Owners dogs in the restaurant/lounge area not appropriate. Puts people off because eating here should be free from pets

Its a nice enough pub to drop into for a pint. All the people seemed nice enough, but it is exactly that, a pub not much else.

Went here with my new manager for lunch, and were treated all the way. Good food, good drinks, nice staff and clean and tidy building, really enjoyed ourselves.

paid a visit again to this place not from my choice as it was a 85th birthday get together, after waiting nearly an hour my food was burnt and un edible , three people had the pie , the pies were disgusting, the so called meat was like pieces of wood and the pastry was as tough as old boots, when I told the landlord that my uncle could not cut his pastry he fetched a steak knife!!!! and the knife was dirty!! all of this and the landlord did not seem to care at all. bad reviews on face book as well . I would not advise eating here at all

after visiting this pub and ordering a meal I nearly choked on a large piece of plastic , another in the party had an over cooked dry sausage and another had cold chips , after complaining about the plastic in the food a waitress was sent to say sorry but no sign of the manger . i was offered a small slice of pudding as compensation ! after nearly choking I think that was very poor. I did email the horse and groom after a couple of days and surprise surprise no answer came back . we were the only people eating that night and now i know why. shame on you horse and groom the food is overpriced for what it is

Service was slow, took a while to get my food but I guess it's okay if you're just there to sit and chat, which a lot of the customers like to do. I ordered the jacket potato with bean and cheese, the portion was an okay size. I did ask for more cheese but don't feel like it had a lot as it was just on the top. The potato was a bit dry, they didn't put any butter in the potato. Overall, it's quite pricey but a nice little place to come for a cup of tea.

Staff is super friendly, and the food is always excellent. Have been here 3 times now, and haven't been disappointed at all!

Used to be a lovely cafe with some gluten-free options for cakes. Unfortunately for the last few visits there hasn't been anything available and now they are reducing their options further.

We ordered 2 breakfasts, 1 vegan breakfast and 1 small breakfast. The food arrived very quickly, but the breakfast was average but also cheap. Personally wouldn’t recommend the vegan breakfast, as there are better options in the area. But overall not too bad, average!
