This Pub had a deal on this Sunday for Sunday roasts. Me and the family ventured down with some family friends. The booth was inside and reminded me of my school's heater plates things- I don't know my share of technology and STEM. The food was quite mediocre and, basically a downgraded Wetherspoons for me. The beef was a little dry and really...hard? The mash was a little lumpy but really really nice and creamy- much like 'American mash' which I am prone to enjoying. The carrots, well my portion was more on the hard side. The Yorkshire puds were really nice not too soft, nor crunchy. The toilet was very average. The spirit of the pub was very traditional and the walls were decorated with signed jerseys from players such as Neymar JR, Ronaldo and someone else famous. On a previous trek to this pub, there was a deal on pizzas. So naturally, Dad brought the 'lads'. They were absolutely impeccable and felt like a steal for their price. The dogs on this day, imparticularly, were very hot and were treated with ice in their water. This was complimentary. One note: due to the heat of the day, the mental bowl became very hot and burnt my fingers and the dogs' chins ever so slightly. DISCLAIMER: THE DOGS WERE FINE. NO SERIOUS INJURIES OCCURED AT THIS PUB. I'd recommend this Pub for drinks with friends mainly, watching Sports, bang fir your buck food wise and the pizzas !

We’ve eaten a few stunning meals from the Horse & Jockey Over the past 8 month. The Sunday lunches are really tasty and seem good value. The burger and chips take-a-way feast was filling to say the least. The chips were dark brown and just reminded me of childhood, when food was an art. My favourite with Sunday lunch was the delightful cauliflower cheese. In short great value, children like visiting; recommend anyone to try here.

Don't be decieved but the nice exterior, very dated interior and, even though they had red wine, they didn't have a corkscrew!!! Won't return.

A lot of noisy children early evening but overall a good night. Good atmosphere. New landlord making a great effort to make the pub a success. Best of luck to him.

Jus had a Sunday Dinner from The Horse and Jockey, takeaway. I had all the works and they had a creamy chicken n ham pie on which I had to try. I know the food there is fantastic as I’ve dined there before, but I just had to pay special mention to the pie. The crust was lovely, not too thick like most. But the meat inside was gorgeous, big succulent chunks of chicken and ham complemented by a lush creamy sauce. Top marks people, thank you!

Having been told by neighbours that this pub has just changed hands and the food was good we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We had starters (both very tasty) & rump steak which we asked for medium rare and they were perfect. We were impressed especially as the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be going back soon.

understood to have new owners and re furbished. called as it was advertised as having 'good selection of beers' and the adverts and signage outside all advertise 'cask ales' which to me means 'real hand pulled ales'.... called in for a quick drink and on approaching the bar saw a pump advertising Doonbar ale and adjacent to it one for Pravha larger.... both pumps illuminated.... order drinks from both to be told 'we dont' sell them'..... 'what?' i asked 'so you don't have any real ales on?'....'No' but we do have these.... and we were offered electric beer and larger.... as a result we left and went elsewhere. sadly if you advertise 'CASK ALES' on your pub and adverts i would expect a hand pulled pint not FIZ ..... not one for Camra members.... shame

I went to the newly re-opened Horse & Jockey last night with my family and had a fab meal. We were a table of 6 and the dishes came out at the same time and it was all piping hot. We were also informed that last night was actually the first night the pub had started serving food, but we would never have known this, if we hadn’t been informed. We had lovely food at a great price. Billy, the new Landlord, was very welcoming too. Wishing this pub all the luck in the world. We’ll definitely be back and we’ll recommend it to everyone 😊

Called in for a drink and to have some time with the wife. The pub is ok decent prices and some foot facilities pool table that type of thing. Although I wanted it to be more with it being in a nice village I thought it might be more homely and welcoming.

Went here for lunch. The menu is small at lunchtime. Half a Piri Piri Chicken, Scampi, Lasagne or Sandwich, all served with chips and peas or chips and salad.£5 each or 2 for £8.The portions were generous, the food all hot and freshly cooked. We tried the chicken, scampi and lasagne. They were all good. The staff were pleasant and there was a lovely blazing log fire. The evening menu is larger served from 5 o'clock, example, gammon with the trimmings £6.95.
