Lovely lunch Stuart and leanne were very friendly and helpful bar staff very efficient and the macaroni cheese was the best in somerset

We have been here before there was six of us,we had four different meals they all looked fabulous apart from the Christmas lunch ,when I mentioned it to Sarah the assistance manager. she was so kind and had said I should have said sooner gave me a lovely dessert, will be back soon thank you .

We found this pub by chance while staying at the Premier Inn about a mile up the road for the Weston Super Mare Carnival. We visited on two evenings during our stay on the Thursday and again on the Saturday. The pub was quiet on both nights, (surprisingly) so we had plenty of choice of tables. The pub is especially spacious; very nice to have plenty of room between tables. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming, no exceptions. Huge menu, lots of choice, almost too much to choose from. Our food was great quality and plenty of it, excellent value too. My falafel flat bread on the second night was amazing, quite of the tastiest meals I've had in ages. The sizzler plates and burgers looked good too. Very highly recommended for a cheap night out with friends

Great atmosphere great food definitely come back again. Highly recommend the sizzlers great for your money and you get to pick what you want.

We popped in for a quick meal, and were really surprised at how good the food was for the price we paid (midweek specials). It arrived very quickly after we ordered and was piping hot. The fries were gorgeous! Super value for money and friendly staff.

We came for lunch. My companion had the steak and ale pie, and I had cod and chips and garden peas. It was all most excellent, as usual. One point I might make is that all the mayonnaise bottles were nearly empty. Otherwise everything was great. Stagg friendly, toilets pristine. Highly recommended.

A huge selection of drinks! I looked at the menu and will certainly go back for that. I can't believe they do a whole meal for £5 right now!!! Even when it's normal price it's still amazingly cheap and it's happy there!

We will likely reconsider using this pub as our families halfway house, not to be too baa hum bug as it is the festive season hence two stars not one! However my last written review for here was December 2022 and a different experience all together. Knowing it’s a busy time of year and that our families travel from the midlands down and Devon up we booked well in advance including menu choices (5th of November to be precise). We opted for the festive menu - in hindsight this was a good option as walk ins were told they were not able to order food for a hour or so. With this in mind you would anticipate the selected meal choices - specifically puddings should be available, unfortunately not. What is the use of pre-ordering I hear you say. The pub is dog friendly and some our party bring along their fellow companions, on this occasion just the one. Understandably this means sitting in the bar area. I entered this when booking online and also as the reservation needed changing following booking also informed the staff however on arrival we were seated in the main area on two separate tables. The tables had been prepared lovey party hats, ‘tooters’ crackers and all. However, due to needing to relocate - an error on the part of pub on booking I personally ended up moving all of the items including cutlery across into the main bar area. Very limited staffing numbers?! The food itself is what is expected pub grub with a festive twist to it although the impossible nuggets were just that nuggets in a dish. To sign off in wham style it will be our ‘Last Christmas’ here.

On arrival at the catherines inn which was pre booked we had not enough place settings for starters Then our welcome drinks which were ment to be proseco ended up being bucks fizz (with out the fizz) When it come to main course three were served and no condiments were provided ....... and we were told to wait till every meal had been served ALSO THE CUTLERY WAS DISGUSTING AND NOT CLEAN Also the cauliflower cheese was hard as was the parsnips the stuffing balls were cremated and allmost inedible and the kids meal turned up with red cabbage which the adults meals didnt......... i could go on Also when visiting the toilets they were disgusting and when i let the staff know they were very rude Also seeing as this meal was pre booked the child in my psrty requested a chocolate brownie and then was told they had run out HOW CAN YOU RUN OUT OF PRE ORDERED FOOD Our experince was very disapointing

Came for Christmas dinner. Suppose to get complimentary drink on arrival had to ask. Got starter before first drink. Dinner was average everything was on plate no separate plates to help ourself. Everything was rushed. My cauliflower cheese was a portion same size as my little finger nail. Parsnips were hard and stuffing balls had been over cooked. As everything was pre ordered they still ran out of certain things on the dessert. The service was crap. All lights and music turned off . Lady came to lock up and said sorry didn't know you were still here and we hadn't had our dessert. For the price we paid it wasn't worth it.

