Had lamb chops which were so chewy and couldn't be eaten , possibly suspect they were sheep. Had sizzler which lacked flavour and chicken tikka which had a sticky sweet sauce and huge chunks of onions and red pepper rather than chicken. Very disappointed! Wouldn't have again.

This is the second time we’ve visited and the food is really tasty but unfortunately the waiting staff ruin the experience. We ordered a range of dishes and they were really tasty. Unfortunately, the staff were constantly hovering around us, and were clearing our plates away before we even finished. We felt like we couldn’t relax, as they were constantly watching us like security guards. They are just trying their best and want to do a good job buts it’s just a bit too much. We tried to let the waiter know we’d prefer to finish our food before they take our plates away, but he didn’t understand what we were saying due to a language barrier.

We have been going to this place for years and the food has been good. We are vegetarians and the paneer is excellent. However, the standards have started to drop. It is a very busy place so I feel they have started to cut corners. The mix vegetable was gone off, I let it go once, then last night it was gone off. The Daal makhni was clearly few days old and re cooked. It was yellow and thought they accidentally gave us tarhka daal. I would no longer order food from there. if you eat in food s OK. Indo Chinese veggie food is good. There are many other better places.

I ordered the boneless grill, which had chicken tikka, tandoori chicken and sheekh kebabs pieces but the chicken wasn’t breast pieces very rubbery texture and had little bits of bone in it, very disappointing! To top it off it came to our table within 5 minutes of ordering so it clearly wasn’t freshly made 🤦🏽‍♀️😡

It is a 1 because the service was very bad and slow. Me and my family went into there pre ordered for a table of 10. When we went in there, the atmosphere was chaotic with babies crying, people shouting and others talking! Our table was very bad as it only sat 6 and the bar was above our heads! They did offer to get us another table but by that time we were fed up and left the place going elsewhere to eat!

Our Family love the place very kind staff and very caring ❤️. Definitely recommend for families or great for occasions or just to go out ! Very pleased with the service aswell 😊

Probably the most visually off putting restaurant I’ve ever visited. The whole place is filthy, the tv screens covered in greasy handprints. There was even a dead moth and fly hanging above our table off a fire exit light above the door. Beneath the table were rentokil traps either for rats or cockroaches. You would expect to see these outside but not inside a restaurant! The toilets were filthy and the floor practically sticky to walk on, I felt like I needed to go home and wash myself in bleach. No excuse really for letting it get into this mess when people are paying good money to eat in there. The plates seemed so greasy and grubby like they had been wiped rather than washed. I politely picked at the food as to not offend friends. Now I’m worried I am going to be sick as I have stomach pains.

Been ordering from here a few times as can't be asked to drive to better places and they do delivery. But honestly one of the worst chicken tikka masalas I have had in my entire life. Tasted like tomato soup. Funnily enough my family went there week before with other friends and they said exactly the same things. Other food wasn't great either Defo don't think I will be going back

Food was amazing very tasty and lots of it,the down side is the place could do with a good clean tables menus all dirty and the toilets were disgusting

Absolutely rubbish and tasteless food. Came here with my friends to eat, ordered the mixed grill sizzler and was extremely disappointed. Everything was bland and the kebabs were stone hard and cold. Would not recommend this place to anyone!

My wife and I were travelling from Canada and were attending a Family Lunch for 24 people with predetermined menu. Manager Laxman was very accommodating to meet the special need of some Vegan guests. Taking his lead, all staff attending us were attentive, friendly and courteous. Vegetarian or Non Vegetarian - food quality was excellent. The way the food was flowing , not to mention drinks too, that lasted for over two hours. All very enjoyable. Well done Indian Chef at 3 Kilns.

Disappointing after many very good experiences. Ordered a dish that was not on the menu but was assured it can be made. Lamb Tawa was was no wa near what a Tawa shoub be. Let staff and kitchen know.

1st time, heard alot about this place from family and it certainly delivered. Food was very tasty and generous portion. Staff very very polite and helpful. Great family atmosphere. Will be regular for sure

Went to this place first time last night, after the place we wanted to go to was closed. Heard good things. Was very disappointed with the quality of the food and I've got the runs today because of it, then the cherry on top was being overcharged for my drinks. Waiters wouldn't even touch the taps in toilets, so added to how unclean it was.tables were sticky and unkept. Will never be going back there again. Not great food or drinks. I will never come again

We visited the place after it has now been sold to a new owner. The beers and soft drinks all tasted as they have been severely watered down.

I recently visited to the Indian chef restaurant by ordering food via just eat. I am delighted with the service you guys provided. Food was awesome with very reasonable price. I would highly recommend everyone to visit there again and again. Keep it up your good work guys.

