If you’re in the area you MUST visit here. Amazing hospitality and even better food for sensible prices. Portion sizes are old school but the flavour is awesome!!! You really must visit.

Booked by my wife for my birthday meal. Was greeted in a friendly manner and shown to our table. The food and drinks were served promptly. I had the Gammon and must admit I found it rather salty. The pub was very quiet but we had an enjoyable evening.

12 of us went for a 65th birthday meal, on arrival the first impression was this place is a bit old and dated but clean and friendly staff. The food was absolutely fantastic and portion sizes were huge. The only thing we were left disappointed in was the fact they were fully booked for the following night so we couldn’t return! Would highly recommend this place and we will definitely visit again when back in the area.

My wife and I were visiting the area and we decided to give the Inn a visit after looking at some online reviews. Pleasant country inn with an authentic feel and very welcoming staff and hosts who couldn't be more helpful or attentive. I sampled some of the local beer which was delicious and my wife some of a local cider . I had the salad with a generous helping of locally smoked salmon and prawns amazing and my wife had chicken in a white sauce with generous amounts of veg and massive tasty potato wedges which she thoroughly enjoyed. Its great to have authentic home cooked food and this is becoming less common in pubs where the food is often bought in pre prepared. We were asked if we would like dessert which I would have loved but we were just too full although we did have another drink each to cap off the lovely meal. Would definitely visit again if we came back to Northumberland on a visit. A real asset to a beautiful County.

We visit the Horseshoes as often as we can with our 3 kids!! Mark and Louise are the most friendliest hosts ever!! Always make a fuss of children, friendly and accommodating!! The food is fab!! Never had a bad meal, generous portions, always clean plates from us!! We always know we'll have a delicious lunch when we come. Thanks guys, keep doing what your doing and dont ever change!! We decided to come here after reading the excellent reviews to celebrate my husbands birthday. The food was outstanding and all food was freshly prepared. Like several other reviews the portion sizes were very generous so you will definately not be leaving hungry. The staff are friendly and welcoming so if you are looking for a lovely meal at a reasonable price then this is the place to go. We will definately revisit if we are in the area again Well done and keep up the great service

Lovely, tasty fresh food and very good service. We had our dog with us and they had set us a table up in the bar area which was a great spot. Staff were helpful and attentive, as others have said the portions are more than generous so we did have to take a box home. Lots of produce is locally sourced. Well worth a visit

What more can I say, but the food in here is absolutely tremendous 👍🏻, I can fully recommend the fish finger sandwich (real fresh Cod) it's massive. The cost of the food is good, we will definitely be back ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, oh and it's also dog friendly 🐶

We have just returned from the most amazing Sunday lunch. Gorgeous Prawn Cocktail to start then an outstanding Beef and Pork Roast. Really fabulous fresh vegetables and all the trimmings, portions are massive so we took a doggy bag back with us. Staff are so friendly and attentive.Thanks for a wonderful time! Went here today with my family and the food was absolutely beautiful.
