Excellent service, menu and quality of food for a Sunday Lunch carvery - and they did serve lamb! So well done.! It was a well attended meal and there were enough staff. We shall have to come again and not wait for so long. Keep up the good work.

Staying locally for a special birthday with family including a baby and small dog. Stumbled across this pub online and after phoning to see if they could accommodate us all for carvery, I was impressed with their customer service and didn’t hesitate to make a booking. Carvery was absolutely amazing . Great value and delicious. All staff were so helpful and attentive. If we lived closer we would be back every week! Thank you all

Had a lovely stay at The Hunter Inn. Last minute find, whilst we were heading up north, so just a quick stop and stay for us. A lovely kept campsite,with everything you need, instructions are well explained too. Nice little pub, reasonavly priced, with lovely food, staff couldn't be more helpful. All in all a lovely place to stay. Definately stay here again and would recommend to anyone. 😊

We booked their campsite, for a night and had a family dinner here, on 8th September. Our two dogs were also allowed in. The food was amazing and all cooked to perfection, with a great combination of flavours. The dishes were a good size and presented beautifully. The staff were all very friendly, polite and efficient. We would definitely be returning, when back in the area.

We had a lovely meal served by an attentive young man. An older member of staff was perhaps not a people person! We will definitely go again.....

This was a Sunday Lunch carvery, my first visit, recommended by a friend. I really enjoyed my food, the choice of meats was good and the choices of potato’s cooked different ways and the variety of vegetables was amazing. Whilst I did not have room for dessert they were homemade and I will certainly remember to leave room for one next time I visit. Carvery was well organised and the staff were very friendly and courteous.

Great pub outside Tewkesbury. Friendly staff ... Good quality well cooked food. Prices correct ( not cheap but definitely not dear) We would definitely recommend my wife had fish pie and I had fish and chips both good sized and perfectly cooked. Looking around everyone was served perfectly and enjoying the friendly atmosphere.....Enjoy

Called in here as it was close to our accommodation and it was an excellent find. We had a Fillet and a Sirloin steak both excellent followed by the best Apple pie and ice cream we've had in ages. Service was good and friendly. We were so impressed we booked for the Sunday Carvery and once again it was excellent a good choice of meat and great selection of veg. would heartily recommend.

Rang for a last minute booking and we were made so welcome! We ordered our drinks, and pondered the menu. A few items were unavailable but we were still able to make some great choices. We ordered 1 of the breaded mushrooms and 3 of the baked Bries. All incredible! Mains we had 2 gammon, belly pork and the lasagna. Portions were huge and was all incredibly tasty. Wish we had room for pudding but we didn’t unfortunately. We can’t wait to return!

Was left a little disappointed here. Service was lovely, choice and cooking was great but I think there’s a problem with the sourcing or possibly storage. Both the fish and the steak were lacking in flavour and we struggled to finish them. The cooking seems fantastic - steak and fish were cooked very well so I can only assume it’s the raw ingredients that were at fault. Good choice of wines by the glass and a good ale too. Something needs finessing.

Highly recommend this place. We travelled from Newcastle got stuck in 2 very long traffic jams and didn’t arrive till 8.15 pm, we rang ahead of arrival and the staff went above and beyond our expectations by making sure that food was available as the kitchen was about to close and the food was excellent.

Following a reccomendation from our Air B&B host we popped in for a bite to eat before heading to a wedding at Birtsmorton Court. Delicious soup & crispy thick chips went down a treat! Unfortunately for us taxis were proving very hard to come by & as the panic started to set in the staff at the Hunters Inn were there to help. Kate, the landlady went above & beyond stepping in to help us reach our destination & it truly felt like it was her pleasure to lend a hand. Only wish we had time to try the carvery before travelling home the next day. Something we'll be certain to add to our plans next time we're in the area.

El almuerzo de pub era bueno, variedad en el menú. Reservamos para la noche también, aunque tuvimos que sentarnos en una carpa sucia.Pasé la noche en el campamento, no muy impresionado. La casera no es muy agradable, su pareja también pesca. Hicimos que una pareja se uniera a nosotros con una tienda de campaña, dijo que no se les permitía llevar su automóvil hasta donde se instalaría la tienda, por lo que tenían que llevar todas sus pertenencias. Ella nos dijo que entremos en la carpa trepando la cerca, él dijo que no. Necesitan trabajar más en equipo si quieren que este sitio continúe.Los baños tampoco se habían limpiado.No lo recomendaría ni volvería.

