Fantastic home cooked treats both savory and sweet. Coffee amazing and view of the river from your seats. Perfect scenario on summer's day

I can highly recommend The Horsebox Bakery! Always a warm welcome from the staff, DELICIOUS hand made cakes, savouries breakfasts and lunches. Huge portions. Coffee is fabulous and all with a wonderful view of the river. Do not hesitate visiting. I visit regularly and am NEVER disappointed!

This is a lovely little place next to the river to stop and grab a drink and light snack but does need some minor improvements. Handling of food without gloves or utensils isn’t great and I am sure probably breaks some health and safety rules. I could ignore this though as I am sure I have eaten in dirtier restaurants than someone’s hands but if the wrong person saw this it wouldn’t be great for business. We ordered food a coffee and a tea. We were told there would be a delay in the drinks which we were happy with and took a seat outside with our food. Someone who ordered before us received their drink about 10 minutes later. We were then disappointed to see that people who had ordered before that person were still waiting for their drinks. It’s like if you’re a local or a regular you get special treatment which tbh just put us off. I can’t tell you the exact time but it was a reasonable wait for our drinks. The tea was tasteless and was like water and milk. I ended up throwing it away. It’s a great spot and can be a great place but I visited the tea house next to Allington Lock today and had an amazing experience and hope that the Horsebox can be as good as them with some minor tweaks.

Lovely surprise on a muddy walk along the Medway! Previously we had visited when they operated from the Horsebox! Now in the old Riverside restaurant- serving soups, delicious pastries and homemade cakes! Friendly staff definitely we will be back!

Newly opened in the former Riverside restaurant building. This is a central location next to the railway and on the river. The welcome is warm, the drinks tasty, the service friendly and the cakes look out of this world!