Friends and family of management get priority and no idea of keeping customers welfare and health safety during covid times a priority except keep filling tables and keep the tills ringing what a greedy owner on that basis no matter how good the food is we will not be going there again and greed is always judged with your karma

The restaurant is trying to adapt to new Covid 19 regulations with 1 way systems, hand sanitizers & screens. A few of the waiters still need to wear their masks correctly and keep the >1m distance. For the food we ordered Lamb chops which was probably the highlight of the meal. Good tender meat with great flavours. We also had the fish as a starter which was ok. For mains we ordered a large chicken curry to share for two with a couple of naans. Again good taste and quality. Total of the meal was over £42 which we felt was expensive for the location and amount of food. Fortunately the eat out to help out reduced it. Worth a visit again but only if there were offers on.

so after hearing that Sach shah caught covid and sold the pub and restaurant to a punjabi guy, my friends and I went to the Indian chef.The place had a fresh new atmosphere, no rubbish service, no small portions.This new owner has had previous pubs and restaurants and definitely knows his game, where as sach Shah was a novice with no brains at all and only interested in small portions and terrible drinks at high prices, Google the pirate bar Leicester for all sach reviews. Anyway the Indian chef has changed.We ordered Indian lamb curry, chicken curry and surf and turf. All were presented and tasted like top Indian restaurants. Just shows what a real owner with experience can do.This new owner said he is changing the beer line up to include coors lite,.Big portions nice prices.Still got some old staff from sach ,but they will all go with new staff lined up.Heard that sach Shah has opened a food shop on Loughborough Rd, dont know why, guy can't cook, or have a P up in a brewery. Sad person peanut seller.New place and owner brilliant Food brilliant Pub side still needs a lot of work

How on Earth anyone can rate this place less than 4 *'s is beyond me. The food is of the highest standard with an amazing variety on the menu. My favourite dish is the Chef's lamb Kathmandu with Keema rice. Yes, the prices are top end, but so is the food so it's worth it. Great venue, very warm, nice seating with good tables. Service is faultless. The head waiter is worth is weight in gold. Any issues resolved immediately. 5 stars from me. Best in Leicester and I've been to dozens of Indian restaurants. Keep doing what you do

Had a fabulous dinner with the extended family today for my father’s birthday ... service was professional, efficient and friendly and the food exceptional. Now considering this is Leicester with the vast verity of Indian restaurants and eateries this is no small compliment!! The garlic nan and surf ‘n’ turf starter were particularly good and they are remarkably child friendly. Thank you to all of the staff and we very much look forward to our next visit when we are next in Leicester :) Just Superb!

Was really hesitant about eating here from the outside the place isn’t the most appealing but an impromtu visit for a quick drink turned into a nice family meal. We ordered starters and they did not disappoint. Portions were a good size and food was really yummy and not too heavily spiced. Really enjoyed everything we tried from the Chili Okra which i know regret not getting a whole portion for myself to the surf and turf mixed grill and keema nan! Loved it all! Definitely recommend

Went today for my birthday and the food was really good both veg and the lamb was on point. Nice service do separate orders for starters and mains.

We ate out here with a group of nine last Saturday night and I can honestly say it was one of the most enjoyable meals out we have had in a long time. Could have been the company too, but the food has to take a bow. All the usual Indian dishes plus lots of extra options and some interesting African inspired versions. I've not see Daal Makhani on a menu for ages, and it was beautifully cooked.The service was fine for a very busy evening - the place filled up and by 8pm there was not a table free - and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. It's a good, friendly eatery with a great family atmosphere.

Just called in for a drink tonight. The atmosphere was so warm and friendly and we met an old friend who we knew from the Paprika. The mixed grill was delicious and fresh and the wine was very good. Will definitely be back with friends.

Had a meal on 27th July. Party of 22 people celebrating pre wedding for our nephew. First visit for me and hubby at this place. Excellent food great service and a very pleasant atmosphere. Definitely recommend this pub. Special mention to one particular lady who served our drinks and food but can't remember her name, English lady with dark brown hair in a bun. She was very efficient and always had a smile on her face. By the way the peri chicken wings were so tasty. Go peeps to this place you won't be disappointed.

Been here quite a few times in the past and always gave them the benefit of doubt as their food's always been great! Visited with guests from Kenya in July and must say I was purely embarrassed to have brought them to such a place.The service was beyond pathetic. Even though booked in advance no table was available and we had to sit in the bar area with young kids!! Even after going up to them 3 times, no one bothered to come and take our order. We had to also keep an eye out for a table in main restaurant as they kept giving them to new customers!! Thanks to a couple of considerate people who moved to smaller tables to give us space to sit on one table together. Will not be visiting here again or recommend it at all.