Pasamos la noche con nuestra caravana como escala, buen sitio, de fácil acceso desde la carretera.Reservamos para cenar en el bar, que estaba muy bien hecho y nos dejó sin necesidad de postre.Las duchas y los baños están ubicados detrás del pub en su propio bloque, las conexiones habituales de agua dulce y las instalaciones para la eliminación de los inodoros químicos, las conexiones eléctricas estables de 16 amperios son una necesidad para las camionetas modernas y los extras que ejecutan, Hunters Inn se las arregló sin problemas.El personal fue amable y realmente servicial a pesar de que llegamos durante una fuerte tormenta, los comentarios sobre la casera de los demás parecen bastante desagradables, ella fue amable con nosotros, solo que quizás no el estilo de todos.Lo único que pediría es que los campos se nivelen en la temporada baja para que sea más fácil para las caravanas que entran y salen de los campos sin aterrizar, hubo algunas caídas grandes que podrían causar problemas a las ruedas jockey, eso y el césped simplemente necesitaba un buen corte.Felizmente volveremos a Hunters Inn y lo recomendaría.

Me alojé aquí pero no volvería nunca! !Al pedir comida, la dueña fue tan grosera y molesta que estábamos ordenando cerca de ellos cerrando y resoplando y dijo que habían estado callados todo el día. La comida fue incorrecta, la comida fue reemplazada, pero cuando estábamos tratando de disfrutar de nuestra comida, nos preguntaron sobre el pedido dos veces y pedimos más dinero, luego el hombre intentó mostrarnos un recibo de un pedido que ni siquiera era nuestro.Las toallas de papel y el rollo de papel higiénico no se cambiaban muy a menudo en el bloque del baño y el enchufe de la ducha estaba muy sucio y atascado.No merecen que la gente trate de gastar dinero allí.¡No me molestaría en reservar! !

stayed for 2 nights lovely clean level pitch. Adhered to all covid regulations. Wonderful reasonably priced food. Clean toilets and showers. Would recommend and will be going back.

We booked a night in the Hunter's Inn campsite (excellent camping spot - clean facilities and level pitches) as a stopover for our journey to Devon, and invited local relatives over for a meal.The campsite and the pub have been well adapted to meet COVID-19 guidelines and the owners are taking their responsibilities towards guests and staff very seriously. Screens, sanitiser, distances tables, clear signage, one way system etc. This is an exceptionally hard-working team, and they are managing a stressful situation with good humour. We felt welcome and very safe.The menu is interesting with some pub classics (lasagne, fish & chips etc) and some more ambitious dishes. The lamb went down very well, and the pork belly was superb. Desserts were lush too!

We've eaten at the Hunters Inn before and the service and quality of food has always been very good. Last night was no exception, five of us sat down near to a lovely fire in a cosy dinning room. There was a good choice of food which tasted delicious, portions were generous, reasonably priced and the service was faultless. Thank you Hunters Inn for a most enjoyable evening on a cold winters night, we will be going again - soon

We decided to seeing how the Hunters Inn would cope with a lunchtime meet for our club. They managed very well and we will be returning next month!!

Met up with friends before Christmas at this place which they had booked. Had not been here before so went in with an open mind. It appeared quiet in the restaurant on arrival, however ordered food (starters and mains). It then became apparent that there was a large party out the back which possibly was the reason for the restaurant being quiet. The food was very good and the service was fine, although slow at times. Would definitely come here again.

Having asked local friends "where's good for lunch?" The Hunters inn kept coming up. We turned up without booking and had a warm welcome. From the off everything was good, super friendly staff/landlord equally matched by the food, the king prawn starter was just amazing.I am rarely driven to write a review but this place is well worth a visit, I should think booking is a good idea tho.

