Took my 91 year old mum here for lunch. We should have listened to instincts and turned round. The place was cold. All the radiators were off and the waitress said that the owner had just gone out and she didn’t know how to turn the heating on. We did not take our coats off and noticed that another couple were sitting in their coats too. Very strange for a cold and miserable December day. We persevered. I ordered the Cumberland sausage in a baguette and my mum ordered Fried Egg, Chips and Beans with the eggs fried very hard. She also ordered a half strength, decaffeinated latte. My baguette arrived and it was very nice and tasty (although a bit expensive for what it was). About five minutes later, my mum’s meal arrived. The eggs were runny. My mum hates runny eggs so we sent them back. They came back with hard yolks - and inedible whites. My mum said her meal was totally bland. The coffee lacked one thing - coffee. Half strength doesn’t mean none (or next to none). There were notices everywhere saying “staff only”, even at the counter and asking customers to wait for staff to come and take their order. The waitress almost broke her neck getting to the counter in time to stop a customer putting his empty cups on the counter, stating that it was a clean space. What the heck! Shades of Covid. Again, very strange and quite unwelcoming. I had two diet cokes and the whole meal came to about £31. Very pricey for mediocre food. Rest assured, we won’t be back!

Popped in this cafe for a cup of tea, as we were entering a member of staff barged past in front of us nearly knocked my wife down, so rude, even people in the cafe were shocked. Ordered hot chocolate because there was no fruit tea, I ordered a pot of tea which was just like hot water no taste, it was like the cheapest nasty tea bad I have ever had total cost nearly £8 pounds. What a rip off miserable staff, who don't want to be there so rude and annoying I,would suggest you change your job this is called hospitality you would be better suited some where else where you don't have to smile AVOID AT ALL COST there are much better ones in Keswick maybe the staff should go to one of these cafes to be trained properly

I’ve visited this little cafe a few times now, with my boyfriend and on my own. It’s a lovely little spot and is very welcoming inside. I’ve tried a few things from the menu on each visit and everything has been amazing each time. I highly recommend it as its a lovely little place for a quick bite while walking through or to sit and chat or even sit for a while and read like I sometimes do.

Off the main street, this little cafe was a welcome interlude on a bustling Saturday market day. A bright, cheery place that was clean & comfortable. The lady serving us was welcoming, warm & friendly. I ordered a delicious, refreshing pot of tea & a slice of Lemon Drizzle Cake. I enjoyed both. When in Keswick, nip into The Pack Horse parade of shops/eateries, and give this lovely cafe a try. You won't be disappointed.

My wife and I walked in and my wife picked up a menu, as we were sitting down and a very rude member of staff walked over took the salt and put the menu back in its position and walked back to the counter without saying a word. Needless to say we left the establishment. We did not feel comfortable or welcome.

WOW!! What a lovely place, we had breakfast buns which consisted of egg, bacon and sausage, pot of tea for 2 All amazing, the topping on the cake was the fact that NO DOGS are allowed in, this is very hard to find epically in the lakes even more so Keswick, it was a fantastic find!! Love this little restaurant and pop in when we’re in Keswick. However, tried yesterday, Monday, and it was closed, that’s absolutely fine we understand it could be too quiet on a Monday to be worthwhile opening, it could be closed during January when it’s quieter or due to illness, the problem is there are no signs to say when it is open, we thought we may be too early so wandered around then went back, still closed. A simple sign giving opening times would be great Ps went elsewhere, nowhere near as good

Have used the Honey Pot several times when visiting Keswick in July. When my husband was confined to a wheelchair this was the only place that he could access and the service could not have been better. All members of staff were friendly, polite and professional. The food was always freshly prepared, cooked to order, well presented and value for money. This year I was on my own and received the same level of service as previously. Cannot fault the service I received and will definitely use again when in Keswick.

Looks good from outside shame the older staff member didn’t reflect that, not welcoming at all. Food does not match price and more representing a cheap road side cafe than a really good looking eatery. Two toasties arrived warm not hot, the cheese in one had not melted, limp and not that tasty. The young waitress was very good though and deserves to be employed by a place that matches her attitude and helpfulness. Would I use agai no

Spent a week in Keswick in holiday and had lunch twice in the Honey Pot. It does not open in the evenings. We variously had panini with salad garnish (who knew panini could be more-ish?), jacket potato, baguette and chips. These may not sound like adventurous menu items but everything was done well. Generous milk portion with your hot drink. Quick service by mostly young staff despite busy custom. Only one men’s WC cubicle and one for women/changing/disabled but very clean, as was the whole cafe. Bright and friendly place with a few outdoor tables but mostly indoors.

