Used you for 10 years todays was awful

Went to dipali on Tuesday 4th March with family (15 of us) meals were good but when it came to paying the bill they had added it up wrong, we worked out approx £20 over so we were not happy about that. As we were leaving my niece noticed outside up high above the window it said they offer a set menu Sun-Thur for £16.95 offering any starter any main with naan or rice. We were not offered this set menu, only given the main menu when we ordered, we hadn't noticed the sign outside when we entered as it is quite high. When we questioned with them, why had we not been offered this set menu at the time of ordering, their responce was "you should of asked" why should you have to ask, we didn't know they did it, surely it should be up to them to offer the set menu to the customer, one of the men that we were talking to even laughed ! After much arguing we were offered £5 cash cash back at this point i laughed at him, they then offered £10. We did ask when ordering if the Balti curry comes with rice or naan and were told NO, even at that point we were still not offered the set menu. With us being a booking of 15 people we would of chosen the set menu and saved approx £30 and all of us would of had starters. We will never go back there on principal as there attitude was absolutely appaling, why have a set menu if you're not going to offer it and make the customer aware of it. AVOID THIS INDIAN RESTAURANT..............................................

Fuimos a dipali el martes 4 de marzo con la familia (15 de nosotros) las comidas eran buenas, pero cuando se trataba de pagar la cuenta que lo habían sumado mal, hicimos unos 20 libras más, así que no estábamos contentos con eso. Cuando nos íbamos, mi sobrina notó afuera arriba por encima de la ventana que decía que ofrecen un menú fijo de domingo a jueves por £ 16. 95 ofreciendo cualquier entrante cualquier principal con naan o arroz. No nos ofrecieron este menú establecido, solo que dado el menú principal cuando pedimos, no habíamos notado cartel fuera cuando entramos como es bastante alto. Cuando preguntamos con ellos, ¿por qué no nos habían ofrecido este menú fijo en el momento de hacer el pedido, su respuesta fue "deberías de preguntar" por qué tendrías que preguntar no sabíamos que lo hacían, seguramente debería ser de ellos de ofrecer el menú fijo al cliente, uno de los hombres con los que estábamos hablando incluso se rió ! Después de mucho discutir que nos ofrecieron £ 5 en efectivo de vuelta en ese momento me reí de él, entonces ofreció £ 10 . Nosotros sí preguntamos cuando ordeamos si el curry Balti viene con arroz o naan y nos dijeron que no, incluso en ese momento todavía no nos ofrecieron el menú establecido. Con nosotros siendo una reserva de 15 personas habríamos elegido el menú establecido y ahorrado aproximadamente £ 30 y todos nosotros habríamos tenido entrantes. Nunca volveremos allí en principio, ya que la actitud era absolutamente terrible, por qué tener un menú establecido si no lo vas a ofrecer y hacer que el cliente sea consciente de ello. Don’t bother! We’ve been regular customers for nearly 10 years and the last 2-3 visits have been a big let down. Driver thrust this explosion in to our hands and legged it. On calling the restaurant they told me everyone’s gone home and couldn’t help…….. an hour before advertised closed time. I guess we won’t be celebrating our wedding anniversary with a curry tonight.

The man who answered the phone was totally ignorent no manners at all.... . Don't understand much what you are saying. Chips were freezing cold not had bad food from there ever tbh. But it puts u off ringing up

Horrible comida sosa, salsa de menta sabía como si la crema estuviera apagada, pollo con mantequilla era granulado sin color o sabor, me gasté £ 80 en una comida para llevar y tenía cero especias en nada, honestamente recuerdo mis cenas escolares sabiendo mejor que esto ... por favor evite este lugar a toda costa. Voy a pegar también aspectos en Enderby que es 1000 × mejor que esta miserable excusa patética para un indio 🤢🤮 La comida para perros más cara que he comprado.

Ordered a Pickle tray and received 3x mint sauce and 1 chutney- nothing else that was shown in the picture. Food had hardly any spice for what we were expecting, will not be ordering from here again and will stick with aspects in Enderby.

