I've been to The Horseshoes in Silk Willoughby a few times now, and I just have to share how amazing my meal was on Friday! This place serves good, honest pub grub, but they really know how to do it right. Everything was delicious, and I finished off with an exceptional Irish Coffee—what more could you ask for? The food is amazing, the atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the staff are brilliant. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out!

Menu isn't 7 days a week so always check but what they do have is varied, from budget friendly to great steaks. Independently owned pub with a landlord that looks after his real Ales as do all the staff, the place is very friendly and allows dogs. The seniors menu has made the place very popular so occasionally you have to wait but the staff are always honest and will say in advance if there's any issues. Brilliant to watch a place finally recover after lockdown, difficult times are hopefully in the past 😺

We love the decor we found menu a bit limited and the pie was not to our taste The food was hot and the prawn cocktail was amazing loads of prawns However we found the risotto to be a bit bland and the beef a bit chewy .All the other food ordered was good. The service was good at first but a second drink order did not arrive and we had go to bar We were given the dessert menu but no one came back to take our order so we gave up after about 15mins and went to bar and asked for the bill. There was another big table there but it wasn't especially busy aside from that The staff were friendly and attentive when they did come Overall a bit disappointing

I was part of a large group of people who lunch regularly at various restaurants in the area. We were very impressed by quality of the food, really efficient service and the lovely welcome welcome we were given. We will certainly be back. I couldn't possibly give less than five well-deserved stars :-)

Found this place by accident whilst going for a meeting nearby. My wife was hungry and just happened to see the pub sign so we popped in the first time was for brunch - WOW the breakfast was amazing with fantastic portions ( i couldn't eat all mine so took the sausages home for the dog !!) the service was very good with very helpful, friendly staff and was excellent value for money. The second visit was a week later and we thought we would try it again, once again a lovely welcome with great service, large portions and very tasty hot food and again excellent value. The staff are lovely and welcoming and made us feel at home. 10/10 The food was freshly cooked and hot, the toilets were spotless and plenty of free car parking.

We opted for a “posh” restaurant, but that was full!! Second choice, the Horseshoes in a local village. Well this should have been the first choice, pleasant staff, great location, it even has a log burner, my favourite. Now the food, absolutely delicious, chips were out of this world, great burgers, I had extras of course! The scampi, I was told, one of the best! This is the sort of pub you want next door to your house, please try if you are in the area.

Such friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere, too. We had the Snrs. Lunch. We chose 2 courses at £10.95 each. You can choose 3 courses for an extra £2. Our meal was beautifully cooked and presented but still a bit too much for us! This is a dog-friendly pub. There is an outside garden for sunny days. We have now visited twice and plan to do so again.

Attended on a Saturday evening at 6pm, three tables in use, in the bar area, with food, several others empty, unreceptive staff. Sorry we’re taking no more orders, we were a family of four wanting bar food from a new menu just released, lots of money spent in house to revamp the bar and restaurant. Don’t go, need far more work on the service before being popular.

A large group of us came here for dinner on a Saturday evening. Luckily we’d booked a table as it was busy (always a good sign!) The menu is standard pub grub - burgers, pies, steaks, etc., so nothing spectacular but decent portions and everything tasted great. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive. If you want a hearty, no-frills meal with nice atmosphere and prompt service then this the ideal place!

I dropped into this pub with my wife and vegetarian daughter for a lunchtime meal, and was none too impresed with the dried meat pie that I was served, my wife had the pannini, and the grease content oozing from the pastry was appalling, the vegetarian options were poor, and when we saw the price of the deserts, we all decided to pass on even considering anything so over priced that was on offer. And to charge extra for sachets of sauces to go with your meal really takes the biscuit where sheer greed is concerned. I can most certainly say that any thought of a return visit would be completely out of the question, and I would say to anyone contemplating a visit, I thought Dick Turpin wore a mask!!

A group booking for 10 on a Saturday Lunchtime. We had planned ahead so the orders had been given to the pub before we arrived. Decent (not overly large) range of real ales. The food was served quickly and was very tasty (Steak & Ale pie was very good). Dessert were ordered after the meal, and again came without to much delay. Decor is a bit bland but good place for a quick meal.

A lovely lunch after a Remembrance Day ceremony. One vegetarian asparagus pie, roast beef and roast pork dinners. One gluten and dairy free diner in our group. All excellently catered for. The food was hot and quickly served. Fortunately the menu was limited so there was no long wait for decisions or preparation in the kitchen. None of us had a starter but we all had a pudding. Again, a good variety on a limited menu. Nothing was left on our plates.

We were very disappointed that Sunday roast was not being served on a Sunday, apparently they don’t do it through the summer. Never heard this before how very odd. We weren’t advised of this when we booked even though we had a conversation about a child’s Sunday lunch. The menu was not inviting. Everything came with chips and not a vegetable in sight. There was no lasagne left either despite us being the first ones in the restaurant. We ate pie and chips. To be fair the pie was nice but it wasn’t roast beef was it. The place looks tired, wallpaper is stained and peeling off the wall. The table decorations are naff. Wouldn’t bother again.

