this pub is amazing for a laugh and the staff are lovely , always welcoming and speedy. We didn’t eat a meal just little picky bits but still hit the spot !

Gorgeous Sunday carvery for a fraction of the price you pay at other places! Spent time in the soft play also which our son loved, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We will be back for the bank holiday funday 😁

Absolutely fab venue to hold a party!! We had my Auntie’s birthday party in the separate room at the front of pub. The food was delicious we had the silver buffet omg gorgeous and lots of it. Staff really helpful couldn’t do enough for us would highly recommend thank you so much for making it such a lovely day with family and friends

Visited the horse and jockey at the weekend with the wife and the kids as it has a soft play to the side of it From arriving to leaving we were hounded to leave a review so I will ! Food was less than average service was none existant no check backs and plates just left on table until we left Management and girl on the bar pestering everyone for reviews We much prefer the centenary much better atmosphere no pushy management desperate for a bonus by the sounds of things . We will stick to where we know in the future

Waited too long for food . The place was almost empty so no excuses really Food finally arrived and was cold chips looked old and tasted like they has been heated back up in the microwave portions were tiny for the kids over 5 meals Ice creams came and were melted ! Staff couldn't care less to busy stood talking among themselves just making guests feel like a burden Do not waste money go elsewhere

took my niece and nephew to fuzzys eds the doors were locked I asked at the bar if it was opening because there was a sign behind the door saying closed for a private party was told by the lady behind the bar “ In a while “ I said I thought it was 11 “she said theres no staff what do you want me to do I cant be everywhere” a few minutes later a young girl opened the door we went in there was bits of food all over the floor the play equipment was filthy especially the orange mat near the ball pool my niece and nephew came down and said there was pile of bloody tissues at the top we told the young girl who went and got them then went back to sitting on her phone it was also absolutely freezing! wont be going back anytime soon

A great Sunday well spent. First we had carvery. Service at the bar was easy. We opened a tab. Carvery was tender and succulent. Service from Dan was great. Welcoming and friendly. We then went into the Fuzzy Ed’s play area. A vast improvement has been made since we last visited. Atmosphere was great. Thanks for a lovely experience

Went up for a Carvery, great atmosphere, quick and friendly service, shame about the guy on the carvery leaving, nothing was too much trouble. Staff are friendly and polite, nothing was too much trouble. Carvery was spot on as usual, fresh meat, in fact everything was so fresh and very filling.

Dans service was fantastic, he went above and beyond for us and we will definitely be returning in the near future! The jerk skewers were lovely

Fantastic Carvery for our sons 10th Birthday, our waiting staff Marie was amazing and polite, and the manager kindly gave the kids all party hats out of the blue and was very kind to them. Would definately return.

Breakfast absolutely bang on for £4.99 the female staff lovely. Shame about the male manager who spoke to people like dirt, very very rude, no wonder the place was empty.

Nice food, clean and tidy, quick service and lovely friendly North Eastern hospitality. Just what we needed. Right near the local hospital which is really handy while I've been visiting a loved one.

Well we are regulars to the soft play and today ordered the boneless banquet that feeds 3 to share for £10:99 well omg absolutely appalling portion size. Especially in todays cost of living .. absolutely love the soft play and staff but today never again on food

Excellent visit. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Always a staff member ready to help and answer any questions. Children enjoyed the play area. Unfortunately my eldest was too tall for the play area but staff explained to him about this and were so kind to him. Would definitely go back and try different things on the menu each time as they all looked so good.

Informed after about 30 mins after ordering , that there was no skillets so would have to be served on plates . Ok. But can't of had a frying pan neither as no onions or peppers as advertised on menu.Needless to say i will not be going again nor would i recommend.Really disappionted.

Took our granddaughter to soft play, ordered food, tikka masala was absolutely discusting. Paid extra for onion bhaji and not sure what it was. The whole thing was microwaved for far to long . I complained and the brought me more bhaji that were still frozen in the middle. The rice was hard the naan was rock solid. I asked for my money back and manager handed me a £10 note instead of putting the full amount of £10.75 back on my bank card and said what's 75p. Granddaughter only got 20 mins play time as eating food is included in the play time slot. So absolutely appalling disgusting food disgusting service and not sure how this place stays open. We hate going into eatery places when it just seems acceptable to place a plate of rubbish in front of you and they expect you to eat it and say nothing when you have paid good money. Will not be returning

We cancelled our meal after waiting just over an hour for our food. We were not told there would be a long wait and pub only looked a third full if that. We got a refund and left with hungry, upset children who had been so patient. Will never be going back there.