Ordered at 1915 and food finally arrived just after 2200. Spoke to the restaurant several times - was told it was on its way only to ring them half an hour later to be told it was still on its way- the restaurant is 5 minutes away! Had all the children waiting to play board games ‘after dinner’.. just an absolute joke!

Amazing food! Great value for money as well as one of the best curries I have had recently! Will definitely be ordering again!

Naan bread missing so we had to mess about cooking extra rice while the food was being kept warm - getting dried out. And then had to try and get a refund sorted. Not what we had planned for a relaxing evening. :(

First time ordering online for a delivery, website was very easy to use especially given the vast range of curries etc, we ordered separate dishes for all three of us and we all tasted each others and all tasted very different from each other and were tasty! Ohhhh the delivery driver was a few minutes early!

Ordered a lamb madras, the lamb was so tender and delicious. Couldn’t fault any of it 👏🏻

Tried to order online and had issues with the website when I finally got it ordered and collected was told a higher price than the website naan bread wasn’t fresh the cheese naan just had a small bit of red cheese on it and didn’t even taste of it. The jalfrezi was not nice, veg was hard, chicken tasted off and the sauce wasn’t nice, the papadams were stale and naan wasn’t fresh. As I’m writing this I’m not feeling well. Wouldn’t recommend at all and next time will go to my usual Indian takeaway in south wigston. Avoid this place

Tried several times to order online but couldn't as "website was down". This was clearly an excuse. Eventually placed order over phone. On arrival, owner was arguing over phone with customer. Was kept waiting then when takeaway food arrived was charged £5 more than website said. Owner said website no longer relevant. Food was horrible. Poppadoms wet and stale, cheesy naan had only teaspoon cheese and curry tasted "odd". Apparently, recent reviews have identified this takeaway as the source of their food poisoning! Wish us luck! 🤞 Won't ever be buying "food" from here again!

Ordered and paid on their website. Got home after collection and they hadn't put in 1 rice and 1 nan that I ordered. When I called they said it didn't show on their print out. They have not seemed welcoming and slightly grateful for sometime and they offered to make me them for collection but I was 20 minutes drive away. They said they didn't know how to refund my Google pay . The food taste is now lower than average and lots of sauce with small amounts of chicken. I will avoid them at all costs from now on.

Received menu through door and thought I'd try as a change. Ordered through advertised online providers, but waited ages for order to be confirmed. When I got fed up of waiting I phoned the land line to be told there was a gas leak and they couldn't complete my order. Cadent website showed no issues, so either something was lost in translation and they meant the gas supply was off. Anyway, they told me they couldn't complete my order! Why allow people to order? Just close the online portals?! Potential customer lost, perhaps I should have guessed by the fact they were having to mail drop.

Please read requests on people's doors. It's rude to ignore and post flyers when we have asked politely not to have any junk mail. 3 stars.

I did try and call the restaurant but they were closed, then looked for an email address but couldn’t find one so here I am! The food took about 45 mins to arrive, I thought this was reasonable and the driver was friendly. Unfortunately, the food was awful, I ordered a garlic chilli lamb, mushroom rice, cheese and chilli naan and chips. The lamb was ridiculously chewy and flavourless, the curry was unseasoned and bland, there were a few raw chilli’s chucked in which were unpleasant to come across. The mushrooms in the rice were pre-sliced at a guess and very rubbery and undercooked. The chips were soggy and cold. Finally the naan bread was the smallest naan bread I have ever seen and it was dry! My description of the food is as accurate as I can be, despite how bad it was, I think I’ve actually been quite generous! Maybe it’s better if you eat in but I would personally avoid like the plague!

Ate here yesterday and although the food was lovely and hot (although to be honest, much spicier than described!) the service was abysmal. The waiters were rude, we felt very rushed and as though they didn’t want us to be there. We were also charged £2 for tap water and £13 for 8 poppadoms and dip which seems extremely steep. Will not be returning, there are plenty of other Indian restaurants in the area with much nicer service and good food.

Order was short of items. When I called restarant, the staff member who answered was unhelpful and I was left dissatisfied, however this is the first time I've had cause to complain as Dipali is generally reliable both in terms of food quality and service.

