It's a very cute shop. There are a variety of drinks. The shop is beautiful. You can sit inside or outside. The surrounding area of ​​the shop is beautiful. From the shop, walk a little bit and there is an area where dogs can run around. It's beautiful and cute.

Had lunch for two. Very warm welcome on entering the premises. I had full rack of ribs my partner had Chilli prawns. Very generous portions, well cooked, quick service. The staff were all very polite and friendly. Even cooked sausages for our dog. Looking forward to visiting again.

Unfortunately the food let down the lovely pub, the owner was lovely but the waitress wasn't bothered and not even a smile. Too expensive for what it is.........

Sat Nav got us lost, so we stumbled on this pub. Staff and locals friendly & helpful. Food was delicious 😋 and directions back to our accommodation were fantastic Thank you.

A lovely Ceasar salad 🥗 with a generous amount of chicken, was chosen. The light cheesecake was beyond expectations!

A great little country pub the food was amazing has a nice selection of drinks

We pulled in on the off chance to get a quick meal and have a business meeting between appointments.. On arrival there was ample parking The gardens are well kept and welcoming.. On entry to the building there was a large group of locals in the doorway, we were greeted and made to feel welcome. The staff were very polite and willing to help, one of our party is disabled they went above and beyond to assist.. The beer was nice and cold ( very nice as a very hot day ) We placed an order for food from a great menu with a good selection.. We went for the traditional suet pies with mash.. The steak with horseradish was perfect with the right amounts of gravy and ample chunks of meat.. the side dish of veg was both healthy and hearty good crunchy veg rather than the normal frozen soft pub meals.. We felt that we had great value for money and enjoyed the environment and being able to relax and enjoy. Highly recommended establishment and will enjoy returning in the near future when we are in the local area. Your young staff were very polite and a credit to your establishment THANK YOU for a pleasant experience rather than just a pub grub meal.

A group of about 10 went for a meal . Very good service. The food was varied. IE pub food . But it was well prepared and presented. And at las HOT . No complaints. And l would go back there.

Had the best Sunday Roast. Had been searching the area and so glad we came here! Drinks and food were amazing. Roast beef and pork with crackling were delicious. The portion sizes were huge!

Was starting to give up on eating pub roast dinners but this was Absolutely the best roast I’ve had in years! The pork belly was amazing and huge portions. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend. Thank you 😊

Lovely venue. Good food, good value for money. Very good service from young, friendly and professional staff. An area of improvement would be a closer and / or more frequent monitoring of cleanliness in the ladies' toilet.

Not very welcoming, surly staff member told me quite bluntly no food possible for at least 30 minutes. I’d not even asked at that point, so left for a more welcoming venue of which there are many.

Recently moved to the area and everyone was talking about the Horse & Groom, so we decided to pop in. What an amazing pub! Fantastic food, lovley staff, and a brilliant atmosphere. Couldn't recommend it enough. We will definitely be becoming regulars 🙂

What a fantastic village pub. We went here years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it then but forgot what village it was in as we only stumbled across it whilst having a drive out. Will not forget it again. Will definitely return. Food fantastic staff great and atmosphere was just right.

Sadly a very poor expensive experience. The vegetable stir fry was overcooked, ridiculously salty and pretty much inedible. Chose a chocolate brownie for desert, but one couldn’t be found. The lady serving was very nice, but the very poor food let her and the pub down badly. Won’t be returning.

Excellent service though out our evening, food was perfect, great pub all round - no faulting our birthday meal/evening. Well done team.....

Good Pub food! The pub was nicely decorated for Xmas, it had a good atmosphere and the staff were lovey&very attentive. We had a good evening.

The new owners are to be congratulated on bringing this pub back to life. However, we had a bad experience food wise, ordering the lunchtime sandwiches. The meat in the sandwiches seemed like stale warmed up leftovers from the previous weekend roasts. Not good.

Great visit on Saturday for a late afternoon lunch! We were lucky to get in at 2:45 shortly before they closed service at 3pm! I had a BLT sandwich and fries that was excellent! Wide choice on me ye from classic pub dishes to burgers sandwiches and fish. Great views across the village green from the pubs garden! Rushlake Green must be one of the most beautiful villages in this pokey of East Sussex a true undiscovered gem!

Always a good pint of beer, thank god more choice than Harvey's bitter and Longman brewery which seems to be the norm for East Sussex pubs. We tried the restaurant last night for an evening meal and it was really good. The staff and service were friendly and attentive.

Had high hopes. Have wanted to visit for some time - and on entering this pretty village pub we weren’t disappointed at first. My 3/5 is for atmosphere, decor and great staff. Unfortunately, the food really lets everything else down. We both decided to eat Asian style fish… I had the salmon, my husband the swordfish… neither was good . Some sort of paste smothered on both of our fish which we both scrapped off and mine was very average for the price. My husbands was swimming in a very salty, sugary slop! Noodles and new potatoes in the mix, never seen that before and almost inedible. He ate the fish cos he was so hungry!!! Maybe we should have stuck to more traditional pub grub !! A shame because they charged close to £20 per main course and I expected more. Won’t be eating there again unfortunately… one of those nights when you wish you’d cooked at home.

