Weren't sure what time we would get there so we ordered 2 takeaway Sunday vegetarian lunches at £13 each. What we got was enough for 2 meals each! Nut loaf, veggie sausage, veggie stuffing, cauliflower cheese, 6 other veg, a tub of onion gravy each and a Yorkshire pud. The veg were not over cooked and everything tasted good. So - good food, well cooked, good portions at a bargain price! Conclusion; we'll be back on Wednesday for curry night!

The Curre and Llangibby Hunt were meeting here before going off to frighten and then tear apart the local wild life. The whole area was blighted by this event.

Have been having Sunday Lunch takeaways for several years and they are always great value and extremely generous portions. We even had Christmas Day Lunch, which, again was superb.

Booked for an 80th birthday Sunday Lunch seating 13 adults and 1 child. Usual choices of roast meat plus 2 vegetarian options. Meat and yorkshire pudding came already plated which is fine. Then the vegetables arrived...and kept coming. 10 different choices of vegetables appeared and if we wanted more of them we just had to ask. Plenty of gravy boats too. We didn't have starters and we would not have been able to eat dessert as there was so much of the main to fill us up! Food tasted lovely and only £15.00 for 1 course. We will be back!

Had a takeaway Sunday lunch during lockdown (they still do this), rang on the off chance they were now taking bookings for the lounge. A very pleasant lady welcomed us. Reasonable drinks prices bottle of wine for £15, housewine £12. Varied choice of starters/mains and desserts priced £5 starter, £15 mains, £5 dessert. 2 of us had starters,pate and halloumi sticks, well presented good sized portions and very tasty. For mains 3 of us had beef and 1 pork, melt in the mouth, piping hot and they do not stint on the portions! Accompanied by dishes of boiled and roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, carrots, cabbage, broccoli, peas, mashed swede, 2 boats of delicious gravy and everyone gets the stuffing, sausages and most importantly yorkshire pud. Dessert; Oreo cheesecake and raspberry roulade again beautifully presented. It's safe to say we were stuffed! The best compliment I can give is that it was as good as my own home cooked Sunday lunch (only bigger portions!) Thanks go to the girls serving, they were quick, efficient and able to make conversation at the same time. The place had a lovely relaxed atmosphere and we did not feel we had to rush to leave after our meal. Could not fault our experience so a big thank you to all the staff of the Huntsman, you made it a memorable anniversary meal. All the tables were full but the landlady advised that not many seem to know they are doing meals in the lounge again. If you read this and are in the area, book, you'll be in for a treat.

We were staying locally for the week and ordered takeaways for the Sunday lunch as well as the Friday fish dinner. The quantity and quality of the food was excellent matched only by the helpfulness of the staff, highly recommended and will hopefully dine in next time we are in the area

Friendly, welcoming, a wholesomely amazing place, the food is outstanding, only one niggle, I couldn't get the recipie for the fish and chips! It was better, and I mean better then Rick's at Padstow!!!! Outstanding, couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

Rang On The off chance of a Sunday roast ... around 1140 and we got a table Went in and most tables were reserved Blimey wasn’t disappointed what a roast I had lamb !! Wow absolutely gorgeous.... I can honestly say I have never had a roast out like it ... spot on everything tasted as it should all of it so flavoursome Staff we extremely helpful as well

Nicely placed on a countryside crossroad. A large car park so, no issue on where to park. We didn't pre- book. The bar area was bustling with happy people chatting & eating. The empty tables were reserved. We were greeted by Sarah, at the bar whom made us feel welcome however, they were fully booked. Thankfully a couple had just cancelled in the other restaurant area & Sarah, arranged for us to eat in there, still using the bar area menu. It was Silver service, polite well spoken & smartly dressed young ladies/women serving everyone. Lovely hot freshly cooked food. No Pre-packaged, pre-portioned microwave meals here. I had the lamb & my partner had the beef. No scrimping on portion sizes. We both had the Sticky toffee pudding & ice cream for dessert.All in all, a pleasant meal out with great service. Well worth the travelling; 1/2 an hour away from home. (would of been nice to have had some quiet classical or Jazz music playing in the back ground maybe).Keep up the good work all. The ladies toilet was well equipped with all that a lady/baby needs. Clean & fresh smelling.