I like the food here it's pretty decent....however the place is a sauna!! No air flow, no AC this place is in need of some serious upgrade! I enjoy a good curry but not eating it in a place where its in excess of 30+deg. Overall food is good!

We booked a table for 7, got there early,first the drinks were off, so the bar woman served us again, she kept on coughing and sneezing. I asked her if she had a cold and she said it's really cold here to work, in June.

The biggest problem is it’s a restaurant in a pub and they are separate businesses ...on the pub side the staff are ignorant arrogant and don’t give a monkeys about you...booked a table for four..got there and was told only one two seater table available and to go and sit round that, when we refused we were told that’s all we have...so tuff...we were then told by another member of bar staff to go sit in the bar area...after five minutes in which we were contemplating whether to leave or not a member of the restaurant staff came and found us and led us to a proper table ...the bar girl came over just stood there and said nothing when we said yes to her she just blurted out ‘drinks ‘ in an aggressive manor...as she was taking our order she was sighing and looking out the window..Such a bad attitude......onto the food starters were ok but nothing to talk about curries were bland and uninteresting apart from the Kathmandu curry which was very nice...

Hired The back room on Saturday 8th June 2019 for a private ladies night.

Went here because it was recommended by a friend. What a mistake that was. Bar staff was rude and uninterested. Waited ages for a table even though there were so many empty tables. When we given one, we're simply told to go and sit there.

Met a mate here for some food and was really impressed with the quality. It was fairly busy but we found a table in the second room where they put the football on for us too.

Been few times . The bar area is best place to book, food is very good , good atmosphere and excellent value.

This was a great night out. Very good food in a pub setting. We were lucky that some of the lads eat here so instead of sorting individual starters and mains we had a mixture. I strongly recommend the pepper fish. Top night out.

Went with some friends to the restaurant. Excellent food, inexpensive. It was a very enjoyable evening. They need to be better organised in taking orders.

Every time I have family over I can always really on the kilns. The owner is so accommodating. Always a welcome. He always make it a personal thing to say hello to all customers. The way it should be. The food and service are excellent. So so tasty. Prices on par with other pub restaurants but the amount of food and quality are better here. All round family favourite for the Patels. Thank you

The food was absolutely outstanding but unfortunately the service let our experience down. There was no cider and the barmaid needs educating on the difference between wines on offer. A good spring clean wouldn’t go amiss either.

After a visit with family we experienced both poor service and food. Slow responses from waiters, below par food and an average atmosphere.

A wise young Josh Devlin said “Over the last two years I’ve been travelling the city trying to find the perfect curry. And by gum, I think we’ve found it. This was no lie, they boast generous sizzlers, not for the faint tongue. The curries were flavoursome, not just a uniform sauce they use for all dishes. Rice portions were huge, easily shared between two. I was impressed with the array of lagers on offer, Tusker, the Kenyan beer was a fans fave! Goan curry highly recommend! Shout out to the lad in the tigers top with his curry down him! Lol.

Good and tasty spicy vegetarian Bitings and main dishes. Chilly mogo, hot potatoes, sizzler, mixed grill , poussin Chips, crispy okra, dal Makhni, mutter paneer, vegetable jalfrezi etc etc were simply awesome. served with variety of hotly served naans. Service was slow.Dining chairs need to be replaced. Enjoyed the experience at the Pub which also serves Indian curries - both veg and non vegetarian. Having visited this place with some friends the place isn't bad, the food is ok at best. We ordered a mix grill, and to our suprise it was with us in 5 mins! Also the mains were the same. The food was loop warm at best. The next day the food took it's toll on 3 out of 4 of us. Safe to say we will not be visiting this place again.

My 2nd return to this restaurant in 2018. Still fingerlicking delicious flavoured spiced food. The Surf 'n' Turf is a special treat of chicken and lamb. If you would like to have another variaty it can be asked for.

This is a pub/restaurant which works very well in deed food is great staff are friendly and the food is very reasonable priced as well next time we go we are going to try the Sunday buffet at £10.99 Yes all you can eat at that price I think it's great will go again

Me and my friend attended this venue with the intention of eating there.

Firstly I checked the scores on the door before I came to this place, needless to say it has 5 :) on arrival I was still abit apprehensive due to the location (the outside does need attention). The full carpark was reassuring but when I entered I was pleasently surprised, the layout was great - a decent amount of space for everyone to enjoy. The staff were very nice and attentive, however they were extremely busy so the service did lapse slightly. On each course the plates starters and mains the plates were HOT! Yes!

