We went on a quiet night but expected it as it was out of season.Staff were friendly and attentive, the food was great, plentiful portions and reasonably priced. Expect to eat well when you come here - the mac and cheese is a must. Could imagine that the place would be bustlin' at busier times.Even the music playing in the background was great. Parking facilities were good.

Was here on Monday after having a not so great stay at a hotel in Dunoon and looked for somewhere to have something to eat and I'm so happy we found this place. The food was incredible, the portion size is amazing, lovely place to enjoy a meal or a drink. We would travel here just for the day to be able to have that lovely meal again, we will see you again for sure.

We visited The Holy Loch Inn following the good reviews on Trip Advisor and we weren't disappointed. Whilst on holiday with our two dogs we were looking for somewhere to stop for lunch and, being a chilly day, eating outdoors was not an option! We were given a very warm welcome by the staff and there was something on the menu to suit all tastes. We chose the beef roast, which was lovely. Thanks to the staff who made us so welcome and cheered up an otherwise dreary day!

My wife and I dropped in on this little pub on a short weekend break recently. We obviously missed the lunchtime rush as it was around 2pm when we arrived. Whenever we sail into Holy Loch Marina, we make a bee-line for the inn. It serves the best beer in Dunoon area (as far as I know, the only cask-conditioned beer for miles around), and the best fish & chips. Friendly, sometimes boisterous, locals, live music sometimes, quizzes and other events make this a lively destination.

This is our 2nd holiday in Argyll and Bute, staying in the Dunoon/Hunters Quay area. We found the Holy Loch Inn last year and we returned this year. Still as lovely, very welcoming and friendly. Children, dogs all made to feel welcome. The food is honest pub grub and reasonably priced and we have eaten there several times. Lots of ‘regulars’ and locals use the pub as well as tourists. There was a major waterskiing event taking place whilst we were there and the place was descended upon, often at short notice, and they coped brilliantly, still able to cope with our booking. If you are looking for a true, honest, traditional pub, then we fully recommend this place. Already planning our return trip.

Went for lunch with my wife. We chose Scampi, accompanied by chips and salad. Meal arrived promptly and consisted of eight pieces of scampi, about fifteen to twenty small chips and a salad made up of no more than two small slices of cucumber chopped up, a couple of small leaves, and one and a half cherry tomatoes. The salad was so small it took up an area on the plate not much larger than two fifty pence coins. Probably just as well as the meal was served on a small plate, in size somewhere between a side plate and a dinner plate, more suited to a child's meal. Whether this is done to make the meal look larger I don't know, but it didn't work for me, I felt cheated. Meal very expensive, for what it was, and can normally be bought for about two thirds of the price we paid, and in considerably larger portions. We had intended to have sweets and coffee but going on the size of the main meal we decided not to chance it. All in all a very disappointing meal, an about average dish poorly presented. I did mention my concerns when I paid but whoever it was I spoke to did not seem too concerned. I would not use this restaurant again and would not recommend it.

Three of us had the haggis Bon-bons and king prawn filo rolls to share for starters, followed by haggis, neeps and tatties with whisky cream, which was not only superb, but a fantastic choice to warm us up as it had just snowed and was very cold outside. The Holy Loch Inn has been around for a couple of hundred years and from the faux black and white outside you could be forgiven wondering what lies inside. Once there you might also wonder what the food is going to be like. Answer? Superb! Sure, the decor needs some tlc but it's clean and tidy and the menu offers an excellent choice of meals, all perfectly and freshly cooked and very reasonably priced. The American couple sat across from us even had pancakes and maple syrup made for them and our Dessert version (with Blackberries) was delicious. We came here with our two children and my mum and dad. I thought it looked a bit run down from outside but went inside a as we were so hungry. My children had the burgers and I had the hunters chicken and My mum and dad had the steak. When the food came out which took about ten minutes (I don't know how you can make five meals in ten minutes) my little boy who is ten took a bite of his burger and he just seen red and the burger on the inside was red blood and running. My dad then checked our little girls who is seven and hers was exactly the same blood red and running aswell. My chicken was so watery it was disgusting as was the barbecue sauce. I only ate a quarter of the chicken unfortunately that was enough for me. We told the waitress who was absolutely lovely about the burgers and she did apologise and took them away expecting to get two new burgers but when they came back they were the same burgers but now with no cheese on as they had been reheated! My little girl didn't eat hers and my little boy had half then said he didn't want anymore. That night my little girl had a very upset stomach and had to go to the toilet several times. My mum and dad paid around seventy pounds for these half or quarter eaten meals as they didn't even offer to take any money off for them. Will unfortunately never eat here again.

Had a fantastic meal Saturday night. Kids were 'starving' but we wanted the Cullen skink starter (delicious and seriously filling) so my son (12) had a toastie to start (light bites menu but ok to have at that time of night). Rest of the meal was great. I just wanted their specials starter as a main (but starter size) - not a problem. Our son got a half portion of the pasta and that was perfect size and the steak pie for our daughter and special smoked battered fish were superb. Only downside - they were so busy they had run out of their special mash potato! And really reasonably priced too. Great to see it back open and doing so well. Definitely be back.

The menu was very very small, poor starters such as a toastie?, also no kids menu they just cut down the adult portion so my daughter basically had a choice of steak or a burger . Poor

Visited this pub for a quick Friday lunch. On entering the pub we found it was empty which was surprising. We ordered fish and chips and a cheese with ham toastie. Service was quick and polite and the food was fresh and tasty.

Nice to see Craig and Pip doing so well in their new premises. We have been in for drinks but not a meal yet; that will be rectified soon!

What a find ! Cracking local produce and gifts that would challenge Next and a wonderful array of cakes with great selection of coffees. We had super salmon selection scones to celebrate my partner's birthday 🎊 Garden centre had range of plants and compost , planters which I'll be back for ! Making Poppies a regular - fab first visit !

Amazing food and atmosphere. The manager, Edwin came to our table to check on everything. and was so nice and genuine. Brandon, our waiter was attentive and very personable. The food exceeded our expectations! We only had about a 15 minute wait and trust me ...it's worth any wait that you have!

Popped in for a bite to eat. Spotted the langoustines on the menu and had to have them. The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive.

Sticky dirty tables, ‘wiped’ with a filthy cloth when asked to clean, tables not cleared, staff seem completely disinterested in their roles, toilets awful. The whole place needs a deep clean and staff trained…so much lost potential for what could be a lovely cafe in a tourist area.