On searching for carverys near Tewkesbury the Hunters came up. What a find, the welcome was lovely and the carvery was amazing, beautifully cooked meat and veg. So much variety and with large plates for the heartiest of appetites! The sweets are a treat and all in a lovely setting. Read some negative reviews on line but can not fault this place, don’t believe all you read! Really friendly staff, especially Caroline who took time to check on us and chat, we will definitely be back, thank you, as an ex serviceman it made my day.

The meal was just about average. Welcome was not good by the woman behind the bar. Who then went on to insult other establishments, former patrons and my wife! We never want to go again with this management.

Being a wet Sunday scrolling through the pubs for a nice carvery after 6pm, never thought I was near one in Tewkesbury but this one popped up and what a nice surprise that they let us in with our small dog! What a find we were so impressed with the choice of meats as well as the veg! Best carvery we’ve ever had! Highly recommended with very nice staff!!

Nos topamos con este lugar por casualidad. Era domingo y los otros lugares que nos recomendaron no estaban abiertos. Nos acogieron sin reservas, tenían una lista de vinos encantadora (lo sé, en Inglaterra debería disfrutar de las cervezas, pero no para mí) y tenían un asado nocturno. Tuve el rosbif con todos los adornos, incluyendo pudín de yorkshire, muy sabroso. Mi marido tenía tanto la carne como el cordero y dijo que el cordero era excepcional. El personal era muy servicial por no tenernos en las reservas.

Nos alojamos en el Hilton y no nos dijeron que su restaurante estaba lleno para la cena, así que eche un vistazo rápido en Tripadvisor y encontramos este lugar. Muy contento de haberlo hecho. Comimos el viernes por la noche en el restaurante y nuevamente el sábado, pero esa noche solo en el bar y en ambas ocasiones la comida era increíble, deliciosas comidas caseras, muy calientes y porciones realmente grandes. El personal es muy amable y conversan contigo cuando pueden. Han mantenido un ambiente peculiar en el lugar y su encanto del viejo mundo todavía está allí. Esperamos volver el año que viene y acampar ya que tienen un pequeño campamento.

My partner and I borrowed a campervan for the weekend and thought we would have a spontaneous trip away when we came across “the hunters inn” which was available and was cheap to stay for the one night, we didn’t know what to expect. But I’m so glad I found it because it’s one of the best weekends we have had in a long time. The pub was really nice, the staff were really friendly and the food was amazing. The field next door to the pub were we stayed was so perfect with lovely clean toilets/showers and of course not fair to go to get a few drinks. Not to forget the Sunday Carvery was to die for.

Had a lovely 3 day weekend and had a grass pitch with electric hook up. Great hosts and site was very clean. We ate in the pub on the Sunday evening and food was scrumptious!

Acabo de regresar de un encantador campamento de 2 noches en The Hunters Inn. El camping es fabuloso para familias con niños, hay un enorme trampolín y un tobogán para los más pequeños. Los gerentes son muy amables y fueron geniales con nuestro hijo de 6 años. El sitio está muy limpio y acaba de tener un nuevo bloque de ducha instalado, el pub es genial, comimos allí dos veces y la comida fue increíble en ambas ocasiones. El domingo el asado es muy recomendable. El trampolín nos lanzó justo al lado y el gerente nos dijo que ella había pensado en ponernos allí para que nuestro niño pequeño estuviera cerca del trampolín y en nuestra vista cuando estaba jugando. . . Un toque encantador! Sin duda volveremos:)

Last Visited here a long time ago so went with some friends mid week. The service was welcoming and the food was freshly cooked so we didn’t mind a small wait. Food was hot and delicious all round and prices were reasonable. There is a separate restaurant but we decided to eat in the large bar area. Quite a lively place for midweek with local drinkers at the bar too. Very good evening.

We had a great lunch here on a Saturday to celebrate a family birthday. Food was great. Very convivial surroundings. The staff were lovely. The real fires were very atmospheric. The restaurant is beautifully decorated.

We dropped in without a reservation, it was no problem to the friendly manager to ensure we were soon provided with a table. The carvery was plentiful, with a wide selection of meat and vegetables and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Alrededor de 16 de nosotros tuvimos una reunión de Navidad en The Hunters. Habíamos pedido nuestras comidas y todo parecía ir sin problemas. La comida estaba bien, servida rápidamente y caliente, el personal era amable y eficiente y la habitación era muy cálida y acogedora. Los precios eran razonables para la comida de pub de buena calidad. Nada que no te guste.