Hi visited on an evening recently as 2 older couples . They had been there many times in the past but for no particular reason hadn't been back for a few years . For my wife and I it was our first visit . We were warmly greeted by the lady behind the bar and were served by a very friendly and pleasant young lady . We had 2x Gammon and one fresh cod and one 6oz fillet steak. All was good with a proper portion of everything including fresh vegetables all cooked well .. The meal was very good and we hope to return again. The Hotel itself is clean but in need of some investiment in refurbishing . Everything is tired and worn but as I say clean and warm and we will return maybe for a sunday lunch which has had good reviews . Maybe best to book that ahead . Costs 4 main courses and a bottle of red wine about 85 pounds

Having had a great time before Christmas and a fabulous meal we thought we would see if it was a one off. Thankfully it was not and we had another great meal and night out. All dishes were plentiful and well cooked. Really good value for money and excellent servers. Speaking to local people the Sunday Roast has been recommended to us so my next report will be on that. I am so looking forward to our Sunday booking.

The Restaurant serves home cooked tasty meals with a good choice of starters and main course, Sunday dinner is always superb with local sourced meat and veg served at the table, this is a gem of a place well worth a visit you will not be disapointed enjoy !

6 of us visited the Huntsman just before Christmas and having read some of the Trip Advisor report was a little skeptical.Well my thought soon changed once seated and given the menu, good choice and I soon picked out my three courses.I started with the Pate and it was really good with plenty of very nice fresh bread and lovely pickle. I would have liked a little more pickle but I never asked. With the service we had I am positive if I had asked I would have been given more. Main course I opted for the Turkey and was very pleasantly surprised with not only how much was on the plate but how thick it was cut and hot it was. We had three types of cooked potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, peas, cabbage, parsnips, swede, stuffing two types of gravy all served piping hot and beautifully cooked. Everyone had full plates and their was still food in the dishes. Now I had planned to have the sticky toffee pudding for desert but my eyes got bigger than my belly and I landed up with just having the Ice Cream. However next time I go it will be the sticky pudding as my daughter in law had it and not only did it look great it tasted great.I am already booked to go back again so I have no hesitation in recommending The Huntsman to anyone. First visit for Sunday lunch today. Wonderful welcome by landlord, who recommended a great cider. Staff so polite, efficient and friendly. The pork cooked to perfection, a great range of veg, roast parsnips and potatoes lush! Large portions too. Definitely be back and highly recommend

We stayed over at the huntsman last night to go to Chepstow race and we were all very happy with our stay. The food was very good and and the landlord is very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for him and overall a 5 star service and would definitely stay again. Room was basic and clean and excellent value for money and lived up to our expectations as we knew it was not going to be luxury spa hotel before we booked. So rooms not up to Celtic manor standard but service was better! Thank you we had a lovely stay with you

Once again we had an excellent Sunday lunch at The Huntsman today. The food was plentiful and very well cooked, the lamb and the gravey in particular were very good! They were very busy but the service was efficent and the waiting staff pleasant and cheerful. It was also extremely good value for money.

Our family of 11 sat down and enjoyed the most mouthwatering Sunday Lunch ever. The servoce was very good, the choice excellent and every course very tasty. The cost of a 3 course lunch was £15.95 which was very good value. I would ighlight the main courses where there was a plentiful variety of roast meats with all the trimmings served fresh and hot. The first course of mainly varieties of soup and the very tasty desserts went down extremely well too. There were clean plates all round.

Lovely Sunday lunch. Great selection of meat and vegetables accompanied by Yorkshire puddings, stuffing, sausage and crackling! Staff were friendly and attentive and food was served very promptly, will definitely be back!

Landlady can be sullen and ubrupt ! shame as it puts the spoilers on your time spent there , however the Landlord is always a happy polite chap.

Lovely homemade Sunday roast dinner, the best in the area. Staff always welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend I won’t go any where else on Sunday for a roast dinner.

Superb. Lovely fresh veg and plenty of meat. Should book before hand. We didn't and they were really nice squeezing us in. Also my daughter has a nut allergy and they were very considerate about this. They even moved the couple near us because they ordered the nut roast. Great staff, lovely atmosphere.

Ad a lovely Sunday lunch at the Huntsman booked a table in restaurant £20 for 3 course. starters, lunch , pudding and tea or coffee . The food and service was excellent I had spicy chicken staters roast beef main and apple tart pudding the food was very tasty and plentiful. Would recommend to everyone 5*

Hadn't been here for a long time,was really looking forward to it and it did not disappoint. As always the food was delicious and the portions massive. No need to say more.

