found the food quite bland. The service very poor and when i called back no apology. My advice......go somewhere else. There is a lot better service and a lot better food elsewhere. Roll on when the competition reopens

Absolutely poor service. Waited over 2 hours for a takeaway. Spoke to three separate people over the course of trying to find out what was happening with the order only to be told several different time frames, one of which was on its way to then be told it would be another 40 minutes. The food was delivered with a half hearted apology and no compensation other than a curry with a couple of meat chunks in for the dreadful service. Will definitely avoid in the future.

Unfortunately the atmosphere was spoiled by some drunk clients, wanting to swear and fight other diners.

First visit to Dipali, enjoyed a great evening with friends, food was excellent absolutely gorgeous, the staff were very attentive great service definitely go back, also reasonably priced

Been here for 2 hours all there bothered about is the online orders there is 11 only a few of us have had starters in that 2 hours and still waiting for the mains and this for a 89th birthday so poor and not even apologise for the delay we was the first people in here and people get food before us

By far the best Indian take out around us. Food is always piping hot and delicious the quality is the best and staff are always friendly and helpful.

Ate here last night 26th March 2022. When we came in to sit down there was only another 6 customers, 4 of which were near the end of their meals.We were told sorry for the wait between popadoms and starters 30 min wait for the waiter to tell us they were to busy with phone orders.The restaurant was freezing,and other customers loud using inappropriate language.Wont be eating here again.

Thought I would try it again after the refurbishment as used to use many years ago then had bad experience so stop using them....I ordered a takeaway for myself last night told would be with me within the hour....after 1 hrs 10 mins still not arrived rang up and said was on way....20 minster later still not here I live a 5 mins drive....I rang again he said left ages ago and would ring driver and call me back 20 mins later I called them again and he said it had been delivered in said no then 10 mins later it arrived... It was cold and the meat was tough I will be never using them again and wouldn't recommend these to anyone...will stick with who I know

Visited on 1st July. The service was appauling. I had a mixed grill and was very unwell for 3 days. I called the restaurant and received just excuses.a report has been made to the environmental health so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Food was very nice and well presented, the waiting staff were awful not engaging didn't listen and didn't notice we spent most of the night waiting for more drinks when they were empty glasses on the table.

I'm always up for trying somewhere new but this place didn't deliver in more ways than one. Slow service, it took an age to take our order. Poppadom tasted stale as if it was cooked days before, the ingredients in the main over cooked with the only thing going for it the amount of spice (plenty of it!). The chap working the counter needs lessons in customer service, the way he speaks to customers just isn't on. Myself my friend and a customer collecting his takeaway, couldn't help but laugh at the way he spoke to said customer. I wont be rushing back,

Excellent, food so delightful. Cannot fault the dipali. Have never has a bad meal at the restaurant.

Food and service good as we always have experienced. Social distancing and cleanliness respected. They dont serve alcohol any more but they are happy for you to bring your own.

Napoli restaurant in Blaby is all the best restaurants ever been to the service second to none and the staff are very helpful

Just had a great meal here with friends. The restaurant is well spaced out and all social distancing is very good, but most importantly the meal was lovely. Everyone of us really enjoyed the meal and the staff were very friendly and looked after us. Highly recommended and we will be back again.

Never order food to be delivered from here, useless. Drivers do not have a clue and restaurant not interested. Took 45 minutes to drive 1 mile and unable to follow sat nav or phone instructions even when you can see the driver and waving at him. Never order food from here again

Diabolical service, took 45 minutes to deliver food to us when we are 1 mile away. Ordered through app so I know when the food was on it's way. Delivery driver map useless, could not follow instructions on sat nav or from me on the phone despite me standing at gate waving at him. Food luke warm, restaurant not interested in my complaint either. Will never use again

Ordered a takeaway it came quickly so that was good but the two mains we ordered was bland and left a pool of water on the plate! Wont be going back and this was our first one.

Delicious food and helpful staff

Excellence throughout all dishes , service and value. The menu is easy to follow and its clean bright restaurant to eat in. We've also had a takeaway from here and that was superb too. Very friendly staff. We'll be back!

Service is very polite and humble. Dont miss to try veg manchurian, that was an awesome taste. You can try spicy courses like Chana masala Veg kopta Paneer masala Tarka daal

Nice clean bright setting with cheerful waiters The food description in the menu are accurate and reliable. The quality of the food is a real pleasure, but as always we order more than we can manage so end up with a breakfast feast takeaway.

The curry is very expensive for the quality of the food. There are definitely cheaper curry houses nearby that are better quality. The customer service is a bit full on. One time we went and the waiter only spoke to my husband even though we were both sat at the table and splitting the bill. The decor is very tired and the toilets are below the standard you would expect when paying to eat out at a restaurant.

