Popped in for a pub lunch - the positives - warm welcome, good beer and dog friendly. The food was average at best - undercooked peas and chips resulted in the meal being average at best. Wouldn’t rush back to there again.

We often visit and have eaten here before, but I had a Sunday lunch there a couple of weeks ago, when alone and it was amazing. This time my wife was with me, after me telling her how good the food was, so fingers crossed.... No need to worry at all, the food was again amazing. Its the best Sunday lunch I've eaten out and thats a fact. The staff are always very welcoming and nothing is to much trouble for them. The atmosphere is great and the open fires make it. We will be back as soon as we can. Thanks for a great time!!

WOW, this was a bit of a find! Right opposite the Broadway Museum (also well worth a visit), the recently refurbished interior of this Gastro style pub gives it a sleek, clean stripped pine look, without detracting too much from its history. Within the hour, the pub was fairly full - mainly (I think) with middle aged+ locals. All looking pretty happy. Sunday service was exemplary and the typical all British Roast of Pork & Beef was one of the best we’ve had out in living memory. Very well cooked & very well presented with just enough meat and variety of side veg (not shown in the pic) to leave one suitably fuelled. Likewise the choice & size of the all British desserts (Choc fudge cake, sticky toffee pudding, apple crumble etc) - all served with a choice of custard, cream or ice cream. @ £25 a head for 2 courses incl drinks…what’s not to like and no doubt a good deal cheaper than the other hostelries on the High Street. Well done to the Horse & Hounds for restoring some value & sanity, not to mention quality, to Good, British Pub Food.

We popped in for a drink on our way home & was greeted by lovely Katherine. Katherine was welcoming & friendly. Great choice of drinks in a comfortable nice setting. A proper lovely Cotswolds pub.

Amazing Sunday lunch. Group of 8 of us booked lunch and would definitely recommend lovely home cooked traditional roast served on warm plates and delicious! Great service too 👍

We decided to pop in for dinner. The place was deserted with only a few tables occupied inside and outside. The original reception at the counter wasn't great. We ordered two entrees and a couple of drinks. Given the lack of patrons the vibe was pretty dead. Our two dishes were mediocre and not as good as other pubs in town. Instead of bringing a jar of ketchup we were brought packets of ketchup.

Very friendly staff. Food was good. Selection of drinks great. Made to feel very welcome. The pub is at the end of the village, hence quieter and more value for money than the rest of the pubs/hotels in Broadway

I visited the Horse and Hounds on a weekday evening with some friends. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the pub is clean and has a pleasant atmosphere. It serves traditional pub grub and does it very well, we all enjoyed our meals thought it was fairly priced and good value. Would definitely go back if in the area again!

After our walk to the Broadway Tower and back we were ready for a pint or glass of cider. So we popped in the Horse & Hounds for a drink. Nice looking pub inside, and great beer too.

We visited during the Rugby so the pub was busy. We used the adjacent dining room and found the service really friendly and relaxed. The food we ordered was freshly cooked,well presented and really tasty. In fairness the food was really good and better than we expected. Good selection of ales, open fire and it seemed dogs were welcome in the bar area.

We visited the pub last weekend and as the rugby was on in the bar (no seats) we sat in the restaurant. Food and service were fine/average. As we were finishing our meal, a young woman came in with a dog and a young baby. As there were no seats in the bar she came into the restaurant. The landlady bustled over and told her no dogs in the restaurant (there was no sign to say this). The young woman said okay and took her dog out. About 10 minutes later she came back in without her dog and sat down at a table with her baby. The landlady rushed back over and said "you can't sit in here with those muddy boots, it's a restaurant" and stormed off. I felt so sorry for the poor young woman, whose baby was crying by then. She had to strap the poor thing back into her sling and leave again. Why the landlady couldn't have told her about the dog and the boots at the same time, and in a more polite way, I don't know. Very mean and unnecessary.

This is a fine pub with good food and drink served at reasonable prices and by friendly, efficient staff. Ideally situated in the heart of Broadway, it is a great place to drop into at the end of a day touring or walking.

While the atmosphere was great, the food was very simple for the price. And the bartender was a bit abrupt and not really in to having folks from out of town who did not know his routine for ordering food. He was not rude, just no tableside manners. His helper was friendly however, so made it better.

After the last review I was a little worried about our visit but it was great. Very good service and the food was delicious. Pizzas in particular were very nice. Our kids were full but fancied sharing a sweet which was not a problem. Was not too busy but we reserved and we noticed quite a few reserved tables so worth booking as it is in busy Broadway after all.

We popped in on Saturday night without a reservation. Was welcomed by the friendly staff and a table was found for us without any fuss even though they were busy. My daughter and I are vegetarian and the lentil cottage pie was delicious . My husband son and son in law enjoyed some delicious food too. We stayed in Broadway for a week and sampled lots of food but this was by far the best and great value for money .

The Horse and Hounds is situated towards the top end of the high street. We popped in on a late Sunday afternoon for a drink. It was quite busy, but managed to get a table by the open log fire which was great. It was very cosy. They had a good selection of ales on tap. They weren’t serving food when we were there so I’m not sure what it was like. There was another room which was the main restaurant area. It definitely worth popping in for a drink though.

Sunday roast for lunch. Pork was superior to beef which was overlooked (sadly). Vegetables were well cooked and plentiful. Service was fine too!

We stopped for Sunday lunch having pre-booked a table for two. The menu was very limited being centred on Sunday roast. Starter was olives and tapenade- the mayonnaise was inedible as it had too much vinegar. Main meals were pork and lamb roasts- Yorkshire pudding and sage & onion stuffing for each! Veg was a mixture of very hard enormous carrots, cauliflower- of which One floret was grey with rot, and soggy or very under cooked potatoes. We had to ask for mint sauce and apple sauce as neither was offered Good choice of ales hence a 2 not a 1. Very disapppointing as the reviews encouraged to book.

Whenever we travel we love to find out where the locals eat. The Horse and Hounds is that type of place. The owner, Dave, makes you feel welcome and runs an efficient business. You can eat in the bar area where a lot of people are drinking and having fun. The other alternative is the dining room that is quieter. Both have the same menu. We were in Broadway four nights and had dinner here twice. Highly recommended.