This pub and meals had been recommended by the owner of Maybee Glamping where we were staying and we weren't disappointed, the setting was was relaxing, the staff friendly and the meal was was wonderful (so much of it) and the desert was awesome, all well presented I would highly recommend this lovely pub.

Four of us visited this pub for lunch last Saturday. One couple had never been to the pub before and my husband and I hadn’t been for about 14 years! All four of us thought our meals were delicious, the puddings were very big and very fattening but very good and the staff were very pleasant and professional. Will definitely be returning!

We had three members of our family with us who had a flight to catch back to Holland from Bristol this afternoon....and the staff could not have been more obliging. Delayed by the crashed plane on the A40, we arrived at 12.10 for our booking f2.00 . We sat down to the best Sunday lunch ...in fact meal at a restaurant, that I have had in ages. A coeliac with us was well catered for with staff having first discussed the menu with her. The food was plentiful and delicious with a good variety to choose from. We had two courses but as the third was included in the price they offered us a choice and boxed it for us to take home! How good is that? The service was friendly and most efficient. Thank tou to the staff....all of you.

Been here a few times for various family occasions but this time was Sunday lunch and it was very good.

What a great place to be treated to Mothers day lunch I had Beef onion soup to start my daughter had the calamari also a bread basket with various breads which was refilled this was served promptly and by happy and polite staff , my main course I had the roast beef so tender I actually asked where they source this from,my daughter had lamb and my grandson the chicken all good, veg so much of everything all beautiful and so much in fact I was so full that I had no room for dessert which was a shame because the desserts looked yummy lovely food all fresh and very tasty, staff very pleasant on such a busy day all smiles WELL

I had a reservation for Sunday lunch on mothers day with 11 other members of my family. We were seated in the dining room at 3pm.

Wow, went to The Huntsman for an evening meal. Fabulous food and massive amounts of accompanying vegetables and chips. Before we ordered we were brought baskets of really lovely warm bread. We all like our food but we were beaten, very sadly as none of us like to leave anything. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming and the menu is extensive; this has to be one of the best kept secrets near Chepstow.

Recommended by our son, we went with him and his girlfriend to celebrate her birthday. The menu is amazing with vegetarian and vegan options. Big portions that taste delicious. Freshly cooked and great service. Can't wait to go back when we are in Wales.

The food is pricey but you get plenty and it comes on warm plates.

What a fantastic meal we had it just kept coming from starter mains and desert absolutely superb waitresses very polite and could not do enough for us.

Lovely 3 course roast dinner in the restaurant, reasonably priced. Staff very friendly and attentive. Lots of different veg and everything very tasty. Decor a little dated but otherwise a lovely place.

We visited this for a second time yesterday. It's convenient for meeting family as it's midway between us. Our family is quite awkward for restaurants as we have a 4 year old, two lactose-intolerant, 1 gluten free, 2 vegans and 2 normal! However, the Huntsman Hotel is brilliant at catering for these needs, producing separate special menus which take into account the best food available on the day. The special meals were very varied and not the usual 'fruit salad' easy option which many restaurants lazily fall back on. I was able to enjoy the yummiest chocolate brownies and soy ice cream. A real effort had been made. Yes, the place could do with a bit of a makeover but that's not worth taking a star away, especially when nothing's too much trouble for the staff, who were chatty, friendly and knowledgeable. We'll be back.

I have Sunday lunch here on the odd occasions as it’s quite pricey and a 40 minute commute, but it’s always been a nice treat and something to look forward too. Today however I was so disappointed and so where all my family. The dinner was so bland! There was no seasoning on anything.. the gravy was dreadful! My sister had the Pork and was offered no stuffing sausage crackling..she thought there wasn’t any until we saw others having it after she finished.. also no cheese and biscuits on the desert menu. Won’t be returning again.. such a shame.

Myself and my family have visited this hotel/restaurant a couple of times a year over the last 22 years, so we know it well. Having returned recently, the food has become poor, vegetables tough and the meat generally not as good as it has been over the years. Top prices are charged, but definitely no longer worth it.

Terribly rude and dismissive attitude of chef when making a query, after being advised to ring in the week before when initially making the booking. Due to this attitude we cancelled our booking and I will certainly not be visiting. Being stressed over a wedding is not a reason to be rude to other customers who have also made a large booking.

Ate at the Huntsman for the first time for years the food is still as good as ever. I had the Champignon chicken which was awesome particularly the sauce and an excellent accompaniment of vegetables.