Service was great and friendly place , main courses basic pub food but not bad and again nicely served . Deserts a joke , over a fiver for two meringue nests with cream and a dozen raspberries! The hot pudding similarly expensive for what looked like microwave sponge and hardly mixed packet custard . Real shame as it's a lovely village pub but I can cook better.

We booked this restaurant for our family to celebrate recent birthdays, there were 9 adults (one being 95 years old) and 3 children. They served meals from 12 noon onwards which meant we could go at the time we wanted and not wait until 6pm for them to open. We were greeted very warmly by the landlord and then by the waitress who went out of her way to make the children feel that they were very important and very welcome. The service was excellent and the food was delicious, I never heard anyone say that they were not satisfied. Whatever we requested was no trouble from the youngest to the oldest, whether it was portion size or flavour. We will certainly go back there especially as the prices were very reasonable too. The decor was very nice and everywhere was spotlessly clean, there was a really nice atmosphere in the bar and in the restaurant, well worth a visit.

We visited this pub for an evening meal after searching for somewhere new to try locally. We were not disappointed, on arrival even the barman was busy he greeted us and said he wouldn't be long. We were shown to our table by our waiter who was polite, attentive and courteous throughout our meal. the food was lovely and the portions were a good size, we could of even just had a main and felt satisfied. My one negative would be the bar area is a little bare, near the log burner (electric) a nice seating area and table would make a massive difference. We will be definitely going back again.

The staff, waitresses, and owner were very keen to correct a food order error for an average sized group, and sorted it amicably, and to our full satisfaction. The service was excellent, but I regret the main courses fell far short of the required standard - dry and over cooked beef and roast potatoes, and a similar story with the other main dishes. A good ambience but the chef needs to meet the standard expected in the menu description.

Myself, my wife and our two children decided to try somewhere new for Sunday lunch. The interior is bright, clean and modern whilst retaining the feeling of a traditional village pub. We received a warm welcome from the bar staff (and other patrons) and, despite not having booked a table, were quickly seated and given a menu. We were asked if we would like to eat in the main bar or restaurant. We were already seated in the bar and decided to stay there. There was a choice of three roasts, turkey, beef and pork. Our order was taken promptly. Both children chose Turkey, my wife chose beef and I had the pork. We were asked if the children would like children's portions. The food arrived quickly and was all piping hot. All three meats were tasty and tender, there was a good selection of well cooked vegetables, the turkey came with stuffing and all dishes came with yorkshire pudding. The portions were of a good size and all four of us thoroughly enjoyed our food - the children stating that we can "come here again".There was a wide selection of desserts. Between us we had lemon tart, strawberry cheesecake and strawberry ice cream. Again, everyone enjoyed their desserts. The staff were smart, polite and friendly. They checked on more than one occasion that we were happy with our food and had everything that we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit and intend to go back again.

The bar is smart; contemporary meets traditional. We went as a group of 4 and ate in the restaurant. We were all disappointed by the food (we're far from fussy eaters), and left more on the plates than we ate. The King Prawns were frozen, commercial and overlooked. The chips were homemade, but had been overcooked, described by one diner as 'crunchy'. Just disappointing as the food did not seem to meet the aspirations of the pub.

I can't believe this is the first review! We stumbled on this village pub after buying a car from an even smaller village nearby. We were offered a good choice of meat for Sunday lunch. The pub looked recently decorated, with a very attractive dining area. The waiting staff were courteous and helpful, and did not mind when my chatty son wanted to show them his "treasure" he found with his metal detector. The food was prepared to an exceptionally high standard. I had lamb, packed full of flavour, and we had dishes to share of vegetables and cauliflower cheese. The parsnips were the best I have ever tasted. To top off the meal, the bill was amazingly reasonable. We are just sorry we do not live more locally!

After a long mornings work from 2am to 1pm I arranged to meet my wife for a chilled drink before heading home. We decided to meet and try out our local pub, The Lincoln Green as we understood it is under new owners and would like to support it.. Sadly on being asked if we were drinking only I was asked if we would go into the bar area. The lady was friendly and I have absolutely no issues with her as this is obviously(in my view) a very misguided policy. I informed her that we would not wish to do that as in the past we have found it cold with wooden floors which when the football is on makes it noisy. I have no issues with this in general as I enjoy watching football and make special trips to do so at pubs for the atmosphere but on this occasion myself and my wife just wanted a quiet, comfortable drink together. I explained this and added that the comfortable restaurant was totally empty. We were offered the chance begrudgingly to sit tucked around the corner as a large table(15 which soon turned to 8) was expected shortly. She declared that on this occasion we could but she had to state she couldn't promise in the future. I told her that we wouldn't waste our time trying in the future. We will just go straight to the CENTURION or HARROWS where we know we can sit in comfort and nice decoration for a quiet drink. Things I don't understand-1) if I was eating I would much prefer some atmosphere with some drinkers as opposed to an empty restaurant. 2) Had it been 11.30 with the possibility of a full restaurant I can understand not wishing to take tables but this was 2pm and totally empty. 3) we were not a noisy group who would be shouting and swearing and could spoil someone's dining experience 4) Surely a pub should be able to cater for diners, sports and football fans AND couples hoping for just a nice drink. Sadly, unless this policy changes we will not be back(unless to watch the football)