£ 9.95 is quite reasonable for a meal in Keswick and my pasta, salad and garlic bread was OK for the money, just nothing outstanding, and the pasta portion could have been larger, although it did taste nice. I'd say to people to try The Honey Pot if you want a meal for under £ 10, just don't expect anything fantastic. Another thing, some people have complained about the attitude of the staff. I had no complaints about the waitress or the owner, who seemed pleasant. Also with COVID cases rising again, the staff wearing face coverings is a good sign in a busy resort like Keswick.

Gracias.

I ordered a full English breakfast which was most likely part cooked the previous day, the bacon was like cardboard and the fried egg was flat luke a stale egg and the whole meal was tasteless. Manager took order wrong and was unapologetic in doing so. On paying the bill, despite apologising myself that there was some confusion over the order. She told me that perhaps I should be clearer when placing my order in the future. Once I had finished paying I did say that it was a shame that she couldn't apologise for any confusion and accept any responsibility. It was a shame because the young staff that were supporting her were so attentive. On leaving, whilst we were still in earshot, she exclaimed to him that it was my fault that the order was wrong. I would strongly discourage people from visiting the honey pot.

We had lunch here on the Bank Holiday when Keswick was very busy so we had a bit of a wait for our food - they seemed short-staffed too. Everyone was still very friendly despite the rush and the food was excellent. We tried 4 different all day breakfasts between us (kids, veggie, best and full) and they were all lovely. Good coffee too. Any place that does both breakfast and afternoon tea all day is all right by me!

Visited as a family of 4, had a warm welcome on arrival from a young waiter. Prompt service in terms of asking for our order. Lovely lady explained to our children that there was toys and books if they wanted to use them while they waited.

We stopped off in Keswick and went in here for a quick lunch. Nice simple food, well presented and good portions served by friendly welcoming staff.

A lovely atmosphere in this small establishment, just off the beaten track near the town centre. Our meals were quickly served and well-presented. Server didn't know what was in the Cumberland Pie though (not recommended unless you like black pudding!). We would have stayed for dessert but, although there were few customers, the waitress never looked at us and the younger server was looking over the counter towards the preparation area and never once looked round at the customers! At least five minutes before we gave up and left after paying. Glad we did as local ice creams were much better value for a family that their slightly over-priced desserts.

The Honey Pot cafe is a first class place for good old fashioned wholesome food! Good selection of dishes from morning to teatime! Eaten here many times before, but this year we were here twice. Staff so accommodating, fitting you in as possible if not booked, tho we booked both nights. Food was great and just what we wanted. Hot, wholesome n very enjoyable. The staff were amazing especially when Keswick was extremely busy with the Convention and the cafe was constantly busy busy busy. But oh so great! Thanks to all the staff

We were staying in Keswick on the first of November 2024 to celebrate two 50th birthday’s. Keswick was extremely busy and four eating establishments we went to couldn’t accommodate our party of seven. However the Lake road inn had vacant tables which was great and now I understand why. It was 2.30pm and the kitchen was closing at 5.00pm so they explained the menu was limited (fair enough). After viewing the limited menu we decided it couldn’t accommodate our party so thought we would have a drink whilst booking another venue on line for an hours time. Ordered a Guinness then a glass of Malbec. No Malbec and then discovered a lot of the ales were unavailable too. We decided this just wasn’t for us and said to the bar it doesn’t matter and left. We were chased across the pub by a member of staff with a card reader to pay for the half Guinness that was settling (the first drink on my order) he said I had to pay as it was wastage? Like nothing ever gets spilt behind the bar??.I reluctantly paid for it and asked for an additional empty half glass in order to share it so we could quickly move on. We moved out side and found the empty half glass was dirty and the Guinness had a black hair in the head. We poured it down the drain. We love Keswick and the people are lovely, friendly and accommodating. So please don’t waste your money at the Lake Road Inn. There are so many better establishments than here!! Avoid!! As a party of seven there for food and drinks we would have spent £200+, so their loss!! We had a lovely meal at the Pack Horse Inn. Lamb burger special was tremendous!!! I highly recommend the Pack horse inn, the pheasant, or the George. I can only hope The lake Road Inn falls into administration and a decent proprietor takes it over. Harsh but fair.

Took 20 minutes for 3 coffees and 2 cakes to be delivered to table. When it arrived, hot chocolate had cream when it was asked for without, and coffee came without milk. A staff member started banging and crashing dishes in the back VERY loudly for 5 minutes, so loud you’d think it would all break and multiple people were covering their ears.

Fish was cooked fresh, batter was lovely and crispy, couldn't fault it! We ate in, the tables were clean and it was nice to get in out of the elements. The free to play retro arcade machine at the back of the shop was pretty cool!