We called in here for something to eat as we had been out all day. we are a family of five and it looked ok. We ordered and i ordered the mixed grill, had to wait a long time and when it came i couldn't believe what they had served me, everything was burnt the steak was uneatable tough and burnt to a crisp, I tried to find somebody to complain to but they were all busy elsewhere, My daughter and grandchildren were getting upset by me being upset, The wait on the deserts was way too long. I will never eat here again no matter how hungry I am, They should feel ashamed serving up a meal like that. Oh, and the Egg which was thrown on top of the gammon look liked it was dropped on the floor!!!!

Visited 05/06/21, food was fantastic and although was fairly busy didn’t have to wait long. Staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble, will definitely return and would highly recommend

Visited today 25/5/21 1st time out after lockdown. The pub was virtually empty, had to give lots of information before being allocated a table . No light bites or club sandwich meals , anymore, drinks are very pricey. Ordered our meal & hot drinks , Hot chocolate was not hot or very chocolatey . 2 more couples arrived & were allocated seating very near too us ! ( Social distancing ? ) In a nearly empty pub ? We couldn't understand why , not impressed & won't be returning . Think the pub will suffer if it doesn't change the Menu .

Staff rude. Got drinks, and no communication from Jessica behind the bar too busy chatting with a member of staff this happened all four times I went to the bar. Pint was flat before got to the table. Food was nice but it was shot on the table and she walked off. No check back at all. Plates left for ages before anyone came over. Never again will I be coming back after visiting the pied piper that's a sizzling the is the total opposite. Sizzling need to sort there staff out, centenary is the same awful rude staff.

Ate lunch with my Mam and a friend. Food came out and it was tiny portions and stone cold. The jacket potato had practically a teaspoon of baked beans on it and looked nothing like the photo on the menus. The girl serving was very apologetic and sorted it straight away. Second lot of meals were much better but can’t believe some numpty thought it acceptable to send the first meals out! The girls serving was way too good to work there and deserves a pay rise. We won’t be going back.

Refused service for no reason, the quality of food and service is shocking. At one point the place had good service but due to poor management they have lost any staff with any customer service skill and left with lazy staff that leave the bar unattended for tens of minutes at a time. Deb's in particular shows poor customer service. Try anywhere else

We enjoy our visits but note that the real ale runs out and then stays off. Suggest that cellars are stocked ALL staff are trained to clean systems and put ale back on. It's a quick job and no need to make hard work of it. Other pubs manage ok.We left today and went elsewhere. Thanks

Called here today, the service was appalling. Only one person serving behind the bar. We waited 15 minutes to be served - gave up as there was no sign on being served. The food was not very special. Won't be in a hurry to return

Called with grandchildren but at 7pm on Saturday to find too late for kids to use play area, they were very disappointed, so we had good only. Kids had children's menu and enjoyed their mains but really linked desserts build a sundae. I had scampi chips where fab old fashioned chips. My husband had burger and he's very fussy about his burgers but he loved it. Well priced for 3 kids and 2 adults £50.00 no starts and only kids desserts but still good the menu had some good choices so for a family meal well worth a visit

Been for lunch had the 2 meal for £10 we both had gammon, The meat was cooked to perfection and the whole meal was nice we definitely will be back and reccomend this place.

Went for Sunday lunch, had to wait for the beef and Yorkshire puddings then while getting veg a lady put 2 plates back on the counter saying” that’s disgusting, the meat is horrible”.I have to agree with the lady, the beef was very dry and tough, the roast potatoes, cauliflower and swede were undercooked and the Yorkshire pudding was rubbery. It is the worst carvery I have ever had.

Fabulous food, very good price. Friendly welcome. Went on the off chance for sunday lunch and we were not disappointed. Find a table and order at the bar. Nice and simple. Fast service. Very popular with the locals. Would visit again during the week for one of their many offers.

