Happened across this lovely place on a walk with our dog. We all had ice cream including the dog with a very nice brownie to follow. Sit amongst the trees and just listen to the birds and watch the world go by.

Delicious cakes and tasty sandwiches. Most of the cakes are homemade. A very friendly owner served us. We enjoyed our first stop so much that we called back later in the day. Access is possible from the river Bure.

What a lovely lady running the Hungry Otter, happy, friendly and incredibly helpful. This lady even sold us a cup of milk as we couldnt get anything locally for our boat. She served delicious homemade pasties, sausage rolls and muffins. An absolute pleasure to visit

Awful treatment recieved here today, wouldnt tell me what cold drinks where available as I couldnt read the boards. I recieved a rude response and pointing gesture at the front boards of the stall. Being visually impaired I couldnt read these hence asking. But the owner made it crystal clear she had no time or kindness in her to just tell me. Instead I had to leave close to tears, I did return to say It was utterly disgraceful and poor customer service. No apology offered, just well you should have said 🤦‍♀️ no I really dont. Im asking you a question and expect decent customer service. If im standing infront of a board yet still ask the question then I obviously require your help. Not to be disabilty shamed and have to explain myself. Would you mortify a poor person who cant read by expecting them to explain themselves to you? I'd hope not. I'm sure there is this beautiful saying - not every disability is visible. A very cold hearted woman, who clearly hates being stuck in her little stall.

What a nice surprise to find the Hungry Otter in the middle of nowhere after mooring our boat for the day. Lots of lovely home made goodies to choose from, we had some very nice sausage rolls, the lemon cake, jam oaties, and flapjack, washed down with a lovely latte and all served with a smile. Next time we're boating on the broads we'll certainly make a point of stopping off at the Hungry Otter again.

We moored up in Salhouse broad and walked up for morning coffee from the hungry otter. Coffee was good and the sausage rolls and (many) bakes we had were very tasty. Well worth a visit.

Like the Hungry otter they would only be able to sponsor Little Barton under 12 team ! If their coffee was a car it would be a 1955 trabant with 3 wheels and one windscreen wiper ... I think you get my drift . The plants were watered with mine I pray they will survive but i fear for them .

I’d done a bit of Googling ahead of my trip and wanted to check out this place. I’m glad I took the very short walk from the mooring as it was a great find and so much on offer. As a vegan I was hoping there might be a vegan ice cream (a big ask) and actually there were several different flavours! Lots of other yummy stuff there too. I’d definitely visit again.

A very welcome find for us on a beautiful, autumnal walk along the length of Salhouse Broad. This perfect place to stop for tea, coffee, sandwiches or local ice cream sits at the top of the hill looking out over a picturesque Broadland view. Perfect for our afternoon cuppa and a lovely owner.

Popped by today to see the bluebells down at the Broad and was tempted by the rather lovely looking Victoria sponge cake. Very light, nice jam, great price, splendid view. I hope the hungry otter does very well and it saves boaters and day visitors...

We only went for lunch and we both decided to have the ribeye steak medium rare with chips. At £27 (now £34) a head we expected a decent steak but were very disapointed, it was tough, the waitress said she would tell the chef. They also add a 10% tip! A gratuity should be given for good service not just added to the bill.

Stopped here as the second night of our cycle trip to do the Rebellion Way. The pub couldn't have been any more helpful. They found space for our bikes, food and service was excellent and the price was very reasonable.