My go to Indian. Never had a bad meal here. So tasty and great service. However, last night was very, very poor. Prawn Puri was OK, no taste in the prawns. Butter Chicken was bland and no taste at all. Chicken was so chewy. My partner had the Chicken Bhuna, her chicken was the same. We both left it, very dissapointed.

Chicken tikka masala was watery not sure if it’s cause it’s been delivered. But tasted great. The other thing is that it says on just eat that if you order above £25 you get a free side dish and I never did and my order was above £25

Just had a superb and tasty Madras, while the Mrs had the Biryani. Naan and rice bang on. Can't recommend highly enough.

Wow!! Ordered my first takeaway after moving to Blaby. Excellent flavours, & generous portions. I don't have takeaways often but will definitely use Dipali again . I absolutely advise you to try them

Good tasty food - a bit cold on delivery arrival.

Unfortunately, the delivery driver did not read our note on the order asking them not to knock as our children were asleep in bed, woke them up but hey, the food was tasty. Shame we didn’t get poppadoms and chutney after spending £36 which you would get free elsewhere.

being honest I loved this place never went wrong but this time was awful, freezing cold and spilled everywhere in bag and delivery driver was rude and emailed just eat and they havnt even emailed back, quick enough to take the money though!

I feel I should be even here: a Friday evening visit didn't start well - parking was an issue and when we finally got into an impossibly empty restaurant (at 9:50pm), the elderly gentleman who received us insisted on placing us (my wife and I) at the most undesirable set of seats in the house! OK, so moaning out of the way, now on to the food: extraordinarily brilliant. I had the Duck chilli starter followed by a mixed tandoori and pillau rice was washed down with a pint of Cobra beer. My wife had the chicken pakora then lamb biriyani and a glass of red wine. The service was great (not the elderly gentleman) and the bill for two came to shy of £60: an excellent end to an excellent evening!😀 Ps - the men's toilets are brilliantly decorated fresh and very well kept! Can't speak for the Ladies though.

Amazing food. One of the best curries I’ve ever had.

Delivery was as expected and the food was hot. Unfortunately, the curry was very disappointing. It was very oily and lacked depth of flavour. A clue might be in menu, suggesting that the meat is cooked and then added to a pre-prepared sauce, instead of marinating. The effect is that it resembles an oriental dish, rather than an indian/Bangladeshi one.

Food was excellent best I have had in a long time, although the managers accent was barely understandable apart from that an enjoyable meal especially when the manager arrived with the landline phone to take the card payment.

Really great takeaway, always arrives hot and everything is very tasty. A real fish curry specialist! I’m not sure all chicken had to be tandoori chicken, but apart from that - the best Indian takeaway for us by far! And we’ve tried them all!

Great food, only slight issue was the onion baji was a bit tough, but we travelled around 15 mins so appreciate that, great food!

I’m not actually sure what time the delivery was ‘due’ but the restaurant had not passed my note on to the driver! Which has the directions on as we’re rural and the post code doesn’t work. Therefore I spent more than 20 mins on the phone trying to explain to the driver where to go, I could see where he was sat and I was trying to explain to him to turn left down the hill, sadly he didn’t understand any English and my partner ended up having to drive to him, at the top of the hill half a mile away, to collect it. I paid for delivery and still collected it! The food was nice however, and not as cold as I thought it would be, but sadly the delivery experience means we probably won’t order again.

We ordered butter chicken, which was just thinner korma and not even stirred through properly; Lamb nihari, which had no depth of flavour, just a spicy tomato base, not a nihari by any stretch of the imagination; and matar paneer, which was just the generic curry base you get with a poor biryani with "some" paneer and a pile of peas. Note the word "some" here, we had 2-3 pieces of paneer each (two of us), 4 very small pieces of chicken tikka, and 4 small pieces of poorly cooked chewy lamb. So not only was it poor quality overall, it was poor quality. This time it we ordered to take away. Took 40 minutes (one would hope to cook the lamb properly... alas) and the staff were not very welcoming or friendly. We gave them a second chance... chances all spent.

Very tasty and all sorted very easily

Really if to be enjoyed with Asian food , especially Indian, it’s the best place. After trying from everywhere I got this best place. Try it and enjoy 😊