I went for lunch with my husband today at the horse and jockey wasn’t impressed at all my curry came out cold chips weren’t hot either my husband ordered a chicken sizzler which was ok apart from they forgot to put the onion bahji s on the meal 3 mistakes on one order is pretty bad the pub wasn’t even that busy the girl in charge sorted the food out for me did offer us free sweet for the bad service would I go back there very doubtful

Disappointed in service, server was pleasant but the length of time we waited for our food was not (45 minutes), i went with a person i support, fortunately he doesnt mind waiting as long as he has something to drink, if it had been any of the other people i support we would have lost our money as we would have had to leave before the food came. we enjoyed our meals when they did come, but it would have been nice to be informed of the waiting time.

Called in for a pub lunch .was not disappointed.I had a tandoori burger and the other half had american platter .I ended up eating some of hers as it was enormous

Although the posters and signs outside invite you to come in and watch the Six Nations Rugby they refuse to put the Rugby on, asked twice for the England Itay game to be put on today it didnt happen ended up missing the first 15 minutes of the game then went elsewhere to watch it. If you have no intention of putting the Rugby on dont advertise and invite people in to watch it.

Very friendly staff, good quality food at decent prices. The only thing to criticise would be the time we had to wait for the food to come, when there weren't that many people in.

Came in and served quickly by friendly staff. Food was quick to arrive, hot and very tasty. Staff were helpful, especially Ben went out of his way to make our visit fantastic. Back again in a few weeks for the festive menu.

Ordered food at bar before waiting 45 minutes for food partner ordered pie and chips and I ordered a lasagne food arrived with rotten soft salad no replacement returned the garlic had been burnt would was a little edible and lasagne was short of a pasta sheet or two.

Myself and my wife have just had a meal very nice good service the youn g guy called Paul looked after us can only say first class and more than anythink service with a smile good value also the chef first class also called paul get your self there great value nice atmosphere yes we will come back also the Bar Staff service with a smile it goes a long way with me

Went for brekkie.. told from woman behind the bar..no eggs... so unlimited brekkie minus any eggs.. not a great start is it? all food cold.. hairs wrapped around my sausage.. bad service and bad food.. never ever again

As a family we choose a central location for everyone to meet and have a meal together there was 14 of us. When we arrived we were told there is no chicken at all ! 3 people had chosen mixed grill so the chicken breast was substituted with a sausage (Not really a worthy substitute) all our meals arrived staggered with a big time lapse inbetween so some of our party had finished before the other meals had arrived ! 2 x people ordered the burgers and both wasted them as they were cold and tasted terrible but due to the rest of the party practically finished they just left them and ate the chips! Some items were missing off the plates of food and had to complain when the items finally came out the rest of the food had gone cold ! All in all it was a terrible experience and spoilt my nephews birthday we have not eaten here in a while but it was never like this we used to enjoy eating here I can honestly say I will never go back and I definitely would recommend choosing Some where else I don't know what has happened to this place but it certainly needs looking at

Came for food with my fella we ordered fish and chips and chicken curry along with a salad and bread. Firstly we ordered brown bread and was given white. Then i asked for chips with my curry and was given rice. To top it all off I ordered a side salad and there was an ant at the bottom of the bowl. Staff were more than accommodating giving a voucher off the next time

Me and my wife went for tea at teatime before we went out..well we wish we hadn't bothered.. I got the crispy chilli beef and it was inedible..it was that crispy I couldn't taste the beef the poppadom was over cooked and I couldn't even bite it..I might as well have bought a sizzling plate of onions...we visit regularly and the old landlady and chef would not have produced that...not eating there ever again !!

After last fiasco there our friends thought we should all try again...all I can say is NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN!!!

Haven’t been for years so I called in after work on a Saturday about 13:00, waited forever for food it wasn’t even busy, I eventually cancelled and got my money back for everything including my drinks, Gordon Ramsey wouldn’t stand for it why should I lol

Not been here for a few months, but the place has gone to the dogs. Many tables hadn't been cleared at around 7pm, and staff just lounged around. Despite not being busy, our food took almost 35 minutes to arrive and one order was wrong, and the other undercooked and barely warm. We walked out and won't be back unless Steve returns as this place is not a patch on what it used to be when Steve ran it.