Took a chance on this one with the good lady and wasn't disappointed. Food plentiful and reasonably priced. Had a lovely chilli paneer starter - best I've had, then a chicken dish with Eastern African influences which was very tasty. My wife had prawn curry which was nicely spiced and full of prawns. Will definitely return, maybe for Sunday buffet. Staff genuinely friendly too. Unless you want real class (this is a pub!) I'd recommend this to one and all.

If you fancy having a curry in a rundown boozer Wetherspoons would be ashamed of, then this is the place for you. Staff are friendly enough and the food was ok, but I wouldn’t want to go again.

Although they have a function room/restaurant, there is something about eating an Indian meal in a pub - the environment doesn't matter, you are judging your experience on the strength of the food only. Luckily the food is excellent with specialities such as Kathmandu Chicken, Black Pepper Fish and the mountainous mixed grill starters. On a weekend the Indian Chef is full of Indian groups and families which is a great endorsement in itself for the food as well as providing a nice buzzy atmosphere.

on saturday we ordered a takeaway which was large mix grill shish kebabs rice and a nan plus indian gravy. well it has to be said that the food was excellent ,service excellent, friendly staff ,great value for money meal ready on time.

Visited here a couple of days ago with work friends. It is quite busy on a Friday evening as was expected.

We visited the restaurant and it wasn’t too busy, there was us and another 2 families. Order was taken in a timely manor but the time it took for the starters to come out was a bit long but then you know that the food is being freshly cooked. The quality wasn’t too bad, the chilli Paneer was really nice as was the crispy chilli okra (which was not crispy at all and as it was cut okra in a sauce but was nice). We then had to wait over 30 minutes to order the mains and we had to ask the waiter several times to come take our order. One would think it’s because the restaurant must’ve been so busy as it took so long to take the order for mains; it wasn’t, there was still the two other families. Unfortunately the waiter was really busy talking to his colleagues!! Eventually we received our mains but they clearly forgot to make one of the dishes and after getting the attention of the waiter we finally brought to his attention that we were one dish short. Not once did he apologise for the mistakes, he was actually rather rude and abrupt with me. It felt like we were a burden or a hassle for him to be serving us and that we were disturbing him from having a conversation with his colleagues!! Eventually we received our dish and it was amazing!! Wasn’t spicy as we asked but it still tasted really nice. I then had to request the bill 3 times and after 15 minutes it finally arrived and then once I paid for the drinks (on a sore rate terminal to where they take money for the food) the waiter asked why I was not leaving a tip!!! I left him a tip; to take a little pride in his work and maybe take a class in basic customer services!!!

Came here by a recommendation. Driving over three hours to get here and was treated with some much respect from the waiter Laxman! The food was incredible from starters to main. Even had king fisher on tap! Highly recommended and will certainly be visiting in the near future.

Recently found this restaurant and have been back several times with different friends-all have agreed how lovely the food is - my favourite is the black pepper fish starter, which is served in a massive portion big enough for 2 or 3 to share. Everything I've tried has been great though. Staff are friendly and the surroundings are pleasant - they've kept the pub layout but clean and nicely decorated.

1st time to the pub with friends, food was very good value for money,very clean and comfortable inside.Only tip I can give you when ordering drinks pay for them as you order them ,keep a eye on what you have ordered small problems with bill but did not spoil a great evening.

Had a stop over from Liverpool and decided to revisit. The staff once again had been great and the food was once again excellent. Keep it up!

I went after reading all these great reviews on trip advisor and was deeply disappointed. The place was very average and it can be marketed at the lower end of the curry pub scene. The prices are very cheap and maybe that is their market.

I visited mid October, and we utilised the venue for our Civil Reception! From the start, the service that we received was to the highest standard, and everything we request was fulfilled!

Just came out from here. Me and my mrs felt a steak day! And decided to give this place a try. Pleasantly surprised! Steak was cooked to perfection, a brilliant medium rare surloin topped with a splendid garlic and chilli sauce with a side sauce of mushroom sauce. Really recommend this place. Service was brilliant and the girl who served us wearing a scarf was brilliant and professional who recommended items on the menu on her own personal experience and was honest to tell us about items she had not tried and wouldn't be able to recommend. My wife has south african roots and really knows her steak, so for her to be impressed is definitely worth something. I wish you all the luck and Im positive this place is up there with leicesters finest steak places.

Went with friends and not disappointed. Jalfreizi chicken one of the best I tasted but nan bread was a bit thin. Overall a good experience and would go again.

