The Half Moon Inn in Stockton-on-Tees

Ordered main meal which took about 30min. To arrive. Then we ordered dessert it was only two dessert by 35 min I asked the girl at the bar why the dessert was taking so long and our table had not been cleared she followed me back to the table and cleared saying sorry she was slow at it as she was only bar staff. 15 min later our dessert still hadn't arrived so I asked to see a manger who took another 10 min returned with a refund for the dessert but it still took another 10 before the dessert was served. In all we were there over 2hours for what should have only been at most an hour. Throughout we never got an apology. Atrocious service.

Usually service is excellent they must having a bad day otherwise good pub

You don’t keep a Duke waiting…… rude! Service very poor and whiny. No idea how to serve people in the order they arrived at the bar, poor attitude. However, as a bonus, grade A urinals! The best in Billingham

Not the best experience, noisy, dirty and unhappy rude staff. Went here last night they had problems with the kitchen do couldn’t cook certain foods. They had ran out of steaks. The girl who served me was incredibly rude, so much so we left and are somewhere else.

Cheap drinks decent food always worth a visit .

Had breakfast in here today it was lovely everything was hot and the food was lovely better than other spoons I eaten in and the staff were very pleasant didn't try the beers as it was a bit early but a nice place

Got a spicey meat feast pizza. It arrived minus 2 of the toppings, (rocket and chillies), I know it's Weatherspoons, but it just devalues the whole experience. No apologise and the kitchen staff obviously don't care. Ps manager enjoying a pint talking to 4 other staff while people waiting to be served.

Great place for breakfast I had eggs benedict and a good latte nice seating area good atmosphere

Not bad food could be better but sign of the times weatherspoons need to be competitive plus was busy so can't be that bad maybe I'm being harsh

We have used this spoons often and on our last 2 visits the foods been awful only tells me staff turn over in the kitchen has been bad my panini was hard as a rock got them to do them again this happened on both occasions and chicken wings overcooked and scampi overcooked and under-portioned your chefs here sound like they need to get it together basic stuff rant over sort it out Wetherspoons

If you sit in the booths on the left it’s just full of flies ,they really need to sort this out and the food is awful ,got a cheese and tomato panini,was basically just tomato,no taste at all ,week before I got a wrap ,it was cold ,never used to be this bad but has really gone downhill,and if you order drinks of the app they basically bang the drinks down and storm of

Looks a big big place nice pub I am glad that the toilets are down stairs nice big sitting area out side as well

Food looked good but, I didn't have time to have any. Atmosphere was good and service from the girls behind the bar was very good.

Good pub with a great selection of beers and wines. Just popped in for a couple of pints. Did not have any food but the menu looked good.

Dirty tables with left food and plates sat there and nobody removed them .my meal was cold and only one member of staff behind bar. Seriously this is not on

Stopped off here for a pint also had a beef madras, it was Thursday Curry club , lots of seats , not too busy it was about 3pm. Service good and efficient, I enjoyed my stay here, added bonus toilets on the ground floor. Nice pint of Guinness.

Ordered 2 meals, and both needed bringing to the attention of staff, both meals were missing items and were brought when half way through eating them. One of them the naked burrito, was missing the chicken. They brought a ramekin of microwaved chicken to put on the meal. It looked quite disgusting.

Cheap but with a brilliant atmosphere. Arrived on quiz night which was pretty busy. Food was very quick to arrive and was lovely.

got turned away from the door because my skirt was “too short”. it was just above my knee. told it didnt fit dress code (not mentioned on the door). took three different people to decide. was utterly embarrassed 😄

Service was extremely slow. When mentioned a criticism about a member of staff, other staff were very off hand and dismissive of my issue. I have been to many weathesppons establishment and thoroughly enjoyed them. I have never come across such off hand dismissive staff. I will now avoid this pub

Went for a coffee before I went on my night shift wish I never bothered . Bar women was rude took my cup back it was dirty . No apology she just got another one and never said one word I said thank you when she give me the cup asked to speak to management nobody came will not be going back

Worst food I've ever had in my life.chef definitely hates his job.chios wees stale all food was cold food tastes like it came off someone's plate 3 days previously.put me off whetherspoons food for life absolutely vile

Glass was dirty so had to ask for a new one it was better but still not brilliant. Don't really expect much from the food here but it was worse than I expected. Gravy was lumpy, mash had a quite thick skin on it and the steak and kidney pudding was stuck to the plate and the pastry was bordering on rubbery. Wife's Chicken burger was not a lot better, also a serious lack of condiments. The food had obviously spent time under a heat lamp before being brought out. Will be long time before I use this particular branch again.

It’s a Spoons, it’s not a bad one at that, it’s done out to a decent standard with plenty of seats even when it’s busy Service like every Spoons depends on which member of staff you get On the whole I’ve had worse

I Went to the bar a few times one barmaid I learnt her name chase refused to serve me went to other customers when she could see I’ve been there for a while just pure ignorance for the service

It was the 1st time I've been there the place seemed really friendly and the food was just like any other Witherspoon's. I would go again next time I'm in the area

I had to go buy my own sugar from Poundland, they were 2 of us but because we both got 2 plates they assumed they was 4 people so brought 4 knifes and forks

Always enjoy the comfortable surroundings,food very good and prices too!

We go in here regularly but tonight the attitude from the bar staff and management was terrible. They were ignorant and disresectful. Chips on the meal were only warm.

Poor customer service. Poor food quality. Complained to manager. Did not care at all.

Food was served quickly. Staff were great, and the place had a good buzz about it

The steak I had was beautifully cooked medium rare, seasoned perfectly . I have paid a fortune for steaks elsewhere and this one was better. The jacket potato was good too. 👍

Typical Spoons but was absolutely heaving .. I think everyone who was going to the Rock Show at Billingham Forum had the same idea. Luckily we got in before six and just about got a seat. Ordered food and drink on app. Both came together about 25 mins later. As it was busy I have no complaints about the wait for food, but usually the drinks come pretty quickly first ... Not here, tonight. Also one of us had a still frozen chip served to them. Not the best meal, pub or service I had ever had in a Spoons or anywhere really.

They had no Leffe blonde lager,no Guinness. I ordered a curry at the bar expecting poppadoms,nan bread and mango chutney. The girl serving placed my order for a basic curry with no bread poppadoms and chutney,I didn't know there were basic options. I was livid.

A great spacious pub with friendly staff. Can get busy at times with all age groups but that gives it a good atmosphere. It does have quieter times, so if that's what you want but will need to check first. Also, a good place to go after the Forum theatre.