Myself and 5 friends arranged to meet up today for a couple drinks and a bite to eat , how wrong were we , drinks no Ice (what a pub with no Ice) ! Them ordered food. No Fish.No Eggs, No macaroni cheese , food came minus 1 on way as per waitress . Mine was deep fried halumi ( tasted of fish) 5th meal came after we had finished and only as we asked twice , service or should I say what services the waitresses couldn't give a crap ,tables filthy I cleaned our with wet wipes , food average place used to be good (WHAT'S HAPPENED) ? Need a good clean out and refurbishment with new staff and new chef , wouldn't recommend to anyone now shame as used to be a good place to eat , very disappointed won't come back sorry

Visited with my sister, niece and nephew. Arrived and placed our order at 1830hrs. When placing the order informed it was a 40 minute wait. We accepted this and decided to wait. At 1930hrs I asked where our food was, I was told it was currently being done and would only be a few minutes. 1955hrs food eventually arrived, clearly they weren't preparing it when I asked and started it when I questioned them. We ordered two sides of haloumi and only one came. Questioned this straight away, the lady came back and said they're making it straight away and it would only be a few mins. The food looked anaemic, the chicken burger only filled half the bun!! Each person had about 6 chips on their plate. My sister ordered a mixed grill, they forgot the gammon which came on a separate plate.....80% was fat!!! 2020hrs the side of haloumi still hadnt arrived and we'd finished our food. I asked to speak to the manager and got the shift supervisor. Told him I was appalled at the service and wanted a refund. He said he would see what he could do, 10 minutes of watching him do other things I caught his attention. He offered me a £20 gift voucher which I only accepted as it was for other sizzling pubs. Told him point blank I'd never ever go there again.

I used to love the carvery here and came quite often but the last twice I’ve been it’s been awfull the server serving the meat is so miserable and both times have only had beef left this was cut too thick and was so chewy I’ve brought the meat home to feed the dog. That’s all it’s fit for. It was only 2-30 when they had run out of turkey and gammon no roast potatoes left but they eventually brought some out that were burnt. I don’t think I’ll be comming again

This place has gone down hill we come about 2/3 times a week mainly for drink and tea every other week. Think we will stop coming and go else where. Service slow, food slow, but some staff are nice but that doesn't make up for everything else thats shocking with this place.

Got there at 12.20 only hand full of people in , did our order straight away as I had an appointment, still waiting 13.25 had to go ask them when finally iut came out, you could tell it had been sat for ever and not warm. Ben here a few times never again . Sizzler sort yourself out nearly £20 down the drain !!!!!

We come here occasionally as the menu has a wide range of options, and very reasonably priced.

I went to the pub for a drink after a night at work as i am a chef working close by, I was enjoying my self and the male member of staff couldn't do more to make my experience been a pl3asure, other members of staff ( uniform talk) were drinking and enjoying themself until the manager Donna come trough.... She pulled me out for leaving a bad review ( which i did) and start getting personal.

My friend and I ordered 5oz and a 8 oz rump steak it was a thin piece of meat with no resemblance to a steak whatsoever it was tough and tasteless I will never go here again

Came here last saturday got steak was perfect as i askedcfor rare couldnt fault the meal. So we decided to come today ordered same meal and was very disappointed steak over coiked ask to change waited a while replacnent came soaked in oily butter and steak full of grissle so 1 out 10 for this meal couldnt even eat it or finish it

Sunday carvery was really inexpensive & the quality was really surprisingly good. The dessert was an apple & rhubarb crumble that was delicious

Visited here for dinner with my partner and i was given my food, ‘garlic chicken’, to then find that the chicken was raw. As you can see in the picture the center of the chicken was bright pink and it was very tough to cut. I will never be coming here again. I dont recommend coming here to anyone else either. In the end i was given a refund and then i left.

Visited with parents after a hospital appointment. My parent's had the Gamon which was high with fat in proportion to meat, I ordered the Chili Con Carne with Sour Cream, Rice , Corn Nachos and a side order of chips. The Chilli Con Carne was like a micro waved ready meal and was vile. The saving grace were the chips that were nice . All in all bad food experience, and will not be returning anytime soon

The Restaurant was quite quiet, but its not surpring, since chaning to a Sizzlers, it has gone down hill slightly.

Went to the jockey for dinner tonight. Its the standard sizzler food. Staff were nice the food was very nice and the beer was beer.