Booked a table for 4 of us for Sunday lunch. I have a severe allergy to Parsnips and discovered they roasted the potatoes with the parsnips. When I mentioned my problem they offered me an alternative of gluten free roast potatoes. The staff couldn’t do enough to be helpful. And the food was brilliant too. I had Lamb which was succulent. Couldn’t fault anything. Will definitely be back again.

We came here with friends to have BBQ that was cooked outside by the hotel. The food was delicious and plenty of options. The staff was welcoming and the most important the toilets were very clean. As well there is a space for children to play. Definitely coming back

We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch, all the waiting staff were very attentive and polite without being intrusive. The food was hot and delicious and there was so much of it! The potatoes and cauliflower cheese were particularly good. The homemade bread was amazing, I ate far too much of it and then couldn't finish my dinner! We had Phil, Lucy and Ali cater our wedding at St Tewdrics House and it was fabulous! An outdoor BBQ in the sun, gorgeous canapés and delicious desserts! Plenty of food for a big wedding and enough for seconds! Perfect 👌🏻 xx

Phil and Ali and their staff catered for my daughters and her husband's wedding reception in a marquee at our garden. What a wonderful service they provided. Nothing was too much trouble. Everyone loved the menu. We highly recommend the huntsman for their excellent service.

The Sunday lunch is a set three course meal for £20, so if you just want a main meal you still have to pay £20. This was a bit of a disappointment for a few of us as there was no flexibility or other options.

Great for a family party. In trying to organise a 60th birthday party for my brother, we had been badly let down by another Monmouthshire restaurant. The Huntsman stepped into the breach with a spacious well-laid out party room, provided an excellent 3 course meal and drinks for 40. Everything was laid-back and stress free and nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere created was just great and absolutely everybody had a great time.

We enjoyed a fabulous Sunday lunch today to celebrate a family birthday. The food was excellent, great choice, generous portions and brilliant service. The staff were really helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. We continue to return to the Huntsman as it's always good value.

We had a great lunch here yesterday. We must have proved a nightmare for the kitchen, though I had given them fair warning when I booked. Nine of us - two vegans, two lactose-free, one pescatarian, one four-year old and three anything goes! But nothing was too much trouble. Special menus had been produced, with great choice. A (quite understandable) slight delay in the food being produced but this was immediately picked up by the owner and sorted. Chips to die for. Sizeable portions and top-ups of any more veg we needed. Bread just kept coming. Great wine choice. Extremely genial owner. Would certainly recommend.

Popped in for a meal on friday evening. The service was excellent and the food portions were generous. There were a few people in at the time and the service was efficient and the waitress took time to check that everything was ok. We both enjoyed our meals but were too full from our starters and main meals to try the dessert. Good value too.

6 of us ate here for dinner. The choice was amazing with something to suit every palate. All our food was very good, generous portions and reasonably priced. We choose a bad night to attend as it was very busy and also very noisy that it was difficult to have a conversation above the noise but it wouldn't put me off going back again

Fantastic food and service. Great staff who were on shift for all the time we were there. Nothing was too much trouble and when there was no taxi available for my family a lovely lady called Rachel offered to take us back to where we were staying.

Called here on a visit to lydney with family.Scampi and chips was big portion. Felinfoel ale great.Simillar to a dime bar dessert was tasteful.Good hospitality and friendly locals.Would return.

Staying with friends in Portskewett we went to the Huntsman for sunday lunch it was in all a very pleasant and the food was first class and will return when next in the area.

Had a lovely meal here with friends the filet steak was to die. The specials board full of great sounding dishes to hard to choose a meal enough food on the table to feed an army arrived at the table which at the end of the meal they put into a doggie bag for my two starving doggies waiting patiently in the car for our return needless to say they gave their seal of approval too

Despite being packed to the gunwales we enjoyed a superb Xmas lunch, absolutely amazing that the quality of the "home cooked" lunch and the service could be sustained. With a huge selection of starters, main courses and desserts there was something for everyone in our party and it made for a superb Xmas Day.

Went to the Huntsman for a light lunch with husband, excellent choice of menu ,quiet location , had a very friendly welcome , lovely coffee , superb food, generous portion size , good value for money , very clean inside as were the ladies toilets . Was very quiet but guess that is the time of year . Will definatley go back for sunday lunch as heard it is amazing , all in all a good first experience and would recommend .

