Fantastic location close to Nash Point. Somewhat frosty welcome from whom we took to be the landlady but other staff were much friendlier. Garden could do with more maintenance (dogs not allowed inside) but the food was better than expected albeit not spectacular. Butty Bach on draft which is always welcome.

We like to try new places for food and The Horseshoes was once a thriving place, good food, good atmosphere.... I don't know what has happened, but it is no longer either of the above. The food was terrible. The lasagne was dry, (definitely not homemade) chips were overdone and the garlic bread looked like it had been heated up in the microwave. The menu needs updating as does the chef. Not somewhere I will be recommending for sure..

It’s a lovely venue with nice clientele but the owner is abhorrent. We spent the afternoon here as a group eating and drinking; the customer service is the worst I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen more enthusiasm from a death row inmate than from the bar owner. It’s a good pub that deserves to survive but not under the current management. Do at your own peril

Visited this pub over Platinum Jubilee weekend and booked a table for 7.30pm to allow plenty of time before food service stopped at 9pm (as advertised). Only when we were buying drinks at the bar were we told that the kitchen closed at 8pm and therefore we needed to order quickly, and our pudding too. This wasn’t a good start and felt really rushed. Beer was nice apparently and the food was ok but not great. The portions of chips were far too small and most were overcooked. The meat pie wasn’t really what we were hoping for - it was basically a casserole with a disc of puff pastry on top. A traditional double crust pie would have been so much nicer. Desserts were ok - chocolate fudge cake was warm and delicious but spotted dick rather dry. One of our party specifically requested plenty of custard but the half-filled (tiny) jug of custard that arrived was frankly pathetic. Why ask customers exactly what they’d like, promise the world and then fail. Could have been so much better. On our walk home one of the locals overheard us talking and confirmed our views that the food was poor. Apparently the menu hasn’t changed in 11 years………

We went at the weekend and were suprised to find -a soon as we walked in -a group of 6 or 7 lads together . They soon left and we sat at a table we're another group of 6 young people are allowed to sit together ! They frequently went up to the bar- not wearing masks. The menus were plastic coated but not once did I see them wiped over or cleaned, as customers left , the tables were wiped down only with a cloth , I did not see any anti-virus spray being used to clean the tables thoroughly or to clean the menus . There was a sign to say say about track and trace but we did not see it anywhere and were not asked to leave any of our details. The food is nice there, which is why we went, but won't go again until the virus is under control.

Having eaten here a lot over the last few years, we were incredibly disappointed. You know it's going to end badly when you over hear the chef say to the waitress with your order that he will do it 'depending on what it is'. Chef ...sorry cook...dressed in jeans and tshirt as was waiting staff...leggings and a hoodie. Just ordered a sharing combo....and as if punishment for ordering fried food it truly was terrible.Sharing platter yet only 1 bries, 1 pepper and 1 pakora with the bulk made up of low cost wedges and onion rings. It's a sharing platter...at least give 2 of everything!Waitress didn't seem to get our issues just saying 'that's the portion'. Cook sent out another go....yet again 1 brie, 1 pepper, 1 pakora! I've managed pubs and I'd have sent several of each if I'd have had this complaint £11.95 total RIP off. 1230 on a Sunday and place was empty and I'm not surprised.Sadly another place we uses to love that has gone to the dogs

A quick stop while exploring the coast. The large beer garden is ideal for social distancing, scattered tables under gazebos and dog friendly. It has the largest fire-pit I've ever seen which I assume is used in the evenings to keep the customers warm. It's a nice old country pub. Great ale. Good coffee. We shared a ploughman's baguette which was very good value and served with the most amazing ?triple cooked? chips. The only thing that needs work; a slightly sullen young lad who is waiting could do with some additional training. Our decision to eat at this establishment was informed by the displayed food hygiene rating of 4/5 (Good).

We've been going there for years and have never had a bad meal, we also take many of our friends there who live further afield. It's warm and cosy and has a welcoming ambience. Probably the most unfriendliest pub I have been to. The service was diabolical with rude untrained staff. My food was brought to the table and all the chips fell off the plate onto the table which by the way was not even cleaned after the last customers. The waiter just walked away and left my food all over the table with no apology. I asked him to get more chips. He then with his hands picked up the chips and put them on my plate expecting me to eat them. I could not believe it. I then asked him to get clean chips. He walked away and was back within seconds with I assume the same chips. No apology. No table manners. Absolutely shocking.

Had a birthday party here, venue is an absolute steal for free we just paid for a cocktail tree to secure. We were given free reign to decorate and the music which was good and the party itself was good. However organisation and communication from the owner was lacking, we were told we had the venue till 7pm, then at 4pm receive via a text that we had to leave - I still had guests! We compromised on clearing the food table, however the bar staff made it very obvious they wanted us gone by their general attitude which was a real shame as we had such a great time previously and could have been prevented with better communication and planning. There is also only 1 toilet upstairs which is in desperate need of renovating and didn't have enough loo roll or soap to even last the first hour of the party. I'd come here again for drinks as they are very good, however I'd be hesitant to recommend as a party venue.