I took some family here for a breakfast @about 1040 for a breakfast. On ordering the A’s asked if we would like unlimited tea and coffee with our purchase to which I replied yes, only to see them clearing it away after 20 minutes. I was shocked to learn that it is only unlimited till 11 and so was the breakfast. To top it all off, there was hardly any selection, what they had was cold and looked like it was sat there since the day before. The only up side is that the place is clean and at least the staff are well mannered apart from the manager who I spoke to. Disgusting service and unless your drinking in here stay well clear. Total dump.

We used this venue to hold a business team training day, pre re-launch to our own site. We can honestly say the team here were very helpful. Tea making and refreshment facilities were made available to us, and the room we had was able to feel segregated from the rest of the venue, helping our team focus.

We were staying with friends in Stockton and needed to have a quick meal. We had driven past this place a couple of times so decided to go here.

This is the first time I have been here for breakfast. The staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. The food was hot and there was alot of choices and if you had a query, I just asked. there are different sizes for different appetite sizes. So don't forget to ask. there is always someone who can gelp. And with allergy queries too! I will recommend this place. Don't go on reviews alone, try it for yourself Enjoy!

Just got back from having breakfast at this pub and it was so bad it was almost laughable. Billboard outside said breakfast served until 12pm and we went in at 10.40am. Not eaten breakfast here before so not sure of the proceedure and told the woman behind the bar who took our order.She said we had to order our eggs which were fried to order and also our mushrooms which were deep fried to order, I asked if I could have mine cooked another way as deep fried was unhealthy, she offered me grilled which I was happy with then a tall ginger haired man wearing a staff uniform walked passed and commented that would still me greasy as would be covered in oil before grilling ???? Why ???, the woman behind the bar said the breakfast overall was quite healthy ... bacon I asked...? err fried she replied, sausage oven baked .... hash browns ? errr deepfried she said lol .... so that left tinned beans and tinned tomatoes so NOT healthy after all. Never mind we were hungry and we were there so decided to make do. I was directed to a table near the bar, handed two grubby mugs and was left to figure out that she meant it was help yourself tea/coffee and toast. The milk jug had a broken spout so the milk poured everywhere but the mug... I found tea bags and sugar but no teaspoons, I asked the woman behind the bar twice for a teaspoon before she found ONE ... much to the despair of the poor woman behind me who also was looking for a teaspoon. I made the toast and then asked where the teaplates were for the toast as there were none on the table, maybe you were expected to carry all in your hands ? I found some near the breakfast buffet, four to be precise, three were dirty and the last one was wet, which I dried with a napkin. We sat for ten mins waiting for our eggs and mushrooms to be cooked. I did see the woman behind the bar stood there and in the end I asked if our items were ready and she responded yes, Oh I answered would it not have been helpful to let us know rather than to leave us sitting wondering do we help ourselves or not? She laughed my remark off and said ... Sorry I thought you knew ????? Eh why would I ? ... did I look like a mind reader? We served up our breakfast ... mopping the bacon with our napkins because it was floating in grease, leaving the undercooked sausages, the hash browns deep fied to an empty husk ... dried up beans and tomatoes, washed down with tepid drinks and the grating voice of the woman behind the bar calling everyone "Darlin.... sweetheart " every two seconds . It was a horrible breakfast with the worst customer service by undertrained staff who clearly did not give a stuff about the customer. Will never go back and will be sure to let everybody I know to avoid this place like the plague !!

Good menu with plenty of choice. Service at the bar can be slow when busy, but the food comes fairly quickly. Well cooked and decent portion sizes.

“All you can eat “ breakfast : Dried out sausages , Ok bacon, rubber fried eggs. No tomatoes , no mushrooms. ( it might be ok if you want beans on toast ) . A very poor offering .

First ever visit here and last.Food was not Fresh its either been cooked straight from a tin or a bag in the freezer.Small portions.presentation not good.Home cooked chips would be better on the menue and more home cooked food.I could have easily gone home and cooked this myself.A little bit of thought goes a long way.People want fresh home cooked food not frozen food out of the freezer.

You can’t fault anything about this place. If anything staff should be given a medal for working here as sometimes they seem over stretched but working in hospitality myself know that everyday is different. We both had the burgers and my daughter had the pizza and although next time I will opt for no cheese the meals were spot on and the bill was like £26? 3 meals and 3 drinks. Well done to your team. Came yesterday in a large group for something to eat and the food was nice, fast service and would probably come back. Had the messy Mexican chicken and was really nice but just too many onions.