I had eaten here a few times before, but called in here with a friend for lunch, I had a pint of Felinfoel Stout which I had not tried before and it was excellent. I had fancied fish and chips and didn't see this on the menu so decided to have Scampi the girl at the bar showed me another menu which she said was for smaller meals from which I selected Jumbo Fish and Chips! Our meals arrived quite quickly and we both enjoyed them - good quality and plenty of it. The Huntsman was quieter than I had expected but it was a miserable day. If you come here for a meal look further than the menu on the table! Look at the other menus and the specials board - there is a lot to choose from.

I know the family on a personal basis and have done so for years. However this is based upon my stay and not my friendship with the family. We have lived in France and Spain and on our trips home have always stayed at the Huntsman. We use the same room each and every time. The welcome is as always friendly and helpful. The rooms are adequate for one's stay clean and tidy and the pricing is totally acceptable. The food is home produced and one has to try the Lamb Rogan Josh! Then draft beers and a wide range of wine. Nothing is too much for Phil Moles and his wider family. My wife and I love it there and there is Wi Fi as well. Although on a country road there is little traffic at night. Ahead of eating at the Huntsman stop for a pint at the Carpenters just down the road.The Huntsman is renowned for its Sunday lunch

Have just come back from The Huntsman after a very enjoyable Sunday Lunch with friends. Excellent value for money, 3 courses for £18 which includes coffee and mints. Great selection of starters, main course same good choice and the selection of vegetables impressive - boiled potatoes, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, cabbage, Yorkshire puddings, stuffing, peas, carrots, sausages, parsnips! Large number of desserts as well. It was very busy, so definitely need to book.

Stayed here for one night and received a warm and friendly welcome. The menu was varied and the food cooked well. The desserts were especially good as was the filet mignon.The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable.What makes the hotel stand out is the warm and friendly service.

Exceptionally good value with plenty of variety on the menu board for all tastes including vegetarian.Recently ate there and once again the same high standards you come to expect from this establishment, argentinian beef cut to new york style was not only cooked to perfection but also delicious. The choice of home made sauces in this case black pepper are again cooked to perfection.The staff were courteous and friendly, and welcoming and families are made to feel at home here. Cannot rate this establishment highly enough , excellent value for money with portions that fill you completely, well done all concerned

From beginning to end absolutely amazing, we met with Phil about our wedding meal who talked us through and planned everything and promised the world. Talk is cheap, but he totally exceeded our already high expectations!!! Food and service just amazing!! Also went there for a meal tonight and just as we expected, perfect!!

I've been here twice now for Sunday lunch..The positives..You get alot of food for your money. The amount of veggies to choose from is indeed impressive, and something I personally like rather than the usual broccoli and carrots.The chicken roast is nice, but the beef was like a school dinner, very thin slices and very well done, not my taste.The puddings are probably the best thing on the menu, especially the ginger and treacle tart, although they didn't have it last time which was disappointing as it was partly the reason for going back!The staff are very friendly and always look very busy. They let you take dessert with you if you are full, which is a nice thought. The atmosphere is nice and informal, so it's a good place for a family.The bad..The overall quality of the food could definitely be improved. Each meal I experienced had things that needed addressing/improving. My vegetable soup for example - it had small pieces of veg in that were still crunchy. As mentioned the beef was not good at all. When going for Sunday lunch you expect the meat, being the main thing, to be decent. The gravy was generic for any meat, which made sense when I asked if I could have a bit of chicken to go with the beef and it all came with one gravy.The other confusing thing is there are so many servers! In one meal we had 6 different people wait our table. When the food arrives they serve the veggies for you on your plate, kind of like silver service but not. All the servers turned up at the same time and it was like a parade around the table, very squashed and slightly chaotic. It was also confusing as you didn't know who to call when you needed something else. The overall decor is severely outdated. The exterior needs a complete repaint, I was surprised the first time I saw it as it looks very run down and dirty. The dining room is carpeted and the toilet was like in a dodgy pub with a huge hole in the door. Not really acceptable.That is why my rating is average. Perhaps others here have had better experiences than I had, but I left not overly wanting to return, despite the nice desserts. Hopefully it will improve as it seems to have a loyal client base.

There's always a warm welcome at the Huntsman hotel in the beautiful Wye valley. If it's a meal you're after there's plenty to choose from. The plates are full of delicious home cooked dishes. Highly recommended.

