I found this sandwich shop by chance, in the middle of a housing estate. I had a meal deal which included a very fresh and very generous ham salad bun, crisps, a can of pop and a chocolate muffin all for £3.50....amazingly they also had beautiful homemade cakes which I couldn't resist. I will definitely be back and can't recommend enough.

I was Having a party in our church hall and asked the Hut to cater for me which they did. They put on a wonderful selection of sandwiches, savouries and cakes for 60 guests. Everyone commented on the selection and enjoyed the meal it was very reasonably priced and delivered ready plated ready to serve.

As a regular visitor here when I'm in the area this little gem has proven to be consistent good. Food is freshly prepared and quality is top notch with a price that is so pocket-friendly you'll wonder if you heard it correctly. Their friendly staff will happily prepare anything from a healthy (and generous) salad sandwich to their Hut Gutbuster Sandwich. Whatever your preference you'll come away with The Best Buttie in Town.

I visit at least once a week whilst shopping in the Town. Good cup of coffee and cracking food available. Reasonably priced served by always cheerful staff. Well worth a visit.

We’re not vegans, merely vegetarians! However it was a lovely surprise to stumble across this stall whilst on a walk around Durham. Whilst not hungry at the time, we bought some pastries and a scotch egg for later, purely because it was nice to see a trader specialising in meat free (or in this case vegan) products and not someone making a token effort. All of of our food tasted awesome and we’ll definitely make a point of visiting here to try something else the next time we are in Durham.

The quality, inventiveness and standard of food is fantastic, but for me, details like the temperature of the food or the seasoning/ flavouring is sometimes off. I visit on average 5 times a year. On some visits I come away thinking wow, on others it lacks in some areas. Experienced the Christmas menu recently which was lovely but it didnt blow me away like menus I've had here in the past. A slight annoyance is portion sizes are often inconsistent between diners, this time on at least 3 of the dishes. We all pay the same, make the portions identical please! Would like to return in the new year and support what is a great addition to the Durham food scene but I must agree with what's been said about the bins outside the entrance.