Reliably good, always been a good establishment, food always high standard always leave full to bursting!

Staff brilliant, food questionable, Camembert not runny due to not cooked enough,chicken wings bbq sauce , chicken was good but sauce very dry , main fish & chips excellent, scampi no crispy batter and served only warm, steak & ale pie only one or two pieces of meat very disappointing, rack of ribs, meat on ribs good , but bbq sauce dry and was overcooked had a bbq crusty on top instead of a juicy sauce. Ribs presentation was very uninviting . Meal was a shame after the staff were so good. And there is lack of good local pub food in the area.

Visited with friends today fir the first time. Food was fantastic. Two roast dinners, one veggie tart, 2 ribs and I had cod and chips. Unfortunately I had a filthy hangover so not at my best but the food was all wonderfully tasty, piping hot, fresh and plentiful. Staff all lovely and friendly. Lovely beer gardens too. Look forward to returning next time we're visiting.

We went to this lovely pub today for lunch. The staff were absolutely lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Fantastic food, lovely service and just an all-round great place. We will definitely be going back!

Great traditional pub, excellent service and fantastic food and value for money

Fantastic evening meal here with a friend. We hadn’t visited before but really enjoyed our Tottingworth farm steaks. The menu selection was excellent which made it very difficult to choose. The service from the staff really stood out, they provided a very cheerful. friendly, professional and very efficient service. It was a pleasure to be served by them. In fact tried to book again for tonight but fully booked. That’s the downside of writing a positive review! But it’s great to see a local business so popular. We’ll definitely return.

Very good service and food, mid week lunchtime, so hard to comment on ambience, but would imagine its lovely in the evenings in the garden or inside with the beams and fairy lights . Really enjoyed our lunch

Wow! What a great find. The stand out traditional pub in the surrounding area. We eat out and all the time and stumbled across the Horse and Groom and was blown away. If we could give 6 stars rather than 5 we would. Highly Highly RECOMMEND.

We were staying in the area and our hosts gave us the recommendation to drop in here for a bite to eat. It is a convenient walk from the local area and surrounded by lots of gorgeous countryside. Lovely cheery interior with a wood burning fireplace and gorgeous exterior too. We brought our dog and sat in the outside beer garden area. Very dog friendly. Really nice picnic table style seating - all brand new and very sturdy. We tried the bacon and cheese burgers with chips both ways - absolutely delish! Everything was so fresh and tasty. Reasonably priced menu and some nice options. We were too full for pud but keen to go back sometime and try their crumble - looked lovely. Really great service and very attentive staff. I would absolutely recommend this pub.

Very extensive menu to cater for all tastes.Fantastic service,very friendly,my only criticism would be the side order of vegetables should be much blander,just boiled .I had the pork belly which was fantastic,very rich but spoiled with the overly rich veg.

It was the first Saturday evening after re opening. The welcome was warm, the food generous and delicious and the staff interested and helpful. A few more choices of pudding on the menu would make it perfect.

Great choice of beers with friendly landlord and landlady

Quintessentially English pub on pretty village green. Beautifully presented throughout. Good range of beers on tap. We enjoyed vegan luncheon dishes and coffee. Friendly service. Lovely dog too. Highly recommend this gem of a pub.

Lovely country village pub. Car park, plus parking available on the road if it is busy. Lovely garden overlooking the village green. Friendly staff and a good selection of tasty, homecooked food available plus some very nice vegetarian dishes. Highly recommended.

If you want a friendly landlord, opening times which match those advertised and beer and cider which isn't stale, then I'd highly recommending visiting another pub. The basics over two visits where missing here. Take your hard earned cash elsewhere. (Hopefully, someday, the landlord will get out of the right side of bed. The locals, in a beautiful, friendly village deserve better).

Best beer you can get, Cruzcampo

We booked to have Sunday lunch here on Thursday evening for Sunday at mid day. We arrived at 11:50 and there was no signage outside the pub so we walked into the beer garden to see if we could find anyone and a extremely rude man appeared and aggressively said “can I help you? what are you doing?” We explain we had booked a table for three for mid day at 12 and he bluntly ordered us to return and check in at 12 and to get out the beer garden. We decided the pub didn’t deserve our custom and we ventured off to a lovely farm cafe nearby.His manner and body language was totally unfriendly. If your going to arrive at this establishment slightly early, don’t bother, your get blasted for it!!

Outstanding food, plenty of outdoor sitting, brilliant service and amazing covid measures in place! This pub completely took us by surprise as we didn't really know the area well and just bumped into it. Absolute treasure run by a lovely couple who are both highly trained in health & safety from their previous careers. 10/10.

Bit disappointing... food was OK ( burger was delicious, moussaka burnt and tiny). Unfortunately not very accommodating for families. No kids menu is fine with me if you'll do a smaller version of some adults stuff for smaller kids but we had tonorder full price meals for our 6 year old 🤔. Also there was a misunderstanding in our order which meant that all our starters and mains were brought out together, which we were made to feel was very much our "fault". Bit sad really as really wanted to settle in for the afternoon but didn't feel very welcome.