Poor service. Food delivered an hour early, so was cold by the time I got home. Restaurant refused to apologise or issue any kind of refund. Just Eat customer service about as useful as shouting into a well. My curry is cold and tastes of tears.

Food was really good as it usually is from here, only complaint being that they don’t ask you what meat you want in your curry when you check out, so what was supposed to be a chicken tandoori masala was a paneer tandoori masala. The restaurant did change this to chicken however we were told this is not the norm and cannot happen again. Maybe if they asked what you wanted in the curry in the first place, they wouldn’t of had to replace the curry.

Unfortunately the food or service wasn’t to the standard I had hoped for. They made me feel uncomfortable because I used the JustEat app rather than their own app to order the food. Secondly, the chicken was very dry in the balti I received which was a shame.

Disappointed. Food was OK. I ordered a Tandoori Masala which description says contained chicken. Mine did not contain chicken, can only describe perfectly cut cubs of what tasted like soft cheese. I have not rang to complain as the food has been eaten. I won’t be ordering again and would advise people to check that chicken will be used if wanted.

Fancied a curry so popped in early doors Saturday, not busy so no need to book.The place is ok, lacking atmosphere when empty but I suppose that's the same every where.Ordered 2 curries one rice and one nan, I had the chicken pathia, my go to dish, very tasty indeed, I would love to make it but I think it's quite tricky, did say to one of the waiters that, he was a bit short, in response not height.It doesn't get five stars as the portions were small, certainly not take away amounts and to sit in costs more.£27 including 2 beers, not bad.

Ordered 2chicken kormas that where tasteless watery with water swimming around the plate, rang to complain had nothing but rudeness asked to bring it back to prove it was watery did so and got told nothin they can do one bloke must of been the manager was so rude and had no customer service skills will definitely not be ordering from here ever again!!!!

Worst Indian takeaway I've ever had the misfortune of having. 5 days ago I'd had a fine Vindaloo and fancied another but don't drive so went to Dipali, a stone's throw from the flat. Service was good if a little in your face but I was only going to be there 15 minutes. Got home, eagerly unwrapped the curry, Keema naan was under cooked, vindaloo was literally steaming. I love a good hot curry, I occasionally have a Tindaloo but you a) need to taste the meat & b) have heat that hits you in 2 waves. This was throat burning hot, hot poker on your tongue, no taste whatsoever. The meat was undercooked, I wouldn't be surprised if it was off. Avoid, avoid, avoid thricely. Far better curry houses in Leicestershire for less money who cook meat properly and season correctly. How this place gets good reviews is utterly beyond me.

Our food arrived late, the driver then rang us to say that he couldn’t find the house (even though we’ve had deliveries from this restaurant many times before) and we then had to go out in the rain to find the driver to collect our food. Was less than satisfied, however the food is great.

Went for a birthday meal with my family and the service was not brilliant. Over price . I have had better Indian meals from Tesco's... For a restaurant in the village should be a lot better for the people in the community..Aslo needs a revamp.. wouldn't recommend this place to anyone...

Was bought a gift voucher for Christmas that expired at the end of March. Arrived at restaurant end of February and told voucher was invalid by 3 members of staff. After questioning this, was told they would honour the voucher that clearly shows it is one of their vouchers and does not expire till end of March,but felt so uncomfortable decided to leave the restaurant and will never return for takeaway or meal inside. Very poor that they would take money from customers buying vouchers in advance and they not honour them in good faith.

Lovely curry. The best we’ve had two times running. Both times was over 15 minutes early which was fine as we were in but wouldn’t be good if we weren’t back.

Very nice food, order was slightly wrong when they forgot the spicy popadoms that I ordered. More attention needs to be observed when orders are sent out.

Food was lovely, my only complaint (although not really a complaint) was that my food was not particularly hot but not sure if that is because I had tandoori rather than a saucy main. However I will order again and realise it is time to dine in again as the food is excellent

Came to our rescue at 1030pm when the city centre restaurants we were close to had all stopped serving. Great to know a local venue serves til late. Very tasty and spicy food. I wasn't a huge fan of the naan which lacked a bit of fluffiness otherwise I would have gone for 5 stars. Friendly staff too

The food was tasty but prior to pressing ‘order’ the delivery time was suggested as 50 mins. However once Dipali accepted the order the delivery was estimated at 80 mins which is significantly later

Great food, decent price and turned up earlier than expected.

Fantastic food and service. We order from Dipali all the time and they are great. Much better than Chamalee which upset my stomach when I ordered the same food from them.

We live locally and visit fairly frequently. Friendly staff and good curry, they will make you whatever you like even if it's not on the menu or want a hotter/cooler variation.
