Lovely evening, dancing n drinking to a DJ. Prices not bad, bar area quite small n cosy, upstairs toilets lovely .

We held my Mum's wake here as this was her local. Neil, the owner was fantastic in making sure everything was just right and put on an amazing spread of food. The bar staff were brilliant and attentive. Bar prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended. Thanks to everyone at the Hoy!

Clique pub. Mediocre staff. Only pleasant if they accept you as one of their own. They don't do food anymore so previous reviews null and void.

Popped in for one, while my takeaway was being prepared (Balti House 👍). Really great pub, pool table, juke box, TV, open fire. Good beers, friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Wish I could have stayed longer.

As good as ever ! One of the Best places in town for Sunday Lunch.

Pub inside looks very dark, gloomy and rundown.. phone is broken to ring ahead and the number on website doesnt even recognise when calling.

The food was lovely with generous portions , staff are polite and friendly.

While on holiday in the area we wanted to eat out so thought we'd give some of the locals a try. This is a lovely little pub/restaurant with VERY friendly staff and although we were a little late for last food orders they still allowed us to order. And WOW am I glad they did! Now it was only sirloin steak and chips, but it was the first time in a VERY long time that both My wife I had our steaks cooked to exactly our liking, the chips were lovely and fluffy and the onion rings crisp, but light. As for the dessert, the Jam roly poly with custard was lovely but the homemade Lemon cheesecake was AMAZING the base was perfect (not too dry and just moist enough) and was complimented by the light, fluffy, creamy Lemon cheese topping. All in all I would HIGHLY RECOMEND The Hoy for the food, for the service and for the homely pub atmosphere and we will definitely be returning again before our holiday is over.

Absolutely cracking FISH AN CHIP'S, ,Huge portions, Perfect Batter on fish, chips were beautiful too,not oily and soggy ' and the Staff were EXTREMELY POLITE and friendly. Recommend the HOY to ANYONE 👍

Only visited for a quick drink so dont know about the food but told by a local that the food is very good, i will update when we have eaten there. The beer prices are cheap compared to where i live, £2.80 for a pint of Carlsburg pretty good value.

Check their restaurant timings before going in. Most restaurants are closed on Mon/Tuesday. The place is quite nice, warm and cosy.

Had a lovely roast dinner and dessert for the reasonable price of 10.95 would definitely go again .ps get the cheesecake it's fantastic

Super little restaurant small easy uncomplicated menu ,excellent value ,we dine here ALOT,Totally brilliant bar area ,full of friendly locals,lots of little rooms up and down stairs all slightly different plus a pool room ,clean toilets

Good Pub Grub, good quality beers. Eaten here a few times, menu is varied, typical pub grub, chilli, mixed grill, steaks etc, staff are happy to swap chips for baked potatoes, veg for salad, etc nothing is to much trouble Food is always good, service is attentive , and not gonna make a huge hole in your pocket. Leave room for the home made cheese cake - they are to die for. Sunday lunch is plated, choice of meats, and includes a sweet [ and cheesecake is on the list!] Thanks all.

Food is excellent as is the wine. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The bar is also really nice with staff and locals very friendly.

First time at the hoy and a very good first impression, booked for a Sunday lunch and had the food on a table within 10-15 minutes..... will come back the next time I'm in st. Osyth

Popped in while visiting the area. As in was Monday the kitchen was closed, but the staff offered to get us fish and chips, which they did. Good service, good food, good prices. Recommended.

Love the Hoy restaurant and Bar, if your after a lovely fresh tasty home cooked meal this is the place to go, A true family favourite and very welcoming Highly recommend the Lasagne, Sunday roasts and the cheesecakes are amazing! friendly staff and a really nice cosy place in the heart of st osyth. Really good food and and drinks. Chilled out atmosphere, cannot eat my Sunday dinner have to bring my dessert home. Excellent value love the draft corona and the cheesecake is the bomb.

If your looking for a tasty fresh home cooked food the restaurant at the Hoy has to be the number one choice. Excellent menu something for everyone it’s our regular pub / restaurant and the food & service is always consistent.

The Landlord & staff couldn't have made myself, my family & our dog more welcome. They went out of their way to accommodate us. What a super friendly place. Highly recommended.