It is looking a little worse for ware, and the food is not going to be top end for what your paying for it We had a Sunday roast each I had the Turkey and my wife had the Beef we also had the apple crumble cocktail pitcher which was very pleasant. Food was fine and the service was good-its a Hungry Horse and it does what it says on the packet

Arrived last Saturday at 2pm, upon arrival there was a bag outside which has been ripped open, used nappies and sanitary products all over the floor. We went to the toilets first and it was a complete mess. In the pub, lots of wallpaper was coming up and cellotaped back together. We continued to sit down at a table (most of which were reserved) and ordered at the bar. We ordered the exact same thing as we normally do at other Hungry Horses so knew what to expected expect (chicken and bacon baguette & fish and chips) after waiting 45 minutes I went to the bar to ask how long it was going to take. The lady went and checked and advised that it was next to be plated up. Went back to the table and waited another 20 mins. Food finally arrived and it was quite embarrassing, a very sad looking baguette which looked like it had 1/4 of its filling and a piece of fish which looked like it belonged on the children’s menu + around 8 chips. My partner told the waitress to which she actually agreed. We asked for a manager who did not arrive to the table. Went up to the bar and waited to be acknowledged, ignored by staff members. Eventually caught the manager who advised he had only just arrived. Managed to get a refund for the food eventually. A big waste of 1.5 hours and no food. Avoid at all costs. (I’m not expecting a 5* meal at a hungry horse but what they served I wouldn’t even rate 1*

We were a bit apprehensive after reading the neg revues, but in actual fact we had a really great night, seven of us and we all had good food, good service, and very friendly staff. The sweet nachos for desert is massive, definitely to share.

We were staying nearby and thought we would have a walk over and have our evening meal there (which we have done on numerous occasions) Firstly it was late afternoon and there were a table of rowdy folk (not your fault) and my husband asked for pint of ale - sorry all pipes were being cleaned but could offer bottles, which he had. I had a lovely NZ Sav Blanc and we settled to look at the menu. whilst we were doing this we both felt that the whole place looked decidedly shabby and dirty (the main entrance left a lot to be desired). We decided that we wouldn't eat here. I would mention the members of staff were very friendly

Have heard some good things about this place so thought we would take our chances and it was amazing food and great service with a smile, will definitely be returning.

Don’t waste your time and money it is so badly run and the people who work there are not nice and it is poor quality and the food is disgusting

Ordered food and drink via the app. Ordered the wrong order by mistake. Only found out when the food was being brought to the table. Informed the waitress we were happy to pay for another meal. The manager then came over no idea why, and said we would have to order another meal as the food was cooked and he couldn’t take the money loss. It was how we was spoken to was the problem. Then said could my meal be taken back into the kitchen to keep warm and had a lovely eye roll 🙄 so me and my martinet finished our drinks and left, we didn’t want to pay another penny for horrible service

If you like to get a meal that you didn’t order or shocking staff service then this is your place. Staff constantly moaning and saying sorry we’re not used to it being this busy ( well people this is the food industry you have to expect you are busy) Food looked like it had been thrown on the plate like Gordon Ramsey had found it was raw.

Where do I start. Booked a table no one to greet and direct us. Asked by the bar to wait while he served someone. Ten mins later still waiting asked a waiter who said " just wait" not very helpful ! Food ordered and finally sat down mains came out one was completely wrong ! No offer to change this ... extremely poor service.ive used green king all over tge country and this by far is the worst. Do yourself a favour and use the one a bit further down. Never again will I use this. Green king they are a shame to your name !

Apart from friendly bar staff, I can find no positives to mention. Chicken was overcooked and tough. Only 4 constituent parts to the meal and served with one missing. Waitress obviously upset at having to fetch the missing part as she dumped it unceremoniously on the table. The fish was slightly overcooked but the green beans had been boiled for so long that they were no longer green. Garlic mash was bitter. Car park was badly littered with empty drinks cans, discarded paper and cigarette butts. The wine was good but probably because it didn't arrive via the kitchen.

Well do not know what's gone on with this place we always use to visit here but never again. There was hardly anyone in there but reserved tables every where and turning customers away. We where there for over hour and no one came to sit on the reserved tables.after ordering food was then told get your own cutlery went to but no knifes only 1 asked member of staff for 2 more knifes please was told they where being washed up. We carried on eating food sharing 1 knife between 3 of us as if we had waited the meals would have been cold all the time there still no knifes came out. As we where leaving yet again another family where told the same knifes being washed up so went and advised the family carry on and eat your food as we where told the very same and no knifes have still come out disgusting. To top the lot went to the toilet where 2 were closed off with wet floor signs up and the toilet I used once flushed over flowed.

Amazing service. The staff were obviously so busy and working non stop but they were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic food. Highly recommend.