Saturday evening meal out - frozen deep fried starter, burnt sea bass, crucified mushrooms, solid black pudding - diabolical food and no ambience at all. Avoid at all costs (and it's not cheap)

We ended up here after a disaster at our first option. they had a table for us and we turned up ( a party of 6) The service was great, the food good and plentiful. A nice atmosphere and they even took on board the birthday and despite us not ordering a dessert as we were all full, they bought out a Brownie decorated with cream and candles for the birthday girl.We had various meals from gammon, stake, lasagne to salmon. All good standard. All in all a good night - thank you

There are so many different options of what to eat. The quality is fabulous and good service too. Pricing is also just right.

This is a great location for a pub/restaurant but it is badly in need of some renovation and redecoration.

Brilliant family pub with excellent food and good choice of beers. Very friendly staff and loads of parking!

Booked a table for Sunday Lunch at the Huntsman. Everything went well, from the moment we were seated - We ordered our Starters - Pate and Garlic Mushrooms, followed by traditional Sunday Roast, I had the beef and my partner had the pork - this is plated and then the staff silver serve the vegetables, and what a selection - it's amazing and very tasty!!When we had finished our mains we really couldn't eat anymore - so we mentioned that we wouldn't be having dessert - but it's a 3 course - we were then asked if we would like to order our dessert and we could take them away - (This is such a lovely touch)Would defiantly recommend for a Traditional Sunday Lunch and great value for money with exceptional customer service - very friendly atmosphere.

Went during the week as a party of 5. Delicious food in a very old fashioned environment. A little pricey but big portions.

Superb lunch both for value and standard, staff were excellent. If you came away hungry then that's your fault believe me this place doesn't do small portions.

Fabulous food couldn't eat all of it even tho it was so tasty would highly recommend lovely atmosphere feels very Homely and friendly and relaxing will be going back again and again

Third visit to this pub, very nice Sunday lunch. Really good selection of Roasts and other fayre Good quality food at a reasonable price. The service was excellent as usual. Well worth a trip out to this pub is the picturesque Welsh countryside.Always seems busy so best to book

Carpet in the dining room stinks. The whole place badly needs to be refurbished. The building is divided up into shabbily fashioned rooms with hardboard walls etc. it still gives me the shivers when I think of it. the location is lovely though, and it is a great shame that the hotel does not live up to the wonderful location.

Sunday lunch outstanding with a selection of five different meats on offer plenty of roast vegetables potatoes greens lots of food good selection of starters and sweats plus coffee and mints for a reasonable price up yo seven real ales on offer plus good selection of wines staff extremely friendly helpful and efficient will certain re visit thanks to the manager and all his staff for a wonderful meal

Yet another superb 3 course meal here, staff are friendly, food was perfect , lots of choice, our table of 9 enjoyed it all.... Will be back

Have stayed at the huntsman on several occasions and have booked weekends for early next year. Phil is a great host, rooms are clean and comfortable.Hospitality is superb with a breakfast to die for.

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal today. The plates were hot, the food was excellent and the staff obliging. A very relaxed atmosphere. Looking forward to my christmas dinner there. If you are in the area, try it.

This pub serves the best Sunday lunch , I couldn't find a better one.,very friendly personnel also.☺

Stayed here after our hotel we originally booked was less than substandard. The rooms here are clean, well stocked with tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits etc. En-suite bathroom extremely clean too. Comfortable beds and plenty of storage in rooms. Only complaint with the room is that the TV is very old and we could only watch one channel. Breakfast was awesome, plenty of it with as much toast as you want, good choice of cereals and a big jug of orange juice on the table. We were late for breakfast but they happily cooked for us. All in all a lovely little hotel, in beautiful surroundings and very pleasant helpful staff. Would definitely recommend this place and will stay here again. Well done guys!

An excellent pub meal, a superb menu selection with generous portions, well cooked and well presented. All the staff encountered were knowledgeable and courteous. A good selection of real ales, and probably the most extensive selection of vegetarian meals that we have come across in a pub.

Been the the Huntsman many times, food always lovely especially the sunday dinners, lots to choose from and its very good value for money.However the staff have been a problem a few times i have visited.The last time really made me want to review it, theres lots of younger girls working there and a lot of them dont know customer service! Very miserable and quiet and dont know the answers to very basic questions that i asked. On top of that, the most recent visit, two staff member smelt very very strongly of body odour. This was very off putting whilst eating our food and they were floating passed us every 5 minutes. I would never like to say to anyone directly as i know it must be horrible, i did want to speak to the manager but unfortunately i was informed that they were 'very busy'.That said, some of the older staff members were pleasant and did not have body odour, it was just a shame about the ones that did!