We went here for our nephews 21st birthday party. The food was very good. The service was even better. Right form the time I called to make the booking to the time we left we were very well looked after.

I came for the first time with friends 6 weeks ago and was bowled over by the food. Booked again for tonight with my partner and kids as it's my birthday, but after an unfortunate incident with putting an ironing board away in the same cupboard the electricity supply comes into the house, we were faced with a night of constant backwards and forwards by Western Power and whinging children with no internet or tv. I therefore had to cancel the table but booked a takeaway. It turned up bang on time, piping hot, stunningly tasty, and with a bottle of wine and happy birthday wishes for me!! Can't wait to visit them again - faultless!!

Especially dropped by from the Netherlands because of the amazing outstanding flavours the food has. Ordered the Surf and Turf with Pilau rice with Naan bread. OMG finkerlicking delicious it was. Too much for 2 people so we got the leftover in a bag too enjoy again at home.

First time I have been to 3 kilns, the service was very slow and it took 45 minutes to a hour waiting for our mains. The waiter brought a dish we did not order, and he could have been a bit friendly. However the wait was worth it as the food was amazing. Will defiantly return, but service needs improving.

Dishes are bland- bordering on tasteless. We were surprised to learn they didn't serve dessert. Further surprise- they don't serve mango lassi at the weekend! Will not be returning.

Party of 10 went Thursday night food was spot on amazing sizzlers, curry's also very good, Lamb dishes superb! That good had to have a takeaway the day after!👍👍

We went with family. It was really enjoybale evening experience. Food was really authentic as well as service was 5 star. I would highly recommended this place to try... Definitely we will come again with more friends and family.

I planned and organised my dads surprise birthday at 3 kilns. The venue was perfect the staff and owner were very helpful and went the extra mile to make special for my dad. The food was amazing!! We ordered the veg option and it was an absolute delight! Thanks you to the staff and owner for an unforgettable evening.

Had fabulous sizzlers out there with half pints of Red Stripes (jamaican beer) and very good environment. They have very fair prices and if you feel like playing pool, there is always some someone to play with. Very kind and dilligent staff. Highly recommended to anyone that likes to taste a good sizzler in Leicester.

Visited The Indian Chef after friends recommended it and I was amazed at the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The food is authentic and at such a reasonable price. Drinks are priced low and are fresh from the tap. Would recommend everyone to visit the establishment.

Last Friday I went there with my couple of friend when I enter it seems like a pub but but when we look the menu we decided to eat and order some starter tandoori mix gril,fish pakora chilly chicken really good was great no any complain I love tandoori mix grill specially hariyali chicken tikka after starter we order few main like chicken Kathmandu,daal makhani I love both I never had dal makhnai before like that,just one thing food was slightly hot but waiter told that they can make as we request so that not big issue I really recommend there only one thing they need to improve no any sign from out side there is a restaurant.i hope they will make

Visited this place yesterday on a spur of the moment. The food is excellent , the mixed grill and crispy bhaji and chilli chicken awesome. The drinks are reasonable priced. The curries are very good, try the lamb rogan josh and the software nans. Great service, will visit again

Went to this place last week, I heard they have a new chef, and a new menu! The food was AMAZING!!!!! Service was also amazing!! I'm confused with the bad reviews because my experience was absolutely fantastic!! Definitely recommend people to go and try the food!

New chef and the food is delicious. Eaten by all in the family, the food was not overly spicy but s delicate mix of flavours. We will definitely return and definitely recommend this place.

Besides good food and drink it is refreshing to have owners who mingle with the customers and are friendly. Many places in Leicester have become robotic and the places are run on such an impersonal manner that it is hard to enjoy your meal out when orders are taken by non smiling unfriendly passionless humans who are just doing a job and don't give a s**t about it at all. Best way to lose customers I think.

Ive been to eat here a handful of times. Being honest the place is old and needs a bit of a revamp, on the plus side staff are friendly atmosphere is decent and food is edible. If I was alone and needed a quick bite to eat I would definitely consider this.

Great food and great company. Locals very friendly and food was fresh. Apparently no frozen meat kept on site is delivered fresh every day.

The bar staff are very welcoming and are friendly and whilst I would certainly come back for a drink, I would never eat the food here again. The naans certainly appeared to be store bought and our food was completed draped over with what seemed to be again store bought hot chilli sauce. It was apparent that there was nothing unique or fresh about the food. They do have however a good drinks selection and certainly the bar staff were sympathetic to our comments.

Local the the 3 Kilns, i thought why not? Give it a go.. i'm sure it cannot be that bad.