A little disappointed to be honest. Meat was nice, my daughters child carvery had more meat than mine, broccoli and carrots were scrummy I have to say. Parsnips nice but roasts not that great. Gravy way too watery and even tho I didn’t have a lot it was swimming off the plate. Staff not that friendly felt they were too stressed unfortunately.

We visited the Hunters Inn while on holiday. We were tantalised by lots on the menu and ended up very happy indeed with our decisions. A good selection was on offer for children, including good veggie options. My wife, also vegetarian, opted for a pasta dish. Sometimes when you order pasta you get a meal that you could easily make at home. In this case, however, it really was a meal worth paying for.

Have been here a few times now while out on a Sunday. The carvery is very good with a lot of different vegetables to choose from, the only minor gripe is the staff have no communication and give differing advise, however that said will be coming back as food plentiful and very tasty

Well what can I say, absolutely brilliant, fantastic selection of meat, veg and all the trimmings, and amazing service, lovely welcoming staff too! Came for fathers day on a whim and was dissapointed with the service. The staff didn't seem to communicate at all with one another and we had several people waiting on our table that kept coming up and asking questions we had already been asked by another staff member. When we arrived we were just told a table number (even though the tables had no numbers on them) and were left standing in the bar until we had to ask again where we were sitting. A women who looked liked the landlady was trying to wait on us also and undermining the waitress who was doing a perfectly fine job anyway. Although it was a sunday carvery they had a small main menu to choose from however they had ZERO vegetarian main course options. I had to ask for a starter to be made into a main. When the food eventually came it was very underwhelming. The chips were so undercooked they were still hard in the middle and the garlic mushrooms looked like they had just come out of a freezer bag. Also when we ordered drinks they came out in dribs and drabs. We could also hear other customers having issues which added to the strange environment. Overall i don't think we will be coming back anytime soon unfortunately.

Had a glorious meal with excellent service. Although it was Wednesday steak night, we chose their rather unusual chicken wellington; a glorious combination of flavours with a fine port gravy.

Went to see if the latest rumours about the recent improvement in the variety and quality of the food were true. Definitely far better than last visit a few years ago, and was impressed by the friendliness and general atmosphere

I rarely write reviews, however, I really wanted to not only state what a fabulous Sunday lunch I had today with a great variety of vegetable dishes on the carvery but also to say thank you for the overwhelming kindness that you showed towards my dog. You went above and beyond. Never have we been made to feel so welcome. So Bea the dog and I are saying thank you for the water, the tasty titbits and the strokes.

We arrived late one Sunday lunchtime without a booking and were accommodated without fuss. We ate a very good carvery with a generous choice of vegetables at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Llamamos aquí en un camino a una cita un sábado por la noche para comer algo rápido. El personal era muy amable, acogedor y eficiente. Me gustó mucho la decoración de este edificio de madera muy vieja (pinturas de terracota directamente al yeso daban un toque medieval). La comida no fue muy emocionante. Comida de pub estándar - carnes, pescado y patatas fritas, gambas, etc. Tenía una pieza bien hecha de salmón y mi marido disfrutó su scampi. El pastel de limón merengue para el postre se hizo en las instalaciones y excelente. Con una copa de vino tinto cada pasamos un buen rato. Nos gustaría volver.

Gran ubicación. Un montón de espacio en el aparcamiento, jardín y espacio exterior.

Una vez más un increíble comida en una bulliciosa los domingos. Almuerzo para 10 en las madres de día, asado y como siempre llevar divina super servicio. No puedo quejarme de este lugar y siempre una cálida bienvenida por parte de ellos. Hasta pronto.

Visitamos el pub para comer el domingo por recomendación. Buena selección de carnes y una maravillosa variedad de hortalizas, incluyendo apionabos que no había tenido antes, aparte de en sopas. Todo un sabor delicioso. Buena variedad de budines. Muy popular en el día que fuimos tan fresca comida a intervalos regulares.
